This is a great little local pho place in West Seattle! For those of us who don't live near the Junction or Admiral district and are a bit further away from restaurants in WS, it's great to have this little place centrally located on Delridge meeting all of our Vietna-needs. For a while my partner and I were doing a vegan cleanse, and we are sometimes-vegetarians who don't eat a lot of meat, so we love their veggie pho here. We live closer to White Center which has a plethora of pho places but unfortunately NONE of them have vegetarian pho (no vegetarian broth, while some have tofu to put in the soup the broth is still meat based). So this was our saving grace, and we continue to go back here frequently because the quality and prices are unbeatable. The veggie pho is great because there are actually lots of different vegetables in it! i.e. not just tofu and a few pieces of one type of veggie. It has bok choy, broccoli and mushrooms as well as the tofu. We've also branched out from just getting the veggie pho over and over and tried other menu items. We've enjoyed the chicken and rare beef pho here and they also have great baguette sandwiches that are incredibly inexpensive. We'll usually get an order of 2 pho and 2 baguettes, eat the pho for dinner and save the sandwich for lunch the next day. The Vietnamese crepe is also amazing, very delicious. It's a bit hard to get the crepe to-go because it's a bit large for the box and very hot so it needs to steam/vent. It's a little messy to eat as you're cutting a piece of the crepe and wrapping it up in a giant lettuce leaf with basil and mint, and dipping it in sauce, but it's the most delectable messiness you've eaten in a while and worth the mess! Overall I love Pho Aroma and am happy to see that they look busy almost every time I go in or drive by the place. read more

By far the best vegetarian pho I have ever come across. Unlike most places, the broth is actually flavorful. They also cook your pho to order with lots of fresh veggies. Service here is also amazing. Short version: Great food, but busy. What I want from a pho place: great pho. They've got it. Not too salty like some; not flavorless like others. Just in the sweet spot. Service is fast (they need to turn over the tables). Prices are reasonable. It's nothing fancy (although they just remodeled, maybe it is now), just good Vietnamese food. The person with the one-star review because they wouldn't rearrange the restaurant at the spur of the moment for a group of "10-15" (how do you not know how many of you there were?) -- they're busy, it's hard to get tables at all sometimes, be glad they were willing to seat you all at multiple tables. My husband and I have been coming here for a few years now and I thought it was finally time to write them a review. We LOVE Pho Aroma. It's literally the first place we turn to when we 1) don't want to cook, 2) are feeling under the weather, 3) just returned from long travels 4) it's cold out and, 5) whenever we just want some yummy, authentic, fast and affordable food. Basically, we come in or get take out all the time! Everything we've tried on the menu is great and so is the service. I love pho so much, but too many pho restaurants have really unfortunate customer service. Not Pho Aroma. The people are always friendly, attentive, and my water glass is never empty! While the food is delicious, what really keeps me coming is the family that owns the restaurant. They're great people who really care about and get to know their customers, the fact that everything on their menu is amazing is an added bonus! read more

I'm so glad this place is close to home. It probably has the best Pho in Seattle by far. It is intimidating however. The place is littered with signs telling you variations of how to get your ass in line. Minimum dollar amounts on to-go orders, keep kids quiet etc. It's kind of soup-naziesque but that's ok by me. People have proven time and time again that they are unable to control their own children in a public setting. If the looming threat of being cut-off from the Pho train keeps people on the straight and narrow so be it. I did see a cute kid though go what appeared to be off menu and chomp down on a delicious looking plate of steamed rice and two fried eggs. I have been going to Pho Aroma at least every month since it opened. It is one of the only places in West Seattle that you can bring your kids to eat. That is until today...my three year and I arrived to have lunch with our friend and her three year old. There was a new sign on the door for parents and guardians. The sign was about other people in the restaurant, for the parents to control their kids to not disturb others. Ok. But then it goes further to imply that they have the right to refuse service if it doesn't happen. Our friends where already sitting at the table when we arrived, we began to have a conversation regarding the sign. Immediately when I read the sign I thought about the pressure parents feel when there kid has a moment. Having a 14 year old whom had problems in public places when he was a toddler, I understand. I don't disagree with the intention of the place, to provide a place that people can come in to eat and chill. Shoot that's what parents want as well, however the delivery of the message was really hard to take. Anyway, both three year old's had a moment of crying and screaming. The table behind us laughed (whether because they where uncomfortable or not)but I began to feel the pressure of quieting my kid because I was afraid that we where going to be kicked out. Needless to say we where told that if we didn't quiet them down we would have to leave. We left, I was really disappointed with the owner and his staff that they kicked us out. We weren't going to leave our children to cry and scream in the restaurant. If so, people can take that for a moment. They are three years old, why must we start teaching our children not only to conform to "normal society" but also to oppress our children into silence. It's no wonder that things remain the same even when they shouldn't. My advice for those who have children, don't take them to Pho Aroma because you will not be welcomed. For those who don't have children, you should really help advocate to treat all humans as fairly as possible. Although you may not have children, your pets have been treated the same way. read more

My daughter calls this place "the place with the best broth in the world." She LOVES pho and we eat it at least weekly. The food is really good, but the service is...i don't know...the service is good. People are nice. Food comes fast... I guess the reason for only 3 stars is that while they have a kids menu, they are borderline hostile to kids. There are signs all over warning parents to keep their kids in line or leave. Fine, I guess. As a restaurant patron, I can appreciate a quiet, pleasant environment...but, as the mother of a 5 year old who has been going to restaurants since infancy, I am a little offended. Also, even though we are regulars, we are usually relegated to the seat by the bathroom or the seat by the front door. We went one time when the restaurant had only one other couple, so my daughter asked if we could sit in the "fancy" seats with the upholstered backs. We were told they don't allow children to sit there because they get their feet on it. Huh? I don't let my daughter stick her feet on stuff...and since we go there regularly and tip more than 20% (it is a compulsion for me...) I was put off. Then they seated us by the bathroom again... I wish the food wasn't so good and it wasn't so close to our house...because we wouldn't go again. read more

The food is good, but I don't seem to have experienced the great service that others have written about. I used to live really close to this location, and when I went there with my two kids I got the impression that I wasn't wanted there. It is not a family friendly restaurant. The front door has caveats on it about being responsible for your children. I tried to order my child a dish, and the server questioned if I really wanted to order her her own meal. I wish he would have put the same attention into the order as he did my motivations, since the dish was too spicy to eat. I have since figured out how to cook my own pho, so I don't have to lament driving past there every time I have a pho craving. read more

Looking for Pho in West Seattle: Than Brothers was my first choice, only because they serve yummy little custardy filled cream puffs. There is no parking to be found in the junction on a Saturday afternoon so we ventured down to Delridge. Faced with a choice of grilled pork and egg rolls over noodle-y salad-y stuff, or Pho, I chose A so that I could get the requisite two tastes. Fair amount of grilled pork (not as good/much as Pho Cyclo), and a nicely fried egg roll. Nice sized portion and was able to finish the whole thing. Pretty good for an $8 lunch. Salad rolls were good and had a nice little fried surprise up the middle. I saw the guy rolling egg roll wrappers into little cylinders, which they deep fry and sneak in the middle of the salad roll to give it a little crunch. The peanut sauce was tasty and I poured it down the middle of the roll so I could get some in every bite and wouldn't be a double-dipper. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this place. I love good pho and it's relatively close to my house. They would have had a regular customer if their pho was good and they treated me with a modicum of decency. But I was treated so poorly that won't ever be going back. I stopped by one evening after work, and was seated quickly, but then ignored. When the man who seated me (not sure if he was a waiter or not) brought water and tea, I tried to tell him I was ready to order, but he didn't give me a chance, just rushed off. I saw him several times after that and each time he assiduously avoided looking at me. 5 minutes after I came in, a man came in and was seated by the same employee as had seated me. A few minutes after that a waitress came out, made a beeline for his table, and took his order!! I It would have been funny, it was soooo breathtakingly ultra-rude and unfair, but I was very hungry and resented wasting my time here. The restaurant was not busy. There was no reason I should have had to wait in the first place, and no excuse for taking someone's order who arrived so clearly after me. I had no kids with me, nor am a disabled with a service animal, as some other reviewers have listed as triggers for bad service here. Maybe there's some sexism here? They don't like to serve single female patrons? Bizarre. As I put on my coat and wound through the tables to leave, no employee apparently even noticed they were losing a customer. Unlike the inedible fatty rubber at other pho joints, Pho Aroma's beautifully done beef brisket is so tender that it literally melts in your mouth. The painstaking broth is authentically deep and flavorful (not in an MSG way) just as it should be. Generous portions and reasonable prices, quality is outstanding. I've only tried the chicken cabbage salad and it hit the spot, my friend recommended this spot to me and told me to try their banh mi's, but it's a lunch item and you have to ask if they have it available for dinner.
