Nothing Asian about this place. Clearly, when you see something like this, it's not that authentic. Pho was ok. There wasn't much flavor to the broth but it was doing its job and feeding us. The shaken beef plate was decent. The fried tofu was just fried without any seasoning with dipping sauce. The drinks were good. This place used to be a strip club and it still looks like it. It's a dive! But it's clean and the food is good! Never been for the live music and night life but I have heard good things. The brisket pho and the grand slam fried rice are my go to dishes. The spring rolls and shrimp rolls are awesome. Always fresh and flavorful. He dropped off waters and the menus. We ordered several dishes, they were: One chicken fried rice, one order of spring rolls, one order of crab ragoons, one large steak pho, and one kung pao shrimp. To drink: one Thai tea and waters. The food was the best! Everything was delicious as it was all flavorful, hot, fresh, and beyond tasty. The spring rolls were the highlight as they were jam packed with flavor and meat. The Pho was also yummy, the broth was sooooooo good. In the area and looking for some take-out pho, I decided to order from Pho Cao... When I walked in to pick up my food 20 minutes later, I was met with what others have described -- a very dingy looking restaurant / bar. It happened to be empty and I was admittedly a bit freaked out when I entered. There was literally one employee but my food was ready so I paid and took it home. I was pleasantly surprised by the pho. It was a generous portion (even the regular size), and it had some fresh tasting veggies too. Ok so this place is a hidden gem. Entrainment, a bar, and a big selection menu. The spring rolls were wonderful. One reason it is a 4/5 is they took away the seafood pho. They used to have one on the menu and when I asked this last time he just said no. Well ok then. The service was very slow we waited a long, very long time for our pho and no acknowledgment or anything to compensate for it. Son brought is here for Saturday lunch. In 45 years I have passed this place numerous times. The wife and I split a regular bowl of Teriyaki Chicken. Our son had the house rice. I was ready for some soup and the wife wanted the fixings so that worked out well however I was eyeballing my son's rice, lots of rice. I will be back for rice dishes and the wife can pick her choice. This was followed by a large bowl of coconut Ice Cream which was quite delightful. I am 82 YO. live band was a little over the top for me but I loved watching a full house of people I suppose dancing to current day Music. When you observed the staff interacting with their guest it was obvious why they have been such a hot spot for so long. Everyone even us grumpy old folks had a good time. Great place for date night. It's a dive bar but I love the music, the vibe, and the fusion of different types of Asian food. Great music. We went on a Saturday night to watch a friend play music there. It was a packed house. And I only saw 3 people taking orders, delivering orders and cleaning. I'm sure there was a chef in the back. However they did not show any signs of stress. They were friendly and patient as we made our order. We ordered the spring rolls with shrimp and pork. VERY GOOD. We also ordered the fried rice - it was amazing. We ate everything on the plate! We also ordered the Ramen Pho. I'm Vietnamese so I know I have a bias and I probably prefer traditional pho dishes over modern, fun renditions of pho. This bowl had ramen noodles instead of vermicelli noodles - it was skinny noodles not the udon thick kind - it was okay. The meat (brisket and lean rare steak) were fabulous. The broth was interesting but good. Overall I would give the spring rolls and fried rice 5 stars and the pho 4 stars. We had a great time here. And will come again! read more

So when I first started going here it was because the vegan pho literally the best vegan pho ever and the broth is 10/10! I am no longer vegan and keep going back for both the vegan pho and the steak pho! I always judge a pho by the broth and this broth is SPECTACULAR! We came in from out of town to catch my brothers band play there. Come to find out, they had no sound guy, and hadn't for over a week. This place failed to let any of the bands know this. Needless to say, no one played that night. To boot, the spring rolls were probably the worst I've ever had. The fried rice was mediocre at best. Definitely a different vibe than your traditional Vietnamese restaurant. Food was good, more on the traditional side as it is savory over sweet. My husband and I were visiting Scottsdale for the weekend and this very unique destination was just a 10 minute walk from our hotel. It definitely wasn't what we expected, but that isn't a bad thing. I would describe this place as a dive-ish kind of locals' bar with live music (young musicians trying out original music with their first band) and legit Vietnamese food. We thought the place was super cool. Never been to any place like it. We sat at the bar, the music was a little on the loud side, it was difficult to carry on a continuous conversation, but the entertainment was entertaining and the Pho was phenomenal. My husband had the fried rice and said it was some of the best he has ever had. I wouldn't recommend the spring rolls, but the dumplings looked legit. We came here pretty late on a Sunday in the hopes of getting some good hot pho - in short, we were pretty disappointed with the experience. To be clear, nothing against the service or staff - everyone were really nice - but the cons definitely outweigh the pros for us. When we first walked in, we thought we had arrived at a dive bar because atmosphere is completely that of one. It's a bit dark and, if I'm honest, a bit grungy. There's a huge bar right when you walk in, with some TV screens that were playing sports. The pros were that this was one of the only places that were actually open until 10pm on a Sunday, which is partly why we chose this place. Another cool thing is that they had a live band that had just performed (unfortunately, we missed the performance) and were packing up when we arrived. We were quickly seated and our orders were taken quickly as well. And as mentioned, the staff were very nice - no complaints there. But what I will reflect on are some of the cons we experienced: - I ordered the Vegetarian Pho and it was mostly filled with vegetables versus noodles and soup (see photos) - There was barely any tofu (4-5 small pieces) in the pho - Taste of the broth was VERY basic; did not taste like authentic pho - The booths were elevated with really high tables; super uncomfortable - The atmosphere almost had a club vibe with REALLY loud music; we could barely hear each other across the table in the booth, and there were not a lot of customers in at the time - EXPENSIVE for what you get ($12.5 for a regular sized vegetarian pho, and $15 for large chicken pho) read more

*THIS COMPANY STEALS YOUR MONEY!* First time going to this restaurant with party of 4 on a Sunday night, walking into the restaurant it smells like cigarettes off bat, the waitress who served us was obviously drinking on the job.The fried rice came with the tails on the shrimp which wasn't mentioned on the menu & they clearly haven't been cleaned.we asked if we can get a remake with no shrimp and the owner came out seeming like it was an issue. Customers service is not there what so ever. Even tho the experience was not its best I left a 4 dollar tip. After my bank statement came back I find out they took 99$ from me when it should have been 85$ total including that tip. Called the owner and he said that "the 99$ was written on top the 85$" He tells me he can't give it back on my card and I have to pick it up in cash, so I come later that night and explained I rather get a full refund because overall experience was bad. Especially if you have people stealing from you. Denied my refund and wanted to continue to argue and negotiate. I called the cops and they lied to cops denying everything saying "the receipt is messy and the 4 looked like an 18 with the dollar sign as a tip" crazy. read more

I paid almost $50 at Pho Cao for 4 egg rolls, pho, and curry, which it was filled with half of the container only, Thai chili to go fills it to the top! The white receipt is Thai chili 2 go which is not even the true price, due to uber eats up charging on their app for the food. Pho Cao: divey, but surprisingly authentic! Pho Cao is an interesting concept, one I've never seen before; Vietnamese food/American Karaoke bar. I was concerned with the authenticity of the Vietnamese food given the concept, but was appeased by the Vietnamese on the menu and the steady influx of to go orders while we were there. We were there on a Wednesday evening so there was no live music which I believe is on the weekend. We ordered spring rolls, Bo lu lac (shaken beef), and Cao's special fried rice (Chinese sausage, bbq pork, and shrimp). There were some beer specials for Bf and I requested a piña colada- although they did not have coconut crème. The waiter asked the bartender what they were able to do and they made me a coconut rum/pineapple juice/lime blended concoction which was almost as good as a piña. Really I appreciated the fact that they were willing to work with me! The spring rolls were lackluster, mostly filled with cabbage, a sliver of pork, and shrimp that was not listed on the menu. They stuck to the plate and each other and were dull. The peanut sauce was on the runnier side. Of everything we ordered we would not get this again. The bo lu lac (shaken beef) was some of the best I've been able to find in Arizona! The beef cubes could have more consistent in size and there could have been a smidge more bell peppers but the taste was spot on! The portion was more generous than my eyes had lead me to believe! Cao's special fried rice tasted authentic, the way my friend's mom used to make! Not too salty and not under seasoned. The meat to rice portion was great; there was more meat than rice which you don't see often! We ate about half and took the other half to go. Drove 30 minutes to this place with my wife and it was very nice inside and the scenery was just great however upon ordering they had one poor waiter catering to ALL of the tables on his own, both serving and taking orders. He forgot to write down one dish we ordered but that's not his fault, it was loud and busy. He was a very nice gentleman and very helpful and understanding. However his coworker.. Me and my wife's family tradition is to not start eating until all of the meal is served. We had received our meal by 10:00pm and our missing dish by about 10:06pm and only then did we start eating and an employee wiping down tables made a terrible, disrespectful, disgusting comment.
