I have come here for a while but lately have felt very disrespected by the staff. The last time I went in the waitress asked me what I was going to tip before she even ran my card which is not ok. I was hoping that it was a one-time thing. I visited yesterday and there was a young male waiter that was actually great but when it came to getting the bill another lady brought my check and tried to show me that I need a tip which I found incredibly rude. I always tip and am in the service industry I also let her know that and she didn't care. So I tipped 1.00 under the 18% cause I was just so turned off by her service. Never coming back to this restaurant again. This used to be one of the pho restaurants we visit regularly. However, the quality of the food has decreased significantly and they force you to pay 18% tip. Not sure if it happened to everyone else who dined in recently, but I was forced to pay 18% tip (after tax) by the waitress who claimed they only get paid this way. I initially gave a 15% tip (after tax) because all she did was taking my order and bringing the food out. She did not come to check on the table nor refill the water. We recently tried this pho restaurant and found the food to be average, nothing exceptional. However, the service was disappointing. What bothered me the most was their pushy behavior regarding tipping. Even though we already gave them up to 18%, For lunch! they asked customers to tip more. we still give them extra dollars since they ask for it. I ordered the "caramel custard" with my uber eats pho order tonight and this is how it looked when I flipped it out after already taking a few bites. I was wary of the dark blackish color so I called to ask the restaurant about it. The man who answered the phone said it was normal and that it is the "cinnamon in the new sauce" that makes it dark. It was impossible to show him via a phone call so I just trusted him and ate the whole thing. It didn't taste off, not actually a strong cinnamon flavor at all, if any, and the color didn't seem to scrape off like you might think mold would. Never ate inside and the reason why I come because for the value, but not anymore. I ordered 3 pho bowls and literally 2nd or 3rd time they don't close the damn lid all the way. All the soup spilled all over the bag and on a rainy day only because it's busy inside and that they don't attend to the repeat customer that always come. Had a pretty bad experience at Pho Best in Elmhurst...got demanded to pay 18% tips on top of 3% credit card transaction fee. What we put down was merely 50 cents short and the restaurant manager dared to say something along the line of all the white people pay 20+% tips. If you're wondering which pho place to go to... go to the other ones: Pho Bac or Pho Bang. We have been coming here since it first opened when the pho was about ~$8 and now it's more like $11-13 for the same portions and must I say lower quality. The same goes for their spring rolls. Every time we come and the place is at least half full, the servers consistently look frazzled and unorganized. We came midweek for lunch and were not seated or even greeted by any of their servers until a line built behind us and we had to flag them for attention despite them passing us multiple times while we stood at the entrance. We then sat at the back where we previously had a bad dining experience cause they never checked on us so this time we ordered our usual right away. Food was ok and when we were ready to pack our leftovers to go, a waiter came to 'check in' on us but was really already handing us our check. We asked for to go containers and had to wait for some time all the while the other servers came to our table to check if we had already paid our bill. When we paid our bill, we tipped the lowest suggested amount on the bill and, as we were leaving, another server (who neither sat us, took our order or handed us our bill) asked for an extra few dollars because the tip was too low. I have never been asked to tip more for mediocre service especially from someone who hasn't even served us during our meal. I love this spot. I usually order their beef brisket pho and BBQ pork Rice Vermicelli. The prices are very fair, especially since the portions are always generous/huge. The staff are always friendly. They can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English. I've been here many times during this pandemic and nothing has changed, my food is always neatly and strategically packed Food still taste amazing after I get home. This is the best pho place I have been to in whole of New York, I cannot get over the place ever since my girlfriend brought me here last month and ever since we have been coming here at Keats once a week or twice and even thrice sometimes lol The place is nice and very clean and they follow all the COVID 19 precautions and social distancing. There's a cute outdoor dining place and the place isn't placed usually. I always order the B3 fresh ribeye which is my favorite and the spring rolls as it is very flavorful and delicious, the meat is cooked perfectly just the way I like them. They service is quite fast and the staff is very accommodating and nice. The place is not expensive as one bowl of pho costs $8.95 and a dollar more for a larger bowl which is a lot of portion, a meal in here usually sets us back about $25 which is very reasonable for the portion of food and is more than enough. Sometimes we order one large bowl of pho depending on how hungry my girlfriend is and that's enough. I don't know why there are negative reviews in here but my experience here so far has been absolutely wonderful and the food has been flawlessly delicious. read more

This is a zero star review. Their food is mediocre at best, especially the Pho was tasteless compared to Bang a block away. They will shamelessly chase after you to pay at least 18% tips based on the bill AFTER tax (we put down close to 19% of the bill before tax). It was ridiculous because we were like 50 cents short of what their suggested 18% was. You will have to pay 3% transactions fee if you pay with a credit card, which is not stated on their menus. The restaurant owner also made some pretty insulting comments like other customers would pay 20%+ tips as if it's required. Not sure why this place has a low rating! Pho with the huge bone marrow (for only $3 extra!) was tasty, spring rolls were super crispy, service was great and the food came out really fast. The name of this place is missing a few words. If you asked me, it should be re-named be Pho Best Not Go! I recall we had gone there a few weeks after their opening, and realizing it was still quite early, I wasn't going to be a diva about lackluster service, but knowing how busy it was, they were completely under-staffed, and service was just too slow, like molasses or worse (I don't know a better metaphor, but just imagine, ok)! The pho broth was on the greasy side, and my hubs did not find it comparable to other Vietnamese pho bowls he's eaten, and trust me, the boy likes his pho! I don't really remember what I had, except on the bright side, the complimentary spring rolls were tasty, though oily. Overall, the experience was such a mess, that the mediocre food was in no way going to illicit any warm feelings from me, nor would it bring us back for a second visit. (I remember I had asked for a small bowl of rice and one rude server not only forgot my request, but then looked at me like I was asking her to fetch me a bowl of rice from Mars. I waited an inordinate amount of time for it, and that was inexcusable.) The Pho Best chain is my #1 go-to and I've been to each of the restaurants more times than I can count. I usually hit up the one in Flushing BUT I decided to leave my review on this one in Elmhurst to help boost their rating because they've got the best customer service out of all three. First, they'll literally speak whatever language you want them to speak. They spoke to me in English at first (which yes, is my native language but I prefer speaking in my mother tongue when out eating for a more comfortable and informal experience) and then we switched to Cantonese. One of my friends spoke Mandarin and another spoke to the waitress in Fuzhounese. I believe the boss also speaks Chinese and Vietnamese. I love their beef bone marrow pho. I have it nearly every week (usually in the Flushing location) but the experience I got here was my favorite. This was back in February, and we were the last customers in the restaurant, the staff jokes around with us and we literally had a long day that day and it was so nice to enjoy some comfort food and be able to laugh and relieve some stress. Sometimes it's not all about the food. It's about the people as well. But because I was biased in reviewing only this restaurant based on one single experience, I'm going to do a more well-rounded analysis review below: Would I recommend? Yes 1000% Would I come back? Definitely. The second the pandemic is over. Best food: Pho Best Prince St Flushing Best Service: This one, Broadway Elmhurst. I was waiting a long time for Pho Best in Elmhurst to open up and when it did, I saw a storm of really bad reviews. Some were really true and some weren't during our experience at Pho Best. It was a hit or miss experience during the first month of grand opening. Our first visit was probably during their second week, the pho came out just fine but the service was incredibly slow. A few times after that, the portions were always off. I often had very few noodles or very few slices of beef and tendon. It was never consistent. And as of late, the pho has gotten better but temperature of the soup seems a little too cold, room temperature. I prefer the broth nice and hot so that it could thoroughly cook the sprouts. I have 2 issues with Pho Best. 1. The temperature of the broth 2. No egg noodles option (yellow noodles). Most people don't even know other pho spots even offer egg noodles as a substitute. I prefer egg noodles over rice noodles any day of the week. There's more texture to it. The rice noodles over time just taste like mush to me. Verdict - Top 3 pho spots in the area in no particular order, Pho Best, Pho Bac, Thai Son. When it comes to portion, Pho Best beats them. When it comes to quality I would side with Pho Bac just a little bit. Thai Son in my book has really dropped off the map since Pho Best opened. They have the worse spring rolls on Earth. They're super small and shriveled up. Pho Bac has decent spring rolls, as do Pho Best. In terms of service, Pho Bac and Thai Son have better service than Pho Best, PLUS they offer egg noodles as a substitute. At Pho Best, if you ask if they have egg noodles, they don't have a clue what you're talking about. The waiter even told me that's a Cantonese thing. Whether if that's true or not, at least other joints offer something I like instead of not having it at all. read more

Tips should be use pretax amount to calculate. This store is totally scam and rude. On their receipt they use after tax amount to calculate their tip and when I pay the right tip which is pre tax amount x 15% the waitress said to be " its only xx dollar?" VERY rude. The fact that no one ask you about your party size or direct you to a table is a clear indication of bad services. There were people, including myself, waited for more than 10 minutes until one of the waiter finally brought us to a table. I sat down and quickly went over the menu and got #1 with beef bone marrow. During the promotion, as a new restaurant, they offered free shrimp spring roll. The fried spring rolls were covered in extra oil, dripping on to the lettuce in a basket like wooden plate. I understand oil is expensive but we really weren't that greedy. Then came the most important part of the meal, the pho. It was carried out in a wooden tray with a spoon on top of a small bowl, use for the sauce. Everything looked great until I found myself fishing for the noodle and got a chunk of noodle stuck together, unable to break apart. Then I found an unbelievable portrait of myself reflecting off of the soup, from the extra extra extra fat thinly slice beef and the bone marrow. Overall, I wasted more than I ate. read more

I don't usually give review, especially the negative ones. But this experience was so bad that I had to wipe out my phone and type this. Just save your self and have something else. The service was not great but manageable, but the main problem is the food and hygiene. The noodle are served on a wooden drawers n mine had hot sauce and soups all over it with my spoon covered in meat residual foam. To the food, soup was good with the first two sip and then you started tasting all the oils that's floating on top, noodle was mushed in to a ball and saggy in texture (I think the noodle is in ball shape just sits in a bin till serving). The meat they call ribeye are all Chinese fatty beef that you find in a grocery store for hot pot till a point it's 80% fat. What's worse was that I order a beef pho I had a lobster brain/roe in my soup. At that point I just stopped eating and ask for the check. Just do your self a favor and find a better place. read more

I ordered the pho with grilled chicken. it was a large portion of chicken and well seasoned. I enjoyed it a lot.
