Who wants a warm bowl of pho during a hot day? Me! And Pho Bowl is a great place to check out. I've done dine in and take out. Both are fast casual and there's ample dishes to try. The reason why I sought after Pho Bowl was because they were one of the only places that served tendon (my fave!!). The first time we dined in and it was really good. Second time I did take out and it was somehow even better. Very worth it. The ingredients were packed beautifully, fresh, and the raw steak even came packed separately in plastic wrap. Unfortunately, this place dropped the ball on service when I specifically asked for no cilantro, I tried to eat around it but there was still so much that it really made my bowl terrible since I have the soap gene. We were in the area and hubby was craving pho so we popped in here. Small little restaurant with 10 tables in plaza with LA Fitness. It was empty when we arrived but got busier as we got closer to dinner time. Hubby ordered Vietnamese coffee, shrimp spring roll and the brisket, meatball, & tendon pho. The coffee was rich, crazy, and delicious without being overly sweet. The spring roll had decent size shrimp pieces in it and was what you hope for when ordering spring rolls (especially with the peanut dipping sauce). The pho hit the spot. Excellent flavor on the broth. The noodles took a bit to come apart but they were good once they soaked in the broth. The meat was all cooked well and packed with flavor. He said he's sufficiently full and happy. I got the vegetarian spring roll and the vermicelli bowl with tofu. The bowl looked like it might be boring without any sauce with all the ingredients separated, but once I tossed it all together and drizzled the soy sauce on top it came to life. The tofu was perfectly cooked and tasty, and the combo of textures in the dish from the soft noodles to the crisp veggies gave it a great mouth feel. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal for sure. Service was perfect Chicken pho was very oily. I could see the oil floating around the bowl When I received the check, it said " Card tips don't go to us, please pay cash" When I asked what that meant, they said the tips go to the owner That is by far the most disgusting thing I've heard as well as disturbing. Pho dac biet was "a solid 4" said my eating buddy, with lots of tendons,even though no tripes, and at a great price! I had the "grilled" chicken bun (noodles), and this was just ok(3 out of 5 stars) since the chicken didn't have the grilled flavor that I was looking for, tasted more like sautéed. PHO BOWL LAVEEN! You can't go wrong with their rice dishes! My favorite is their grilled beef with rice and veggies. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is really mild which I love. I've ordered from them many times and they have been consistent with their dishes. Their competitor Pho Laveen is the other place I order from. Vietnamese food in Laveen is so good and worth it! Love this mom and pop restaurant . This place is one of the few non fast food or chain restaurants in in the area. Also, one of my favorite lunch spots when time allows. Never have tried the pho because I have only been here during lunch but their other meals are so good. My favorite has been the house fried rice. You get a generous portion for a big serving. Their Vietnamese coffee is also very good. Food is also out right away which is helpful when you have a short lunch. Can't wait to try their other dishes. read more

Thought we'd give this local place a chance, but honestly it wasn't great. Service was slow even though they only had 3 tables (when we arrived we were the only table), and we ended up having to go to the counter and ask for our check after waiting over 20 minutes for someone to come around. Food was not worth the cost- all dishes were flavorless and lacked substantial vegetables/protein. We left feeling very unsatisfied and will not be back. Brand new spot to the area, 2nd location for the owner, and close to the freeway! Were there a couple of bumps in the beginning? Of course! Because they've been open for less than a week and they need a few more people. However, those bumps did not take away from the overall experience and taste of the food. Our table ordered two #9's one with shrimp, kids shared the chicken fried rice & I tried their Thai Tea Boba. We received our food HOT and had all the Fixings readily available! The broth was flavorful and the rice had a nice chicken & veggie to rice ratio. I enjoyed the Thai Tea, the boba not so much but my tastebuds may have been all over the place. Sure, different regions of Vietnam, home style influence and the makeup of the recipes will have a major effect, but so does our very subjective human taste buds. Having tried almost all Pho styles available, my faves are Pho Tai and Pho Tai Nam. Usually, these servings are how I compare each establishment recipes, plus the amenities served to accompany each bowl like, cilantro, sprouts, limes, jalapeño peppers. Pho Bowl comes up as consistent, pretty good. Although the broth is not the strong traditional expectation, it is aromatic, well blended and comes up tasty. The location in the traditional way is very sparse, but comfortable, service is exceptionally accommodating, and you are heartily welcomed in. Overall, this is a most returnable Pho joint. The workers were kind, and speedy, but I was not a huge fan of the pho (it's probably my least favorite I've had in the valley. Based on other reviews, it sounds like the flavors vary in intensity depending on the day, so it may have just been an off-day!
