If possible wouldn't give any stars. Would not recommend bringing your animal to Petsmart on Germantown Pkwy for grooming. Took my 13 pound maltipoo, to have a trim and her nails clipped. They called and said they are unable to cut her. When I picked up, they told me it is no charge because only parts of her got cut. Left mats of hair hanging off of her, and shaved one side of her face.

This is the only place in the area that carries the Blue Buffalo brand mature cat food that my ancient kitty will eat. So, kudos for finally finding a brand that he won't turn his nose up at. Petsmart tends to carry a healthy selection of birds, gerbils, hamsters, and guinea pigs, the occasional cats/kittens for adoption and they offer pet grooming as well. They also have local pet shelters come for adoption days on Saturdays, which is nice. I find that they do some pretty high mark-ups on things like citronella collars. And, I don't like that they don't carry specialty foods like Innova, which my dogs eat.

This review is for grooming. I wish I would have read the other reviews before my wife took in our standard poodle. She has taken him for trims in the past, but took him for a full cut most recently. She asked for a 1" teddy bear cut, and provided pictures. The groomer, Amber, assured she could handle it. When I picked him up, it was not what I expected; however, I wasn't there when she explained what she wanted. My dog's face had been trimmed, his tail had not been touched, and he had basically been shaved down to about 1/4", with random long spots as well as scalped spots. I took him home, and my wife confirmed this was not what she asked for. My wife called and asked to speak with a manager. She was told there was not a manager and to call back the next day. She called back the next day, but was told the manager was not available. She called multiple times, but was told the same thing every time. It was bad enough that they totally messed up a $100 grooming, but the customer service has proven to be just as bad as their grooming skills. We will not be returning with our pup. I have included pictures of his chest and rear leg, where he was scalped.

Their grooming hours are diff than their store hours. Thought that this might be helpful.

This review is only for their pet grooming and not for the rest of the store. Not only did I not get a reminder call, I didn't even get a call when my dog was ready. Apparently they thought I was a mind reader. In addition, they asked if I wanted what I got last time and named what I got which sounded like a basic package -- bath, haircut, ear plucked -- so I said yes. They failed to mention that I got the premium + add-on package last time (a year ago). Keep in mind that it's been a year bc I found other places and I decided to go back to petsmart only bc I was able to get my dog in the soonest there. There's a lot of other places that offer the same services for a more reasonable prices. Had I not complained I would've been charged $70. It would've only cost $50 anywhere else for the same package. I still got charged $62 with a 10% off discount. The only saving grace was that they did give out a "pawgress" report. But if I wanted to pay an extra $20 for a report, I'll just ask next time. Will take my dog elsewhere and avoid petsmart.

She is a pit mix who had most likely been on her own most of her life and needed to become fiercely independent to care for herself and her pups (don't know what became of them). The first time I tried walking Hera on a leash she literally dragged me down the street on my abdomen. We hired a private trainer to help us teach her basic commands and to walk on a leash. Lots of money later, training was over but Hera remained less than a well-behaved dog. Thankfully, we ran in to a stranger at the dog park who recommended Dogwood. OMG, what a life save!!! After just 6 weeks of classes Hera is well behaved, listens, has wonderful manners and best yet, I can easily walk her on a slack leash!!! They have attentive trainers, small class sizes and are VERY reasonably priced (to name just a few attribute). Thank you Dogwood!!!!!

They have advanced and agility training too. They even have a one on one class and will keep your pet while they train them. My goal is the AKC good citizens award. Ha-Ha ...with my guys that's a stretch. But Dogwoods is the ones to get us there. I will be updating this review on how well Shelby completes the beginner class.

Unfortunately, there have been significant changes this year that have completely changed our experience. All of the doctors we trusted have left, and the level of customer service has declined dramatically. For a period of time, there wasn't even anyone available to see pets on Saturdays. It has also become increasingly difficult to reach the office by phone, with calls frequently going unanswered. Messages are often not returned in a timely manner, if they are returned at all. Another major concern is the push to have prescriptions filled through Hillcrest's online pharmacy. We have been told that they will not provide prescriptions for us to fill through an outside pharmacy, which feels unnecessarily restrictive and is particularly disappointing given the significant prices we have paid for their services over the years. I was always willing to pay higher prices because I trusted the veterinarians and felt that Hillcrest provided excellent, customer-focused care. Unfortunately, with the loss of the doctors we trusted, declining customer service, difficulty communicating with the office, and the pressure to use their pharmacy, I no longer feel that the value is there. After more than 20 years as a customer, I am very disappointed to say that we will not be returning to Hillcrest.

I first tried to make an appointment online for grooming but the first available date was 3 months later. I called and the person that answered was very helpful. I advised her that I worked from home on Mondays and Fridays, let me know what's available then. I was told Monday at 3. I was excited as I called on a Friday afternoon. I arrived Monday for drop off and was told the appointment in the system is for Tuesday at noon. I was puzzled as it was a completely different date and time but ok. I asked how early could I drop off as I have to work across town. I was advised any time after 6:30 and left. This person was still kind and pleasant. Now Tuesday morning I arrive and was notified that the appointment was CANCELED!!! When inquiring of why I wasn't notified when I was JUST there yesterday. I was met with the least helpful employee and nasty attitude. She couldn't answer anything and only offered that she didn't work the previous day so she didn't do it and it is the discretion of the groomer to cancel appointments. I reminded her that I never said that she did and reminded her that I'm only asking for understanding and trying to reach a resolution because my puppy still hasn't been groomed. So just stared. No offer to reschedule, just nothing.
