This was my first time going to Philz Coffee, and I decided to try the strawberry matcha. It was really good! You could actually taste both the strawberry and the matcha, and I loved that the strawberry didn't overpower the matcha flavor. I've never tried any of their coffee drinks before, but they all look really good, so I'll definitely have to come back and try some. The workers were very friendly and welcoming, and they even asked how my day was going, which was a nice touch. The inside is also very spacious, with plenty of seating. From prior experience, I always check to make sure the cup cover is on the cup securely. But surprise, I found out the cup was dripping coffee onto my shirt. This only happens when the barista puts the cover on -after- the rim is already wet. So even if the cup cover is on, the seal was never secure. This sucks. The wait at the location is usually bad. Visited this location this weekend. We ordered online for pickup and I was happy to see that they offered more options for tea. I got the chamomile tea, but made the mistake of adding cream to it. Don't ask me why. Don't do this. I also ordered some of their breakfast burritos, which were really good. Lastly I got the mint mojito, which was delicious. Sadly the customer service here was lacking according to my husband. When he first asked where to pick up the items, he said he was ignored. Hopefully, that was a rare occurrence. I can't believe I'm just finding out that this place opened in my area. I've always enjoyed their signature drinks, so I'm happy to know it's only a few minutes away whenever I'm craving one. Asides from their great coffee selection, I really appreciate that there are lots of seating (both indoors and outdoors) which makes it a perfect spot to either catch up with friends or get some studying done with a nice cup of coffee. Located in the Claremont Village. The parking lot is small but there is also street parking. The inside is very spacious and there is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. I placed a mobile order and received a message that my order was ready. When I arrived my drinks were still not done. I ordered a Silken Splendor with cream and sugar. I've had this drink plenty of times so I was a bit disappointed when I received it and it tasted very watered down. There was barely any cream or sugar. My fiance had the same issue with his drink as well. I think since they are fairly new their drinks aren't as consistent like other Philz locations. I don't quite get the hype. Before November, I had never tried Philz Coffee, but I'm always up for checking out a new coffee spot. I've now been twice, each time ordering a different cold drink, and honestly... it was just okay. The first time, I tried the Winter Bliss Cold Brew--nothing special, but not bad. Last week, I gave the Honey Haze a shot, and while it was a little too sweet for my taste, it was still fine. To be fair, I haven't tried any of their hot drinks, so this is strictly about their cold brews. That said, there are plenty of better coffee shops in Claremont and they're all more affordable. On the plus side, the vibe inside is great, the outdoor seating is nice, and the staff is super friendly. But as for the coffee? I don't really see myself coming back. read more

I came here this morning with my boyfriend after his doctor's appointment! It's so great to finally have a Philz closer to us My boyfriend at the moment is handicap and I just want to say that this location is very handicap accessible! The bathroom is easy to access with a button and there is a ramp to get down to the front doors. Although I wish the doors had a handicap button but it's no biggy! I got a hot chocolate and my boyfriend got the mocha tesora and they both were very yummy! The mocha tesora came out a bit luke warm but it wasn't bad. not too bad for us to ask to remake. There are so many places to grab a cup of cafe, I chose this one because it looked modern and different. Ordering is pretty simple you get a plastic menu with the different types of coffee and snacks, I ordered a drink that looked curious and took a sip, it was the Philtered Soul had Hazelnut Flavoring, Maple, Caramel and sweet! There was plenty of outlets and the WiFi was a breeze to connect to. My only issue was the automatic door the rest room it was hard to close and lock but if you let the machine do it job it works fine. read more

So silky smooth and sweet, with real muddled mint leaves in the bottom and garnishing the top, it's the real deal! It'll have to be something I only indulge in on rare occasion but wow, was it worthwhile! I'm so happy that there is a Philz location near me now. As expected, their drinks are well-made and delicious. I love that you can adjust the sweetness and the creaminess. Their baked goods are good as well. I personally love their brownies. Service is friendly, and you always get the opportunity to taste and adjust your drink before you leave. During peak hours, the inside tables are always full. It's not that large of a space anyway. It may be easier to snag a table outside if you're looking to get work done, weather permitting of course. The place has a relaxed, college-town vibe with solid music, lots of outlets, and both indoor and shaded outdoor seating. I ordered the Mocha Tesora, and it was smooth, rich, and full of flavor. The barista handed it over and said, "Taste it--if it's not perfect, I'll make it perfect." That was a cool touch. Finally a Philz on the SGV/IE border. The location is near Indian Hill Blvd, on Bonita Ave. Their parking lot is small, so street parking is your best bet. If you do mobile ordering, add another 5 minutes to the estimated time. This place is busy! While I was waiting for my mobile order, I noticed people, who ordered inside after I walked in, had their drinks made before me. The space is large and has seating both indoors and outdoors. They also have pastries and snacks, but I usually just order the iced mint mojito coffee. It is still relatively new, and the drinks are not consistent or as nailed down as other locations. Philz is my FAVORITE go to coffee shop. I was so excited when I went the new location in Clairmont. It is almost in the neighborhood The parking lot is not spacious, but I found a spot easily. Customers can park in the street effortlessly, in addition to there is a public parking near by Philz. The place has inviting and relaxing vibes. I love the colorful mural all around the shop. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place was busy already when I went, but the line moved very fast. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and genuinely warm. They have excellent customer service. I ordered winter Bliss Cold Brew which is my favorite seasonal coffee. The coffee has perfect balanced flavor, fragrance, and pleasant aroma. I didn't get their name but thank you!! When my drink came out, Samantha was warm and courteous. Philz Coffee opened two days ago on 11/13. I didn't realize it was such a popular coffee spot until I had to wait 25-30 minutes to order, haha. I assume because of the grand opening and its popularity that made the wait super long. Parking is not too hard to find, there's a parking lot in front of the store along with plenty of free street parking around. DRINK: Iced mint mojito ($5.60) - strong creamy coffee, had real mint leaves throughout the drink and was surprisingly very filling Would rate 4.5 stars because of the long wait, but maybe that is to be expected. Service was very patient as they answered all of my ordering questions; they were also able to modify my drink after I had my first sip. I like how you can customize your sweetness, ice, and cream levels. Also there are tons of study tables and communal tables (with outlets!!). Their pastries were also huge and looked very appetizing from the display. Looking forward to trying more drinks from Philz! read more
