She's was Extremely unprofessional and had a bad attitude overall. When I first started taking my dog there she was more pleasant, but occasionally had attitude. Which I dismissed because everyone has a bad day here and they all ways did an excellent job at grooming my dog. I even had him boarded there once and it was great. However, when you are steady client and go there often, Aylee, you can definitely change the tone and delivery when you communicate with your customers.

What used to be a reliable and professional place now feels completely careless and unprofessional. Over the past 6 months I've dealt with mixed-up appointments, an unfriendly attitude from the girl at the front desk, and multiple times getting my dog back with wet hair, knots still in his coat, and even small cuts around his ear. It's been disappointing to see the decline, but today's experience was the final straw. This morning I dropped my dog off at 8:20am for a BATH ONLY. I was told it would take about 3 hours, so I expected him to be ready around 11:20am. At 1pm I called to check in and was told they had fallen behind but he was on the table and they were "blow drying him now" and he'd be ready in about an hour (around 2pm). By 3pm I still hadn't heard anything, so I decided to just go there because there's no reason a blow dry should take two hours. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk had a bad attitude and immediately asked why I was there since no one had called me. She went to "check on him," but from where I was standing I could clearly see my dog sitting in a cage with his hair still half wet and no one working on him at all. Not only was I lied to earlier when they said they were working on him, but my dog had been sitting in a cage with wet hair for hours. Anyone who cares about dogs knows that leaving them like that can lead to ear infections and other issues. The best explanation I was given was that the person blow-drying him was "new," which does not excuse the lack of honesty, the poor communication, or the way my dog was handled. It's honestly sad because I supported this business for 5 years, but the service and professionalism have clearly deteriorated. I won't be bringing my dog back, and unfortunately, I can't recommend this place to anyone. If you value honesty, communication, and proper care for your pet, this is no longer the place it used to be.

The day after her bath, she began limping and crying from her back paw. I checked her and found a cut on her skin, and within hours her paw became swollen and infected. I rushed her to the vet, and to date I've spent over $1,000 on treatment. Her nails were trimmed extremely short and dangerously narrow--so much so that the vet immediately asked, "Who did this??" He said whoever groomed her clearly did not know what they were doing. She ended up with a severe fungal infection, most likely from unsterilized tools used to trim or file her nails. Her paw became terribly swollen. She had to get an injection, antibiotics, antifungal shampoo, creams--you name it. She has been in pain for days, barely active, and it's taken a full week just to see slight improvement. Watching her suffer has been heartbreaking. What made the situation even worse is the lack of responsibility. I called the salon to explain everything, and was told the owner "wasn't available" but would call me back. That call never came. Not then, and not even after the severity of what I reported. For a business owner, that is unacceptable. And it's not just this visit. I brought both of my dogs--my Goldendoodle and my Labradoodle--and neither had their ears cleaned, their teeth brushed, or their anal glands done, even though these services were included. A month ago at a previous grooming appointment, my dogs' ears were also not cleaned and one of them didn't even have her nails buffed, which I mentioned to them at the time. To top off the chaos, when I arrived to pick up my dog, they almost handed me someone else's dog first. That alone tells you how disorganized they are. The staff told me they take in "around 50 dogs a day" (which is shocking) and tried to excuse the situation by saying the dog before mine "could have been sick." Completely unprofessional responses from start to finish. And once again--the owner NEVER called me back. For the price they charge, you expect safety, cleanliness, and trained professionals. Instead, my dog suffered a painful infection that could have been prevented with basic hygiene and proper grooming skills. If the owner truly cared, they would refund the bath and take responsibility for the vet bills caused by their negligence. Pet owners deserve better--and so do our pets. Leaving him at this facility is one of my biggest regrets. When I picked him up five hours later, his eyes were bloodshot red, and he couldn't even open one of them due to the pain he was in. Another customer in the lobby even commented on how red his eyes were. The old miserable lady at the front desk, who seemed completely incompetent and dismissive, gave the excuse that his red eyes were because he's a poodle and had "a lot of hair that went into his eyes." How does that even make sense? That is not a valid reason for such clear suffering. My only priority at that point was getting help for my dog, so I rushed him to the vet -- and that's when I was told his cornea was scratched. On top of that, he had cuts on his legs and stomach that were never there before. If you bring your pet here, you are literally paying for your dog to come out injured, neglected, abused, and in pain. I have not stopped crying from the guilt and regret of bringing him to this place. The facility itself is rundown and outdated, and the lack of care and customer service says everything you need to know about how they treat the animals. The front shop is very cute, they sell outfits and products for your pets. (They're more expensive just like products you buy at a salon are more expensive than at the supermarket). The staff is really friendly and very well-informed about any grooming matters. I have 2 toy poodles and the first time I brought them in Luis explained to me all the different styling options for poodles and what he thought was most appropriate for my girls. (I still always get a puppy cut with "poodle feet") They're very attentive to requests and feedback. One of my dogs has little moles on her face that are impossible to see when she's fluffy, and if you don't know they're there you'll inevitably end up nicking them when you shave her. The first time I brought my dogs in, this happened and when I picked them up she had a couple tiny glitter band-aids over the spots she'd gotten nicked. The next time I brought the girls in, I told Luis about the moles and when I picked them up, no nicks! Lovely Pets is located on a tiny, one lane, one-way side street off Grand Ave. amidst a bunch of restaurants and shops. There's street parking along either side of the street that fills up really quickly in the afternoon so be prepared to find street parking either on Grand Ave. or around the block along Main Hwy.

The shower went great and the nails were trimmed I don't know why but they explained I should have said "cut the hair in half" instead of saying I wanted him to have short hair to handle the summer. They insisted his hair was trimmed and given everything else I considered it when eating it. In reality I added one star because of everything else but as far as what I paid for this was a 2 star experience and I'll give them another chance to make it better when I return. And to demonstrate what I mean... I don't think any trim would leave the results posted. I. Figured the toosh and tail drape would be removed to avoid dingleberries etc.. It wasn't touched at all. I would have preferred they tell me they decided NOT to trim him for XYZ.. and that would have been an easier pill to swallow.
