On a Sunday, I ordered a 10" Mushroom Pizza and added pepperoni. Delivery was fast. 10-inch does sound small, but it's the right size for 1-2 people. My pizza was loaded with toppings and the add-on pepperoni. I found the crust to be just right. Not burnt or overcooked. The crust was soft and sort of fluffy. Philomena pizza isn't cheap pizza. But it's not pricey pizza either. I've tried different pizza places during the Covid-19 shutdown, and few places offer great pizza at reasonable prices. I think Philomena Pizza has good pizza at fair prices. If you're reading Yelp reviews on pizza places, I would bet you're not looking for a cheap pizza that's the size of a wagon wheel. Well....we picked Philomena, simply because it shares the name of my Gramma that passed away. Next time we go, it's going to be picked for all of the delicious reasons we were shown today. It was a nice change from Corned Beef Hash so we were happy to see if on the menu. We overheard a staff member tell another customer that everything on the menu is made in house except the tater tots and waffle fries. I then ordered an OJ mimosa. They have multiple flavors but I like the classic. It was perfect. We made conversation with our server and we asked if they had any shirts for sale. They had my Granmas name on it! Of course I wanted one. Unfortunately they do not. Although they are so cute they should. A little while passed and she came back to our table with 2 shirts and said she was able to get one from her boss for us to buy! What a way to go above and beyond for your customers! We stayed a while, my sister in law showed up and by this time it is late afternoon so we decided to order a pizza. We got the Combo Special Pizza. The one thing I did not get a picture of. On a very rainy afternoon, two of my friends and I decided to visit Phiomena. We were so glad we did. Our waiter was teriffic. I had their burger, which was perfectly cooked and the bun was excellent. The side salad was very good. One friend had their Hawaiian pizza, which was excellent with a perfect crust. First of all, the House Mushroom pizza from Philomena was the best I've had in a while. The Mushrooms had great flavor and earthiness, the sauce was just homemade goodness, and the crust was soft, chewy, and worked perfectly with the toppings. My taste buds were happy. Skip to dessert, their Chocolate Chip Cookies were special and I recommend ordering as many as you can, because I set out to eat one bite and then ate the whole thing. It was gone before I could take any photos. If I'm remembering correctly, they didn't use the usual chocolate chips, but instead, chocolate shavings, which was different. They topped it with sea salt and it was amazing. We also ordered the Cheesy Bread and Plain Pie (added Italian Sausage), but these didn't wow us in the same way. The Cheesy Bread had some super strong garlic and herbs that overpowered everything, so it just wasn't a favorite. The Plain Pie was as expected. I am impressed by how welcoming and kind the person I spoke to was. She quickly and without question offered to address the situation. Then four other parties showed up our food was cold which shocked me they sold toast but I was told they didn't have any jelly which shocked me. So I saw this spot on Check Please Bay Area and the guests gave it rave reviews so I bookmarked it. And I am giving it a rave review too! I had brunch with my cousin on a Sunday morning right when they opened. First we were greeted by Eileen who is amazing! She is so nice, answered all our questions, knows the menu and food, gave us great recommendations, checked in on us and that smile...winning! We ordered a couple 10 inch personal size pizzas. We got the Blackberry and bacon which is sweet and savory and yummy. We also hot the Tuscan which blew my socks off. My first bite was just the crust and I couldn't believe how good it was. The crust y'all! Then the second bite got the rest of the goodness. We added mushrooms and had the egg on top. Damn. I can't wait to go back for that pizza. We also tried the 3 Firelli sauces. The truffle sauce was my favorite. The icing on this brunchtime cake was a Marigold flower wine (by the bottle) made by a local winery! Couldnt pass it up. They also have Lavender which I will try next time. Then we finished with the fluffy bigness with chocolate sauce. I skipped out of there and was at peace the rest of the day! I love this pizza place. We've been here for weekend brunch and dinner several times. I wish they were open for lunch so I can grab a couple orders of their cheesy bread sticks! They are sooo good! They have a marvelous Margherita Pizza which is hands down my favorite! They also have gluten free pizza dough. Only comes in the size of a personal pizza. My daughter with a gluten allergy says that it's pretty tasty. And my hubby and I can't taste the difference. Nor do my other gluten living children. Go to favorite is the Margherita (non-garlic fans and those on a date be warned it is made with garlic, and sometimes the chef is feeling extra generous), and one of my friends loves their gluten free pizza options. Now I don't have to feel guilty about eating pizza in front of her... :) Great atmosphere to catch a Warriors game too, just be sure to get here early enough as seating goes quickly.
