    Fresh Summer Rolls

My wife and I are Vietnamese food connoisseurs, having been to Vietnam, we'd like to think our palette is well rounded We love trying local Vietnamese spots and this one just opened! This spot is owned by a local Orlando couple, whom are very welcoming. Our experience began with calling in asking about needing a reservation, Ava was very professional, spoke clearly and calmly. I add this is in because often times restaurant hostesses speak so fast you can't understand them. Our server was a great young man that was very upbeat and attentive. Ok... the food is what we came for.... And it's what we WILL be coming back for. House special Pho was fantastic, the broth was flavorful and had layers of flavors. Honestly just as good as the best pho we've had in Vietnam! The fresh rolls with peanut sauce were amazing! The crispy wings come in various order sizes, 4, 8, 12 and 20. 3 sauces to choose from, we went with Honey Garlic, the wings were SUPER crispy and not greasy at all. Overall 10/10 experience. The food is authentic. The owners are locals. The pho recipe is from a legacy Vietnamese family members grandmother. My wife and I are overjoyed that we have an authentic pho spot stateside! Must try for an authentic Vietnamese food experience!

Pho Bar Sandlake opened this past weekend and I've already been twice. The short rib pho is so rich and decadent. The staff is also extremely welcoming.

The decor is impeccable. I started with the bread service. Delicious and warm with the softest and light butter you can imagine to smear. Next I had grilled oysters. They were small, but mighty in delicious flavor. Next I had the strawberry, watermelon and feta salad. The flavors exploded in my mouth... yummy. Our server, Maria, then brought me a taste of the Caesar salad and it too was outstanding. They prepare it freshly table-side and I love that they had anchovies . They have weekly chef specials and we had the lobster Thermidor. Large, fresh and absolutely decadent. Every bite was packed with flavor. I paired it with the brussel sprouts and again a 10/10... simply wonderful. They have an amazing and extensive wine selection of course. They also have a full bar to prepare whatever delights you. The chef also came out to visit us and I appreciates the dedication to curating a fantastic experience. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the fountain. From the service to the food, everything about this dining experience was magnificent and perfect!!! I highly recommend and will definitely return.

I was sexy in every way, from the decor to the glassware, to the cigar corner. Every inch of the place was a vibe. Go see Manny, the bartender. His service was unmatched. He made me a Coconut Passionfruit Margarita with a Tajin rim. When I tell you that's THE BEST margarita I've ever had, I mean it. The waitress took one of our party's order wrong and he personally came over, made it right, and was our best friend the rest of the night. We got a yummy charcuterie board to soak up some of the alcohol. Highly recommend that too. The last thing I'll say is that even though we missed the live music, they were still playing the artist's music over the speakers. It's great to see them continue to support local talent because I immediately looked up the person and downloaded their music all because the establishment didn't stop supporting him after he stopped singing. It shows how deep they want to grow roots in the community. Love it and I'm absolutely going back.

Looking at the menu I was bit surprised they did not have more signature drinks on the menu, mainly mojitos, but then realized this is a Latin speakeasy, with music playing to match. Once I had my coconut mojito I was very pleased. They really do know how to make them. They also have a full bar so anything you want they can make, The bartender and servers were super nice and friendly, and they worked quick to get all drinks out. They also had some food, that looked delicious, and hope I get the chance to come back to try some. After seating in the lounge/ speakeasy area for a while, we moved to the bar for a last drink. The bartender said Espresso Martinis were her specialty so we order those. She was not lying, one of the best we've had.

Sunday brunch is a busy time for them so plan accordingly if going then. And I highly recommend a reservation. Ok, first the toffee cake. It's like a monkey bread but better. So delicious but super decadent and sweet so a good coffee or brunch cocktail is helpful. The cheese board was also amazing. Made in house, it's a good appetizer to prepare for the rest of the meal. The carrot cake pancakes were INSANE!!! I love a carrot cake and these were that but for breakfast. It's a big portion so good to share or get as your main. The breakfast pizza was also so good. Spicy and filling. The eggs can also be prepared anyway you choose. Major hit with my crew. 10/10 definitely recommend. Can't wait to go back!

I don't understand the hate this place gets online from Orlando locals. We're new to the Orlando…read morearea and have had this on our list of must try spots for some time now. I know there are a few locations but we planned to stop at this location specifically during a last min birthday staycation (but not *on* my brthday) If you look online this routinly is on lists of date night and good group dining spots and there will inevitably be a ton of people in the comments complaining about it being "mid" or "basic" but that wasn't our experience at all. We had a great experience here. We initially booked for the first time of our staycation but called last min to push back a few days as I wasn't feeling very well. It was no issue at all and they changed our reservation without issue or complaints & wished me well. The space is really cool. MCM in design with a touch of California beach bungalow. We were seated in a back room with a view of the lake behind. It was a bit loud but most places are these days. I am deaf in one of my ears so one I told our server & she spoke up over the noise and it was a non-issue. Appreciated because that's not always the case. We ordered a glass of wine and the "Shirley After Dark" cocktail (I know it's a wine bar but I just felt like a cocktail) loved it. Would absolutely order it again. We ordered the house salad which was far from basic and delicious and fresh. Very light and decent size. My husband also aired the Cauliflower app which was massive. The hummus was delicious. I'm not a fan of cauliflower but he raved about it. We also split the Butchers Pizza and had them out the hot honey on the side. I can't do spice after destroying my stomach in college so they brought me a side of normal honey so I could hector full flavor profile within my dietary needs. We got to speaking with our server whose name I unfortunately can't remember (light blonde shoulder length hair if management reads this) & she was very knowledgeable about the wine selection. We're not white wine drinkers but the FL heat is a little too much for a glass of red most days so we're trying to get into it. She had 3 recommendations and brought me all three to taste. Unfortunatly I enjoyed was sold out by the time we ordered it (which at the height of tourist summer isn't beyond the realm of reasonability) We then ordered the affogato and olive oil cake. Both were delicious. It was my husband's first time trying an affogato and it has since become a favorite of his. It was mentioned in passing while chatting that we were in a last min staycation as it was my birthday week and we didn't plan anything in advance and made it clear it was not my birthday but she still comped my cocktail and the olive oil cake and wrote a lighthearted "sorry we were out of the wine" on our receipt. Which was a genuinely nice & unexpected gesture. The entire meal was quite affordable even before anything got comped compared with other options of the same caliber in the area. Portons are quite large as well. While I don't love communal tables typically, almost no one was seated at the same table and if they were it was quite far apart (see photos). I can see that being bothersome on a busy night but we were there on a summer night (busy enough to run out of a wine) so I can't imagine it being typically worse than that So I say again, I don't understand what people don't like about this place. We'll be back.
