    After his haircut at petsmart

I took my 5 month on shih tzu for his first haircut his name is Rocco I picked the package for full body hair cut and wash cost was 80 dollars when I got there the groomer odalis said that they might not be able to give him a full body cut because it's his first time and he might be scared or have anxiety I would think as a groomer you should be trained to cut any age and be able to handle a small 9lb dog with baby teeth I looked confused like why can't you isn't this what professional groomers do I told her to please cut his hair we picked number 4 she tried to up sell me for another cut that wasn't 10 dollars more and I said no just number 4 and she said they would try so when I went to pick him up she said she wasn't able to cut him she was only able to clean up his face and cut some of his nails down My dog looked the same way when I dropped him and they charged me 73.00 which came to 80 dollars after taxes I was so disappointed because I had been looking forward to seeing him cleaned up he's very hairy looks like a teddy bear and I wanted that hair cut down she suggested that I come back in 3 weeks and I guess pay another 80 dollars just for you to tell me he wouldn't stay still and was trying to bite you Don't you all have muzzles to put on dogs I mean for forsake he's 5 months old with small baby teeth I could've done what they did and kept my money I should've listen to my vet she told me not to take him there I should've turned in left when she said she might not be able to give him a full body hair cut and not only did you charge me 80 dollars for a haircut that wasn't a haircut only some of his nails were cut i honestly don't know what you're going to do differently if I come back in 3 weeks if he was trying to bite you today don't you think he'll try it again in 3 weeks be forreal I think this is a scam asking is this his first time then proceed to tell you what they might not be able to do but still charge you the same amount for a full body haircut and ask you to come back in 3 weeks because he has to get use to it when I tell you I'm so pissed off which Is why I'm doing this long review you scammed me out of 80 dollars you trimmed his face cut a few nails bathed him and called me in an hour to pick him up after saying it would take 3-4 hours I will never step foot in petsmart again ill get my puppy products from somewhere else and find me a professional groomer who can handle grooming a 5 month old shih tzu so in the end I was charged 5 dollars less because they didn't give him a full body haircut but with 6 dollars tax it came to 80 something so the full body package is 80 dollars plus tax it Would've come to 86 something who won petsmart then you wanted to pay upfront before even seeing what he looked like what a joke and a scam shame on you petsmart that service should've been 50-40 dollars not 80

This is after they cut his chis and the sides of his face even with the chin.

Every time I take my pets to this location they cannot follow directions no matter how much we tell them exactly what we want. Today I asked that my dog have his stomach and eyes trimmed around but nothing else cut. They charged me $70 to total screw up his face. I was very specific that they not cut anything but around his eyes and stomach. They refuse to listen to clients and then have the damn nerve to charge so much.

This location is inadequately staffed and stocked. It's also a bit unorganized every time I come. The staff is nice but you typically have to seek them out if you need assistance. I don't always find what I am looking for at this location but always fall back on online ordering if necessary.

before a TERRIBLE haircut on my golden doodle.

I had an EXTREMELY unsatisfactory experience with Carmen, the groomer at this PetSmart location. She displayed unfriendly behavior, avoided eye contact, and had a low tone voice, making it clear she didn't want to help. Without even analyzing my dogs fur she made it clear she couldn't save any of it and she had to shave it all off. I requested to preserve my golden doodle's facial, head and neck hair because the hair was not severely matted as the rest of his body was. I was okay with his body, legs and tail being shaved due to the circumstances. In the end she shaved the facial/head and neck area completely bald without explanation. To make matters worse, a $40 dematting fee was added, contradicting the earlier assertion that the hair was beyond saving. On top of that his hair was patchy and uneven. How was he bald and uneven? Great question. Moving along, my dog was at this location, CONFINED from 1:30 pm to 6 pm, he wasn't taken outside to relieve himself and ended up deficating on himself. When picked up, he was visibly shaken and ready to get out of there (abnormal behavior from him) . I strongly advise against booking with CARMEN or anyone else at this location.

Just wanted a red fish, it was my late mother's favorite color

So, the big blonde guy working the fish department didn't have time or want to help us today. Every question my 79 year old father had, he answered why he couldn't or what they didn't have without even checking!!! Then when I told him what I wanted instead of getting the container to get it (not our first purchase) he went to help some dude with hissing roaches . He never finished! He either didn't want to work or didn't want to work with us. My dad was annoyed. 6 months inside and all he wanted was to fix his fish tank. However, Victoria came out and helped us with everything. She explained what we needed, answered all our questions and help so much. You need all of your employees to be like Victoria. Not blonde head with the ineffective neck gaiter. #GoVictoria!

Upon making my appointment I was not made aware of the new adjustments in price and charging an extra % to use credit. If I was aware I could have brought my debit card with me but I never use it so I don't carry it. Aside from that I picked up my sweet pup with a hefty price tag of $177.00! That is a bit more than a "small adjustment" to their rates! I absolutely will not be going back.

We have taken are puppy to Pearland Barkway since his first cut and have gone quite a few times since. The front desk employees are always great and detailed, and today was no different. The reason I am leaving this review is just provide feedback about my experience and how I left feeling. When dropping off Lio, my boyfriend and I are super specific about how we cut his hair, because he's a poodle a mix and the cut usually defines that. When I was asked about the cut for today, I asked if we can just do the same as last time. The woman up front even went to find the sheet from a filing cabinet and called the groomer to the front to discuss it with me. She asked if I wanted a "4" all around and I said if that's what he got last time then yes. She copied a few notes from his last sheet to today's sheet. When I picked him up, I was very surprised and didn't even recognize Lio to be honest. I didn't say anything other greet him and give him some love, up until I asked if everything looked good. I said it was muncher shorter than what I expected and again she was kind enough to bring out the sheets and call the groomer out. I showed a video of what Lio looked like when he got his haircut a month ago to the groomer. She said this is what a "4" all around is and I replied I don't know all the terminology about grooming but this is not what he looked like last time. A second receptionist pointed out that his last sheet had notes on there that indicated to keep his hair long in a particular style that obviously were not taken into consideration. I told them, well his hair is gone and I asked well what can I ask for next time so that we can get what we wanted. They pulled out the sheet and made notes with me to ensure next cut would be better. Throughout this conversation, they weren't at all rude but I felt like the groomer realized she had made a mistake. She didn't apologize but said the last sheet had a lot of notes and made it confusing. I also felt it was odd to charge a customer before seeing how the grooming went. I wasn't expecting anything but offering some sort of refund or discount on my next cut seemed fitting due to how much hair they cut off of my puppy. I know in the future to provide photos and be EXTREMELY descriptive. I'm also going to request a different groomer next time we come in. I went ahead and uploaded two photos. One is from a month ago from his last cut and today's; I'm sure you'll see the difference.

I have a very high maintenance long haired persian cat and am new to the area, so I trusted this business since they are the first groomer that pops up when you google "Best groomer near me". First of all, let's just start with the fact that it was a drop off system. For a cat. That had a pre planned appointment set already. This isn't just a normal drop off system. It's a room full of dogs that are being left there for hours. Oh, did I mention my cat was there for 5 hours? AND they didn't answer my phone call twice to check on my cat? Smh. Anyway, my cat was left still wet, not combed through all the way, and I came to get rid of his knots, which I was told "If he's too difficult I wont dry him through all the way" Girl huh?! what were you doing with him for five hours then?! They literally still had a christmas tree up. In march. If that doesn't tell you how lazy they are I don't know what will. I give this place a 2/10. If you want to go somewhere that will actually treat your high maintenance long haired feline, go to Clear Lake Kennels. I paid $65 to get a proper blowout, knots out, and three baths all within an hour and a half time frame. I paid $125 for a still wet cat, knots, and choppy grooming at Puppy Love Grooming Salon. Will never bring my cat here again and will NEVER recommend even to a dog owner. Don't bother replying if you're the owner, I don't care.

The receptionist who answered sounded anything but friendly when he scheduled me and took down my information. Told me I needed shot records, but didn't give any other information. I was already not impressed but I decided to give them a shot anyway. (Maybe he wasn't having a great day?) Come the day of the appointment, I get to the place and the receptionist there didn't even look up at me when I walked in. She seemed pretty lack-luster. Then she asked me what I wanted done for my dog. I explained that I've never brought a dog to the groomers before because my other dogs have all had short hair. She called the groomer in and they both kept asking me "what do you want?" I don't know how I could have said "I don't know" in any other ways. I just asked for what they would recommend as my dog had matted fur and needed a clean up. It was frustrating to say the least. When you have someone who doesn't know what to ask for, it doesn't make must sense to ask her what she wants, does it? My dog is a rescue and very nervous around new people, and even though I told the staff this, they were very aggressive in trying to get her to come to them. It was so hard to get her to come, that I had to leave the leash there with them so they could lead her back with it after I left. When I picked my dog up, they let her out of the back area into the small glass lobby area with no leash or collar. Just let her run out by herself. Almost as soon as they let her out, someone else came in and my leash-less dog ran out of the door and into the parking lot. She could have been hit by a car or ran away. Any number of things! Luckily she circled back to me and I was able to grab her. Why would you just let a dog out with no leash? If I had not been in a reasonable mood, I probably would have made a bigger deal of it. I doubt I will be back because this last thing was just the clincher after an already underwhelming experience.

BEWARE***Kennel Cough Alert*** 12/10/2024 I dropped my dog off for the first time at a boarding facility here. I felt confident after speaking with the lady that works there that this would be a decent place for my furbaby. I did not have a great experience with the man that works there and to find out, he's the "General Manager". I dropped my, almost 2 y.o., dog off here from 11/30 - 12/8 as we were going on a cruise. Upon pick-up on 12/8 around 11:45am, I asked the GM how was Kingsley's stay, and he replied "good". I expected to hear more than just good as an update, but ok. As the GM brings out my baby, he is coughing and honking. I asked the GM about it and he "promised" that Kingsley wasn't sick but was pulling on his harness (not collar). I told him that in all the year(s) that I've had him, he's never made those sounds pulling on a leash. I asked him if he was sure and he stated the same thing. When I got home, Kingsley continued to cough, honk, sneeze, and try to clear his throat. Around 4pm, I called back to inform them that he's still making these sounds and there's no harness or anything on him. The GM said how it was impossible to be Kennel Cough, how they had a slow week, how there wasn't many dogs, etc. The thing is, Kingsley is unaltered, so he couldn't have the play time with other dogs anyway so it doesn't make sense. Kingsley also had soft stool with blood. I asked him if he had noticed or if any staff had noticed and he said no. This leads me to believe that they are not keeping a true watchful eye on the dogs to any degree. The GM says that him nor any of the staff heard Kingsley coughing or noticed blood in his stool. Kingsley was with them for 9 or so days and he did not arrive like that. I've never had any illnesses with him up until this point which I expressed to the GM. My rhetorical question to him was so this is Kingsley's 1st time coughing at my noon pick-up and bloody stool by 4pm and it's sudden onset?! That's ridiculous. The GM denied it and said how we couldn't prove anything without a vet's opinion as he is not one. He said after taking Kingsley to a vet, then we could have "the" conversation. On 12/9, I took Kingsley to urgent care and he, in fact, has Kennel Cough. They loved on him and prescribed him medication. I relayed the GM's messages to them to check for their medical opinion and they made it clear that it's impossible that his very first time showing signs of Kennel Cough and bloody stool was when I picked him up. I called Paws and Friends today, 12/10/24 around 5:30 pm, and confirmed the Kennel Cough to the GM. Did he apologize? No! Did he seem caring? No! His response was that Kennel Cough is not 100% preventable. I could understand that to a certain degree. My issue with him is the denial, suspected dishonesty, and the lack of accountability and customer service. I asked him if there would be any reimbursement for his medical care or even a portion of his stay, the GM said no. I feel that like paying for Kingley's vet care at the bare minimum could have righted this wrong. Quite actually, I would have been the upmost satisfied with a more transparent answer and wellness update upon pickup akin to "Hey, I'm not sure if Kingsley is ill, but we noticed this and that and we'd advise he'd be seen for these symptoms because ( ) isn't 100% preventable. But no, I received an Oh, he's just pulling on his leash, I promise he isn't sick. Oh, he just coughed once, that's not indicative of Kennel Cough. The service and treatment my family received is unacceptable and I cannot recommend Paws and Friends to anyone with pets. Also, I asked the GM if there was anyone that I could speak to besides him, a District Manager, the owner, anyone above him. Guess what, he's the end-all-be-all. In his words, the owner isn't really involved in the business. For boarding, I spent shy of $300 and for vet care, I spent about $280. **Message shortened for update space**
