Jordan, and Anthony missed out on the office party, and kept the office open just to finish our deal. They were celebrating their status as a #1 Dealership... this time I totally agree, and they are deserving. I was on a mission. I began an aggressive search for a car for my daughters 21st bday. I had one week to buy the car, but I was not desperate. My thought was cash speaks quite LOUDLY. Yet a dealership in Countryside acted like my cash was purple, and not green. Their lousy sales technique/person turned into a Blessing for Phillips, AND my daughter. She is always on the go- I don't understand why she thinks "broke, and grown can co-exist". Yet, 21 year olds think they have a world to run. Nonetheless I needed my Road Warrior in a safe used car, with low miles. I absolutely refused to buy her a new car- plus after getting my new car in 2023 my pocketbook was saying... OH NO Sweetie- we are on a budget! With that in mind the hunt began.... I picked Phillips Chevrolet by accident, after I had a horrific experience with that other dealership. The night before I paid the other dealership $18,800 cash for a 2023 Altima (pretty as it was- the test drive was blah, and it was a rental- yuck). The salesperson, and her manager made me so angry- that I canceled the wire after they argued with me- and refused- to make me a 2nd key. Phillips didn't argue about ANYTHING. They showed me a fabulous used car- a 2022 Corolla with low miles. It was a $400 difference, and the BEST $400 I have spent. I left the dealership laughing with the manager (Anthony), hugging the salesman (Jordan), and promising to buy all my future cars from them. When Rami told me the price- he did not haggle with me. He was straightforward and I respected their position on the pricing. They went down a few hundred, but couldn't any further--- it was already below market value. I got up left, and called my husband for his opinion. My husband checked and said it was way under priced, so I went back to the dealership for the car. My brother who is a large man- gave it a hell of a test drive- through the back woods, fast turns, up hills, etc. I fussed at him for shaking up the car. He said it was a strong car, that rode smoothly. I felt good that they weren't selling me a lemon. To guarantee they weren't - we negotiated to include the extended bumper to bumper warranty. I went back the next day to pick up a clean, freshly washed car. As a contrast- my nervous were horrible at the other dealership I was anxious/ uncomfortable when I signed, and second guessed myself all throughout the deal. Whereas, I was thrilled and excited about the car from Phillips Chevrolet. I gladly wired them the $19,000 + and took photos of my car. After taking photos with everyone, and my brother getting his $100 referral (which he didn't share with me :(-- LOL. My husband came to thank them for not causing me to "snap off" like the other dealership. He said - now he can have Peace in the House. After the hugs, photos, and jokes they gifted me with sweatshirts, hats, keychains, and bags. Now I can buy a big red bow, and give it to my daughter. I'm making her wear the sweatshirt and hat for the photos. SIDEBAR: Out of the last 5 car purchases I have made in 7 years- this was the absolute BEST experience ever!!!! I bought a brand new dump truck from them back in December, they ran my credit three times. I had a 850 credit score, it took them all day long to do the deal, I still cannot license plate on my because they will not send the proper paperwork to the state. I've called multiple times and have a whole stack of emails that they are not smart enough to figure out they need to send the paperwork from the outfitter to the state to show. It was a complete when I bought it so I can get license , our is currently writing a paperwork so we can lawsuit for them to buy the truck back and reimbursed for the rental of the truck we've been renting because I can't put license on the truck. TLDR: Find any other place to buy or sell your vehicle, this place passes none of the vibe checks. Phillips Chevrolet is by far the worst place I've ever been to that has bought and/or sold cars, and I've been to quite a few places across the country. I am currently typing this out as I wait for the fourth hour in their show room... please shop ANYWHERE else and give your money to a good company that values you as a person. Phillips might offer a lower value than Kelly's Book Value at first, but please believe me when I saw this is too good to be true. If you do end up saving any money, you will pay it back in full and then some with your time. To prove that I have noticed many things wrong with this "place of business" over the past four hours, and that I'm not just a riled up impatient human, I've decided to share a few of the things I noticed that were off with this place: 1.) They use their sales/leasing consultants as the friendly face of their business and show room. Once they sit you down and listen to your story, they'll be very nice until the point of financing comes up. At this point, they'll send in a "pricing manager" that will try to convince you why they can't budge on price at all. Don't trust the stats they'll try to throw at you, you can bet that they're just trying to support their argument with arbitrary numbers. (Once they relocated me as I mention in point 4 below, I overheard employees actually talking about how they were waiting on a specific customer to come back and accept their original price, going as far as to say "I know they'll accept our price, don't worry, just give it time". Absolutely atrocious customer service. 2.) Their team, from walking in to walking out with a car, consists of 3-4 different parts/teams. While they will expect you to wait patiently, they are often banking on the fact that you won't want to start a scene by saying anything. In reality, their teams are often pushed beyond capacity, creating a backlog that will have you waiting a total of HOURS regardless of if you have an appointment or a walk-in. 3.) The second point above would be better if: the teams actually communicate with each other. After waiting for 3.5 hours for the various "other parties" involved in the process, the dealership finally took out the car I purchased to fill it up with gas. Because they didn't communicate with their service team. At all. For over 3 hours. 4.) After waiting for a long period of time (in my case 4 hours), they will move you to another part of the showroom, out of sight from other customers, to create the illusion that people are actually being helped and leaving! The gimmicks at this place are next to none (as far as car dealerships go). 5.) Everyone in the showroom that isn't an employee is viewed as just a means to an end, so even if you save a few bucks at the end of the day, your money is much better spent at a company that values you as a person and not just a potential addition to their bottom line. To the general manager that I noticed wasn't in store at all today but never fails to respond to these reviews: Mike, I've been on yelp for over a decade and this is the first time I've had service so terrible I felt the need to post a bad review. You should invest in your team through implicit bias training, customer service lessons, and overall customer transparency instead of telling people to provide more information in their reviews so they can be identified and reached out to. There's a reason I left out identifying information about myself, as no call from you or one of the other managers can apologize enough for the disservice experienced together. Not only will I never recommend this place to a loved (or hated) one, I will encourage people to not even glance in this place's direction. I will continue to raise awareness about my poor experience here, so that fellow Americans and POCs in the area will never think about wasting their time and money here. read more

Literally cannot stand this dealership. THIEVES. Double check that paperwork people! The salesman estimates your sales tax for you and then once the real sales tax numbers comes in from the accounting guy, they take that difference, which is probably always more than what was quoted to you, and put in their pockets or at least tried to with me. They tried putting the expense under the remote insurance which I told the salesman and it was in writing with my initials I wasn't getting that. Conveniently, that amount was the exact difference between the sales tax quoted and the sales tax charged. What are the odds....to the penny! That doesn't seem legal to me. The difference should have been taken off, not expensed somewhere else. You bet I marched back in there and demanded a check. And don't even get me started on the service department. They do not call with updates or return your calls when you call to check on the status of your car. They make you schedule an appt and then never even look at your car. They do not care or ever take into consideration that people NEED their cars. If you need to keep my car for so long, you should explain that so arrangements can be made. Courtesy car? Of course they never have loaners available. Don't take the service appt if you cannot service the car on time. They sure had the time to take my money when I bought the car! read more

Contemptuous. My vehicle has been in there twice in the last six months to inspect a new tonneau cover installed by them on my new 80,000 truck. On the first visit I was having routine service work done and I spoke specifically with the accessories division of Phillips to take a look at that failing tonneau cover. They ignored the request, claimed they got side tracked and asked that I bring the vehicle back so they can take pictures. They told me I would need to leave the vehicle for the full day to provide them the necessary time to take pictures. I found that a little absurd, but I agreed. I did return and left the vehicle with the service department to take pictures. Since this last visit they have now asked me for more photos and the mileage. I cant make this up. Nuts. Did they lose the photos or did they not take the photos? Every time you bring your vehicle into a service department the two things they all do is take down the Vin number and mileage of your vehicle. This is contemptuous. They are simply trying to discourage me with these tactics. read more

I have been shopping for a new truck so decided to go to Phillip's Chevrolet because they have a great reputation in the area. I walked in a several weeks back and ordered a custom Silverado pick up truck. A couple of weeks later it arrived so I went in to see it. As I entered the GM approached me and explained that he loved my new truck but he suggested ordering a new truck with the 6.2L engine and he thought I would prefer the extra power. He was not pushy just explained it was his opinion. I did test drive the original one I ordered and immediately understood what he meant. I wanted a little more juice/power, so I agreed and ordered the new truck. As I waited for my new truck the Phillip's GM Mike emailed me updates as the truck was being built and text me a picture yesterday that said "I am keeping an eye on your truck and it has arrived and is ready for you." I went it in to pick it up and I am so happy I waited. I like most people don't love going into car dealerships but Phillip's operates and feels different. I never felt pressured or rushed and drove away very happy. Phillip's gives off the vibe that they want you to be a customer for life not just to buy one car which is what I appreciated most. They offered me $10k below my asking price after the salesman complimented how nice it was and rare to see a 10 year old Tahoe is such good shape. Carmax offer was over $5k more. I expected a lot more than a print out from Kelly blue book when my asking price was clear and they were the people that reached out to me. The worse service center I've every experience and very poor customer service. I had 11am appointment and hours later I was asked if they could keep it overnight. I agreed. The service agent never called to tell me what was wrong with my car because they never performed a basic diagnostic test. Christine (service agent/rep) lied about someone testing driving my car. No mechanic ever looked at my car. She type up a false report. The service manager and Michael the business manager was horrible. Very unprofessional people who lack basic problem solving skills. I have been loyal to Philips Chevrolet for over 40 years. I have purchased several vehicles from there. My last purchase was without a doubt my favorite car. It was gorgeous. I never test drove it as there was no need. It was the one! Unfortunately it had over 3000 miles on it. That was upsetting and nothing could be done. My fault! Needless to say I kept it and quit complaining even after we found melted chocolate and crayons. I purchased all of the extended warranty's per their recommendations because of the amount of electrical options included and was told that down the road u would be thanking them if there was an incident. I paid to have the windows tinted and the interior protected. 3 different service appointments for each. They couldn't get it right. It was costing me a lot of time but we continued. I could make this last with details but I will try to shorten the experiences. The cowl leaked (by the windshield) letting water under the dash and creating multiple electrical shortages. During Philips Chevrolet attempts to repair, I went through 3 windshields, 2 dashboards, 2 steering wheels, I'm not sure of how many batteries, an amplifier and according to Philips, several radios. I don't have an actual count of days they had my car, or the amount of service attempts they made, but I will guess between 12 and 15. It became obvious that they weren't replacing parts as they stated and charged the extended warranty company. The dead give away was that the radio screen would say "Willies Roadhouse" every time you turned the car in. Even after the radio was replaced. Hmmmmmm. I offered $1000.00 to anyone there if they could find another Chevy on their lot that had this same problem. No one would even go and inspect problem. They would just make a new appointment for me. During all of this, I was hospitalized 4 times with 4 surgeries. It was becoming quite inconvenient for me so I reached out to General Motors for assistance. GM was told that I was uncooperative and I wouldn't bring the car in when the issue occurred. Not true! It was non stop. Bottom line: PHILIPS CHEVROLET and their substandard service department won the battle and the war! I spoke to GM and acknowledged that I was defeated. They won. I am in the market today for a new car. Currie Ford will get my business. That is really too bad after I purchased 12 cars from them. I guess I took this personally. read more
