Signature Pho (招牌牛肉河粉 / Phở Xe Lửa): $18; $19.60 with tax. Before broth is applied. Terrible. Avoid.

BLUF: Low-quality, meager ingredients; poor execution. Go elsewhere. Our first visit to Pho Vital, located in Long Island City Food Hall, was likely our last visit. We ordered: - Signature Pho (招牌牛肉河粉 / Phở Xe Lửa): $18; $19.60 with tax. The price was above average (though perhaps on par with the neighborhood), but yuck. The soup had a weird flavor and odor, and seemed heavily dosed with MSG. The beef slices seemed to be from low-quality cuts and were small, tough, and rubbery. None of the ingredients seemed fresh. - Grilled Beef Bánh Mì 烤牛肉麵包: $12; $13.07 with tax. The meat cuts were meager and seemed to be of low quality. The cucumber wasn't fresh. The sandwich was helped by the liver pâté, but overall, this sandwich is not worth getting. Service was polite. The staff person explained that everything is packaged for take-out; there isn't a separate packaging option for dine-in. LIC Food Hall provides seating and well-maintained restrooms.

I don't usually give out a 1 star, but unfortunately this place was that bad. I tried dozens of different places for banh mi. So I had to try one of the beef sandwiches here too. First time I've seen some random cold cut deli meat/ sausage? thrown in there... along with what looked pre-cooked frozen meat with grill marks on it. After one bite, I couldn't eat any more. Unfortunately the pho wasn't any better. I guess, what can I expect, coming out of a food court. The thin sliced meats on top had this weird orangey color. What meat is orange?! I was afraid to eat it. The broth had a highly unappetizing smell to it. Something I've never come across, having tried so many dozens of different Vietnamese places. Smell was so bad, I couldn't get myself to try it. Went right down the drain. Service. Super nice. Five stars for them. Not much ambiance. It's one of the first stalls in the new LIC food hall. More seating downstairs, along with bathrooms.

That the Pork Chop Just Not My Picture !!!

Ok my fellow YELPERS !!! As you know I never throw out a 5 Star rating however this Pho Vital Vietnam House Just hit the wow incredible factor !!! This 5 star rating is totally based on the one dish that I just Inhaled 10 minutes ago on this Friday 9/19/25 at 5:30pm... Their Grilled pork chops; Bun Suon Nuong sliced grilled 1/4 inch Pork Chops on the bone Grilled Perfectly & seasoned with like a Soy Grass mint ginger marinade if ya asked but they say its a pickled daikon and carrot along with a fish sauce dressing and fried shallots, and peanuts, A Must Try and to die for !!! Really !!! served with vermicelli just an unbelievable meal well balanced flavorful & trust me ya gonna want more !! $15 or $16 bucks well worth it !! Now this lil restaurant is located in a food hall along with another 10 food & deserts spots amazing idea & concept something for everyone but mostly Asian varieties.... This food hall was located in one of the beautiful new high-rise buildings on 42nd road; all these little food spots are set up for fast takeout it's a beautiful set up; they don't have seating for each restaurant, but they say they're seating downstairs for all the little shops set up like a cafeteria style; you definitely know there is no parking so you have to have somebody waiting in the car while you go pick up your orders and or have them delivered.. I didn't get to take a picture of my plate, but I'm gonna go back there in the next day or two that's how good it was. I took one bite of this pork chop and the two nice size pork chops that they give you were gone in 30 seconds . I even chewed around the bone and sucked the bone. That's how good they were their marinade their putting on these pork chops is on point and I'd love to learn what they're using and or how to make it !!! Highly recommend this place, especially if you like grilled pork chops the vermicelli was also delicious with their marinade on that as well and the service was also very friendly and I don't speak the language. She explained everything what was in the dish very nicely and friendly. They even gave me a free gift which they're giving out to their customers at the moment. It's a nice long spoon sort of like a mini ladle as a thank you and a gift... can't wait to go back and explore that menu a little more again. Apologies for not taking a picture but oh my God super delicious !! Thanks, Greg D & Family

    Pho Regular

Grand opening was on 8/16 inside the LIC Food Hall. This vendor is closer to the middle front of the food hall near the staircase. Seatings are downstairs. They had samples of their Vietnamese coffee out for tastings. I ordered the Pho Regular. It is packed well for take-out. The soup is in a separate container and the noodles and beef slices are in a bowl container. The soup is on the milder side, like home-made. Not too salty either. The description says the broth is slow simmered for hours. The beef slices are raw and are cooked when you pour the hot soup into the container with noodles. The beef is slightly tough though and doesn't have much flavor. Also, the menu description says Regular comes with raw beef, tripe, tendon, meatballs, but it only came with raw beef slices. It was okay though because it was quite a few slices of beef and I was so full. The pho order included a canned soda. Not sure if it's just a limited time promo for grand opening. They do have other drinks available also.

The pho broth tastes fresh and flavorful, not too salty, and you can tell it's made with care. The grilled pork chop rice was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Portions were generous, service was friendly, and the location inside LIC Food Hall is super convenient. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Long Island City. Highly recommend!

Coconut coffee and ginger apple tea

When I visited the LIC food hall recently, I decided to give this spot a try. While I didn't try their food, I did grab a couple drinks from here and I LOVED both of them. I got their coconut coffee and their seasonal ginger apple tea. Both were so delicious and seriously debated buying another one of each as I left. Would love to return to try their food.

    Spicy beef noodle

Randomly find this pho spot in an LIC food court and now I keep coming back, especially for the spicy beef noodle soup, which is easily my favorite. The broth is rich, flavorful, and has just the right kick with that addictive lemongrass heat. Portions are solid, service is quick, and it's perfect for a casual, comforting meal. Definitely a go-to if you're craving something warm and tasty in LIC.

Stopped by Pho Vital and was pleasantly surprised. The broth tasted clean and not greasy, which I really liked. The noodles and beef were fresh, and everything came together nicely. Quick service too, great for an easy meal, definitely I would come back!

Spring rolls - these were amazing. Scrumptious and plumpy. Every bite was fulfilling. Oxtail pho - oxtail was good, but to me the broth felt a little underwhelming. Noodles were soggy. Bun rieu - the toppings that came with it was great. Broth is good. Noodles were great. Refreshing with the tomatoes tbh. Bon Bo Hue - winner of my night. Great toppings, great broth, and great noodles. Shrimp paste on point. Highly recc.

I was pleasantly surprised to see sugarcane shrimp on the menu. I rarely see this appetizer at popular Vietnamese restaurants in Dallas. We liked it a lot. The shrimp paste wrapped around the sugarcane stick was nicely grilled and flavorful. Don't discard the stick. Chew on it a bit to get the sweet juice out. We ordered a few entrees: beef noodle soup, bún bò huế, grilled pork chop rice, and chicken dry noodles. Everything was delicious! The broth of bún bò huế was savory and mildly spicy with a delicate taste of shrimp paste. The beef noodle soup was delicious also. The beef was nice and tender. And the portion size was generous. We also enjoyed the chicken rice noodles and the nicely charred pork chop, garnished with toasty fried shallots and peanuts. The place is beautifully decorated with a delightful ethnic touch. I particulary like the elegant decor of the wine bar. If you like adult beverages, I highly recommend taking a seat there. We enjoyed the overall dining experience, and would come back the next time in the area.

You have to go in person to join the waitlist, and the staff will not seat you unless your full party is there. It is always fun going on the weekend because they have specialty menu items. The food is consistently tasty and served very quickly. A few highlights include: - Banh Chung | Crispy Rice Cake: A solid starter to share among two to four people. The texture is chewy with a light crispiness on the outside. There is also a vegetarian option. - Vegetarian Curry: A savory yellow curry made with a coconut milk base. Really appreciate the variety of seasonal vegetables included. - Bun Ca Hai Phong | Fried Fish and Tomato Noodle Soup: Highly recommend getting this during the weekend! A nice alternative to the typical meat-based dishes. The tilapia is lightly fried, so the tomato broth does not become overly heavy, and the dill helps cut through any extra oil to balance out the flavors. - The beef noodle soups are also very good, but are more classic options. The rice platters are great to share since the portions are generously sized. The staff are always friendly and helpful throughout the meal. Service is very fast, especially considering the restaurant has always been full.

The inside was cute and cozy - a true mom and pop shop. When we left, the whole family showed up and was eating together which was super cute. For the food, I would say skip the pho - it was okay. But the bun thit nuong was pretty good!! The fish sauce was a little on the sweeter side but with the egg rolls, the noodles, and the grilled pork, it was so fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite Viet dishes and it didn't disappoint. The viet iced coffee was also pretty good for New York! I want to come back to try their banh mí!

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!
