While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. A very pleasant and friendly worker showed up and got right to work. He used a hand blower to blow any leaves and debris from the gutters. There was one gutter that had shreds of roofing shingles inside the elbow. He removed the elbow, cleaned out the debris and hosed down the gutter to make sure water ran out with a good flow. A little before 1:00 I got a text saying the crew would be there in 45 minutes (about 1:30). When no one showed up by 2:30 I called, and was told the texted time was a mistake, but the crew would be to us at 5:00. At 5:30 I got a call saying they would be there at 6:00. About 6:30 I called to cancel the order, but the office was closed. The crew came at 6:45 and I sent them away. The next day I got an apologetic call offering to reschedule for a morning shift (8-12) and give us a discounted rate. Being gullible, and cheap, I said OK. I got a text at some point during the rescheduled morning saying the crew would be late, and by 12:40 we'd had enough and canceled the order. So, they stood us up a total of 4 times. We'll never know if they would have done a good job because the scheduling process was completely messed up.
