    Chorizo Pot Pie

Lontra Coffee had a reel on Instagram advertising their Grand Opening for August 8th! So, of course, we attend their grand opening which lasted about 3 hours. We were only inside for about 20 minutes due to the immersive amount of people inside. Parking is available from on the street or in the parking lot located behind the cafe. We walked around the block, and found the shop's sign outside. Once we went inside, we found the line snaked around the shop, towards the back. Before standing in line, we had taken free Photo Booth photos (normally $7) , as part of their grand opening. We stood in line, and it didn't take long to get towards the front. At the front, their cashier pleasantly greeted us. We ordered a mango sticky latte and a Yuzu Thai Basil tonic. With our drinks, per the cashier's recommendation, we also ordered a chorizo meat pie. We stood toward the back end again, waiting for our drinks. The drinks came out and we went back to the photo booth to take photos with our drinks! We left shortly, due to the amount of people and lack of air flow. They had a great turn out for grand opening day, though! My Mango Sticky Latte was sadly full of coconut and not much mango. It was extremely subtle. My fiancé's tonic was a great mix of yuzu and Thai basil. The coffee was decent and you could taste it, although the caffeine intake wasn't intensive. Our meat pie was just okay; it wasn't super special. I think they did quite well for the overwhelming amount of people today. I think this coffee place does beat the nearby ones. If I were to be in the Upland, Montclair, Ontario vicinity, I'd probably bookmark this spot as a place I'd frequent for decent lattes. I can't wait to visit again, when their customer lines settle down a bit!

Rosemary Maple Latte & Blackberry Espresso Tonic

This use to be Lucky's Coffee so I was expecting it to be at that level or even higher. Well, you can't have it all. Sad emoji face in effect. I started off with the Blackberry Orange Espresso Tonic and I tasted more orange flavor than I did the blackberry so that was kinda a miss. My second drink was the Maple Rosemary which had no maple flavor whatsoever and a very subtle hint of rosemary. That leads me to this, more milk than flavor equals what people? Improper ratio plus a weak espresso extraction, Boom. The service was ok and when I asked the barista a couple of questions, she reminded me of the teacher on Ferris Bueller with no kind of pep. I'll give them this though, they do dine in service with a sleek counter space. Hopefully on my trip in they'll have these issues fixed. So in the end I was left like a bee buzzing with one wing. And that's my take on it, Peace.

I stopped by Lontra Coffee in the downtown Upland area and had the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Iced Latte. It was really good! I loved that you could actually taste the coffee it wasn't overly sweet, and the brown sugar and cinnamon flavors complemented it really well. Even though it's located in downtown Upland parking wasn't difficult to find which was a nice. The customer service was welcoming and friendly from the moment I walked in. The inside of the shop is nice and clean. I'll definitely be back to try more of their drinks since this latte was so good!

Had been anticipating the opening of this coffee shop since the lemon festival was in town. I'm glad to see them being so welcomed into the community. There was a soft opening but I managed to go a few days later. The line was still long, but service moved pretty quickly and it didn't take long to get our drinks after the order was placed. They currently do not have any menu on the wall or to be passed around. You have to wait until you're at the register to see the menu. I do think this would help the line go faster if people knew what they wanted to order before they go to the front, but it's still early days. The staff is incredibly nice. It can get loud in there with all the people inside waiting, so it can be difficult to hear the person at the register. We didn't want to keep the line so we just nodded and placed our order. We opted for a Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte and a Orange Vanilla Latte. They did have plenty of seasonal drinks and more reasons to keep coming back to try them all. The place does have some seating but with the long lines, most people were opting to take their drinks to go. Mango Sticky Rice Matcha Latte: this was surprisingly really well balanced. I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it would be sweeter. It was just the perfect amount of sweetness. The drink had little bits of fruit at the bottom that were a nice surprise. You could still taste the matcha but it was subtle. Presentation was great. Orange Vanilla Latte: I did ask for my drink to be light on the vanilla, and they prepared it perfectly. Also another well balanced drink. My friend really enjoyed the taste of orange in the drink, as did I. They did also have a case of pastries at the register. We didn't get any this time but good to know for future cravings and snacks. Can't wait to try other drinks from their menu.

Nice new spot in downtown upland! Came during soft opening and loved seeing the different options for coffee. We got a cold brew with seasonal cold foam which was coconut and a brown sugar cinnamon coffee. Both were very good! The only thing I wish is that they would have a large option for drinks. Everyone inside was very friendly and welcoming, found my new go to spot in this area!

Long long but quick friendly service. Mango matcha was amazing, had mango chunks. Peach latte was great as well. Very espresso forward but smooth. Just wished they had the menu available in line. Only one is at the register currently.

Beautiful branding in the highest quality paper cup I've ever seen.

Today we visited the much anticipated Lontra Coffee on 2nd in Downtown Upland. This is in the former location of one of our favorite coffee shops, Lucky's. First, the coffee: I tried an orange vanilla latte- delicious, not too sweet and very tasty. My hubby ordered his standard: iced americano, black. His was smooth, not bitter, but a bit watered down. The shop has potential to be really beautiful inside. Gorgeous tile backdrop on the walls, a beautiful bar to sit at with comfortable, quality mcm stools. Seating was varied and plentiful. The space has bare cement floors causing a loud, echoing area. Throw in a couple screaming toddlers and the room became uncomfortable. Rugs or wall hangings to absorb sound would help reduce the noise issue. Lots of potential! We'll give them another try on a day that's not so busy.

    pineapple matcha and water

I was recommended the pineapple matcha by the wonderful cashier and it did not disappoint at all. I'm excited to return and try more drinks ! I have always loved the space from when it used to be luckys, parked conveniently in the back.

lavender haze, expected it to be purple at the bottom but it was more on the blue side. i put the straw in so it mixed right away.

coffee was good! i got the lavender haze enjoyed it a lot, just enough espresso and sweetness. The workers were also sweet and there to help out and answer questions! It was louder in there but good environment, they also have a coffee bar which is cool as well.

Always asking to make sure the drinks are good when you pick them up. I also really like the actual café. If you work remotely and want to get out of the house for a bit, this would be a great little spot. Good coffee, chill atmosphere, and a nice place to get some work done. Welcome back for another episode of Delicious with Zach!…read moreToday we tried a Carlotta, Pineapple Drop, Palmiers, Turkey & Cheese Croissant and Monkey Bread Carlotta - 10/10 Absolutely delicious. The texture, the bright lemon flavor, not overly sweet, and full of fresh flavor. Everything was perfectly balanced and on point. Pineapple Drop - 8.75/10 I was expecting the cookie to be a bit drier, but that was just my initial assumption. The pineapple flavor came through nicely and wasn't overly sticky or "tacky." Palmiers - 10/10 Baked to perfection. Flaky, soft, with the perfect amount of crunch. The flavor was beautifully balanced and those sugar crystals were delicious. Felt like I was sitting in a South American bakery. Turkey & Cheese Croissant - 7.92/10 The croissant itself was perfect, the turkey was good, and the cheese was just okay. In fairness, we only ordered this because they were out of the ham & cheese croissants (which we love). If I had never tried the ham & cheese version, this one would probably land in the high 8s or low 9s. Unfortunately, the turkey & cheese just didn't stand a chance against the original. Monkey Bread 10/10 Holy cow! The monkey bread can be described as addictive... the monkey bread is baked with pecans on the bottom, cherries mixed in, cinnamon and a soft dough drizzled with frosting. The monkey bread was so fresh, soft, and full of flavor. The pecans and cherries were perfectly balanced in the monkey bread creating a delicious snack. One last note: We went back up to order more palmiers and the wonderful lady working the counter (Maria) gave us a complimentary one and a monkey bread. Super kind and thoughtful; she actually helped guide us to the carlota as I was wanting a lemon bar or tart and they were out of them. She suggested the carlota and described the taste and she was perfect in Her recommendations. Maria deserves employee of the month!

It was so phenomenal that we ended up coming back twice! Visit 1: I ordered their most popular item--the Thai Tea Soft Serve with honey boba (9oz). Hands down, this is the best Thai tea soft serve I have ever tasted in California. The flavor is incredibly potent, rich, and stays completely true to a perfect soft serve texture. I ate it so fast I didn't even get a photo! My boyfriend got the same thing and added Oreo crumbs, which was a huge hit. Visit 2: I decided to explore the menu and tried the "Fire Dragon"--a black milk tea topped with crème brûlée and honey boba. It was delicious, though to make the tea more rich I recommend brewing the tea a bit longer to give that black tea flavor an extra punch against the rich cream. My little brother ordered the Thai tea soft serve with boba and Oreo crumbs (16oz) and his instant verdict was: "When can we come back?"
