#13 Pho Rare Steak And Meatball

Very delicious and reasonably priced!! I always love stopping here for some tasty bowls of pho. Friendly service as well, with plenty of seating.

I got the small vegetable pho. It was pretty packed with perfectly cooked veggies. The small is still a generous size in my opinion. The hubs got the rare steak and meatball and polished it off quick. He really enjoyed it. Kids got the meatball pho and loved it (and the challenge of eating with chopsticks). Service was attentive and good! The vibe fits what I like, I like a hidden hole in the wall with good food. It's in a strip mall with easy parking and when we walked in at like 3 ish the place only had one table open... so we weren't the only ones that think it's good!

Small, hole in the wall spot with amazing food! Friendly service and bomb pho! We've tried everything here and it's all amazing. Worth the drive when your pho craving hits. I can barely get through the small bowl. So freaking delicious! My only complaint is that this restaurant isn't closer to my house!

Ambiance is so peaceful with great customer service! The price is affordable & the best part the Pho is so authentic. I had a sore throat & feel so much better after eating here. Must try!

This is the BEST pho restaurant I've ever stood foot in! The food is PHONEMENAL and service is fast and efficient. The servers are very friendly and attentive, I really love this place! EVERYTIME I'm craving pho I go here and it always hits. The thing is I always get the same thing every single time and it never misses, the broths amazing. I really RECOMMEND this place for anyone wanting to try pho for the first time or just craving it! It's also very authentic.

This pho 79 restaurant is a hole on the wall resto. The inside was simple and clean. This restaurant are run by husband and wife duo and he greeted you upon entered in. Their pho is one the best in Charleston! The broth was so savory and the right flavor even before adding anything else. The portion was generous and the rare steak and the slices meat balls were good too. The chili oil that serve with the pho was so good and I used it generously in my pho. We also ordered the shrimp spring rolls and it was fried to perfection. I will definitely coming back! So so good!

Walking into Pho 79 brought me a sense of comfort, reminiscent of cozy pho spots back home in Southern California. I was in town for a work trip, and this restaurant felt like a perfect escape. The smell of delicious broth hit me the moment I stepped inside, and I, as a well as my friend, was greeted with a warm welcome from the family owned business. It's small place but super inviting and comfortable, perfect for a nice meal. The service was friendly and attentive making me feel relaxed and taken care of. I went for the Pho meatball and rare steak. My friend got the combination bowl. For appetizers we got a shrimp roll. The pho was fantastic and the broth was rich and flavorful. The shrimp roll was fresh and the peanut sauce was just right for me -- not too sweet, which I liked. Also, they have chili oil!!! Overall, Pho 79 was a great spot to unwind during my work trip! Definitely recommend coming here if you are craving some authentic Vietnamese food.

Nice quaint but small Vietnamese restaurant in North Charleston. The restaurant may be small but the food packs a lot of flavor. Pho Broth is nice and beefy. Great traditional family operated business. Nice service as well.

This hidden gem was recommended to me by a friend. The place is fairly small, but don't judge until you try the pho and bunbohue. The place is tight, but gives you enough room to manage. I am assuming the owner, both of the couples? were really sweet and made sure we got all that we needed. You can definitely tell it was a family own restaurant. My friends and I ordered their shrimp spring rolls, pork springs rolls, combination pho, and bunbohue. Everything that we ate was sooo flavorful and the aroma of the broth when it gets to the table. Both the pho and bunbohue broth was extremely aromatic. I got the bunbohue and it was amazing. A lot of the bunbohue I've had before felt extremely heavy when eating but their bunbohue was light yet impactful. I love the little shrimp paste and chilly oil that they provided as well. If you can't stand the smell of shrimp paste, you don't have to add it into your broth but it makes it soo much more umami. Can't forget to mention that they packed the bowls with protein, tendon, brisket, meatballs, flank, and Asian meat loaf. Sadly didn't get too many pictures because I was too excited to eat.

Pho 79 is so good. It's very authentic and the staff is great. I have gotten a variety of things here and everything is so good. I've had the pho, the shrimp bun and even the shrimp rice dish. It's all amazing. I'm Vietnamese myself everything taste so good and fresh. 10 out 10!

Getting kind of nippy here in Charleston and decided I would like some Pho. Saw the review of Pho 79 and left early for work to get some soup. The place is small, but quaint. First I had some shrimp rolls which were hot, crunchy and very tasty. I then ordered the Pho Bien with rare steak and brisket. It was absolutely amazing. Vegetables were fresh and the soup was hearty. I will be bringing the wife here over weekend. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.

    Vegetable Pho #6

Everything was so fresh! The beef broth with the addition of the vegetables was amazing. You could definitely taste the love that went into making it. It was legit a hug from the inside. The owners were super friendly and the spot although tiny was very clean. The service was fast despite being busy with carry out orders and those folks dining in. I would 100% recommend this place based on the pho. Looking forward to trying their other dishes but it's going to be hard to go back and not get the same thing!

Did they chew before putting this in? :(

A little small for the dining area as they only have a handful of tables. The turnout of orders and quality makes up for it though!

The food is delicious, and the restaurant has a lovely, cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. The wait staff are always very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant feels very clean including the bathrooms, which I always appreciate. My favorites are the green Thai curry, the matcha bubble tea, and the Thai iced tea. Everything I've tried has been flavorful and well made. Definitely a place I look forward to coming back to.

I would definitely return to try more dishes because everything was well-seasoned and full of flavor. My meal was delicious, and every bite was packed with meat, which I really appreciated. The service could have been a little better, as my daughter's meal was forgotten even though she's a child. However, aside from that, we had a great time and truly enjoyed the experience. I look forward to coming back to try even more items on the menu.

I started with the pork dumplings (gyoza), which were perfectly cooked tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. For my main, I had the Pho Thai Palm noodle soup, and it was outstanding. The broth was rich and aromatic, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-balanced. It's the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. My server was friendly, food came out at a reasonable speed but I could tell it was cooked fresh. I ordered chicken satay and chicken pad thai. The satay was nicely grilled and the peanut sauce had a good cilantro flavor to it. The pad Thai I ordered medium on the hotness and was a bit hotter than I expected medium to be (I'm pretty fine with spices but I had to blow my nose a few times after the meal). If you don't like spice, stick to the mild. Portion sizes were good, I walked out full but not bloated, but I didn't have any leftovers either. Price was a bit higher than it should be for this meal, but that's becoming an epidemic all over the area lately, food prices are going up much faster than anything else and far out of proportion to a paycheck. $38 after tip for an appetizer, basic entree, and water felt high to me. But maybe I'm just old and remember when a nickel could buy a house and need to start readjusting my price expectations. J.Ja

We made a reservation, but ordered at the counter. We ordered a handful of dishes to share. The girl was very helpful and giving us a separate gluten-free menu that allowed us to order for my husband. This place is a Latin/Asian infusion so we were very excited to see how the flavors played out since it is two of our favorite types of food. The best thing I had was the special, stir fried udon noodles with the steak. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the chili spice on it was amazing and it wasn't overly sauced. The steak that accompanied it was also delicious. The tomato cucumber salad was fresh, but could've used a little more salt in my opinion. The bao bun and tacos were also nice and great portions. I would say for me I didn't love the pad Thai in comparison to the many that I've had before, because it was a bit different in flavor profiles than what I'm used to. I wanted a little bit more of the fish sauce and tamarin flavor. You have to get their milkshakes, I'm sure all of them are great. But the one we have was absolutely decadent and delicious! We had more than enough food, and ended up taking a lot of it home. They were multiple people helping us, and they were all very nice and friendly. I'm coming back for the udon noodle dish!
