I can only write about the boarding. I know it's going to be somewhat impersonal, but it's also a known quantity. This is my second place putting up the pup at a PetSmart for the night in Vegas. I'm more impressed with this location. The workers really seemed to be very caring. It's a good location to the freeway on the North side of town. I expect they will be my goto place for a day, or two, while I'm spending a little time passing through. read more

I received a $10 coupon off pet grooming from pet smart so I took my 6 months old shih tzu there today. Maria was his groomer. From the moment we came in, I was impressed. She was very welcoming, informative and immediately started making my trembling puppy at ease. 4hrs later, I picked up a uniformly trimmed, handsome little pup. Can't thank Maria enough for being so nice and kind to my little one. She clearly loves what she does. I think I have found my puppy's forever groomer. They are a little more expensive than Clip-N-Tails where we used to take him but he is more comfortable here. Wish they offered military discount too though. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. read more

ATTENTION I'm only doing this review to bring awareness to all pet owners to NOT bring your loved one here. I brought my dog here to get groomed and I know he's not aggressive or bite at all. I've brought him here before and had no issues with his behavior. When I picked him up, this recent appointment, they returned him with cuts inside his ears and around his body. I was frustrated and confronted the manager about it and basically told me they can't do anything because it could've been the dog's behavior. I thought this was wrong because my dog is 6 years old and never had problems with grooming aggression. He's now showing trauma in the house ever since the appointment. We can't leave him alone because he feels scared and just cries. He's just not as happy and lively as he was before. When I brought him back to talk to the manager, he peed himself and started shaking heavily because he was scared of whatever happened. Save your pet and DO NOT come here. read more

Great location without a doubt on the north side of the metro along CC 215. They always have a variety of selections to choose from. Everything from large to small pets...they have it all. I love this pet smart! I frequent this location for all my pet needs. The workers are always so helpful and sweet to my dogs when I bring them with me. Today I brought my doodle Chai along to get some grooming supplies. Amaya and another associate (whose name I did not get) were so eager to help me get the right tools, give me great advice and answer any and all my questions, all while loving on chai and giving him treats. We went in tonight to buy a turtle and had a million and one questions. Thankfully, we were assisted by Kaia and she was literally the most helpful and nice person ever!! I came back to her several times when a new question popped into my head and she was happy to help every single time. It's rare to find employees and just people in general who are that kind and who WANT to help you. I work customer service as well and I know when it's nearing the end of the night you're trying to get your stuff done and go home but she didn't make us feel like a nuisance whatsoever. She was really knowledgeable about the department and knew all kinds of details I didn't even think of when walking in. I hope Kaia gets recognition for this because like I said, an employee like her is rare to find. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL. The manager does not know how to manage the staff. One of the groomers was rude to me and the manager treated me as the guilty party. So much for customer retention and profitability. Vet review 10/10 do NOT recommend Banfield pet hospital. They refuse to do the exam or vaccines in front of us despite asking. They did not tell me that my dog would be kept in a kennel for 9+ hours and not taken out to be relieved. They would take hours to call me back. My dogs broken toe cost over $1500 and I was told she would require surgical intervention which the exam for that would be at least $500. I went and got a second opinion and was told she did not need the surgery. I would ask questions but they would either brush me off or not speak in a way I would understand. Very. Very disappointed. Not to mention I am currently on hold for going on 15 minutes trying to cancel our puppy plan which we were told would be canceled last month. read more

When your target audience is pets, you claim you cater to let's and pet owners and you even host adoption events for animals needing forever homes I expect at the very least professionalism with regards to the aforementioned pets and pet owners. Let me preface by saying that while I have three dogs, one is a HUGE, stunning Great Dane. What I was unaware of before moving here a few months ago, is that Great Danes in the Vegas Valley seem to be more rare than an Open to the Public day at Area 51. Even when employees are stopping what they are doing on the clock to take video of my dog...TWICE...you expect it now to go further down the stairs to stupidity. Nope. Not here. Not only did the video thing happen twice but employees were bringing kids and other employees to the grooming area to peep my pup like he was wearing a Lady Gaga suit barking 'Born This Way'. Inappropriate all over the place. Add to it that two groomers can't get straight that one dog gets her nails trimmed and the other gets a sanitary and his nails done...I'm not only not impressed, I'm appalled and disgusted. It has nothing to offer me or my animals. My fish deserve better. They'll get it elsewhere as we are never setting a paw in that store again. read more

We will never trust their PetHotel again! My French Bulldog, Beau, spent 4 nights with them and he came home with a scab on his head!! None of the employees can explain what happened. Worst Yorkie groomers ever! They completely butchered my dogs hair! It looks like a 3 year old cut it. My baby had sooo much hair (that wasn't matted at all) and now she looks like a freakin rat! I even showed them pictures of what I wanted but no a complete reck. I can't even look at her. read more

This place is horrendous when it comes to fish, most of the stock tanks have dead , almost dead or sick fish! I just purchased some blue platties sunrise platties and a few mollies . I have a large rainbow aquarium and water pers are always perfect I do weekly tests and water changes. That being said every fish I got from this location is sick from dropsy, velvet and ick ! most of the platties are now in a hospital tank. Last night I went back to the store and all of their platties have dropsy! Asked the African American girl where her blue platties where she said she doesn't have blue platties when I found them and pointed out the fish to her she yelled at me and said I told her "blue mollies"Bottom line DO NOT GET FISH FROM HERE!!! I would give no stars at this point. My experience tonight has totally changed that. My daughter called me while I was out and let me know that the dog food was gone . I drove super fast to get there and arrived 1 minute before 9 pm. There were c still customs in the store and employees pushing in carts. I approached and asked if I could just buy 1 bag of food. They assisted no we are closed! I let them know that my dog needed food for tonight and tomorrow and that he was on a special diet and that is why I come there. The employee was insistent and told me No. Sorry but No! She cannot let anyone in. I even asked her fine then take my card and buy it for me and being it to me if I can't come in. No I can't do that! Even though there was still people inside and I could make my purchase in less then 5 minutes. No kindness or humanity here. I won't go back and have lost my patronage!! read more

This is my go-to Petsmart. The one on Craig is much closer, but I'd rather make the short jaunt up 5th to this location because it's cleaner, it's better stocked and the general area is much more pleasant to shop in. I've been here a handful of times now and every time they have the product I need in stock (Kaytee Orchard Grass in the 24oz bag for my bunny, Lulu). The staff is always really warm and actually act like they love animals. Some of the other locations, the staff sometimes seems like they'd rather be having dental work. Today, the sweet girl at the register and I were discussing my rabbit and she was so informative about whether or not I could pre-order in bulk and pointed me to their website in the event they don't have it in stock. Standard knowledge, but I appreciated that she offered it up, like she genuinely cared that I got what I needed. Finally, at the end of our transaction, she lifts up my bags of hay gingerly, apologizing, but saying she's allergic to most of the hays so she was just being careful. I thought that was so sweet! She never let on the whole time we were talking that she was allergic or potentially uncomfortable. She just smiled and gave great customer service. I hustled the hay out of her vicinity, but she made a point to ask as I left what my bunny's name is. I wish I had made a point to ask hers! That's how it's done, customer service. Two times in the last two months have my husband and I been in here trying to adopt a cat and have been ignored. We ask for someone and are left waiting and waiting until we give up and leave. Went in again today since free adoptions are this weekend and asked for help and they said "someone should be over there" and no one was but we still waited and nothing. Just feel like the don't care to give these animals homes and it's pretty upsetting. These poor cats are living in glass boxes waiting for someone to love them and a family comes in wanting to do that and we're left high and dry after asking for help multiple times. read more

Never been in any other petsmart location so I can't compare, but this location is big, clean and organized! Recently got a teacup yorkie & this petsmart location is right up the road from me. Things my puppy has gotten from here: royal canine dog food (this is the only place where I can find this brand, so that's a plus) puppy toys... chewing bones, kong... dog clothes (they carry the martha stewart line here) ID tags (make it your own with a do it yourself machine) great selection of dog treats as well! They have a doggy hotel and every time I stop in, there's always a bunch of dogs playing behind the window. So that's a great option if you need doggy day care! I appreciate that every person has different experiences. But, for my family, I had an awesome experience. They took wonderful care and the assistant manager was right there in case someone had a problem. So, for boarding and grooming...this location is fantastic! Our vet office "Camino Al Norte" recommended this PetSmart as they were built to board around 150 animals. There was one small hiccup...but so small it doesn't affect my rating. A grooming rep came over to take care of our dog the same day we dropped him off. They apparently took care his grooming before the scheduled date. That's fine....they just didn't record this in their books. There's no proof my dog got his bath, but being I take care of him, I can tell. So, awesome place to tale your pets.... read more

Horrible place !!! Never take your dog here. go to Petco Instead. I brought my dog for doggy day care , and an unexpected situation happened , where I was not going to make it In time before closing hours which is 9pm. I called to let them know I was on my way already , and I would be there in 15 min. The lady that always wears a bow on her head , her name Is Anita, I believe., and said it's fine. So I arrive to petsmart at 9:04 and an older lady gave me an attitude saying "I THOUGHT WE SAID WE CLOSE AT 9" and I said yes but I called in advanced. Anita came out and said that I cannot take my dog home because I arrived after 8:59pm . At this point I am upset . I said Why didn't you explain any of this on the phone ? She couldn't give me an answer , and just kept repeating that I couldn't talk my dog home . She stated that the registers were tooken out now so they couldn't make sales ! I was frustrated and I feel like they did it on purpose because I CALLED saYing I was on my way. Why would they clear out the registers !? The lady needed up charging me for day care AND for her staying the Night!!! The held my puppy hostage basically . I am VERY upset!!! Horrible service!!! No type of communication !!! read more

We LOVE this Petsmart! First of all, every Saturday and Sunday, this location hosts pet adoptions by Adopt a Rescue Pet -- a local rescue and shelter in North Las Vegas. My boyfriend and I adopted our sweetheart shepherd, Penny Lane, on one such Saturday. I can't speak highly enough about the staffers who run the adoption weekends. They are compassionate, considerate, and highly knowledgable. Second of all -- let's talk Doggie Daycamp and the Pets Hotel. Penny LOVES coming here. The staff are some of the best I've encountered. When I call to check on our pup, they know her by name. I love that they remember her every time we bring her back, and that they truly pay attention to her experience each time she's there. We always get a "Pawgress Report" which specifically outlines how she did, what she ate, and who she made friends with. It's such a comfort to know that when I go out of town, my beloved puppy is safe and happy. A sweet anecdote to prove how devoted and awesome the employees are: We once took Penny to a nearby dog park on a day when one of the Petsmart employees was also there with her own dog. As soon as we were through the gate, Penny bolted across the lawn to the employee and slathered her with kisses. She remembered the employee! My boyfriend and I apologized for Penny's overeager greeting, but the employee said, "No worries! I love Penny!" This woman made a genuine connection with our puppy. She even remembered her by name! This floored me. They clearly go above and beyond at Petsmart. I highly recommend this Petsmart for the incredible dedication and warmth of the staff. Bravo! read more

Our family was going out of town for spring break and decided to board our Gypsy Rose at the Pet Hotel here at this location. We used them once before and had a good experience so decided to try them out again for our new girl. Our poor Gypsy was so scared to even go into the store, she's kind of a diva and a homebody so she's not used to being out and about too often. We walked her in the store and she froze in the doorway, layed down and would not move! I didn't know what to do, she weighs well over 70 lbs and was to heavy for me to try and move her or pick her up. I asked the cashier if he had someone who could help me try to coax her up so we could get her over to the hotel. A manager came over to help, Mel was her name, she tried giving Gypsy treats and attention in hopes getting her to move, no luck. Mel had the great idea of having us walk out of the store and she moved the carpet from the doorway so Gypsy had no where to sit and she suggested we trot her in and it worked! Thx to Mel we were able to get Gypsy to the hotel and I knew she was in good hands. The young lady who checked us in for our reservation was also super helpful and attentive and very caring towards our dog. Thanks again to Mel and her team for helping to turn a stressful situation into a good one. read more

Unprofessional..... no experience dealing with large breeds. After making an appointment for 12:30pm and waiting in line for 15 minutes, I was greeted by a groomer in the store area who proceeds to tell me her notes indicate my dog bites when she is being lifted under her belly. I had never been told any of this after dropping her off to this particular store several times. They have reported that she gets nervous but never bites. Upon picking her up the groomer brings her out into the store area and instead of allowing me to get my dog situated and discuss in private the issues she experienced with my dog, she proceeds to basically call my dog vicious in the store area in front of multiple guest and stated that I might need to take her to the vet from now on because she tried to bite her 5 times. She then proceeds to tell me she accidentally touched my dogs paws after being told not to do that so that bite was understandable but the other bites were unwarranted. Once you have made my dog nervous and scared seems the groomer would have called me to come get her instead of trying to force the grooming appointment. I only learned that I would for sure not be able to return to petsmart for any grooming services after logging into my petsmart account and found that I have been blocked from making appointments. "Might" is is not the same as you can not bring your dog here for services anymore. Total waste of time, had I known from previous appointments they were scared of my dog I would have never brought her to the appointment. I guess the $89 was more important than the groomer and my dogs safety. read more

You would think they could have resolved whatever vendor ordering issues they seem to continually have. While I am not familiar with their grooming, we are regulars to the doggy day camp and the retail store. Without sounding snotty, I didn't expect to be so pleased with a corporate run store but can't say enough how nice it is to be recognized every time we come in by a fairly large operation. I made the mistake of hitting one of the boutique shops and my dog hasn't been the same since - and I want to review that place but see the owner takes a liking to insulting people who do write negative reviews (WoofGang Bakery cough cough). Okay, so from day one we have had help with our pup. Tonya walked us through the entire process and never tried selling us anything we weren't sure we needed. She recommended things that eventually came in handy and I wouldn't have thought of (since our trip to WoofGang my dog now messes on the carpet and I'm glad I have the spray cleaner!!) Pup LOVES the ladies at the day camp. Brett, Shannon etc. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable when apart from your little love. I dig the Pawgress Reports and the personal stories I get when I pick up my dog. My dog has to visit every employee before she leaves. It's hilarious. They call her by name and show such excitement, my pup howls as soon as I say we are going to PetSmart. Products that don't work out are easy return. Coupons are plentiful so sign up for their email. The app doesn't have much yet but I got that going, too. Right now, this is the ONLY place I feel okay leaving my pup. She's an energetic and skittish rescue pup and yet she has no hesitations going here. Thanks again to Toni for giving us the rundown about day camp - only to find out she was on her lunch break - but took the time anyway! PS the ice cream in day camp = 2 paws up! I made arrangements for an 11 night stay for my 2 dogs to share a 4x6 space. When I dropped them off, I asked how many times a day they are taken to the relief room and was told twice per day. I was shocked and explained that would not be enough for my older dogs. It was explained to me that if they relieved themselves in their space, they would clean it up. Unacceptable to me for 49.00 per day for 2 dogs. I was told that if I paid for play time, they could go to the relief room 2 additional times per day. I agreed as I knew twice a day was unacceptable. I could have left them with our Vet for 25.00 per day, but thought they would be more comfortable at Petsmart for this longer stay. Feeling upset, I called the next day and spoke with Manager who said they take them 3 times, if time allows. So, my dogs would go 5 times per day, since I agreed to pay for two play times. I don't understand how they will take them 3 times, only if time allows, but can manage two more times if you pay extra. I later looked at their website and under services and amenities, it states 2 walks per day and unlimited trips to relief room. I shared this information with the assistant manager when picking them up. She said I was paying for play time, not pottie breaks. I explained that I was told this was the only way they would get additional pottie breaks. She did remove the play time charges, but I do not intend to return to Petsmart. Have done lots of business with them here and in Tx. Boarding, day care, and nail trims. Paid a total of 567.00 which included an additional 28.00 for extended boarding. That's fine, but I did drop off and pick up at the same hour of the day, so it really wasn't extended. read more

We had to bring her dog here, for doggy day care. We were very impressed with how clean the store always was no matter how many dogs cats or other animals were in the store. The wait time to register our dog was very short, and the service was very good at all times. When picking up our dog he seemed exhausted from all the plane that he had done. There were a couple times that his collar was forgotten but the good thing is it is bright green so we know it's easy to fine which they were able to very fast. The staff here was outstanding making sure that all the dogs are playing safe, and having a good time while in the main playroom together. Our dog even ate his lunch, which is highly a new usual when he wants to play. We look forward to bringing our dog here again over the next several years while we attend the special events in the area. read more

I don't trust to many people with my kids (furbabies) but I absolutely love taking my furbabies here to get groomed. We always use Brandi in the grooming department for our furbabies. She is the best. My furbabies Angel & PeeWee always come out looking and smelling so good. I how she takes her time with them and treats them like they were her own.
