This place hits the spot. Hand sanitizer and temp check before seating. The host was very welcoming. Everyone was wear gloves and masks when I was there. Place seems to get a pretty good flow of customers. I got the pho special and was greeted by a nice hot bowl of noodles, which is perfect for a rainy day like today. Tendon was so soft and tender, cooked brisket had just the right amount of chew, and the tai was still pink just the way I like it. They didn't have all the aromatic herbs but it hard to come by on the island. The broth was good with a clean finish. It wasn't the best I've had but it hit all right notes. I love Vietnamese food so figured I'd give this a go. I really wanted to love it, but honestly we were not big fans. We ordered the, shrimp summer rolls, shrimp vermicelli & beef fried rice. Summer Rolls: They were pretty good & definitely fresh. Unfortunately, the container was filled with only half the peanut sauce which wasn't enough for us to enjoy with both rolls. Vermicelli: It was just ok. The shrimps had a good flavor but the vermicelli was completely plain. I had to dump the sauce it came with all over for some flavor which helped a bit. Beef fried rice: Not a fan. The beef was overcooked & there was very little considering the cost so that was disappointing. There was honestly no flavor except onion. Overall: I think I'd give it another shot as the food was fresh. It's really like a 3.5 but yelp only allows 1-5 -.- Also, just an FYI they pack the food in a cardboard-like container so by the time we got home, the bottom was pretty mushy. read more

I hate writing reviews let alone a bad review but feel compelled in this case.. I came here last week with my parents and expecting a good meal. Prices are a bit high compared to other places and value. The food is decent but not great, 6 out of 10. We ordered Spring rolls, 4 to the order and they were small but tasty and overpriced. The Spring Rolls were a dissapointment as they were loosly wrapped and with iceberg lettuce and 2 shrimps, nothing else plus the thin skin was hard and not soft and chewy as it should be. This was pre-made and skin was dried out. Chicken Wings were very tasty but small for the price charged for 6 wings. The soup noodles were good but I wasn't able to use any of the beam sprouts or basil as they were wilted, old, and insect eaten with the black brown spots. I asked the owner and she said they were all fresh and came yesterday and they are hard to come by. She did not agree with me that they were old and wilted because they were purchaed yesterday and that I didn't know what fresh was. My reply was we are Asian and we use bean sprouts all the time and never like this. We keep ours for a week in the fridge and it never gets dark at the sprout tip or wilted. She had nothing further to say. I informed that I understand getting fresh produce is sometimes hard. The Vietnamese Ice Coffee was a miss. This came already pre-made, usually its served as a drip into condensed milk and you add the ice to taste. This was weak and had no flavor. I noticed a bug in the drink halfway drinking it and sent it back. The waitress said she was sorry and didn't offer to bring a new one. Our entrees came out and we ate them. As I asked for the check the manager came by with a small half cup of Vietnamese Ice Coffee over a drip cup and I declined as we were done with the meal and I wanted to go. The bill came and I asked her why she charged for the drink and her reply was I drank half of it already. That's when I talked to her about the basil and sprouts. The Sriracha bottle was not clean and there was a build up of Sriracha at the tip. I wasn't able to get anything out. When was the last time the bottles were clean and wiped. Bottom line, I won't be going back given the price for the value, cleaniness and the managers response. read more

Was looking for a place for dinner with friends. They live on the north shore and we live on the south shore. So this was a good place in between for us to have dinner. We all ordered bowl of pho with brisket and eye round steak. We also got fried spring rolls, Thai ice tea and hot Vietnamese coffee. I like how the table is set up with there being spoons, forks and chopsticks, as well as the condiments: Siracha and hoisin sauce so you don't have to ask for these things. The people who work there are so friendly despite it being packed even at 7pm. There were people getting take out orders like crazy and many people in the restaurant. The spring rolls came out quickly. The fried spring rolls were perfect. They really looked like they were made by a professional chef. All the spring rolls were the same size and so uniformly shaped into a perfect cylinder. The spring rolls came with lettuce and shredded carrots on the side and a vinegar based sauce. I think you're suppose to eat the spring rolls wrapped in lettuce with some shredded carrots. They were so good and fresh. I almost burned my mouth on them because they were so hot and clearly had just come out of the fryer. The spring rolls were so crunchy and soft with a perfect balance of flavor and texture. I don't eat Vietnamese spring rolls that often, but I noticed there was like a very smooth mouth feel to the inside of the spring roll. I think they might mix the meat and vegetables with some kind of starch? The noodles came out later in these very large bowls and they were steaming hot. They gave us a very generous heap of noodles submerged in flavorful broth topped with thinly sliced onions. They also gave us bean sprouts, Thai basil, and jalapenos on the side. Which was a good thing since I have a friend who is allergic to bean sprouts. The noodles were very good and perfectly cooked and not soggy. The broth was flavorful and the meat was fresh. There was a TV playing behind us. It was fun watching Pokemon while eating my dinner. They don't have any dessert, so we brought our own. We enjoyed the food, and we were all very full after eating. We weren't were sure if we were allowed to bring outside food, so we quickly ate it, and either no one really noticed, or they didn't mind. Overall the experience was pleasant and the ambiance was really nice too, we didn't feel rushed at all and stayed a while. Its also convenient that it is located in a large parking lot. I have to say, as a Vietnamese-American, there's not a lot of authentic/great options on the Island, but I'm happy to report that Pho 34 hit the spot!!! We ordered classic summer rolls, fried spring rolls, a pho special combo, and vermicelli with fried spring roll and grilled pork. Everything was packaged well with all the appropriate garnishes. The pho broth was deep and complex (as it should be) and all the traditional Vietnamese flavors/notes were present in every dish. The owners were all so nice too. To start the staff was super friendly, our table was very clean with a bottle of Siracha and hoisin sauce, and our food came out quickly. Definitely recommend! You are immediately greeted with a friendly face. This family business is run exceptionally well from operations to service. I went on a Sunday so it was nice to see the whole family participating. There is a big difference with having a wait staff that is externally hired vs a family membered staff. There's so much more love and passion translated into the service they provide. The food is very good. We ordered pho, spring rolls, summer roll, salt and pepper chicken wings and vermicelli bowl. Food is authentic and fresh. The raw vegetables in the dishes had a good crunch, which compliments the Viet style of cooking. Worst thing you can have is pho with soggy bean sprouts! Definitely get the Thai iced tea. It is fragrant and not overly sweet. I cannot state they have the best pho in the US (hands down goes to a hole in the wall in LA where the broth is swimming with questionable meat scraps), but they offer a clean, delicious bowl of pho. The restaurant is extremely clean and comfortable. Bathroom is spotless and love that there was a Bath and Body wallflower plug in. I am so glad I found this place It has been hard finding good Pho on Long Island, so after reading the reviews of Pho 34, I was exited going into my meal. I ordered hot lemon tea, summer rolls, and a Pho 34 special combination. The summer rolls were fresh and firm, and the peanut sauce served with it can be described in one word. Delicious. The Pho combination was everything I was looking for on a cold fall afternoon. The broth was flavorful and aromatic, all the meats were tasty (especially the meatballs) and not overcook, and the noodles had bite and were not mushy. The lemon tea was exactly how I make it at home and it brought a smile to my face. Nice and hot, with lots of lemon and honey. The service was equally as wonderful as the food . I had a wonderful conversation with moon, who took pride in her tea making skills. Please come and support this restaurant! This is by far the best pho I've ever tasted in the United States without a doubt. I've tried pho in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston, this is the hidden gem of the century for me! The Fresh Summer Rolls with freshly made peanut sauce were HUGE and packed with flavor. You could tell all the ingredients were prepared fresh today! The House Special combo pho was one size and had the perfect meat:noodle ratio for my liking. My first taste of the broth brought me back to my favorite pho restaurant previously; Pho Saigon in West Palm Beach, FL. I added two slices of the fresh and it brought the spice level up ten-fold while still keeping its original signature flavors. As my meal continued the broth became more rich with flavors from the meats, chili's, and little bit of hoisin I added. Again, absolutely blown away by this establishment and will be a frequent visitor as long as I am in town or close by! If you're thinking of driving out of the city for pho I highly suggest this be your go-to spot no matter the distance! **Update: I came back for my second visit 36 hours after my first. During my first visit I asked the owners if they had fried chili paste for the pho, they did not but brought out some fresh chopped Chili's with the seeds. I gave this place 1 star because the food was decent. That said, it's ridiculously overpriced! This is exactly what you'd expect from a take-out Vietnamese place. Nothing great to look at but you get what you pay for, right? Not here! I paid $73 for 3 small meals and spring roles. They charged me $21 for XL special Pho that was far from XL. 3 tiny meats balls, a few paper then slices of round eye and brisket over approx. 1 1/2 cups of noodles. Coming from queens, the portion was comparable to a regular/ medium size soup that costs $8-$10. I also ordered beef over rice. Again, the food is tasty. I was appalled when I opened up my $15 meal and saw the small amount of meat. Wanting to be objective instead of biased, I measured the portion and found that I was charged $15 for 2.5 oz of beef. This was not advertised as a child size portion, yet I received a children's meal. Vermicelli noodles was a huge bowl of shredded lettuce and bean sprouts with a small amount of chicken and noodles. After all of that, I was charged a "technology fee" for using a credit card. It would have cost me less to pay for gas to drive to elmhurst and get authentic Vietnamese food in an appropriate adult size. Such a shame. The food is good but not worth the price. read more

Just had lunch at Pho 34 in Levittown. Long Island was in dire need of a good authentic Vietnamese restaurant and it is finally here. Pictures tell the story but in sum, pho was piping hot, tasty and authentic. Beef over rice was moist and hit the spot. Portions were generous and I actually almost had a hard time finishing my XL Bowl (normally not a problem). I ordered the XL Pho with Flank and Beef and it was very good. The soup was refreshing and hit the spot. They definitely give a large portion so if you're hungry- this is perfect for you! We also ordered the spring and summer rolls which were not bad. Wish the spring rolls were crispier but the filling was pretty good.
