Heard about this place on the golf course this morning and decided to stop by. Small place located…read morenext to a Dairy Queen business, run out of a trailer. Arrived and walked up to the window and was greeted by Kate, one of the owners. Super personality and provided a lot of information on their business. Got a sample of the brisket which was super moist. You could taste the cherry and apple wood they are using in it, great taste to me. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich platter. $8 includes one side and a drink. Had Mac n cheese as a side, good taste with plenty of cheese. Also ordered the beans they were good but I would probably add maybe some onion and some of the BBQ sauce to them. Also had Cole slaw which was the creamy version, it wasn't bad at all. Ordered a side of 3 wings, $1 a wing, great price, they were flapper's, the wings had a heavy breading to them but we're super moist on the inside. They also give veterans a discount which is a major plus. The business has been open since April and there is a great story behind it. Good People, Great Food Howdy folks! My name is Joel and my beautiful wife is Kate. We started this business with a couple hundred dollars from each paycheck and it has taken two years to get this business up and running! The reason for this adventure is because we have custody of our grandchildren and we want to teach them that anything is possible if you're willing to work for your dreams. The ultimate goal is to teach them the business from the group up so that someday they can continue on the tradition of Good People, Great Food. So if you're looking for some good old fashioned hometown southern BBQ, come see us at Papa Joe's Hometown BBQ! All of our food is locally sourced and smoked daily.

First and foremost, the prices are outrageous especially for the quality of food you get. Next up the staff mixed up my wife and I's order and we each agreed the food wasn't good at all. Reminded me of a school lunch in grade school. I'd recommend passing on this place and spending your money elsewhere, otherwise you'll come away with a much lighter wallet and an unsatisfied stomach.

I enjoyed this restaurant. The name is very odd, but it's a nice place with extremely kind staff…read more I had a burger that was pretty good. A double patty smash burger style. The tomatoes on the burger were diced, not sliced. I've never had them that way, but it worked. The french fries were really just about perfect. They were as fresh as could be and had a subtle seasoning similar to Grippos chips, but more subdued. Lots of menu choices including vegetarian options. Clean inside and notably, the restroom had an accommodation for those who practice Islam.

The place wasn't crowded--just two staff members were present--but it did take a little while to be acknowledged. There was someone ahead of me who I thought was in line, but he was actually waiting on a DoorDash order. It seemed like the staff were preoccupied with that, which delayed them noticing new customers walking in. According to my husband, the menu changes frequently. I browsed a bit and decided to go with a classic chicken cheesesteak--just mayo and banana peppers. I got it as a combo with a drink and onion rings. They only offered soda or water for drinks, and I do wish there was an alternative like juice or tea. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting much since we're not in Philly--but let me tell you, that first bite changed everything! The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the cheese was just right, and the bread was the perfect texture--not too soft, not too hard. It was seriously delicious. The onion rings weren't your typical rings with raw onions inside--instead, they seemed more like a crispy, flavored version with a mild onion taste, which I actually preferred since I'm not a big fan of onions. We also ordered a cheeseburger meal for my kids (not listed on the menu but available), and my husband got the loaded Philly steak fries, which he really enjoyed. All in all, the food exceeded my expectations. I'd definitely come back, especially for that chicken cheesesteak!
