We came back later that evening to try it out and NESH WAS RIGHT!!! The food was served on a warm hoagie bun. I got a chicken philly with fries and onion rings which I didn't have to add salt, pepper nor ketchup due to the flavor was ON POINT!!! I noticed how well the owner and the cook worked together in sync as they cooked, built, and bagged the sandwich. This is my new spot in between teaching bible study on Mondays. Philly G's Plus on Glenwood is definitely a neighborhood gem. I had been to their food hall location at Chattahoochee Works once before, but it didn't really pull me back. This new full-service spot in the Publix Plaza, though? Whole different energy. The moment I walked in, the vibe was laid-back but lively--grown folks, good music, and a welcoming atmosphere. It wasn't overly crowded, but everyone in there seemed to be enjoying themselves, which set the tone for a great night. I ordered at the counter--cheeseburger, ribeye cheesesteak, and fries--then made my way to the bar. That's where I met Tony, who I'm convinced is now my favorite bartender in Atlanta. He served up one of the best Sidecars I've ever had and kept the whole space feeling upbeat and connected. The DJ was equally impressive (and I later found out he's the DJ for the Atlanta Braves). Between the music, the service, and the solid food, this is exactly the kind of spot I love to have in my neighborhood. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the cheesesteak was rich and satisfying, and the fries were perfectly crisp. I had never heard of this place before today... found this place while looking for a Publix for sandwiches, saw them and immediately decided to try them instead. Best decision of the weekend... Staff was super friendly and hospitable, food was fresh and tasty and the vibe was chill and comfortable. If you're looking for a great (traditional) philly cheesesteak, this is the place. Stopped in with a group today and they are so friendly and accommodating. Everyone liked what they ordered-- even the vegetarian in the group who had the veggie cheesesteak. Portions are big and the sandwich is loaded with meat, plus you get a choice of how you want it made including, yes, wiz instead of cheese (if you're into authenticity!). Nice choice of sides (fries, tots, chips, etc) and the fries and tots portions are big enough for two people. First time here! Food was delicious 10/10, service from bartender 5/10. When coming in, maybe 6/7 ppl sitting outside on the stools, 4 ppl on the inside bar. When we sat down she acknowledged us, asked if we were getting food too, and we said yes. We sat and waited for about 8 more minutes. We were thinking it wasn't a good day. So I was craving something sweet. I came in wanting a milk shake..but can't bare to pay $14. So I decided on peach cobbler. Just plain awful, like I really want to climb out of bed, get dressed, risk the cold air hitting me and go get a refund. This is so nasty. Philly G Steaks has been under construction for a while, and finally opened up recently. It's a really nice spot with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Their staff were pretty friendly and welcoming. No complaints there. I got a standard beef cheesesteak, and I have to say, it was quite good. My only complaint is that the peppers and onions were a bit undercooked. They probably are just trying to get the food out fast, but I would have waited for the veggies to be a bit more cooked. read more

Located in the Chatahoochee Food works. The service is quick and to the point. The Chatahoochee Foodworks is a large foodhall with high ceilings and several places to seat. The only concern you have here is being tempted by the other vendors if you want to eat here or not. I will tell you that of the places I have gotten Philly Cheese Steaks in Atlanta, this is one of my favorites. Mostly due to them using cheese sauce and provolone as cheese options. For extra flavor, you can get both. They have ice water as well, which is a Philly staple. The last time I went, I got two diet cokes and instead of just pasing them to me, they put them in the freezer with the ice water to wait until my sandwich came out to give it some extra chill time. I really apprecaited this. They have a counter to sit at and it's fun to watch the chef cook the cheesesteaks. Overall, I would rank this as one of Atlanta's better Cheesesteaks. I would rank Woody's or Weeyums among the top with them. The only thing shorting PhllyG is that their sandwiches are 10" but Weeyums is bigger. So...size matters? Either way, I'm usually pretty satisfied when i leave here and usually crave more later. Definitly better for being on the west side of Atlanta. read more

On 3/24/25 I saw this company on channel 5 advertising their burgers and Philly Cheese Steaks. They looked delicious ON TV! The sandwiches ran over with deliciousness, the Philly cheesesteak was full of meat, onions, peppers & cheese! That was NOT what we experienced. The restaurant was NOT packed, however people were waiting for over an hour and since we drove from McDonough to Glenwood Ave JUST to patronize this restaurant I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! The wait time was ridiculous, the sandwiches were ok at best, salty, minimally filled with much at all. I complained to the "manager" Randy & he OFFERED to refund my money digitally and all he needed was my receipt #, just give him a few minutes while he gets the line down some. If you're hungry for a cheesesteak, you might be surprised by how much it costs. This dainty sandwich is about $17, and that doesn't include anything else like fries or a drink. If you want a complete meal, it could cost around $30. Even the cocktails are a bit on the pricier side. The menu has a lot of choices, but maybe it would be better to just focus on making the best cheesesteak they can. And get rid of items like $14 milkshakes. Since Philly G's is new on this side of town, it would be nice if they had some special deals to introduce themselves. My Server was amazing. I made a to go order from the bar. I was excited because it was new in our area and the ambiance provides something we did not have.
