Listen, in this world. We all have to share a lotta love. The HobNob has it al goin' on. I can't remember the wait-staff-persons name (my bad), but she was amazing, and amazingly busy! I can't wait to return and try some pure veggie foods! I love it when I get response from management on little issues. Being ex-FDA, maybe I'm being a bit hyper, but I am so grateful for their attention to quality and customer care. Right on, HbNob! I'll be back!

Had dinner here on a Friday night. To start we had fried brussel sprouts appetizer. For entrees we had the salmon with potatoes and the beyond meat patty melt with fries. From the bar we had a pomegranate margarita and an old fashion. This was my friend's 1st time eating here. We were both happy with our food and drinks. Our server was quick and attentive, offering us suggestions regarding what to try. They start karaoke at 9pm on Friday nights, so maybe next time we'll arrive later to hear the singing! They were just setting it up as we were getting ready to go.

Solid food place with decent vegan options but not many. I'm vegan and have been here a handful of times for breakfast and lunch. The vegan tofu scramble was okay but not anything I would go back for, I'm glad that there was a vegan breakfast option but wish it was a little more creative. For lunch, I've had the vegan fish and chips which was pretty tasty! I like the tartar sauce it came with and the batter on the vegan fish was seasoned well.

So my friend and I went for brunch and time to catch up. We sat inside next to the bookshelf and felt cozy. Our server was very attentive and sweet. We had a couple of cocktails which were pretty and tasty. I had the classic eggs benedict and a salad on the side (potato substitution). The entire meal was great but that salad was my favorite. The dressing was so good. I enjoyed me experience here.

We came out to Alameda to beat the inland heat & had a nice time walking around the downtown area, as well as checking out some lovely breweries. Before coming, I checked out the menu for the restaurant, to make sure they had plenty of vegan & vegetarian options, which they did! Our waitress was super sweet & very attentive, & our food came out fairly quickly. I ordered a half wedge salad without the bacon, & it was absolutely delicious! The dill & toasted almonds were a unique touch. He ordered the Brie Burger, & subbed the meat for a Beyond patty. Super mouthwatering! Then we shared the vegan fish & chips & it was sooo amazing! The batter was perfection & the vegan tartar sauce tasted exactly like the real thing! Definitely think we will be coming back soon!

This is a lovely place with indoor and outdoor seating, full length bar, and TVs that aren't so loud as to be intrusive. We went for the bottomless mimosa brunch on Sunday. Our waitress was a very nice woman, but they do have a male waiter we have had before we weren't too fond of. Anyway, the coffee is great. The food is ok. Not much on the seasoning and we were never brought any salt or pepper. We had beignets with caramel sauce that were fantastic. I had the corned beef hash, which wasn't hash at all. Just some shoestring potatoes, pieces of corned beef, and poached eggs. Gluten free toast is extra. My guest had the works which was regular country style potatoes, poached eggs, and bacon. For the cost of over a $100 it was just ok.

They had us from hello. We ordered the fried zucchini and ahi tacos for apps- she actually asked if we wanted to add a taco so we could split evenly. Had the seasonal shrub served with a metal straw- a taste of summer. Salads for dinner- so amazing!!!

This was a special menu item - soo good

I've been here a handful of times and each time, I always have a great experience! They remodeled it I think after the pandemic and I love the modern, sleek interior. I am usually here for brunch and bottomless mimosas. I have tried many items on their menu, but I always end up with the hobnob hash. It is so good. Everything here does not disappoint. This last visit, we ordered the Hobnob hash, Benedict, pancake special and beignets. Everything was delicious. Their special menu items are usually good too, so don't be afraid to order that. The service was also amazing. The staff here is always so accommodating and friendly and I love coming back.

I've been to hobnob and have had only great experiences. My Vegan GF introduced me to the restaurant to enjoy their vegan fish n chips which really were superior to other vegan fish n chips we've tried. She came for the vegan fish n chips, but I stayed for the Surf and Turf appetizer which could be an entree in itself (please never take this off the menu). We also ordered... - The brussell sprouts appetizer without any dairy product to make it vegan. They were great. - Fried Chicken Sandwich - had everything I like in a friend chicken sando. - Harvest moon cocktail - my favorite cocktail thus far that they offer. - Smokey the bear cocktail - which comes in a pretty adorable bear shaped glass. We also happened to be there on a night when there was an artist playing an acoustic guitar set which set a very nice mood. I believe he had some backing tracks which gave the set a fuller vibe. It appeared everyone in attendance appreciated the music. I definitely got more than I bargained for in a very good way. I also love that they have booths for seating. I prefer to sit side by side with my GF. It was nice to be able share food, enjoy a good cocktail, take in a music show, and sit side by side while we did so. The staff were also very friendly which is always a plus.

Habnob worst place ever rude workers!

Is there anything vegan besides the tofu scramble?

Yes. We Can make any of our burgers Vegan. We have vegan "fish" and chips done with beer battered tofu and old bay. We also have some salad and appetizer options that can be made vegan as well. Cheers!

Do you have endless mimosa during brunch?

I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. But as time went on and people change, they kind of disappeared, but this one popped up. And I'm so glad it did because it brought back fond memories of what it used to be. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside. When we walked outside, there was like a 10 foot tiki head out there and it was a flash throwback to the old days. It was so much fun to see. The bar serves drinks that are long forgotten and most bars, and they served them with flair. Everybody from the minute I walked in the front door was awesome. They were smiling, attentive, helpful, and making sure that you got exactly what you wanted and the perfect experience. I even had a moment to talk to the owner and tell him how impressed I was by the staff and the fun that the place brought. I would say I will absolutely be glad to return to this place anytime. The quality that drinks is absolutely five star. The flavors were spot on. And the throwback atmosphere was perfect. I strongly recommended for anybody that wants to go out for an evening of fun and frolic. When they close the back where the outdoor seating is a little bit earlier than the regular bar hours it does get a bit crowded on the inside because so many people are there that you didn't see originally. But that didn't change it. We still had maximum fun.

Fresh, raw white fish with great texture from the choclo (large-kernel Andean corn), toasted cancha (corn nuts), and slices of sweet potato. Dish is served raw, lightly marinated and made to order in a cilantro-based sauce with citrus with a bit of heat from aji limo (Peruvian pepper) - good but a tad salty. Served with plantains but unfortunately, not crispy and more soft and chewy. The trio of empanadas: chicken, beef, mushroom was accompanied with an aioli. Tasty! Friends enjoyed their dishes with no complaints. Lacuma Kitchen & Bar also has creative and quality cocktails/mocktails. Ordered the refreshing cucumber drink (recommendation by our server) as I didn't want anything with alcohol. Bright, fresh with some sweet from sugar and slight sour from the lime juice. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with the smell of a campfire from the oven. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with an Art Deco design. The ambiance is cozy but elevated. Benedict (buttermilk biscuit, dungeness crab cakes, marinated swiss chard & beet greens, herbed hollandaise, poached eggs & mixed greens): I'm not a huge benedict person because they can feel heavy, but this one was fantastic. I loved the textures and flavors of the crab cakes pairing with the greens and vegetables. It felt balanced and not too creamy or exhausting to eat. It definitely stands out from the run-of-the-mill brunch benedict. Vegetable Hash (roasted sweet potatoes, garnet yams, sunchokes, cauliflower, cremini mushrooms, celery root & onion, savoy spinach & poached eggs): This was also delicious and also set itself apart from the standard brunch hash. I loved the different vegetables in it besides being just potatoes and onions. The mushrooms and root vegetables worked really well together. Everything was well-seasoned. I'm glad we ended up choosing these dishes even though neither were my original top choices (I decided on the menu with my friend). It made me feel like you can choose anything and it'd be a banger. We were quite full from these dishes, and we forget we also ordered beignets to come out last. They were fluffy and mostly air (but not in a bad way). The service throughout the meal was good. We were checked on from time-to-time and our waters were refilled, although I wish the water glasses were a little bigger. One small thing to note was that we were given the check while we were still eating, even though the restaurant was still seating people despite it being close to closing time. Unsure if/why we were rushed like this. Overall, this was a memorable brunch spots I've been to in the Bay (dare I say one of the best?). We left smelling like a campfire. I would recommend it.

For food, I ordered the chips and salsa and guac. The guac was very good, it tasted fresh and was a good size portion. The salsa was really good, it was chipotle tasting but had a lime tanginess to it that was unique and refreshing. They were generous with the portion of chips and the chips were thick and crispy and seasoned well with just a little bit of salt. I also ordered the impossible taquitos which came with guac, sour cream, and salsa on top. The presentation was beautiful and the food came out fast but the taste was a bit weird, it wasn't bad but it just tasted like burger meat in a taquito. I really appreciate that they offered a meat alternative but wish it tasted better, like maybe use potatoes instead of fake meat, or use fake chorizo over a burger seasoning. It would also be nice if there was a vegan version not just a vegetarian version. Despite my critiques of the food, I have no critiques for the service and atmosphere! My server was phenomenal and attentive and checked in often!
