Perfect weather for some pho! 8/10 Me and my boyfriend stopped by, we got the chicken bowl with thin noodles. It was perfect, hot, fresh and tasty! The broth is delicious, with lots of flavor. The chicken tasted delightful, thin with NO fat which is a good thing. I personally don't like the texture of fat. They give you veggies on the side which do taste fresh. I do wish they gave more veggies though. 7/10 We also got a side of egg rolls, I forgot to take a picture! The plate comes with 3 medium size egg rolls. They were good. They were a bit salty so thank goodness they do give you a side of some sweet sauce.. which does even it out! 7/10 Customer service was okay. As other reviews have already noted, this is the best pho in the 626 area. I was craving noodle soup today and saw that Pho 99 was new so I decided to come check it out. We were greeted instantly, brought menus and water. Ordered our food and it came out quickly. The broth is light but flavorful and their house chili sauce is delicious. My only complaint is that the meat could have been more tender. This will definitely be a regular rotation for me in the Fall and Winter. Loved that the restaurant was clean and had ample seating. We went to try pho99 during their grand opening. There is a good amount of parking and we were seated right away. I understand that when restaurants first open, there are things that could be improved on and there is a learning curve. As a restaurant that serves only pho, the plate of beansprouts/mint/lime was not brought out with the pho and also no spoons or saucers were provided. We asked for it about halfway through our bowl and the server brought out 2 saucers that were dirty with food on it. At that point we just went on with our meal and squirted the sauce on the vegetable plate. It was not too busy and there were a lot of servers so I think that with time and good training, these issues can be resolved. I had the pho #1 combination. The noodles and meat were great. However, the broth was more on the oilier/fatty side and a little bit cloudy. This may just be their style of broth but I prefer a broth that is skimmed regularly and is more clarified. I will try again in a few months to see if things improve but for now I will stick with my usual spot in San Gabriel. read more

Went in on a Saturday before their grand opening around 11am and it was pretty busy! The inside looks like the previous restaurant but we got seated quickly. There were a lot of families and pho all costs 12.99. In this economy, that's really not bad at all! Only one size for pho. Saw they had Chao long, which I'd only had when my mom makes it at home so I had to try it! Chao long was more like plain Chao and then they added the pork offal plainly, topped with ginger and onions. It was my friend's first time having it and they enjoyed the light flavor contrasting with the organ flavor of the offal. I'm used to a much stronger flavor and the Chao being brown from infusing with the offal so it was a pass for me... Great entry to the dish for someone who hasn't eaten organ meats before though! Pho was good as well - a little salty for my taste but not bad at all! Good amount of meat and a perfect portion in my opinion for the price. The pho came out very fast and wasn't hot enough. I felt it was lukewarm and also the bean sprout and veggies that goes along with the noodle wasn't brought out in advance and had to ask for it. I also ordered ice tea, but got water instead and was charged for it. I was also charged for items that didn't match the price on the menu. I've been to several pho places and I'm used to the broth being clear. When the pho was brought out it was very oily and difficult to eat. Without exaggeration I've been to Pho 99 about 2 times a week for the past month. This pho is amazing even before any of the garnishes are added. Once it is fixed to your liking and you have that first sip of broth you'll never want to eat another bowl of pho anywhere else. I usually order P3 (filet mignon and meatballs) and add tendon to it. Aside from the food being phenomenal, the service is also exceptional. The pho always comes out within 2 minutes of ordering. Tim is the best :) I tell everyone about this place. Service is a 2.5 out of 5 Came here for their grand opening later in the day since they were super busy in the morning. There was 1 family seated when we got in and the cashier informed us we could seat ourselves anywhere. After being seated a waiter came over to provide the menu however he did not speak English which was fine, since a different waiter served us when we placed our order. After placing our order they came back with 1 dish of bean sprout (not blanch which was fine) 2 quarter cut of lime and 2 basil stems. We had to ask separately for the vinegar onion since we saw another party received it. For the food I would rate 3/5 We ordered 2 dishes, #1 (beef on the side), #13, and a side of beef tendon. We waited about 15 mins for our food to come and notice that the bowl was smaller than expected compared to others. They gave plenty of noodles, respective amount of protein, but it felt like there was not enough broth. The broth had good flavor but wished they provided a bigger bowl with more broth and if it was much hotter. We realized upon receiving my dish, they did not have my beef on the side and it was added into the dish instead. I was going to tell them but the broth was not hot enough to cook the beef anyways. (I actually saw another customer asked for more broth since he had his beef on the side and it wasn't hot enough either). After we finished our pho (20 mins after receiving our pho, the beef tendon came out, it was pretty fatty which was fine but man that broth was piping hot which is what I expected for the pho. Not sure why we received it really late, It was either they forgot about it or it took that long to cook but they should have informed us). For being the grand opening, it was strange that not all table were ready in terms of their condiments, utensils, sauce, and sauce dishes. Even when we asked a waiter for sauce dishes he took from another table and then a couple sat at that table and now they didn't have any dishes either and asked the waiter. It wasn't as busy when we got there but did pick up after we left. The ambiance was nice but during that early evening the door was open and it attracted alot of flies so we had to eat and swat any flies that came by. Overall I would rate this 3/5 and probably would not come back due to the price of the dishes. There are others near sgv that are similar taste but better priced based on portion. One thing I will mention, the prices on the menu did not match what was charged, menu showed 3.99 for meat with tendons but was actually charged 4.99. Description on receipt was correct but the price did not match their menu. read more
