I come here, a lot, alone, with a real big attitude toward food. By attitude i just meant stomach or appetite. I like the food, the service is hit and miss. But who cares, they only bring out the food, and wait till you jump up and down enough for them to notice to refill your water or let you order more food. Just kidding, I didn't jump, just broke my arm with waving for 5 minutes. Good exercise either way. Price is decent, IMO, compared to EAD or places around, and its even better in quality, again, IMO. Don't kill me if you don't like the food or get poisoned. JK. But don't. Watch your bill, sometimes there can be mistake. Pho is good, very good sometimes, sometimes the broth is not hot enough to cook the beef. Gyoza is good, pork and beef spring rolls are good, sushi....eh, no comment. I have tried the rice plates, sizzling plates, hu tieu, deep fried noodles and pan fried noodles, alllllllll, and i meant *ALL* are good. Try to avoid their fake crab tho, its a bit odd, unless you like fake crab then its no brainer. Meanwhile, Togo order is not so good. My soup Togo was lacking some ingredients, and it seems to not be so fulfilling taste wise, or quantity of food. Idk, maybe just eat there?? Hence, one star down. Will I be back? One of their sushi rolls tasted very foul and not right. i spit out the one piece i tried and let them know id like to send it back because it didn't taste normal. The manager told me "when i go to a restaurant and don't like it i still pay for it, so we're not taking anything off the bill." This place used to be good maybe 2 years ago when I use to work in the area but has now fell off after coming back to try it again. The pho broth is way too sweet and not much of the beef flavor from the bones. It just wasn't good and I did not finish my food. If you're looking for pho, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I was travelling for work and stopped in here based on some stellar Yelp reviews! I was in the mood for pho and didn't try the sushi, though they have an actual sushi bar too not just table service, which is cool. At least it leads me to believe they take it seriously. I was sat immediately. Big dining room, and I have no doubt this place gets super full lunch and dinner time. Very friendly and fast service. I went for the spring rolls (with pork and shrimp! Yes!) and a combination pho. I also asked for thai tea, which wasn't on the menu and was surprised when they brought me out a big cup filled and sealed (like a boba tea cup) and it was amazing! I would highly recommend it. The spring rolls were maybe the best I've had. The pork especially was really good. The peanut sauce was finger licking good. The pho arrived hot and and a big bowl. I added all my veggies, sriracha, hoisin, and dug in. The combination pho really has something of everything in it. Tripe, rare beef, meatballs, and a few other assorted meaty goodies. While I'm not a tripe fan, the broth was really good and easy to pick and choose what I wanted to dig into. I couldn't finish it all. I left stuffed! I'd go back again no question. read more

First impression it had a very odd smell and In need of a good clean did throw me off but I decided to give it a try from all the rave reviews. Service= meh. Beer was fairly cheap and I ordered the is udon stirfry with beef and vermicelli with grilled pork. DO NOT ORDER THE STIRFRY! It tasted like boiled beef with lots of sauce and overcooked udon. I'm not a picky eater but I rarely eat out for Vietnamese food. Usually I would cook it at home but I had to give this place a try. Got the Bún Thịt Nớng (vermicelli w/ pork and egg rolls), it was DELICIOUS, even though there wasn't a lot of noodles the flavor of the pork and the egg rolls made up for it twice over. This place is great because it's close to home, has some pretty good pho and vermicelli bowls, sushi, and Chinese dishes all in one place. Is it the best pho I've ever had? No, but it's a solid go to around here. I do love that they have the usual hoisin, soy, chili paste and such on the table so you can add in a little variation of the sweet broth that comes with the bowls. Sushi was decent, got half a New York roll, three pieces of maguro (tuna) sashimi, and one escolar (super white) nigiri...the escolar was super tasty, as they added the toasted garlic over the top, which I love the garlicky goodness along with the crunchy texture complimenting the soft buttery flavor of the fish. Spring rolls are pretty good as well, again not the best I've had, but solid...their peanut sauce is outstanding though...not sure what they do different but it's great! I came here with family, my very first time here. Upon first impression it was your average pho restaurant. I ordered a spicy salmon hand roll and a small combination pho. The hand roll was very good--came with avocado, rice, fish, and sauce. With the pho, the broth was fairly light, doesn't pack that savory punch that i'm used to, a sort of sweet taste to it that isn't too disagreeable, but it somewhat lacks that beefy taste one gets used to with good pho. The fixings were good, just the broth that i wasn't quite satisfied with. Overall, pretty good, for the price and location--but if you're looking for something to hit the spot, i'd say go to your usual place if you have one. read more

This is the new spot for a crowd pleasing meal, especially for our family of both vegans and hardcore carnivores. We started with the vegetable spring rolls, and then ordered the filet mignon pho and veggie noodle soup. According to the carnivore in our group, the meat in the filet mignon pho was "incredible" and much more tender than the beef in most other pho. The veggie noodle soup was filled with bok choy, carrots, green beans, water chestnuts, little corn, and more. The veggie broth was light, almost clear, but had nice flavor. Once we added the trimmings and chili garlic sauce, it was perfect. This place has replaced our beloved Vietnamese spot in Conroe (which will go unnamed) as the family favorite. read more

Been eating here for years now and have gone through the total new ownership which happened about a 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. There were horrible problems at first to A-Ok food for a long time. My last 3 visits were 4 star quality overall so I'm upping my star rating. I really enjoyed the filet mignon pho (ordered raw on the plate). Check out my pic if you want. It was more elongated rounder pieces and tender with a superior flavor over their eye round. I still continue to get the B4 which is Bun with pork and fried egg roll. I really like the meat/egg roll, veggie combo and ground peanuts they give with it. It's a nicely balanced portion with lots of yummy flavor and even tastes healthy. There are a few other items I get sometimes also. The sushi overall IMO is still just A-OK. They have California rolls 4 different ways. Best to stay with the basic rolls if you do order any. They have a several page menu with pictures. They also have appetizers, a few vegetarian entrees, Japanese udon, wonton soups, rice platter entrees and some Chinese food which actually looks good. I like my Vietnamese pho and bun entrees I order too much to order any Chinese entrees though. I've always had decent to good friendly service. Just pay at the front counter when you're done. My review is JUST for the sushi bar. Sushi and pho, that's not something you normally hear paired together. I prepared to come in for average sushi, but by golly, this had to be one of the best sushi I have ever had. The sashimi was so fresh and the sushi was very well prepared. The head chef, Chef Nuke Is a very knowledgeable guy trained from the finest. He prepared our food with such care and expertise, it almost looked like art! I know I sound cheesy, but he really did do a great job. He carefully explained the works of preparing the food, how to pair the sauces, and the preparation of the condiments. First time to try this place out, Absolutely disgusting !!! Ordered the small Pho which arrived with no veggies (standard for Pho). Had to ask for all the fixins. Disgusting part is there are chopsticks on each table (see picture), I grabbed first set and the ends were oily with food debris on them (see pics)!!!! Took out a second set, oily with no debris!! Obvious signs they are used and then barely wiped and put back in the paper holders...NOT wiped clean enough!!!! I grabbed a package of the wooden ones from the bar to use which were sealed shut in the paper package, thank God! I then asked for a knife to cut the jalapeños and chicken and IT came out with dried on food!!! Told the manager who did absolutely nothing!!! Hidden secret of a place here folks!!! Lots of love and care go into EVERY dish that the kitchen creates and the amazing staff presents quickly on the table. I'm not gonna lie - could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here... Sssooooo good! Starter fav - fresh shrimp spring rolls. (Could eat a million of these .. Ok... 3 n I'm tapped). Dunk these puppies in hoisin, sirrocha n maybe a smiggin of peanut sauce and hhheeaaven! Favorite dish (while all are amazing) is good ol' comfort soup like grandma would make - Pho - p3 ... With beef on the side so I can create my masterpiece first - loading my piping hot soup bowl with fresh basil, bean sprouts n a squeeze or two of fresh lime followed by beef diving into bowl and cooking to perfection... Fantastic! I'm pretty much a phò snob. I've had it in many countries and cities from NYC to Paris. This is on par for sure! This area has some really mediocre places so I'm thrilled to find this place. Egg rolls were fresh, the Vietnamese coffee was excellent. The phò has a great broth ( this is critical!). Went there for the first time today with my friend. We both ordered Miso soup and we should have stopped right there and left. The soup consisted of things you would traditionally find in miso soup such as the tofu, seaweed, and scallions but the broth was just pho broth. That was a big red flag. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and continued to order. My friend ordered the Kung Pao chicken with fried rice and the first bite of chicken she took she got stabbed in the mouth with a bone. I ordered a few different types of sushi. I was terribly disappointed. All I could taste was the spicy mayo they smothered every roll with. I couldn't even tell the difference between each roll. It was quite disgusting. I really will never recommend them to anyone I know. The food was terrible and for two people it was nearly 50 dollars for terrible food. We will never be going back there. We came here because of the 4 star review, but were very disappointed. First off, the waiter seemed like he was pressed on taking our order, but there were only 3 other occupied tables. He handed us a paper menu for sushi that had been used and whited-out. Not a very pleasing or sanitary way of being introduced to a restaurant. The sushi rolls were small (roughly 1 inch in diameter) with little filling and mostly rice. The Philly Roll had a weird gas-like after-taste. The tuna sashimi was a strange pink/white color with no flavor. I would recommend to avoid items with raw fish as they seem to be frozen. I also got a good amount of bones in the eel roll. Overall, pushy staff, not sanitary, and poor quality in sushi products. I can not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was visiting from LA and was pleased to find this place close to my hotel. The vermicelli with stir fried tofu was Texas-sized, a little oily but otherwise tasty with crisp, fresh vegetables. At about $8 it was a pretty good value. The Texas-sized spicy tuna handroll had a piece of avocado and some spicy mayo - I guess that's how it's done in Texas. The tuna was fresh, chunky rather than minced and the rice was a bit mushy. At $3.50 it proved that you get what you pay for. The restaurant has high ceilings, is light and airy and not too noisy except for an overhead air conditioning unit. The staff was accurate and swift if not exactly friendly. read more

Friendly servers, fast service. Clean restroom. Pho fillet is a bomb! Good broth, meat, and fresh basal. Pho Áp Chao seafood has a unique crunchy savory taste. Love every bit of it. Bún Bò Hue is not very good: too much meat, lack of substance in the broth, need a larger variety of vegetables. The small printed pictures on the wall look kind of ... out of place. The reviews are enticing, so we decided to try it out. However upon entering we didn't feel the warmth of the place. We asked if we can just sit anywhere the lady at the counter just gave me a slow nod. We just waited and waited until I can't wait anymore , I waived my hands in the air .The lady who took our order was all smiles which is good, she took our orders without a pen and paper which is fine thinking she might have a very good memory, sad to say she don't . She forgot 2 of our orders which were also excited to try , we didn't bother reordering them anymore. We had 2 batches of food, 2 sets appetizers spring rolls and crab rangoon they're good! The 2nd batch came sad to say again they didn't dish out the dishes, they just simply squeeze the food on the barely seen spots. ‍ We had the most awaited food we've been craving for in this restaurant the "pho's". Hmm 7 small pieces of sliced thin meat in a large bowl? so few for its size compared to other pho restaurants we've been. The soup was a bit bland, I had to pour the sauce of the spring roll to add more flavor to it. My husband says it ok nothing wow about it and my mom says okay but less meat . Not as good as the other restaurants we've been. My son had an orange chicken I didnt ask him anymore because he finished the fried rice but barely touched the chicken. In short my family's excitement turned to disappointment. Price is decent by the way. I'll still be back to try the phenomenal pho maybe just me and my son.
