Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back. read more

The 14yo ordered beef brisket noodle soup. He said it was delicious, but too spicy after he added too much chili oil. The wife scoffed at the idea that there's such a thing as too much chili oil and ate some of his soup. This was after she dug into her hot pot. I did get a chance to sample the delicate pork pieces and the flavorful rice. The slightly crispy rice at the bottom of the pot were so delicious. I had the Singapore style fried noodles. Really tasty. The noodles had so many flavors from the vegetables to the meats (shrimp, chicken meat & egg, and pork) and the sauce. Wow this food was EXCELLENT. We were strolling in the area in an attempt to find some dim sum, however it was later in the afternoon so most places at stopped selling dim sum. Came here after a Mariners game around 4:45pm on a Wednesday. It was a bit of a walk but we came here because of our search on Yelp and the mister wanted clay pot. We got here, which is pretty much at the end of Chinatown, and looked inside and saw no one there. We were going to look for another restaurant but decided to go in anyway. We walked in and there was a guy who didn't acknowledge us and seemed annoyed actually that we were there. He finally just told us to find a table. There was one guy working the kitchen and one gal working the front. Anyway, we finally ordered our food around 5pm and the food came out 30+ mins later. First was my kids sesame chicken, which was definitely Americanized but we expected that. Then came my husband's pork rib clay pot and then my brisket and tendon noodle soup. The clay pot rice of preserved meat was good. Hot and crispy rice when you open the clay pot and dig into the bottom. I wishes this place had their own homemade soy sauce for their clay pots. This is a vegetarian review. The portions for this place are fantastic. We're talking about a full box of noodles and tofu for about $20. I would say that's good given today's rates in Seattle. Our favourites are vegetable friend noodles, vegetable fried tofu, and kung pao tofu. We usually do takeout and not dine-in just due to convenience. We placed order at the restaurant and it took more than 30 minutes to prepare the food even though only one other couple in the restaurant. When we opened the containers, all of the food was really disappointing. Vegetables were way overcooked. Beef chow fun noodles were all clumped together into a big lump. Maybe they didn't care about the quality because it was takeout. If this was eaten at the rest, I certainly would have walked out without a tip. read more

We ordered a congee, preserved meat clay pot rice, Singapore stir-fry vermicelli, and the salt & pepper fried fish.
