When one our dogs had cancer and was on chemo she had to be separated from other dogs but the staff made sure she had extra cuddles and walks not to mention giving her the meds. Their interview process was so professional; talked me through everything upfront so I knew what to expect. Facility: very clean! My dog never comes home "stinky" even after a few days of boarding and all-day play. Also appreciate the ability to check on my doggy via the live feed cameras. Staff: so far everyone I've interacted with has been very nice. I was a helicopter mom the first time I boarded my baby with them and, in addition to stalking the live camera feed (I have no shame), Devin was patient with me when I called and gave me a play by play on how my dog was doing. If your little shi tzu mauled your kid, don't go to Cesar Milan. Get thee to an ACVB diplomat, a vet that is an animal behaviorist. Speaking from experience on this! Going to Dr. Haug was INSANELY expensive--b/c she is the top dog--heehee. It was very informative, but I was at a loss in knowing how to apply this knowledge to my home life w/o taking a second mortgage. I wish I had started w/ Sit Stay, and Obey! Sheila directly applies the theory and science AT MY HOME! My stupid dog can act like Lassie at an expensive, highly structured dog training facility. But my stupid dog won't act like that when he's with stupid me. Haha, I get that the majority of the solution lies w/ training me. Sheila came over to our house. She listened to the issues we had, helped us prioritize what needed to be worked on first, watched us, had us watch her, then had us try what we learned right there in our living room. She helped us get on a plan--realistic plan based on what we could actually achieve. And we had clear next steps and check-ins. I appreciate theory and information, but I am not smart enough to connect the dots into applying the knowledge at my house. I literally need someone to show me how to do this in my house, with my dog, and my family. We have since rehomed our little shi tzu at a god-send home w/ no kids. We now have an 8 month, almost 80 lb puppy that has benefited from working w/ Sheila since its first month on this earth. Because of Sheila our three-year old toddler is now empowered to help train and safely play with the monster (still always under our supervision of course). Sheila is guiding all of us to have the BEST relationships w/ the puppy and the puppy w/ us. It's quite beautiful after the scary start for my baby... They informed me that boarding the Great Dane over the holiday was going to be impossible (Not Surprised!, big dog, late notice) But what we were really interested in was home pet sitting, which they kindly offered as an option. The sitter came by for the meet-the-pets and was super friendly and clearly loves animals! We felt no apprehension leaving the keys to the castle in her hands! On Thanksgiving we were surprised with an adorable Happy Thanksgiving picture with our 2 dogs and cat! All of our friends and family were just as pleased as we were! The Great Dane has figured out how to get out of her crate and made a few messes, which the sitter cleaned for us. (Sorry about that, and THANKS AGAIN!!) Couldn't have had a better experience, and now that we've done it once, we will assuredly use PP again for any of our pet sitting needs!

J-Canine and most specifically, Martine Kopka, have been a MIRACLE for our family. They were…read morerecommended to us -- by both our wonderful at-home trainer and our vet practice -- as "the best" (especially for our very active working breed dog). The care and expertise that they have shown our Buddy has been transformative... for all of us! This is a long-established care and training facility... and the dog's care, training, family integration, and safety are their hallmarks. After having our active vizsla spend 3 successful overnight stays at the farm, we opted for an intensive month-long, board-and-train stay. Buddy was kept in a very comfortable "suite" with his own indoor/outdoor access (during supervised hours), comfortable amenities, and even a lttle television for "white-noise" and company. Martine is nationally renowned and respected-- and for good reason. She is first and foremost an expert in understanding and training these precious creatures, and she is secondly SERIOUS about the training for our pup and our family. She has been open, respectful, and communicative about our exact needs, as well as Buddy's. After the very hard month (for this doting mom and dad) away from our Buddy, we returned to a pet who had tools and strategies for living politely, attentively, calmly and engaged. Martine and the J-Canine staff were patient with our frequent check-ins and always honest and clear in answering our questions and concerns. Buddy received consistent and loving-care and training -- all from a dedicated POSITIVE approach. Buddy is 18 months old, and we are realistic about the training and commitment that lies ahead. As Martine explained, he is just in "kindegarten"... but ready to move ahead... AS ARE WE! NB: If you want access to your own video cameras, frills that mean nothing to our pets (and are merely in place for our comfort), or only glowing reports about your animal, then this may not be the place for you... BUT if you want real care and serious training, then look no further! My husband and I are University professors, experienced dog-owners, and travel 40 minutes (each way) to take Buddy to this wonderful place! THANK YOU, J-CANINE AND MARTINE! But after being attacked by much larger dog, he was suffering from PTSD. We chose j-canine as we liked the look of the facility. We were so lucky to get Martine as our personal trainer. Our boy has made significant progress in just 3 visits we have had with Martine. She teaches him what he needs to know and provides videos for me to watch and detailed instructions, and off we go. Between the lessons she gives us and our boy, the instructions, and the videos she recommends and my work with him, I am so much more confident in my interactions with him and so much more capable of helping him. My husband and I are thrilled and amazed with the progress he has made in such a short time. We feel we are very close to having our precious, loving little guy back.
