Watch for inconsistencies in pricing on the shelf as compared to what you're charged at the register. Over the past couple months I've noticed this errors that have been made by the store. I've been charged too much, usually a couple $ more than the shelf price. When I bring the overcharge to their attention, it's quickly corrected and refund made. So check your receipts before you leave the store and drive home. This shouldn't be happening. We need to be able to trust our stores and what they're charging us to be the same as what's advertised price on the shelf. read more

Today my dog had a grooming appointment with Lauren, who was given specific instructions how we want her cut in certain areas and when we picked her up I didn't recognize my dog. I totally despise the cut and the way it looks. I would never go back there!! Lauren was told specifically not to shave the genital and rear areas and to not take too much off the top of the head. Instead my dog was pretty much cut down all the way and shaved in those restricted areas. Very disappointed. read more

I have taken my 4 year old Pomeranian here many times and have never had an issue. The day of my appointment, last minute it gets canceled because the groomer called in. So we had to rescheduled and had to wait another week. Finally we get him in and he gets dropped off at 10am. I get a phone call from the groomer Lauren G at almost 2pm saying she has to send bandit home because he is "too aggressive". My 8lb Pomeranian. It took her almost 4 hours to tell me she couldn't groom my dog. When my fiancé went to pick him up he was half way groomed! She never mentioned that on the phone. No one offered to fix it but had the audacity to try to bill us. The pictures say it all. I would not recommend Lauren nor this location. read more

If I could rate it a zero I would!! Let's just say I took my dog to the grooming center and let me remind you that I had schedule an appointment days before. When I arrived to grooming area, I was greeted by "isnt it late to bring your dog in for grooming? I was shocked due to the fact that was actually a greeting. I should have gotten the persons name but she was the only person grooming a dog approximately 5pm on Sunday! To makes matters worst I have told them that my dog has abandonment issues but to her so called knowledge my dog was aggressive. The only person that I would actually point out is Brian. He felt bad that he wasnt able to help my dog out and had to be turn away. Well sorry Petsmart you have officially lost a loyal customer. read more

It seems she only likes to give attention to the pure, bigger dogs...can't seem to be bothered with smaller (mutt) dogs. I thought she made rude comments and didn't seem to work with them as much. We took out fur baby to petsmart for her first grooming. I highly recommend Brian. He listens to his clients, you can tell he loves dogs and he loves what he does. Our fur baby was at ease with Brian. Dogs can sense the human's vibes. If a groomer is calm and loving, dogs can sense that and it is so much less stressful for our fur babies. Brian is our permanent dog groomer. Great customer service too. read more

Normally I drive to a reptile specialty store 20min away but today I decided to be lazy and check out the PetSmart down the street from my house. All I have to say is that Joseph's customer service is an amazing! I never had to look around for an employee like normal instead I was greeted at the door and asked if I could be helped. He made great conversation, provided me a few extra crickets, and, price matched my crickets with the store I normally go to. DeSkunking dog from hell..... The end.... ^^^ These words were my check in commentary as I checked into this location for the very first time after a move here back in early June of this year....... June 7th it was and will forever be etched into my brains memory...... As pure and utter exhaustion had more than set in s/p the move sent straight from the bowels of hell AND to make matters even more of a challenge: I was all freshly scrubbed, lotioned and scented up and ready for bed and headed outside with the pack of 4 for one last 'potty' session before tucking them all into bed for the evening.... Well that beautifulness was blown all to hell and back in less than 2 minutes as...... Sugar, one of our beloved hairy beasts, in an attempt to protect the family consisting of many creatures and two humans who occupy it, went toe-to-toe or more accurately snout to skunk ass in our back yard around midnight that evening..... On a sideline, I now have an entirely new found respect for skunks..... Their spray alone which was created by mother nature who I suspect concocted that putrid and sensory numbing recipe one evening while sitting around a camp fire in the wilderness kicking it with all the other wildlife creatures who inhabited it and lost a game of rock paper scissors with a skunk; with the skunk winning its wager of yielding and possessing the MOST vile of odors known to mankind, whose ability to render all living creatures who dare to cross one wishing they had chosen death instead..... MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: Product created and sold called: Skunk Off + Last bottle on shelf = We're totally screwed You immediately realize that skunks are a serious inhabitor of a CITY when you enter a pet store and immediately begin to tell a store associate that your dog got spraaaa..... YEP didn't even get to finish the sentence when the awesome PetSmart associate finished my sentence for me with the word "skunk" and then said oh yes, you need Skunk Off and led me to the aisle where there was just ONE BOTTLE LEFT! Connecting the dots to what I would now realize after living in Sac for going on 4 months now is that skunks rule this town... Only they do.... Sugar didn't just get 'sprayed' she battled this thing grabbing it and rolling it releasing it shaking her head and going back for more.... Of course ignoring my commands to cease and desist she would finally wave the white flag when she could take no more and came running back to me with her eyes damn near swollen shut, coughing and sneezing... AFTER I made an immediate benadryl crushed dose and smeared it up in her cheeks, and gums for super fast absorption I would realize my lil baby had swallowed and inhaled more skunk juice than I realized was humanly possible.. The nightmare of bathing outside for she and I began.. AND I didn't have the Skunk Off soap yet so it was brutal... WHOMEVER CREATED this Skunk Off shit is a GENIUS!!!! And I'm sure has more than retired on the proceeds of it since to date its the ONLY thing that has at least neutralized the juice from hell that still lingers on her nearly 3 months later but at least its barely noticeable...... Unless she gets wet.... uuhhhhh...... AND for the record the final score was: DOG: 0 SKUNK: 5 and YES 5 as the mother and 4 babies were back in our yard the very next night frolicking around.........(grits teeth).... We also purchase from this PetSmart our dog food as no one else seems to carry it around here that we have found yet, our kitty cat snacks, catnip and several other pet supplies AND I love their frequent shopper card that consistently gives me discounts on many of our purchases. Good Petsmart location almost exactly like the locations in Citrus Heights and Roseville. I like this location because there is plenty of parking and it's never busy. Located right next to Smart n Final in a slower shopping center. Inside you will find everything else that every other Petsmart carries for cats, dogs, fish and small critters. The employees are helpful, but you will probably only talk to the cashiers because there isn't really anyone working on the floor. But it's a slow store, so I get it. They recently remodeled my cats favorite food section- Iams (Orange Can, Wet Food w/ Filets) so that they now carry more flavors and sizes. Yay! I would recommend this location if in the area, solid store with friendly employees and usually in stock with what I'm looking for. read more

This review is about the grooming salon... I brought my dog Winston (miniature schnauzer) here for a even cut. Grooming took about 4 hours. When I picked him up I gave the groomer (Kelsey) $10 said goodbye and went on our way. As soon as we got home Winston seemed sad I figured it was because he wasn't used to the cut. About two days later he still seems depressed and that's when I notice 3 cuts on his face. One extremely close to his eye. When I picked him up no one informed me of any of this, I never got a call nothing! I immediately called PetSmart management and informed them. All I got from them was my money back and an apologize. 8 weeks later my puppy knows how to sit, shake, lay down, stay, walk properly on a leash, leave items I don't want him to have alone and stop jumping, okay so hes not the best at walking on his leash because hes a rambunctious puppy who is excited about every step I allow him to take but I know with more practice he will be awesome. The whole thing you need to remember is that most of what your dog needs to learn you need to step it up at home and put in the practice. There are times when I thought "That stupid trainer doesn't know what shes talking about!!" But sure enough when I followed through with what she said and the directions she gave and did my homework, my dog became a graduate of puppy school. The staff was really helpful and kind, but the fish department was very off putting. Every tank had dead fish at the bottom and top. In the goldfish tank the other goldfish were nearly snacking on one of the dead ones. It just feels irresponsible...the spread of bacteria can cause even more fish death...some of the wall sucker fish were WHITE and either stuck to filters or were dead at the bottom...I told the cashier an she said its been an ongoing issue that hasnt been sorted out with whos responsibility it is to handle it...but someone needs to read more

Have been here several times the past few years... primarily to get the prescription food for my cat (cheaper than purchasing it at the vet office). - lots of parking available - easy to find this store - check for deals/sales to get better prices (my go to place is Pet Club in Elk Grove for best deals on cat litter, toys, treats, etc. and other cat foods) - staff available to help and courteous, on my recent visit I had three folks ask if I was finding everything OK. - haven't used the vet services - haven't tried the doggie grooming services, but it's always busy and if i had a dog, i might give it a try since the folks I see leaving with their leashed babies seem very pleased. - they have pretty much everything for your pet here - only down side is that the prices can sometimes be on the high side. But, they always have sales going on for various products, the trick is to be there when the item you need is on sale. They do have their PETPERKS program where you'll get coupons emailed to you every so often. Am a regular shopper here and will continue to be - Oh, did I mention you can bring your leashed dog in? As for Cats, haven't see anyone bring their cat in... but cats have staff to do their shopping for them, right? read more

I took our 6 year old shih-tzu mix in for a bath and clip. She gets matted and usually has to go in about 3X a year. We've been going to this PetSmart for years, since we use this Banfield for our vet services. We've always been satisfied with the service and the results. But this week was very different. I know everyone is under a lot of stress and they just reopened a couple of weeks ago. But we had an early appointment and when we walked in, the salon was a mess. Dog hair in piles under each station, grooming utensils on the counter. It didn't appear that anything had been cleaned either the night before or that morning. If this is what we can SEE, what does it look like in the back? When I came back to pick up my pooch, I was told she didn't cooperate, wouldn't stand up or lift her head to be groomed. This is another red flag because we've never had any comments of this nature about her. And when we came to pick her up, the same piles if for we're still under the stations and the floor was covered with new fur. While I was waiting, one if the groomers asked the store manager if he could leave early. He was told to go ahead and leave. Leave?? When there's a mess in the salon?? Pet groomers said my 14.5 year old dog was extremely aggressive which is news to me. At that age she's had at least 60+ grooming appointments and has never had an issue. I mentioned that when she has her feet groomed she likes to put her mouth on her paw to hide them and the groomer took that to mean she bites peoples hands. The groomer then refused to touch her paws and still charged us for the extra package even though she didn't complete the service. On top of that she gave my dog some weird tail, skinny at the base and then it fluffs up dramatically to look like a skunk tail. Who the hell orders/wants that for their dog?! Yet I have been standing in this store for over 10 mins now waiting for them to bring my order up. I literally could have walked in, grabbed it myself, paid and left quicker than this. Not to mention 2 associates walked by me without even acknowledging me...that NEVER happens at other PetSmarts. I just got off of work and spending..now 15 mins in the store after working ALL day was the LAST THING I WANTED TO DO. The "groomer" Lauren G called after the "service"and said our pup was aggressive and she was going on and on about how awful my sweet babe was. I was actually shocked to hear of this. My dog has NEVER in her entire life ever been aggressive towards anyone or any other animals. Lauren was extremely rude, argumentative and had ZERO customer service skills whatsoever. She needs to find a new career because obviously her negative demeanor must have impacted our sweet girl, and this isn't the first negative review about issues with her. We will NEVER take our pets there again. I suggest anyone looking for groomers to look elsewhere, but if you do go to PetSmart, do not ask for Lauren. She's awful. Well I brought my maltipoo in December of last year 202I. August 1. He is a rescue from Lodi the most beautiful sweet puppy in the world. I took him in to Rocklin petsmart because Roseville was booked out. I take my daughters Samoyed to Roseville. But her groomer left for another state. We put in notes not to-thim out her tail do not trim do not cut off the ends of her tail and verbal . All all was done to tail against our wishes .when we picked her up his tail was still wet. Than ask ti finish the blow dry it. Well with a huff and puff they did. Found out her tail was basically butchered. We made a comment. But paid and gave a tip. Back to my maltipoo. 4 months I had him approaching Christmas 2021. I toke him into the Rocklin ca because Roseville was booked. Asking for a bath and a slight trim. A silhouette. Went over in detail do not shave him I brush him twice a day he is more poodle. Kinky fur. I was assured no problem he looks good. I get back to pick him up. And he was shaved. His face his paws his butt to the pink. I was In Shock. The groomer went on to insult me saying don't you ever brush him. What. I told her yes with what slickers etc. I was so confused. I rescued my puppy a few months . I cried in my car I had to look twice to see if this was my puppy. He does this lil skip while walking or i would not of thought it was him. he just gets sick on car rides so I take him close by. and my daughter and I have taken our previous puppy's of 25 years to petsmart. So this was a shock. I got home and my husband who loves this puppy said why would any one do this. He called the store They apologized and gave a refund for The charge. But you can not put a charge on abuse. My puppy was devastated and licking his butt for two months and it was Christmas I had to purchase sweaters to cover him on walks. So I am a I give back chances one bad groomer doesn't make a bad salon . I booked in Lincoln . Ca I am on the way. I was called told you can not bring him hee. There is an altercation on your file. So my puppy is abused I'm abuse and they are punishing the client for one groomer. I called the Rocklin store they said they are calling now all should be ok. So I go to my appointment. The most rudest person that told me like I was a terrorist they canceled my appointment. They didn't receive a call from manager of Rocklin. so we will not allow you here. So call Rocklin. . . Put on hold three times the third time they never came back to the phone after 20 minutes on hold. Call customer service I guess a call into the Rocklin ca store tomorrow. Oh that should help I talkEd to them three times. Oh we are calling the Lincoln store right now to clear this up. Never did. . Again.long story short. My puppy was abused to allow this groomer to justify her behavior and setting a precedence of other groomers or firing that groomer along with McKenzie. I wish I could give 0 stars. My girlfriend and I made an appointment to adopt a kitten that I fell in love with. We come back a day later, even earlier than the time we were supposed to come and they tell us that they ADOPTED OUR KITTEN TO SOMEONE ELSE !!! The night I made the appointment I asked the girl 3 fucking times if it was certain we were going to be the ones to adopt her and she said YES, she is off limits until we come. I left in tears !!! If I need food, bedding, toys, etc for the ratties I usually head to Petsmart. There are a lot of books, cages, harnesses, collars, habitats, vitamins and just about anything a pet owner needs, although sometimes I have to think outside the box and go to the bird section for toys (the selection for rodents seems limited mostly to hamsters with a few for the others - I don't like hamsters). That's not to say they don't have toys for rats. They just don't have as big of a selection as I would like (rats LOVE toys). I got a great deal on a fantastic critter condo here and the rats went bananas when they moved in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I once had a product that was missing a piece and they replaced it like "blam!" no problem, no hassle. I also noticed they carry super cute doggie clothes for bigger dogs, not just chihuahuas and such. This is good news for Buster (my mom's American Bulldog) because he does love his fashion. Put him in a Mr Rogers sweater and he struts around, striking poses, and feeling very dashing. They also have doggie life jackets, which is something Buster really needs since he loves to swim, but has hip issues that make it difficult and dangerous (the Consumnes runs through his yard so that's a serious issue!). Now when we snorkel or float around on a boat we don't have to worry about him drowning. read more

I've been going to the petsmart for a long time now, and I'm not happy about Jennifer's grooming service at all. Been at this store in person few times and always great and friendly service and today I called about my Mexican red knee tarantula just to ask if I should keep babies in same cage with mom tarantula and even over the phone lady employee was happy to help me answers my question with great attitude. PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE TAKING YOUR DOG TO THE GROOMERS. This rating is going for my experience I had at the Groomers. So I called in for my dog and asked to see if I needed to make an appointment for a Nail Trim. The lady on the phone was rude and mentioned that they were short staffed and for me to come in at 2pm (I called at 12pm) because the Nail Trim for dogs was delaying their grooming time for the dogs. So I did my research online and found out you don't need an appointment for Nail Trim. (I've took my dog plenty of times to many locations and it literally only takes 5 mins to get them done.) and BTW, IDC if you're short staff anywhere that just sounds like a company problem to me. So fast forwarding, I walked in at 12:45 and ask to have my dogs nails trimmed. The lady was again so rude and said "We don't have anyone here til 2pm) and I go "well then I'll wait" and she goes "you're going to wait an hour?!" (In a rude tone of voice) and I go "yup, I'll wait" (knowing that they don't do appointments for Nail Trims. The lady that I spoke to on the phone sounded like the lady that was being rude in person. Luckily, when I was about to walk out the Grooming Salon door, this kind gentleman offered to take care of me and Chewy (my dog). I love this location and most of the people here but that lady really gave me a different experience than what I normally experience. While she was being rude to me, she seemed very irritable with the poor dog she was grooming, and commanding the dog to sit still. I would never let my dog around that lady, I hope that one day someone will also report her for her horrible work ethic and rude customer service. She definitely does not deserve to be around any of those poor pets. If I can remember the Gentleman's name that was working during the time 12:45-1:30pm, I would most definitely rate him 5 stars. He was great AND he reminded me that there really is good and PATIENT people out there. read more

Order is paid for already, it says they were working on it yesterday and I've been waiting.. yet he can't do anything but refund me or send this to corporate for review (takes 1-2 days) . What if this was my last $100 and I spent it on dog food? Now I have to wait for my money to come back and the dogs don't get to eat? Luckily that's not the case, but their 'policy' is stupid and as a manager he should be able to override things like this. Terrible service . read more

We bought a new lab puppy for our family because the boys are now old enough to take care of a dog. Jack has been an excellent addition to our family. We went on a search for a groomers and cool pet toys and stopped by this petsmart. Wasn't initially going to get Jack groomed here but the employees out on the floor were very helpful and very nice and convinced me to give it a go. A 10.00 puppy special helped seal the deal. I told you all that to tell you this. The lady in the grooming section we dealt with the first two times was very nice. She explained the county rule regarding rabies vaccination paperwork for groomers and we brought her the copy of what the SPCA had provided us. Jack also had his tags. On the third time, we were confronted by this little gay guy with a faux beard, a red smart car and serious attitude, who told us we had to go back home (a 20 min drive) and bring back the paperwork because they had no record. 40 min later, having the paperwork, he then proceeded to tell us they were booked and couldn't accept anymore dogs that day. I calmly explained to him we wouldn't have been late if he hadn't lost the paperwork we brought in 2 weeks before, he rudely told us to get out because no argument was going to get them to take our dog. (My dog still has on his licence which you can't get without a rabies shot but lets not let logic enter in here.) He was rude, dismissive, and supremely arrogant. Its the first time ever I was told to "get out". Which, I suppose, would have been acceptable if I had been yelling, but I hadn't. It was truly surreal and this little dude was just an a$$. End of story, I'm happy now, I vented. So, the end result is we go to Petsco for grooming. The rednecks are nice and they never call when the dog is ready and they are more expensive but anything beats a frustrated gay guy with a big ol' mad on and dying for a reason to "jazz hand-bitchslap" you out the door....lol read more
