The grooming service is not good. The cut for my dog was not what was requested. They totally disregarded the grooming instructions given when I dropped off my dog. I have a long haired dachshund and asked that her legs ears and tail be left long but they shaved her all the same length. I will find a new groomer. read more

This store has misleading advertising. I drove all the way there because I read a big sign stating $20.00 off for new customers. When I was there talking to them, the sign was right behind her. She now states that it is 20.00 off if you accept two packages. That information was not on the $20.00 off sign. I canceled my appointment and left. They had a few kitten and cats for adoption. I adopted a kitten today, he seems healthy and playful. I will see if anything changes in few weeks. Adoption fees are too high, $125 for a 4 month kitten. They gave me some coupons, but needed to read them carefully to be able to get the best deal, cashier or other people are no help. Everything in this store is way overpriced, example: $20 for a plastic litter pan. I recommend getting all the equipment from Amazon, Chewy or Walmart, they also have better options. read more

I didn't learn my lesson the first time. I needed a last minute haircut for my miniature schnauzer. Showed the girl a picture of how I wanted my dog. She promised me that she could do it. My dog has never looked so mangled in his life. She cut off his beard, eyebrows, and his skirt Ian nonexistent. I was so mad! I will never go back for anything. Not his supplies, food, or treats. I have a German Shepard (Bronson) in 18 weeks of training total as I purchased the puppy, intermediate and advanced package. Anytime I come in with a question or looking for another opinion, the staff is so helpful and genuinely good people. Also used the grooming for cleaning up my 10 week old pup and had him declawed. So last week the store managers couldn't figure out who was supposed to open the store in the morning so I had to reschedule my dogs grooming appointment to this Sunday. When I asked about getting some kind of discount I was told there is a bell you can ring. That's great except if no one is in the store to hear this bell they can open the door now can they??? So yeah no discount no apology for having to rearrange a second weekend. Then as my dog is waking out of the store he decides he is going urinate on the floor in the breezeway before entering the store. I asked one of the workers if I could get something to clean it up and mind you I have a 85lb golden retriever and a 12lb cavapoo at this point that I am trying to get out of the store because people who don't know my dogs think it's cute to let there dogs just approach my dog. The associate looks at me rolls her eyes and says "whatever, that's not coming out of there". Then I put my dogs in the truck and come back up to the store just to hear them talking about me and how I just let my dog do this on the floor. I approached them and reminded them that I offered to clean it up and you were rude to me. So summary I offered you were rude, then talked about a customer, got caught by customer. Made an appointment to have our two great pyrenees groomed this afternoon. I booked a basic grooming package at $46 each and when my husband got home after dropping them off he said they were charging us $192 total. That was strike 1. I called to make sure they weren't shaving our dogs, because you are not supposed to shave great pyrenees. When I called they told me that we had to come pick our dogs up because they could not bathe them. They said that the youngest one, who is 8 months old, tried to bite them which I have a very hard time believing, as he has never once been aggressive with us or any other person or animal. I have bathed him at home and he has never tried to bite me. He has been to the vet and had shots, nail trims, and blood work done and never once has he exhibited aggressive behavior. These people obviously do not know how to handle dogs. I would never bring my dogs back to them. read more

This store has a pretty decent selection for dogs, however I will not be taking my dog there for grooming anymore. I really feel like they don't take the time, or care for the dogs like smaller animal salons. The last time I went there the girl didn't even finish cutting my dogs hair. She said he was moving to much, but I got there before he was done and was sitting there fine. Plus it's way to expensive for their services!! Animal medical Center of Wentzville does a GREAT JOB with cutting your dog without actually causing harm to you pet like THIS PLACE DID! I get it that things happen, but when my dog goes back for the free cut they offered as a way of saying "sorry for making your dog need stitches); these great people decided to shave the dog next to bald.. When your dog comes back looking like a Bald-headed Chihuahua and he's a Maltese-Yorkie Mix that keeps just a short cut and he's never looked like that before, DO NOT BOTHER CALLING, just chalk it up to bad skills and move on and get your dog groomed at another place! I have been shopping with this store since it had opened. I have had several cases happen where i will no longer go to petsmart. 1st instance the grooming, I had taken in my Siberian Husky to be groomed and had picked him up with "rug burns on his skin" to the point on some areas of his body had a rash with broken skin. 2nd instance, i had given the groomers another chance and had dropped him off at 130pm and didnt get to pick him up until 7pm having recieved a phone call stated that he was extremely stressed out and had a accident that he would have to be rebathed and brushed out. Finally, was able to pick him up with his fur not all the way dried and extremely stressed out bringing him home. A week later, he had started to get diarrhea, to the point where he had blood in his feces. Taking him to the vet immediately to find out that he had picked up a virus at the groomers from either contaminated water, expired food, or exposure to feces of poorly being cleaned. I had called groomers back after taking my dog home from the vet with having an $80 vet bill, to ask if they had given him any treats. "the lady had responded well of course," i stated would you please check expiration date on those, She had said she was sorry but they were expired over a year's worth and that she didnt know. Being a pet store you should not be having this problem. 3rd instance had gone to get all new toys and a new bed considering he had picked up a virus having to throw everything away. Found a toy on clearance for $4.99 decided was going to get two of them, get up to the register for the cashier to tell me one came up as $4.99 and the other $14.99 whe they are identical toys only being a different color. She had called the manager over and the manager major attitude had stated select toys are and some arent i said they were on the same wrack for $4.99 she goes i dont know what to tell you after rolling her eyes at me and then walking away from the situation. I decided to put the toy back and so did several customers behind me thinking they were on clearance for $4.99. 4th instance i had taken my 18 wk old puppy to the vet at the petsmart for having diarrhea, vomitting, wouldnt eat, or drink anything loosing alot of weight a couple days later. The vet stated that it would cost $600+ dollars to figure out what was wrong with him or he would just die. This is very unprofessional in my eyes. The vet also had told us a couple weeks before that we had brought him in for vaccines that "oh if you dont want him and cant afford him, I would take him." we arent bringing our animal there for this rudeness nor unprofessionalism. I had taken my puppy to another vet immediately the same day stating that he would be just fine and that he had just the puppy flu given him medications to help him feel better with a follow up appointment to check on how he was doing. Immediately given us a diagnosis and a calm response unlike petsmart vets. My family & I will no longer be bringing our animals to petsmart!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! read more

Tonight, I was returning a carpet cleaning machine from Wentzville, Missouri's Petsmart. I had to rent this machine after only a week because of a very sick dog. My first rental experience was fine - the manager and staff at the store were both helpful and nice. Tonight however, that was NOT the case. M was checking out people in line - he was apparently the only one working??? There were 2 people in line when I entered. After he had checked out more than 6 people I started feeling a little irritable. I was waiting with my receipt out behind his register near the rug cleaner hub which is where I had been told to stand not 5 days prior when returning the machine. M, apparently - has different rules? As he was checking out his seventh customer without acknowledging my presence, another worker approached and motioned to the eighth man in line to come on over to her register. I exclaimed "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" M turned and smiled at me. I asked him if he had any idea how LONG I had been waiting. He said "Yes, and if you'd like to get in line, I would be happy to help you." I asked him why it hadn't occurred to him to say this earlier. He continued grinning. After 5 more customers, it was my turn. I asked M what his particular rules and procedures were regarding the return on carpet machines. He promptly answered that "I don't have no special rules." I was surely impressed. He attempted to make small talk about being as frustrated as I was and I informed him of his duty as a worker in that establishment to HELP customers. I am so frustrated with the lack of adequate customer service at this store that I will NEVER shop here again. There are plenty of pet stores in this area. I plan to personally call the corporate office during business hours tomorrow to inform them of this employees lack of customer service training as M informed me he was the manager on duty. read more
