    Seafood noodle soup

Cash only. There's plenty of parking in the plaza lot but it can be busy. I got the seafood noodle soup which hit the spot. I tried the beef stew noodle soup which was good and had plenty of beef and tendon in it. Service is fast.

Came here yesterday for lunch with a buddy. This is the OG Kim Ky and still the best of all the Trieu Chau noodle spots. The broth actually has flavor and doesn't need extra condiments like you'd find at other places. We ordered the Hu Tieu Trieu Chau Thap Cam with flat rice noodle and thin egg noodle. I got mine dry with the broth on the side. We also had a Chinese donut (dau cha quay), which was perfect for dipping. Drinks come with complimentary iced tea. The food is hands down 5 stars. The satay and pickled chili here take the noodles to the next level. But the ambiance can get pretty loud, the decor is bare bones, and the service is your standard mom and pop style. Parking can also be a bit of a headache since the plaza is so busy. Overall, I'd rate this 4 stars. The food is amazing and keeps me coming back, but the atmosphere and service bring it down a notch. Still, this is the noodle spot I recommend to friends and family whenever cravings hit.

I LOVE this place! As someone who's Vietnamese, this just hits my soul. Perfect flavor on the dry noodles and you can mix it with the soup on the side which is so flavorful also. I always crave this place and have to stop by when I visit. Service is friendly though a bit hectic because it is always so busy there. If you like yellow noodle soups or hu tieu, I'd definitely come here to try their dry version. So so good and a variety of different versions that vary in what toppings you get.

Restaurants like these are why 626 is known to have the best Chinese food!! I am teo chew so this restaurant just hits home and is so consistent and reliable. Recommend the rice cake with egg and a nice bowl of flat rice noodles with sole filet and fish balls. The satay beef noodles is really good too. The portions here are super generous so you'll definitely leave feeling very satisfied

This place is located on garvey inside a shopping plaza called Vikon Center. Plenty of parking in there and there is street parking as well. Kim Ky is different from kim kee and it's 2 separate restaurants so don't get them mixed up. Both are really similar and both have their signature fish fried fish cakes. They have 3 different locations: one in San Gabriel on San Gabriel Blvd, one in Rosemead on Garvey Ave and one in Westminster. Make sure you bring CASH because it's cash only! Food is decent! Service is great! Servers are friendly and helpful! Make sure you order their fried fish cakes because it's one of their signature dish. For the food alone, i would give it a 4 star. Interior is old and not as clean so I would give it a 3.5 but I gave them a 5 because i didn't bring cash and they helped me out. Yes, they can always find ways but its also something they set as rules and they were still friendly and helped me out when I didnt bring cash.

Kim Ky is staple. Very delicious and very fast. I went here recently and tried something new. I usually get the fish and chicken. The sauce is amazing! I love the soup broth. Cash only, so bring cash!

Menu selections of soups are numerous and the type of noodle (rice, egg, vermicelli or wide) makes it a good place to eat. The restaurant opens at 8 AM so you can start the day with a hot bowl of broth with a protein of your liking. Service is prompt, either in English or Vietnamese. Just remember that payment is cash only.

Came here on a Sunday morning, since my friend and I were craving for some bay area style "TK Noodle" My friend had told me this place serves a noodle soup that tastes very much like the ones we have in San Jose.... so had to try. This place was busy in the morning and we had to take a number. We waited for about 20 minutes. The restaurant was clean, and despite located in an old plaza, it was good to see that they kept their level of cleanliness. I ordered their Vermicelli Noodle soup and their Daikon with egg dish. The noodle soup tasted excellent. It was just like the ones I used to have in San Jose. Of course, I selected the flat noodle. The Daikon dish was just OK, would probably skip it next time. Will definitely be coming here again.

11/14/24: fried fish cake. Im just ok with this kinda fish cake. Good but I prefer Taiwanese fish cake (Taiwanese tempura) lol

Date of visit: 11/14/2024 Not my first visit here, and again, I couldn't believe myself for failing to write a review until now! So anyways, there are several locations of Kim Ky noodle. I'm not sure if they are all owned by the same person or if they are all separately owned and operated. Out of all Kim Kys, I feel this location is the most consistent one in terms of the flavor of their noodle. Whenever I go to Teow Chew noodle place, I always order the same thing: the assorted meat noodle (dry) with soup on the side. In other places, sometimes I'd get bland noodle and/or not freshly-tasted meat (the pork and/or the shrimp) but never at this location. This restaurant has consistently delivered, which I really favor for. My rice noodle is always cooked to perfection (my perfection when it comes to rice noodles is soft) and it's always flavorful. I never need to add any soy sauce and or fish sauce into my bowl. Just straight dig in! The only thing that I feel is lacking at this place is the richness of the side broth that comes with the noodle. I've had a much better and rich broth elsewhere, and therefore I can't give it 5 stars in my review. Sorry but my standard can be pretty high when it comes to noodle lol. Anyways, I would still highly recommend this place if you'd like to have a delicious teow chew style dry noodle. Tip: - always order the fried Chinese donut and dip it in the soup right before taking a bite and eat it with your noodle. - always ask for more fried onion to mix with your dry noodle. These add so much flavor to your noodle YOURE WELCOME!

Cant go wrong with Kim Ky noodle house! Great comfort noodles for the right price. We had a party of two and got seated right away as there were a few tables open. Did not stay open for long as they immediately had a line waiting. I love how you can choose which type of noodles you'd like. I always go with the flat rice noodles. The parking lot can get pretty packed, but its nice that there's many spaces.

Their fried rice cake is the best!!! we just had an early brunch and their pan-fried rice cake cooked perfectly and it was very flavorful!! Their quality is consistent! Wish they open one nearby us!

My parents love their noodle soups and the pan fried rice cake with egg. They package their togo orders really well and make sure there is vinegar, chili, soy sauce, utensils. Of course check bc there was one time they missed bean sprouts, but they work really fast and orders ready to get picked up.

We used to come here often before the pandemic, and finally made it back for a visit. We ordered our usual -- the #1 Assorted Meat & Shrimp with Rice Noodle. This time, I switched it up and tried the rice pin noodles instead of the flat rice noodles -- but I regretted it. The flat noodles are definitely the better choice! The soup was just as good as I remembered: light, savory, and with that comforting touch of sweetness from the broth. I could honestly drink it forever. There's a generous portion of assorted meats, including a piece of kidney and two pieces of shrimp. This place is always busy, so be sure to come early and grab a ticket!

Three Years Later... The OG Flavor Is STILL OG!…read more Haven't been back to this spot in over THREE years! After hearing they went through a whole trial of new ownership and are now back with the original ownership, I figured it was finally time to come back and see if the OG still had it... and spoiler alert: THEY DO. #27 Hủ Tiếu Mì Nam Vang (Khô Hay Nước) -- 9.5/10 | $16.99 #30 Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả Cua Trứng Muối, Tàu Hủ Ky -- 8/10 | $14.99 Let's start with the reason I came back... #27 Hủ Tiếu Mì Nam Vang -- 9.5/10 | $16.99 This is hands down one of my favorite dishes from here YEARS ago, and I was honestly nervous it wouldn't taste the same after being gone for so long. But WOW... it still hits! I ordered the special egg noodle + clear noodle combination, and you get the option of dry or soup-based. I went with the dry version because that's where the magic happens! The noodles sit over their special sauce at the bottom, so once you mix everything together, every single strand gets coated in that sweet, savory goodness. It comes loaded with a delicious mix of meats, plus a side of fresh veggies and a pork bone soup for dipping or sipping alongside. The broth was hot, flavorful, and comforting, while the noodles had that perfect texture. And somehow... after THREE YEARS, it tastes the same--if not BETTER. This is clearly one of the dishes they're known for, and I completely understand why. 10/10, no notes. This bowl alone was worth the drive back! #30 Cơm Tấm Sườn Bì Chả Cua Trứng Muối, Tàu Hủ Ky -- 8/10 | $14.99 Hubby went with the broken rice dish, which came with a pork chop, shredded pork skin, steamed egg with salted egg yolk, and tàu hủ ky, plus a side of soup. I actually really enjoyed how simple and comforting this dish was. The pork chop was nicely done, and the shredded pork skin added a good texture. The only thing that threw me off was the salted egg yolk--it was VERY subtle and honestly didn't have much flavor at all. I was expecting that salty, rich egg-yolk punch, but she was definitely playing shy. Still a solid dish overall and came with a nice little bowl of soup on the side. And can we talk about the renovation?! After three years, I walked in and was like... EXCUSE ME, WHO IS SHE?! The restaurant has been completely renovated and has such a much nicer, modern ambience compared to what I remember from years ago. It feels fresh, clean, and welcoming while somehow still keeping that familiar feeling of the OG spot. Service: Super quick! We were seated immediately around 5:30 PM, and our food came out in less than 8 minutes. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and ready to eat. Honestly, I'm SO glad I gave this place another try. Sometimes you leave a restaurant for years and come back wondering if the food will still live up to the memories... and this one absolutely did. If anything, the OG ownership coming back may have been exactly what this place needed. I already know what I'm ordering next time because that #27 is officially BACK on my rotation! Happy Eats!

The broth is perfectly seasoned and really ties the whole bowl together. I always ask to skip the blood cubes and opt for extra pig's feet instead, which they handle perfectly. The ratio of tender meat to fresh vegetables balances the noodles beautifully, and the satay is an absolute must-add to hit that savory umami flavor profile. All in all, I have no complaints. It's an incredibly satisfying meal, especially after a long night out with friends.

Pretty Trang tasty. Get it?!…read more Today, I stopped by for a Bon Rieu, Nem Cuom, and a House Special iced tea. Service: Service was short and the entire wait took 5 minutes. That's right, 5 minutes. Although I did go around 9:50AM so there wasn't a line nor another party in the dining area. Food: I woke up craving Vietnamese and this place didn't disappoint. The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.

It had lots of noodles and toppings: tripe, rare beef, tendon, meat balls, and brisket. Pho was really rich in flavor. I also loved that the sizzling pots kept the broth hot the whole time. Noodles were also very bouncy, loved the texture. Beef short ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. Although it was very busy during a Tuesday lunch hour, the waiters sat us asap. So yeah, it's another Vietnamese spot in Rosemead. And before you say anything -- yes, it's a pho review. Again. Look, I don't make the rules, I just eat the soup. This place does something a little different though. Their thing is the earth stone bowl -- basically a heated stone bowl that keeps your broth stupid hot while all your toppings come on the side in separate little dishes. Cool concept, very extra, I respect the commitment. But here's the thing -- it was hot outside. Like uncomfortably, aggressively, why-am-I-outside hot. So sweating over a volcanic bowl of soup wasn't exactly on my agenda. I went with the regular bowl, picked two types of beef and tendon, and called it a day. First sip of the broth and I genuinely had to put the spoon down for a second. Not in a dramatic way -- just in a "okay, this is actually really good" kind of way. It holds up against every other spot I've been to, no question. But what got me was the flavor -- there's something subtle going on in there that's hard to put your finger on but impossible to ignore. The kind of broth that just works and doesn't need to explain itself. The toppings were solid, but the tendon was lowkey the highlight. Soft, chewy, not rubbery -- exactly what you want. Some places fumble the tendon. These guys didn't. Iced tea on the side, Saturday afternoon, nothing else going on -- honestly doesn't get much better than that. Should've come here sooner. My loss.

We had three people and realistically, that's way too much food. We ended up taking one of the noodle dishes to go and half orders of the spring rolls and banh beo to go as well. Parking is a bit difficult to find, but we were lucky since it was a week day and we were able to find street parking. There is a note on the storefront that customers could park in the Hawaii Supermarket parking lot but that could get packed real fast. Found a new favorite! I am already planning to stop by on my next trip out to SGV.
