Chinese donut, wonton noodle soup, beef and preserved egg congees
    Jason Y.

Smack in the middle of Chinatown, which means that parking is going to be terrible. Came here for a light lunch with some friends and it was pretty good. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, preserve egg with beef congee, chinese broccoli, and a Chinese donut. The congee was probably my favorite because of nostalgia growing up. Service was good. This place is CASH only. Porsches are kind of small for the price which is why took off a star. Would come back again for the congee

The food is good, don't give me wrong. I'm deducting a star for its value. A so-called large bowl for $16.50 of beel brisket and 3 wontons is definitely not worth that much. They only accept cash. So disappointed and could have eaten another bowl of food or a side. My kid liked it and he finished his big bowl easily. Yeah, I'm gonna need to find a new noodle place.

Mike's is a classic OG International District/Chinatown favorite! You can't go wrong ordering their noodle soups such as their Sui-Kau & Beef Brisket Noodle Soup (one of my favorites) or one of their congee dishes such as their Beef and Pickled Veggie Congee with a side of Chinese Donuts. Our server recommended their new menu item-- Scallion Fish Cakes-- so we ordered one and it tasted delicious. If you don't want soup, I highly recommend their Beef Brisket Noodle w/ Vegetable dish served dry with the broth on the side... YUMM!!! :-) CASH ONLY!!! So make sure you bring enough $ with you.

I only have the wonton noodle with octopus balls and wonton. Soup smell legit but taste wise is just ok. Noodle texture is important for HK style wonton noodle. The noodle was nothing special. At least it's not soggy. Wonton taste decent. Good flavor, I considered it's above average. We also ordered Gai lan and it was done perfectly. The congee looks great but I never taste any since I didn't order it. But it looks very 棉.

I had been wanting to try this spot for a very long time and it finally worked out as I went there after a Mariners game. It was a cold Mariners game and we were craving something warm and this was the perfect choice. We were seated immediately and before we could even say a word they brought us piping hot cups of tea that were steaming and that instantly warmed us up. For my order I got the brisket and wonton noodle soup which came with three large wontons that had both pork and shrimp. The broth was great and the dipping sauce, that you create yourself, paired perfectly with the noodle dish as it provided spiciness and acidity. I would definitely return to try the congee, what I ordered, or another noodle soup.

Ate lunch at Mike's Noodle House in the International District and tried the sui kaw soup along with the beef brisket noodle soup. The sui kaw--dumplings filled with shrimp--were generously sized and packed with flavor. This spot specializes in a variety of noodle soups, including wonton, beef brisket, fish ball, and squid ball, and they also offer side dishes and congee. The beef brisket was tender, and the broth was rich and full of depth. Overall, a satisfying meal with simple, comforting flavors. Just a heads-up: the restaurant is cash‑only. The service is pretty quick as well.

My ultimate comfort spot for over 20 years! I've been coming to this place for over two decades, back when a bowl of wonton noodle soup was just $5.50 (it's $15 now, but still worth every penny!). I remember the days when you'd see them sitting at the corner table, hand-folding wontons right in front of you. They've gotten so busy now that they do it in the back, and if you don't time your visit right, be prepared to wait in a long line. This is my absolute go-to combo on a chilly day, and honestly, the best hangover cure: Wonton Noodle Soup, Cod Fish Congee, Chinese Broccoli, and Chinese Donuts (Youtiao). You cannot skip the donuts--they are a must! My personal ritual is adding a splash of pink vinegar and chili paste into the congee, dipping the donut in, and taking a huge bite. It's pure comfort that warms you up from the inside out and instantly heals a tired soul. My husband prefers the beef wonton noodle soup because it's rich and hearty, but I love the classic, clean flavor of the plain wonton soup with its seafood-based broth. A quick heads-up: The service is typical for an authentic, bustling Chinese restaurant--don't expect fancy fine-dining treatment, but the staff is genuinely friendly and efficient. Also, **it's CASH ONLY**, so come prepared! Among the handful of restaurants I've stayed loyal to for 20+ years, this spot holds a very special place in my heart. Highly recommended!

Mike is hole in the wall restaurant with very traditional way of wonton noodles soup. The reason I said that is the way they prepare the broth of the soup. It is just like the Hong Kong people prepare it. We were here in the cold day which make the visit much appreciated. A hot bowl of soup noodle hot my spot. We got the traditional wonton noodles soup. The soup base is excellent. For Hong Kong style, the noodles are very thin. We also got a pig organ congee. This also very cold weather food. Food definitely 5 stars. Definitely revisiting.

Hearty meal in a cozy small restaurant! There were maybe 10 tables max but it was empty when we went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. The food came out hot and was delicious. The wonton and dumpling noodle soup was great, highly recommend that to anyone who comes here. we also had their Chinese new year special and it was good with the dipping sauce, not enough to where I'll get it again though. I would've liked the see the price on it too.. they mentioned that we should try it so we did and it turns out the dish was $20 lol maybe we should've asked but that probably would've seemed frugal

Service was fast, and the food came out quickly. The inside has several tables but feels a bit cramped. We ordered the rock cod noodle, beef brisket noodle, wonton soup, and pork liver and kidney. The liver and kidney were cooked perfectly -- chewy and soft, not tough or dry. The thin, chewy noodles paired so well with the rich brisket sauce, and the shrimp-filled wontons were delicious. The beef brisket noodle was definitely my favorite!

The wonton noodle soup here was pretty good. It had a flavorful, hearty broth and the wontons were delicious. We tried their new special fish balls which were pretty good but not worth 18 dollars imo. Service was quick and friendly! Only thing is, we ordered small wonton noodles soups, but they charged for a large. We don't know if they had brought us a large noodle soup or just overcharged us.

After years of hearing good things about this place, I thought I'd give it a try. Upon entering, the restaurant was packed, but a couple of tables opened up, so we were seated right away. We were given hot tea and menus. While skimming through the menu, I decided on what I wanted, but I was curious about the portion sizes and the quantity of the Chinese donuts. When our server came over, she didn't greet us with a smile; she actually looked extremely annoyed. I asked her how much bigger the regular portion was compared to the small, since it looked like everyone had the same-sized bowl. She replied with an attitude, saying that the regular has one pack of noodles and the large has two. I then asked her how many donut pieces come with one order, and she just said, "What?" before adding, "You can just order one." My questions were simple, so I don't understand why she responded so rudely. When she came back with our food, it looked delicious, but it was a bit too salty for my liking. After this whole experience, I would not come back. That server made me feel like a nuisance, and honestly, it's better to spend your money at a business that appreciates your time and money. Also, this place is cash only.

Service is quick and straightforward. We ordered the pineapple bun with butter, mixed steak plate with black pepper sauce, and spare rib and chinese sausage clay pot. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mixed steak plate - it came with a pork steak and beef steak, steamed rice, and steamed veggies. The meat was fine but the real winner was the savory sauce! The clay pots take 20-30 minutes to cook which they tell you ahead of time, so be aware my boyfriend was about done with his food when the clay pot came out. This was a delicious classic dish reminiscent of the clay pots back in Hong Kong! I poured in a ton of sauce and it really gets absorbed into the hot rice and meat. This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge.
