There's supposed to be pork in here! Ha! Scam artists.
    Daniel Y.

I have to say this was the poorest execution of Vietnamese food I have ever experienced. We had ordered 6 sandwiches, basic beef pho, and their fried pork egg rolls(overpriced) but only thing that's tastes good on the menu. HORRIBLE RENDITION might I add though. Can you imagine this place takes pride in opening knowing they are really ripping you off. Serving you specks of food for a premium. Glad to know I will never support this location ever again. So it started with the grilled pork sandwiches aka their banh mi. Absolutely no meat what so ever. There was one sliver of pork in that sandwich. Come guys, wake up. Pork is 3-4 dollars a POUND. Wouldn't hurt for this business to be less stingy. Add more meat to your sandwiches it's 10 bucks put some damn meat in the bread. After calling and requesting to speak to the manager, it proved this place should never have earned my business that day from the get go. Rude, incompetent, and lack of common sense to actually engage in a normal discussion. The tone and lack of respect was absolutely unacceptable. He didn't care one bit, laughing in the background with his friends like it was a joke. Shameful way to run a business. If anyone understands respect especially regarding the food industry. Will accept that this is not how a manager/owner whatever the title your tax papers say should be how you manage a customers insight. Pho is trash here as well. The broth is extremely watered down and has NO flavor. Ramen will always be superior, PHO is trash, water boiled with spices need I say more?. Go somewhere else. I'd rather go to McDonald's than put a dollar here ever again. Also 15.50 for 5 egg rolls is diabolical. You guys need to wake up. It's just pork with some spices, wrapped in rice paper fried in the worst oil that costs 50 bucks for 5 gallons that they reuse for over a week. Wake up people, restaurants like this is are a total sham and slap in the face for anyone who works hard and wants to have a decent meal. Pure trash. Never again.

Always a good experience dining in & ordering to go! When I dine in they are quick to sit us & serve us. Always nice & attentive. Food is delicious, love the pho, Thai tea, eggs rolls, banh mihs here! Everything is great can't go wrong with this place! They renovated too so it's a nicer ambiance inside! Recently ordered to go & was ready when I got there & had a super yummy lunch!

I've been coming here since they opened. As a kid, we went to their original location in SG frequently. I love their egg rolls. The pork chop here has gotten thinner and more dry over the years but I dunno why I still get it. The pho is solid too. I've had the spring rolls and banh hoi with meatballs and shrimp paste which are also good. This location's menu is more catered to the younger or American crowd cause it's pretty much all in English and it's basically all pick your own combo. I still come here instead of the original cause it's closer and parking is usually easier. Prices have gotten higher over the years but then again what hasn't. I'm sure there are cheaper places but for the quality and service you get, it's a solid choice.

I ordered Golden Deli through Uber Eats for a quick meal, and they definitely satisfied my craving for a good Banh Mi! Their service was really quick, my order being ready after about 10 minutes from sending the order. When I arrived, the staff was very friendly, and pickup was super seamless! I ordered a banh mi as well as a Vietnamese coffee. The banh mi was super solid; however, the Vietnamese coffee was super, super sweet. I've never had Vietnamese coffee before, but given that it's made with condensed milk, I assumed it would lean on the sweeter side, but not to this extent. I had to wait until the ice melted, which then made it a sweetness that I am more used to. Overall, this is a pretty solid spot! Definitely would visit again, but maybe not get the coffee.

Came back recently and got the pho. It's also back to a sit down place but they still have the soda fountain out in the open. Service is friendly and the food is good!

We came an hour before they closed and there was still a queue (#4 in line). Thankfully the wait was not too long. Staff seated us quickly and took our orders fast too. The restaurant was still pretty busy too. I got the beef pho with brisket and ribeye. The broth was alright, not spectacular and not as good as I remember. Portion was decent.

We went there for a late lunch and ordered three 3-bean drinks, chicken wings, the pho combination, and tomato crab meat soup. The only standout was the 3-bean drink -- everything else was average. I especially didn't like that the soup wasn't hot enough. There were four of us (two adults and two kids), and we didn't even want to finish the dishes. The service was also unprofessional -- we asked for a bowl, and the server forgot about it right after.

We had a really delicious lunch here. Wait was 10 minutes and we were seated quickly The food brought us so much comfort and the portions were huge! The vermicelli (beef and egg roll was our favorite.) the egg roll was extremely crispy and well filled. The Bun Bo hue was so hearty and the broth was perfec. We ordered a large so they gave us extra noodle and it was definitely extra! The rice dish was also very solid - huge portions and meat was cooked perfectly.

This is my wife and I's go-to pho place. It's not always consistent so that's why it's a 4 vs 5 star for me. However it usually slaps. I go with the regular pho tai always and it gets my pho fix. We've tried their egg rolls too and those were spectacular - crispy on the outside but juicy and scrumptious on the inside. I've also had one of their noodle dishes and it was just as great. I think their fish sauce is a bit sweeter than my usual taste though.

Golden Deli is a Vietnamese restaurant in Temple City with parking available in the back. Inside, there are plenty of tables, and I was seated in a booth, which had a call-for-service button. However, the service was attentive, checking in regularly, so I didn't need to use it. I came for Sunday night dinner and was seated quickly. The regular pho, priced at $14.50, was a nicely sized bowl filled with plenty of noodles, beef, and fresh garnishes like bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeño. It was large enough to be shared between two people. The Com Tám three-item combo plate for $16.95 was very delicious. My favorite parts were the baked egg and grilled beef, both flavorful and well-cooked. The dish also came with a generous portion of rice, fish sauce, peanuts, and cucumber, making for a satisfying meal. Everything was delicious and priced affordable. I have no complaints. The service was quick and efficient, and the overall ambiance felt relaxing and private, especially from the comfort of a booth in the back of the restaurant.

    S W C.

Very disappointing Saturday takeout experience. The egg rolls and dry noodles were good, but the chicken pho was surprisingly bad . We opened our order within 30 minutes of picking it up, so it wasn't a timing issue. Their service is usually reasonably fast and friendly, and the place was still busy with many people waiting in the lobby. But the food quality tonight was not up to their usual standard. At this point, it doesn't feel worth the wait or the price anymore. We really hope that they can improve their quality control to make sure the food they serve consistently meets expectations. We might not come back in a while.

Golden Deli is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Before this location opened, I used to visit their main location on Las Tunas Drive. All the food on the menu is exceptional.

Why is this place constantly closed for long periods every couple of months? It's Jan 24th and they were supposed to be reopened after closing earlier this month, why are they still closed?

I believe it's because of Lunar New Years that happens around this time

How are they operating during Covid? Is it different?

Take out only. Call ahead to place your order. No dining in or outside. Still have the same great food and taste so it's worth it. They have a real good system in place for takeout.

    Are you closed? Till when?

Their Facebook indicates they will be reopening on May 1st for takeout orders.

Are they open for delivery or takeout? I've been calling both locations and no luck.

I went today and they are closed. Don't when would they be reopen again.

Is this location also closed until November?

It appears open. When I drive by later I can see if they have a bite. But the hours show it open.

Is the phone still working? I tried many times for a period of one week.

    They're closed until November 1st

What happened today? Went for dinner and the front window looked smashed out and the police were there? Ended up eating at Banana Leaf.

A car drove through it on Early last week :( they're closed until further notice. You can check out their Facebook for updates!

It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced! The only reason I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 rating is because you can only order certain items from the menu when they open. I wanted to get some Chinese food to-go for my husband, but was told by the server that the other items were only available beginning at 10 am, which is odd to me.

I came by on a Friday at 7pm for a dinner (weekend before Mother's Day) and was able to get seated in 15 minutes. They have a Yelp waitlist but you must go in person to join the waitlist. There's a spacious parking lot but there's rarely any spots available and will require you to wait for a free one. The interior is honestly very pretty. It's decorated with overhead chandeliers with bright lights and marble tables. When your table is ready, they also give you a tray full of chopsticks, napkins, and forks. Each table also has hoisin, sriracha, chili sauce, and another sauce I'm not too sure about. After we ordered, I got my pho da biet maybe 5 minutes after. The cha gios also came out a few minutes after too. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's com tam was forgotten about until after I devoured my pho. We even asked them about it in the middle and it was checked on but we weren't updated and thought they had went ahead and cancelled it but it still came out. No biggy, we packed it to-go since we basically split the pho da biet. Food: Pho da biet (9.5/10): The pho was soooo delicious. It was meaty with a little bit of sweetness to it. This is one of the few places where I don't feel the need to sauce down my pho to enjoy it. There's a good amount of meat in here. If you're a tendon enjoyer, there's about 3 big chunks in here. I love the way they separate everything. If you order this, it comes with the stone bowl at no additional costs. They separate the noodles and ribeye on the side and let you "decorate" it yourself. There was also a good amount of noodles in here. Com tam (7.9/10): I thought that this one was just okay. We got the grilled pork and grilled pork chop and I thought that the meats were cooked perfectly. There was a nice char to the meats and it was seasoned deliciously. It came with a lot of rice and a side of soup to enjoy! I did enjoy this fish sauce more than the one that came with the egg rolls. Overall, I wish this dish came out the same time as the pho so we could've enjoyed it together. Cha gio/Imperial Rolls (7/10): I love egg rolls but this one didn't really stand out to me. It comes with a good amount of vegetables that you can use to wrap your egg rolls in. I wish the fish sauce that came with this was more salty. Maybe it was that day, but I couldn't really tell what was inside the filling. It was all mushed in together instead of different layers. The skin was very thin and crispy which I really liked!

Food here is great! The most recent time I came here I got the nem nuong rolls and com tam. I personally think the nem nuong rolls here are better than the ones in brodard chateau. Com tam is really flavorful too and the portions are generous-definitely had some leftover. Wait staff here is attentive and patient. They speak both Vietnamese and English.

Oh my! I've had this place on the radar and traveled a bit to finally check it off my list to try!…read moreI can say that I am super happy that I finally came to check it out! We came around 1pm on a Saturday and was surprised that we got a table right away. Dining room was busy the entire time we were there and people shuffled in and out. Everything we ate was delicious!! The nem nuong rolls were so good -- each roll had a generous piece of nem nuong with that perfect smoky-sweet flavor. You can tell they don't skimp on the good stuff here. Every bite had a great balance of herbs, noodles, and that delicious grilled pork. The bun bo hue was a huge bowl of comfort. The broth was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it came loaded with big, meaty pork feet and pork blood that made it feel extra hearty and authentic. Definitely one of those dishes that warms your soul. We also tried the banh beo. The flour mixture was a little on the thicker side, but it was still really tasty--especially with those crispy little pieces of pork fat on top that add such a great savory crunch. On top of the food, the service was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience even better. All in all, a great meal and I can't wait to come back and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

A friend was visiting from out of state and is vegetarian, I have heard of this place from family,…read morebut was excited to try their dishes. We came with a group on a saturday and they were able to seat us immediately - plenty of parking in the large plaza where the Hat and Shiki Buffet is (previously hometown buffet location). All of the items on the menu were intriguing, but I was eyeballin' the salt and pepper one and the fried tofu. My buddy got the lemongrass "chicken" and also the curry with bread. Since we were eager to try the different types of food, we did a family style and that was the best decision. We also got eggplant, and the rice cake/egg. I thought the rice cake looked underwhelming, but our entire group had a consensus and voted that as the top fave of the night. Everything was super tasty and we left happy and full and with leftovers! Super excited to return and to recommend to others. I look forward to come back to try some of the other items such as the "beef" noodle soup or the bun rieu or pho! I also appreciate that some of the dishes came with rice included -we actually ended up with too much rice, but perfect for leftovers the next day. Upon checking out, there was delicious thing by the cash register that was green and resembled a bundt cake in slices. It was labled mochi pandan, and it was AMAZING. so spongy, so delicious and a little sweet. Perfect end of the night that my buddy got one to go right after. It was made fresh and you can tell by how soft it was. I appreciate that this restaurant has vegetarian versions of common vietnamese and chinese dishes. They all were delicious and unique and did not feel too oily or heavy. They look and taste like meat and also the sauces were 100% on point. Thank you Happy Buddha!!

Had an early lunch on a Sunday here…read more The menu is vegetarian, however most dishes can be made vegan except for those like the egg noodles, or egg soup. We order a mix of items and shared. We enjoyed all of them. I was especially happy they had a non-dairy milk for Thai tea - and it was yummy! They served us a surprise dessert of a sweet mung bean soup like dish - that was a nice treat and unexpected.
