Met a friend here for lunch at her suggestion. We arrived at 11am when they opened and was seated at a table in the corner by a very nice waiter. I ordered the orecchiette pasta with sausage meat and it was delicious. The portion was a good size. Since I got full on the complimentary warm baguette with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, I ended up eating only half my pasta and took the rest home. It was even better the next day!

I would give this place a solid 3.95. The food was good, however it lacked a little bit of flavor. The service was great. Parking was very easy. The ambiance was pleasant, it's a quiet spot for dinner. It wasn't the best italian food i've had but it was good enough.

Lunch specials - Orecchietta Con Salsiccia and Spaghetti Con Polpette. Yummy !

Fun Fact: the restaurant name means "Pieces of my Heart" - Three decades of restaurant experience centered in a cute, cozy, Italian restaurant in Sports Arena, opened earlier this year in 2025. I came here 10 minutes before the restaurant opened and the owner welcomed me and my friend in right away. With inside and outside options, we decided to sit outside on their patio to soak up a little breeze and San Diego sun. I love Italian food - the comfort of pasta, wine, friendly conversations and warm hospitality and this place hit those aspects. I loved that they have lunch specials, with generous portions. I got the Spaghetti and Meatballs and wow it did not disappoint. The dish came out hot, and spaghetti was perfect al dente. Marinara sauce was delicious - made with olive oil and basil on top. The meatballs are made with 100% angus beef and you can taste the quality - very tender. I also got to try the Orecchiette Con Slaccia - ear shaped pasta with Italian sausage, broccolini, tomatoes in a white wine cream sauce. WOW - just the perfect amount of cream - not too heavy and delightful to devour. Most of all, one of the owners - kept checking in on us and was just so sweet. He talked about the generations of cooking, love for Italian food, recipes.. I really hope this place gets more traction - come visit them and give them a try for delicious food with great hospitality.

I decided to order takeout today. I worked from home pretty intensely and I was craving some type of comfort noodle that I didn't have to cook. Bucatini Primavera in white sauce (not cream) ($25 with tip) was what my little heart alit upon, and Pezzi Del Mio Cuore gave me a delicious piece of theirs in a delightfully fresh and light olive oil / garlic sauce. The perfectly cooked veggies were all of my favorites: broccoli, string beans, mushrooms, zucchini, and carrots. It was a very generously sized portion that I doused with red pepper flakes and parmigiana. It was really delish, and I enjoyed it. Service over the phone was efficient and it was equally so during pick up. One minor complaint is that some of the sauce escaped from the to go container - aluminum bottom and plastic cover - so the entire outside of the container & the bag became slick with olive oil during the short journey home. In the grand scheme of things, it was no biggie. I would consider Pezzi's decor to be eclectic modern, Lots of red accents, a cornucopia of different chandeliers and light fixtures, and warm wood furniture. It's not to my taste per se, but it is clear that it was done with intention & care, and it makes for a pleasant ambiance. This is a solid Italian Restaurant with attentive owners & staff, reasonable prices, and plenty of parking. It's easy to get to from the 8, 5 and if you're in the Loma Portal Area for an event at Pechanga Arena, a visit to Sea World, or just because, you'll be in for a good time.

Nice little mom and pop Italian place in a strip mall. Wait staff is super nice. Menu has lots of choices at different price points. Easy parking. We came early so we got a table but it does fill up. Clean and comfortable but small. I had the mushroom ravioli. Delicious and good portion size. A little heavy but yummy. Calamari is also good. The pieces were tender and not chewy. Also had clams and mussels. They were fresh and well seasoned. It comes in a red tomato based broth.

Ordered through uber eats - it was alright. Nothing bad but not fantastic either. The rigatoni Amatriciana was ok - fairly average. It was a good amount of food and arrived very hot, but didn't stand out in terms of flavor, especially in the sauce. The meatballs tasted more like hamburger balls - felt they didn't have the texture and flavor that you'd want. The sauce they were in was good though.

The food here was good. The service also was really good. The flavors were fresh and delicious Gnocchi was pretty good and the other pasta dishes were good as well. It's worth going to.

The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Family feel, cozy type of ambiance. Food is tasty and their portions are generous. They also offer happy hour 4pm-5pm with great options like calamari, a few pastas and wine and beer, etc. Great place to have in the neighborhood

Out of the 3 pastas we had, I liked the penne with funghi sauce. It's build your own kind. If you're a mushroom lover, this dish is what I would recommend. The gnocchi with burrata is decent - gnocchi i's soft and the sauce is like creamy marinara. I'm very picky with my carbonara so this is my opinion - spaghetti noodles could be aldente; sauce seems legit (not Alfredo sauce) but too much pancheta oil. Calamari is made of large squid rings, large tentacles, which makes the shrimp look small. Batter is light but not as crispy as I hoped for.

The delicious scent of garlic drew us in to this new gem! We had goals of grabbing something quickly to go watch the sunset and this place was both quick and incredible! The menu options were vast and the prices were very reasonable. For pastas made in-house I was very impressed! I loved that my Eggplant parm dish was filling enough to not require pasta with it. Of course I still had to try my friends' gnocchi and fettuccine dishes - all were *chef's kiss* amazing! I will most definitely be returning here to try the dining in house experience next time. There are so many things I saw that I want to try! The place was clean and had plenty of parking available out front. Win-win!

We were patiently waiting for this place to open because I love pasta! I was even more excited that I can walk to the restaurant! We walked in and there were a few patrons, but even before we walked in, a gentleman greeted us outside with the biggest smile and I knew it was going to be good! We had a table of five and decided to order several plates so we can try it all! Our server was Brian and he was so nice. He was very engaging and checked in on us to ensure everything was just right. He spent time talking to us and getting to know us, he wasn't rushed with the conversation and that type of service always goes a long way! For our appetizer we ordered the calamari and steamed calm dish. The calamari was so light and airy and fresh! I don't think I've tasted calamari that good! It also had zucchini which I think was sautéed and made the dish even better! And the marinara sauce..out of this world! The steamed clams were also good and very tasty, we devoured those appetizers. For our mains we ordered the Gnocchi Al Caoresse, Spaghetti Carbonara and the Oricchiette Con Salsiccia. The Gnocchi was so good and the sauce was so tasty. I've never had Oricchiette now that was good, but my favorite by far is the Spaghetti! A mouthful of flavor with every bite! We ended the night with dessert, we decided to order the tiramisu and Brian brought us an extra dessert on the house! I am not a fan of overly sweet and let me tell you those desserts were perfect! I personally don't like a menu with a lot of food items because I feel too many dishes takes away from the flavors, but Pezzi Del Mio Cuore may have just proved me wrong, you can tell that every single dish we had was made with passion..thank you chef! I will be going back to try more of the pastas! If you are in the area please stop by and support, this gem has it all, great food, great atmosphere and the service...out of this world!

A couple of brothers have opened "Pieces of My Heart" in the Midway Towne Center of Point Loma where some former South American eateries had operated in that space. Pezzi Del Mio Cuore Chophouse & Trattoria debuted less than two weeks ago in this lovely refurbished suite. The east side of this plaza has plentiful parking spaces in the shared lot. My guess was that approximately 50 customers could be seated in the dining area. The menus were printed on paper and featured a sheet of specials, a list of non-alcoholic drinks since they don't have their ABC license yet, and the regular food offerings. The last was a page containing salads, pasta (preset or build your own combo), secondi, antipasti, and desserts. It was late when I arrived on a weeknight, and most of the chairs had already been stacked up for the evening. The kitchen was still operating so I quickly selected the Cioppino from the secondi which were the meat and fish entrees. While waiting for my bowl to arrive, complimentary pieces of bread with a dish of balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil for dipping were provided. The Cioppino was a Mediterranean fish stew that contained calamari, clams, mussels, shrimp, and whitefish. Five pieces of bread were included and lined the perimeter of the serving vessel. For the $25 price, the amount of seafood was quite generous. The broth was seasoned well and flavorful. It filled me up enough that I asked for my dessert order to go. The Cassata Cake caught my attention as I have not seen this item before. It was a Sicilian shortcrust cake made with sweetened sheep's riccota cream topped with dark chocolate drops. The cake was certainly less sweet than the traditional Italian desserts on the menu (e.g. cannoli, panna cotta). The staff was even kind enough to add a piece of lemon flavored cheesecake in a separate takeout box. The cheesecake was dense and yummy as expected. I do hope the business can succeed as they have a public grand opening coming up on the 28th of this month. They may need to reevaluate their evening hours of operations especially on the earlier weekdays when not as many folks are dining out. My meal at Pezzi Del Mio Cuore was between a four and five star rating.
