The location is kinda hidden too find this gem you gotta keep your eyes open. This resturant have great lunch specials. Every weekday has a 3 special plates one soup, one noodle and rice plates. Thier upgrade on extra noodles are fantastic only $1. The service is super qucik, it's family owen and everyone is very friendly and helpful. I got to taste the vermicelli noodle with chicken and extra noodles. The special is such a greeeet portion I wasn't able to finish it all. I just ordered some Pho and egg rolls for pick up. I picked up my food and drove back to my hotel and realized that there was no bowl for my soup and noodles. Just a container for the broth. Nothing else would fit into the container so I drank some of the broth. I then put my steak into the broth and it's not hot enough to cook the frozen steak they gave me. I can not eat any part of this meal now. Horrible design. How do you not make the broth hot enough and how do you not provide a bowl. read more

In search for our next favorite Pho place, we found Pho 78 on Yelp! I love Pho, and when it comes with my Pho, I am very picky and critical in terms of it's quality and authenticity in both the broth and the noodle. For that reason, I did not have much expectation before walking through the front door. It seems that this place has been in business for a while, but I never noticed it existed. We walked in and somehow I just did not feel the "Pho vibe" in the air. We sat down and started looking over their menu. I skipped everything else and went straight to the Pho section. I'll give them one thing, the do have a large variety of Pho combinations. You can pick different types of meat to go with your dish. For me, I just picked the basics: rib round steak and brisket while my wife ordered the dry noodle. We started off with the fried egg roll appetizer. The dish did not look pleasant to our eyes but it tasted better than it looked. It was crispy outside while the stuffing inside was decent. Then I got my Pho. I order the small bowl, but it does not seem worth $6.95 for that portion. The broth, which to me is the most important part of the dish, was just okay. At least it was not salty like most other places I tried. The steaks were just okay and nothing special worth mentioning. My wife's dry dish were just average at best. The pork in her noodle was way too salty for my taste, and was chewy because it was overcooked. At the end, we left unsatisfied and let down. On top of all that, the service was not too good neither. But, you rarely receive good service in most Asian restaurants anyway so that was expected. Overall, based on the food we tried, we will probably not be back. read more

Decent pho place but not mind blowing. I think I was spoiled living in Orlando where any restaurant in Viet town had amazing homemade pho. Here in south Florida, none have lived up to my standards. Pho 78 is clean and the server was polite. I ordered a fried egg roll appetizer to share and two small bowls of pho with tendon. Mine I had added rare flank steak and tripe. The egg rolls were airy and flaky on the outside and the stuffing was tasty on the inside. It had meat and veggies mix but very deliciously compared to the dry tasteless ones I've had at other places. The soup for the pho wasn't oily but it wasn't super flavorful either. It was a bit bland but after adding a bit of hoisin sauce, it tasted a little better. There was plenty of steak and big chunks of tendon but barely any tripe. Completely got jipped on that. There were maybe 3 little pieces total... Overall, if you're desperately craving pho and have no other choice, try this one. I wasn't blown away though. read more

Perfect bowl of hot pho after a long 'cold' day ending with soccer practice... My little one went for the special, with everything under the sun. I went with the ususal raw beef and meatballs. Love the broth and steamed bean sprouts. I just wish they had basil :( another thing we loved was their jasmine tea. In fact we loved it so much we took the rest in the pot home with our leftovers. Shrinkflation has hit this business too like many others.. the past 5 orders have been exactly the same and I timed everything as opposed as it was in the past.. soup for large sizes is now at the cusp of almost a quarter empty from the edge/top, no culantro in any of their herbs pack, and the same goes for the meats. If the objective for shrinkflation is to maintain the same cost so to keep clientele - wouldn't you know your clientele would know, and notice. Rather be told to pay a buck extra and make sure I am getting what I used to pay, at the end of the day I'm not asking for anything free. read more

It's Summer and feels like 100F and very humid but for me, there is never a bad time to have a hot steaming bowl of Pho. The AC is not great, and I slurp the soup while wiping off sweat from my face. Tried the egg rolls too, and it's comfort food. There is not much service (to be expected) and they don't take AMEx. read more

Nothing tops Pho on a cold or rainy day! It comes out piping hot pretty quickly after ordering too! I haven't tried any other dishes except pho here so I can only speak on that. Their broth is on the light side, clear and not heavy, so if you're looking for strong flavor you may want to search for ramen elsewhere. Stopped in randomly when I was in the area. It was pretty empty initially, but as time passed it got pretty busy. I was seated instantly. The menu has a lot. It took me some time to decide, but I finally picked pho with a variety of meat (#23). It was kind of creepy how fast the food came out. Don't even remember think it took up to 2 minutes. The small bowl was a good size. I pretty much finished it all, but I was full. The flavors were great. They also give you bean sprouts and other vegetables to add to your pho to taste. There's a few sauces on the table as well, and I asked for some chili oil on the side to add some spice. I ordered some egg rolls (2) which were like $5. They were good but I think that's overpriced. Had a great dinner. Came in about 5pm, no one dining, perfect for us. Lots of orders to go on table. Ordered 2 shrimp rolls, 2 pork rolls, iced coffee, 1 thai tea, 2 excellent medium pho, 1shrimp fried rice. Brought our own sake since they don't serve alcohol. Staff provided cups for our sake, no problem. As in most Asian restaurants that don't serve alcohol you can usually BYOB, should always check first. So not good. I was really excited to try this place. I drove 30 minutes south, in a thunderstorm, with tornado warning alerts going off on my phone the whole drive down. I was determined to try a new Pho place and to love it. That didn't happen. My husband and I were the only customers in here so it was creepy quiet. I was seated quickly, given a menu, placed my order and the food came out fast, but, it was horrible. I ordered the chicken pho bowl and the chicken tasted extremely freezer burnt immediately upon biting into it, even worse was that as you chewed it, it turned into the consistency of cardboard and really was inedible. I ate none of the chicken. My husband ordered the same and spit his chicken out. He refused to eat any of the pho, I ate my noodles. There was nothing else but a few onions and some cilantro in the bowl. The pork spring rolls were not pork, there is no way it was pork, it had to be really charred, chewy beef. I am 99.9% sure it was not pork and it tasted disgusting. It had a chemical taste finished with charred sour beef. I took one bite and refused to try it again. The bahn mi sandwich did have pork, which is what we ordered, but it was sickly sweet, it tasted like they put pork on the bread and smothered it in maple syrup. I Went to this amazingly wonderful restaurant on a recommendation. They are so nice and provide Friendly service and good fresh food. They will happily make vegan special if requested. I never go out to eat bc of my health problems but this restaurant is clean and very tolerant and helpful with people who have health problems. I stopped going out to eat so awhile but I will definitely be back here.I had 0 problems and had a wonderful dinner. My husband ordered online and I picked it up. When I got there the food wasn't ready yet but it wasn't the time for it to be ready I was early. So I was talking to the guy that worked there and he was telling me what my husband ordered and I said he probably got it bc it said spicy in the name. He informed me that you can get any pho spicy. When he gave me the food he gave me two pints of soup even though we only ordered one. He said, just in case he doesn't like the one he ordered he gave me the plain broth to. Have phô twice a week. Have tried all within 25 miles and 75 is the best. Very clean, simple and quiet. Straight up: the service is not why I keep coming back to 78. You will have read the complaints of others here so let's just admit that the service is very rough. The waiters are definitely not charm school graduates. However I have found them to be efficient enough, except on the (fairly frequent) occasions when the front of house is understaffed (or entirely deserted). On my last visit I saw a family of four come in, stand around awkwardly when no one appeared to greet them, eventually decide to seat themselves, then get up and leave when no one had acknowledged their existence after about 5 minutes. In my experience the staffing tends to be better around "standard" meal times, eg 12-2, 6-8 etc - but gets thin in between. Okay, but the food is good. I think it's the best Vietnamese in West Broward. You have a lot of choices. Reasons not to choose 78 include the service, and the lack of beer. The latter is often a deal breaker for me. Must be the British in me lol. But the food keeps me coming back. They do a mean bahn mi here - I think it competes very solidly with 545 down in Davie. I also love the pork chop platter and the pho. And the spring rolls are addictive. Vietnamese iced coffee - yum. So personally, I forgive them for anything else and just come and eat and enjoy. read more

And just wow the staff is very friendly and welcoming and the food was served fast and hot and very good in flavor. The restaurant is well kept and very clean. I have no complaints! Meh just OK for me. Went w/ moms for lunch, she was feeling under the weather so I thought this was a good choice to take her. We both ordered the mixed beef pho, it's the one that has a piece of all their beef cuts. What I wasn't expecting was the tripe and this other mystery meat that seemed more like fatty/gelatinous/tendon-esk, weird meat that was in there. We both did not like that very much. *shaking head NO* Service was fine, place was clean, the sides were served bountifully, the broth was good, but the meat scared me. Small bowl was like $7 and the medium bowl was like $8.50. The small is HUGE and plentiful enough for one maybe 2. We also ordered the spring rolls to start, those were really good. Mom also ordered hot tea, huge teapot came out and still had leaves floating around in it, no sweetener was offered. Not a bad visit at Pho 78. I absolutely loved the Bahn Mi sandwich! The pork was so tender and flavorful. There was also the perfect amount of veggies and cilantro. It was a bit on the small side, but very tasty. I also tried their Pho. It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was very good. I wish there had been a little more meat in the soup. The taro boba tea was just okay. I think there were only like 10 tapioca beads in my entire drink, and they were all stuck together. It was pretty disappointing. The taro aspect of the drink was delicious though. Tip- split the bahn mi sandwich and a medium bowl of Pho with your date. More than enough food for 2 people!! read more
