I'm not totally sure why I chose this Vietnamese restaurant to try - it seems like there are a lot of highly rated Vietnamese restaurants in this area. But somehow I had saved this one to my map so I came here with a couple friends for dinner last week. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered spring rolls, crispy chicken dumplings and a "dragon egg" boba tea "smoothie." Though it was on their menu under "Smoothies" it was not a smoothie at all. It was an icee. That said, it was still delicious and I loved the fresh and fruity boba balls. The flavor was more lychee than strawberry, but I didn't mind. My friends got an appetizer plate and 5-spice chicken. Both enjoyed their food very much. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but does have sit-down service. Very chill vibes, and prices were fair. The place was clean, staff was attentive, and the peanut sauce that came with my spring rolls wasn't spicy, which I appreciated! What I got: Lucky Buddha beer P1 Combination pho Fried Spring rolls Very fast paced energy in here they really want you to sit down and eat and get out. I wanted to just chill and take my time to eat, but the server never came back again for me to order another drink so I decided I should just get out then since they didn't want me there long it seemed let's start off with the food review tho my spring rolls tasted off like there was something a bit funky with them, as well as how to frozen texture on the inside and I was given the smallest amount of fish sauce I've ever seen every other place. I've been to is a huge amount or like a generous amount of that sauce dividend but I got like barely anything so I was like trying to scoop it at the end, but yeah, definitely funky tasting rolls. The pho itself consisted mostly of noodles and a decent amount of meat at least but with the combination, I felt like the tendon they just gave the biggest chunks possible, which were extremely hard to try to bite through unusual for me to come across I love tripe and tendon the most in the combos, the regular size is generously sized tho no need to pay extra for a larger size unless you're really hungry the flavor of the broth tasted good nothing special but it was a alright meal prob won't come back but I don't think it was entirely a waste of time read more

Song Lynn Asian Cuisine is one of those small, humble spots that proves you don't need anything flashy to serve up really solid food. This place stays packed, which is always a good sign--and it definitely delivered. I went with the tofu veggie pho, while my husband ordered the beef special pho. Both were genuinely delicious. The broth had great flavor, everything tasted fresh, and it hit that perfect comforting-but-not-heavy balance. Service was quick and super friendly, even with how busy it was, which we appreciated. It's not quite a 5-star "blown away" experience, but it's a strong 4 stars and absolutely somewhere I'd come back to. I was asked if I wanted a refill on water pretty often which was nice because I like my pho spicy. The food here is pretty good! The banh hoi and buon thit nuong were satisfying. The dishes came with more than enough greens and sauce. I just wished the dishes were served in bowls instead of plates because that made it much more difficult to eat. I've also gotten nem nuong rolls and Vietnamese coffee here during a prior visit. We had a fantastic time during our visit. The broth in both the chicken pho and combination pho were absolutely phenomenal. The fried egg rolls were a good size for a good price. Good amount of meat with our dishes and the price was right for what we got. Overall we were very pleased with our visit. Their chili oil was very very good, I wanted to ask if it was scratch made, but didn't have the opportunity. At first we thought it was a small place, we were presently surprised to find extra seating in the back. It was a cute little place, part hole in the wall part modern chic. Our waitress was fantastic, she had recommendations, kept our drinks full, and checked in on us to make sure everything was good at all times. The service was amazing. Inside is booths, nice and cool inside. I got egg rolls and a rare steak and brisket phó. Everything came quickly. The eggrolls were perfectly cooked, simply delicious. The phó had great flavor. Was glad to see real Siriracha sauce not the fake crap. They had hoisin, chili oil, salt, pepper, and sugar. I traveled here for work. Song Lynn is a little hidden gem as far as I'm concerned. Went there with my husband becasue we had amassive craving for Vietnamese food and wanted to try somewhere we hadn't before. They have a wonderful little appetizer combo, the Song Lynn combo, that's great for when you can't make up your mind which delicious appetizer you want. The egg rolls and fried shrimp rolls were delightfully crispy, shattering between my teeth with each bite, and packed with so much flavor. The spring roll had a wonderful chewniess to it and was tightly rolled, which I prefer to those loose rolls that fall apart after a bite. I ordered a Thai Tea Cream Brulee with boba and the husband ordered a Lychee Sunset Smoothie. Both were refreshing and cool but not cloyingly sweet. I'd order both of those drinks again any day! He ordered the Song Lynn Combination Vermicelli Noodles dish and ate every last bite with relish. The pork was tender without being mushy, the shrimp was sweet and the noodles were plentiful. He definitely got a dish that was well worth the price. It was so good that he kept eating even when he was full because he just couldn't put his chopsticks down! I went with the Wonton and Pork Noodle soup, which was a new one for me at Vietnamese places. It's not your standard Chinese wonton noodle soup. The wontons were fried previously and a bit of a surprise. I thought I wouldn't like it but it was surprisingly good due to the wontons having a tasty filling. It had the same pork as my husband's dish, which made me super happy! And the noodles went on forever! I came into here yesterday and I've been going here for the past almost 8 years never had any problems, but that day I came in to get the same thing I always get which is a bowl of pho and spring rolls usually I like to eat my spring rolls before I eat my pho but when I ate it, it was really warm and I only had one bite and it was pretty bad. It was all warm and I even asked if I could take it back and they said that it's supposed to be warm but every time I go there they give me cold ones so I don't understand. Came back to this place today and once again ordered my favorite dish -- bun bo hue. The broth was rich, flavorful, and had a nice depth to it, just the way I remembered. I was also happy to see a generous variety of meats included, which added to the overall enjoyment of the dish. However, the only thing that didn't quite meet my expectations was the texture of the noodles. They were quite elastic and springy, which is different from the softer, more traditional rice noodles I'm used to. It's a personal preference, but it slightly took away from the authenticity for me. In addition, I tried the grilled beef rice, which was delicious. The beef was nicely seasoned and cooked just right -- tender and flavorful. What really stood out to me about this restaurant is how diverse the menu is. They offer a wide range of Asian dishes, covering different cuisines, and there's also an impressive selection of desserts. Ambiance is so so. But we went there for the Pho and it was fabulous. Every single cut of beef was delicious especially the brisket and tendon. The shrimp fried rice was so so but we definitely will go back because that's the best pho we've found in Phoenix. I ordered to go, I got combination pho, shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls, bbq pork bahn mi, and sugar cane juice. The service was pretty quick. I have been wanting to try this place for a while since I have been seeing all of the positive reviews. It was a bit underwhelming for me. The sugar cane juice was expensive and bitter,( and had I'm assuming calamansi in it?) I know sugar cane juice tends to be expensive just with the labor involved in making it fresh. It did not taste all that fresh. The combination pho is good once you add all the toppings and sauce, but the flavor is not as rich as you would expect from pho. The shrimp spring rolls also were lacking flavor in comparison to other spring rolls I've had. The best thing I tried was the bbq pork bahn mi. Overall, it could've been better. I know this place is very busy usually, so maybe I need to try again and actually sit down. I will update when I try again. read more

Rice was not broken rice though, the egg I requested over my rice was over easy and was on my pork. The grilled pork was EXTREMELY fatty. Almost every piece with some of them inedible to digest. Also, in the 20 years I've eaten Vietnamese I have never Ever finished a plate and my plate was gone with me still feeling like I could have eaten at least a little more rice or salad. The only reason I got yelp was to leave this review. So I would always come here and it would be great but with my most recent visit I was extremely disappointed with the service. Me and my boyfriend arrived at the same time as two other families we all got seated around each other. But for some reason we were basically invisible. Every 20 mins and yes I counted we would have the server come up to us. By the time she got to take our order the other families that came in with us were already getting their food. Our food took 40 mins to come out I am not kidding. We chose to be patient and understanding because it did look busy however I still don't understand how everyone around us got treated better. We would ask our server for something (lemons and napkins) and she would have an attitude. We also asked why our food was taking a while and no apologies were given what so ever. Sat down to have a glass of wine during happy order and order some takeout after a long day. The server was super nice and very attentive and the hh wine was a good pour. I ordered a hh spring roll to have with my wine and put in a to-go order for chicken pho, a grilled shrimp vermicelli bowl and pad Thai. The shrimp tasted fishy in both my spring roll and the vermicelli, and the pho has an excellent flavor but something was off about the chicken so I ended up just eating the noodles and the broth, and that was good.
