We made sure to go one last time before they closed up.... hoping they reopen someday! I've had my fair share of cheesesteaks splitting my time between my home of Detroit and Philly, and these are good. There wasn't nearly enough cheese on my final one ordered (they may have been running low? They also didn't have wiz or the Cooper sharp [a big thing I miss when I'm home!] when we visited) but the flavor was still very good. The wait was a bit, but the service is always friendly, and we were offered free drinks for the wait! Only thing that would have been better would be having some birch beer in the cooler/in a fountain. I'll miss this place, not a ton of good cheesesteak options in the area. Go birds! read more

Stopped in here to grab lunch to go. It was very clean on the inside, which is always a good sign. Customer service was friendly. I was a little surprised by the menu because it seemed kind of random. Philly steak or chicken subs, pizza, and smash burgers. All options did seem to have a Philly cheesesteak theme to it though. I ordered two 12 inch Philly subs with white American cheese, two orders of plain fries, and an order of Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. I was shocked when I heard the total was $57, plus I tipped 20%. A very expensive bill. Once I got home and took it all out, I saw the portion sizes were huge. My boyfriend and I could have easily split a 12 inch sandwich and one order of fries and it would have been plenty. There were two egg rolls (and they were huge) so we each ate one. It was pretty much what you'd expect. The sandwiches had great flavor and you could tell the ingredients are fresh and quality. My boyfriend said he wishes there was a sauce or something on the sandwich, but he likes a very moist sandwich. I didn't think it was too dry. The melty cheese did just fine for me. The fries were good. Overall we both enjoyed our food. I will definitely be back here! read more

Gave these guys a second chance after friends recommended. I must say the cheesesteak was much better the second time around. This is def worthy Selection. The hoagie bread they use really helps set this apart from most others in area tried. We also tried their Detroit style pickle pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly with a nice crunch you look for and solid flavoring. Was disappointed however that it had no sauce. I used my own ranch at home which helped to provide the much needed flavor to support the pizza it needed. My husband found this spot so we went to try it this beautiful Sunday afternoon. We love a great Philly cheesesteak and this place delivered. Lots of meat and cheese. I really liked the dice on the peppers and mushrooms, added to the sandwich without overpowering it. My husband thinks it's almost as good as John's roasted pork in Philadelphia. The Fries were fantastic, hot, crisp with the right amount of salt. Really good smash burger, fresh veggies and shredded lettuce, nicely melted cheese. My husband thought the burger could've used more seasoning. You could tell everything was prepared fresh. They have some indoor seating as well as a few picnic tables outside. I really loved what we had and look forward to trying other things like the cheesesteak fries and the pictures of their pizza looks really good. I couldn't wait for Philly's Original Cheesesteaks to open. It does most of its business via carry out, but dine in is an option. However, seating is limited. The staff here is friendly. We have a lot of great food in the Metro Detroit area, but a legitimate Philly cheesesteak has been a hard find. To say the least, the cheesesteak here did not disappoint. The garlic buffalo wings were tasty. For a place that doesn't specialize in pizza, they do a solid job. Lastly, you can never go wrong with egg rolls. I definitely recommend getting the chix sauce with those. Although the cheesesteak it my favorite menu item, Philly's proved to me that they can do more than just cheesesteaks. read more

I have tried it twice now and both times the food was phenomenal. Bonus if you are vegan because they have that option too. I tried the vegan cheesesteak just to see and it was delicious. If I didn't already know it was vegan, I wouldn't have known! They also sell a few beer and seltzer drinks to go. It's a small place and there's a clean little area for you to eat in but I only had carry out. The owner is a very cool guy! I have had the chance to check out Philly's Original Cheesesteaks when they were doing pop-ups around SCS and was SO excited to see them open a storefront! After visiting Philly this summer, these are as authentic as it gets and there is no cheesesteak around that compares. Packed with veggies, meat, and cheesy goodness! Their soft, yummy, Amoroso rolls even come straight from Philly! The owners are the nicest people and a native of Philly so they know their stuff. The Phillycheesesteak was great I would heavily recommend toasting the bread. The ingredients tasted of high quality, there was no compromises taken in selected the perfect sources. On the ride home it stayed hot, however due to the bread being untoasted it started to fall apart. The price for a 12" was approximately $16.00 and they deliver your money's worth in food.
