It's an unassuming location but we wanted pho and so here we were. We picked our own seat and sat down. The service is okay. The lady is nice once we found something in common with her. The guy can be a bit abrasive and doesn't know how to talk to young kids, kinda scared my four year old. Food was good. Grilled chicken sandwich was great. Everything was delicious and plentiful here late Sunday night on the July 4th weekend: green papaya and grilled beef salad, shredded chicken salad, chicken and brisket pho, and the grilled pork banh mi my son ordered just to try. We saw what they ordered after our food already came out and we said we wish we had gotten the pupu platter too but we knew we would Be too full ! I ordered the XL Pho combination and then told them to add the squid and shrimp for $5 more ($17 total). This was SO HUGE, tasty and filling. I will definitely order this over and over again! Definitely recommend their pho and bubble tea! You can taste the amount of time they put in their broth for the pho. Their Chinese menu when it is available is definitely not worth it but their other menu is. Plenty of parking and approximately 12 tables inside with seating for 2-4 people a table. read more

Came here last year hoping to get some nice Vietnamese food. Walked in and there are "pageant " bikini posters of young women all over the walls and an "after dark" channel on the tv. Pho was really good but we found a bug (looked like a gnat) in it. There was at least 3 in my soup, and 1 in my husband's. The owner took it away before I could take a photo of it, and claimed it was burnt stuff from the stew pot. But we definitely saw wings on it. They comped our meal, but we won't be going back. Ok pho, good BBQ pork vermicelli bowl but needs more meat, found a hair in my pho, and ok service. It's a small restaurant with ~10 tables inside and no outdoor seating. It seemed clean enough inside. The man waiting on us wasn't super friendly but we got our food in good time and it was hot. The pho wasn't the best I've ever had but it wasn't bad. I was going to tell them I found a hair in it but they brought us the check immediately after so I think they wanted us to leave as the restaurant was starting to get crowded. Sadly another place that I loved has gone downhill. Got the pho. Soup: overly sweet with no complexity. Definitely not as good as it used to be. Potion/meat: really skimped on the meat. My wife got meatball and tripe and there was less than two meatballs worth of meat cut in quarters. The best Pho restaurant in the area in my opinion. I ordered the vegetarian pho. The tofu was cooked to perfection and they included a wide variety of vegetables to include shitake mushrooms, bokchoy, nappa cabbage, carrots, onions, broccoli, and cauliflower. The menu is extensive but its always great to have options. It is one of the few authentic Vietnamese restaurant that I could find. The beef and noodles were on point and the peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was fantastic. All food came out very quickly and the size of the pho was huge! The service here is fantastic - great staff that is friendly, willing to assist, and frequently make checks on how you're doing. As far as the cuisine, Phantasia advertises itself as a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant. And yes, they have two menus to prove it! You will get both versions when you are seated - the Vietnamese is a little harder to read but you can work through it with a little patience and support from your waitress! In the end, I was very happy with my meal - even though it was a little hotter than I normally handle it!! But I got two meals out of it so I'm not complaining! Really really good Vietnamese! I've had their pho, banh mi, and vermicelli. Their pho broth is good (not the best I've ever had in my life but still good), with tasty beef and noodles. The banh mi is a little small but is authentic with crunchy bread, juicy BBQ pork, and carrots and greens. The vermicelli is also excellent with its sauce, pieces of egg roll and noodles. Did I mention everything is very very reasonably priced? Most items are around $10 with their banh mi in the $6 dollar price range. I've attached a picture of my meal of banh mi and vermicelli and it was only $16 with tax before tip. This is a restaurant that is severely underrated and deserves customers based on it's excellent food, fair prices and authenticity. read more

Decided to grab lunch here on my way back to NY. Restaurant is in the strip mall and not the easiest to find, but it's right next to the Job Lot. You can eat inside since they tables are distanced and they kept the front doors open, which made it a little humid. I did see them sanitize after patrons leave. Ordered the pho, summer rolls and sesame chicken and thought the food was ok. One of the things I look at is how fresh (or wilting) the basil is that they serve with the pho. Server wasn't friendly, but he was quick and efficient. No lunch specials. read more

I am unsure where to begin with this review.. Pho is my favorite food and I am always on the hunt for great pho places around the country.. This place is AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I were only in town for a few days while he was taking a pilot course he was in need of the certification. He ate lunch there every single day and I was able to join him 2 times for lunch and once for dinner! Their spring rolls are AMAZING!! The perfect blend of crunchy and soft. There peanut sause was perfectly creamy and seasoned! I got the vegetable Pho each time. Unlinked me, my boyfriend is a meat eater and tried several different phos including sea food, beef and after seeing my pho and sharing some veggies with him he got a veggie pho and added meat to it. When he got it without veggies he would add double meat. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, the broth was just right. The lady who took care of us was understanding about how much lime and basil I love to put into my pho. The service here is just as great as the food! The same lady served us every time we were there. She was always cheerful, kind, friendly and a smile on her face! She got so used to.us coming in that she memorized what we got and knew before we said anything! She confirmed what we wanted and was spot on every time! I am impressed! What a ripoff!! I have been going to this restaurant for MANY years, since they were in business in Norwich. I wanted to support them during this covid-19. Drove there on Monday and they lost power so I had to go home empty handed. Was determined to support them enough that I made a second trip today (Thursday), it's an hour drive round trip to go there. Ordered two pho combo, a spring roll and a Thai iced tea, the bill was $39! Then to come home and see the Thai iced tea is NOT filled up, 3/4 cup, and the pho were SO SMALL! ( see pictures) every other Vietnamese takeout I've ordered in the past are MUCH bigger and for less expensive! I'm beyond disappointed and will not be returning again after being a loyal customer of theirs for over 10 years. read more

The boiled seafood dishes are a little too sweet but overall delicious especially when you ask for extra spicy. Disappointed they only had crawfish and no longer serve with whole head shrimp. I went into this place expecting at least mediocre Vietnamese food. We ordered the spring rolls and received frozen and fried egg rolls. (The menu has spring rolls and egg rolls) The egg rolls were also frozen in the middle and piping hot on the outside. So essentially we paid ~$6.00 for two small frozen and refried egg rolls. We also ordered chicken pho and spicy beef pho. Both were below average. The beef pho tasted awful, like someone had accidentally dropped half a bottle of fish sauce in it. We felt we couldn't properly communicate with servers since their English was not great. I wanted to order a Vietnamese coffee but called it a day after I received my food. I would not recommend going to this place if you are in the mood for real Vietnamese food. It will disappoint. read more

This is the only place I know around here where I can grab a bowl of pho, and I know it will taste delicious, so that's a plus. My only gripe about the pho experience is that the toppings seem rather anemic compared to other places I've been to for noodles; for example, I only had one sprig of basil leaves last time I ordered my usual pho tai (beef), some bean sprouts, and no jalapeños. I have yet to try the Chinese part of the menu or even the other Vietnamese offerings, though the hubs has, and he loved his bun (vermicelli noodles) dishes, so that might be worth trying. I do want to try their banh mis, and they look good, so that's another plus for this place. Service is always decent, the space is pretty big, and there are almost always people eating here, which is nice to see.
