The pho is pretty good but this particular location is terrible. There were fruit flies everywhere and weird stuff floating in my water. The server was pretty inattentive and rude. We had to pretty much flag her down (intense forced eye contact) to place our order and then had to ask for the plate of bean sprouts, jalapeños, and basil. It was my sister's first time having pho so she asked if the P4 had beef broth, the server didn't know so I had to answer her. We also ordered wings which took forever to come out and we had to ask about them a few times. I understand that they take longer to cook, but it would've been easier to just give us a heads up and we ordered them at least 10 minutes before the pho order and they still showed up about 15 minutes after our second time asking. I had a groupon, which I admit did say "$20 for dinner" but there was no specific time that dinner started and the price of the pho did not change after a certain time. The sign on the door that listed the groupon rules didn't even mention it, so I assumed that it was just arbitrary and I paid more for the $20 groupon rather than the $15 lunch one. The server was very rude and just kept saying "we're not taking that it's not dinner time" so I had to speak with a manager who told me I could use it this time but next time it's not until after 5PM. I suggested she include that in the groupon, but either way it's kind of pointless considering the menu prices don't change at night. Long story short, this location is awful. One of my favorite restaurants to visit for quick meals.. the pho shrimp soup is fabulous. I enjoy going there for happy hour. Wish that happy hour timeframe went past 5pm because sometimes it is hard to get there by 5pm from where I work. Anytime I feel like I'm coming down with a cold or have a sour throat it is something about the pho soup that heals me after eating. The customer service is great, food is served quickly and it good to see young people (waiters) display attentive courteous service. Having the Chia Tea with my meal is an added tip. The customer service here is what earned this establishment 5 stars. There were 3 young ladies working the evening that I ate here and they were all so pleasant and helpful. This was my first pho experience and I'm glad I had my first experience here! I ordered the eggrolls which were spicy, crispy, and very tasty. After that I ordered the chicken pho. I called in my order to go for two pho noodles with beef broth and one chicken Pho with Crispy Butter Wings. The young lady, Kai-Alayne provided great customer service over the phone and in person. They did an amazing job preparing everything in a quick fashion. I arrived at 11:45 and placed the order at 11:30. They were very friendly when I walked in. First clue should have been no patrons. This place was recommended to me from a nail salon in San Jose, CA. I mentioned that I was going to Bowie, MD and was told her brother owned this place and it was great. We were told we could order "To Go". We ordered a vermicelli dish. It was ready in less than 5 minutes. When we got it home the noodles were way over cooked and the chicken wasn't fresh. You can tell it was days old and very dry. I had to ask for your typical pho toppings (basil, sprouts, jalapeños, and a lime wedge). You shouldn't even be in the business of serving pho if you don't AUTOMATICALLY serve it with the necessary veggies! I also tried a pork rice bowl and it was better than the pho. All in all, my suggestion would be to go north on 301 towards Crofton and stop at VN noodle. And if this same restaurant offers a shrimp salad but slices the shrimp so thinly that one has to wonder "how did they do that?", I'm never going back. This place is pretty solid for pho. The rice bowls are good too. The focus is on light and Fresh, so may not have staples on a SE Asian menu. But worth going in for a healthy lunch. I didn't even try the food. VERY INEFFICIENT! Waited 20 minutes just for the employee to tell me that there is no dine in. I was ready to order takeout and the employee answers a phone order in the kitchen. Waited 20 more minutes not to even get my take out order taken. They have 2 people cooking in the back. Why not have on person come out real quick to take an order and go back, as opposed to stay in the kitchen and act like nobody is there? If you plan to order in person, DONT. Just put a phone order because apparently that's more of a priority. Also, I wasn't the only one waiting. Might as well go to pho 5up a couple miles away. At least they greet you. read more

I decided to try something different and I'm glad I did. Found this place while driving by with my daughter. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service was quick as we were seated immediately. I ordered the Pad Thai and my daughter ordered the Pho D'Lite. Both dishes were great and we had no complaints. The size/portion of food was surprisingly more than we expected. Ingredients tasted fresh and the presentation was nice. While this was my first time it won't be my last. I would of given 5 stars however they don't serve alcohol and I was looking forward to an "adult" beverage as I ate in addition to the can of soda that was brought out with a straw. Worst experience ever had at a food place. When seated was never offered anything to drink, food came with old hard limes, Thai basil was withered and the bean sprouts were brown/soggy. When asked if we could receive new limes we were told that we would have to use the old limes, which were solid hard, because the food truck wasn't in yet. Upon expressing the issue with old ingredients given the waiter told us to wait for the manager to come out and explain the issue with him, but he never came out. Overall take.... This place would be closed if it were in N.Va. Visit only to keep the waitstaff gainfully employed. Steer clear of the Pho, try the other dishes. If you want Pho, shop elsewhere or head to Va. The two stars are for the waitstaff and the fact that we were actually served food. While I'm normally not this critical, I have to say that this was the worst take on Pho I have ever experienced. The good... incredible personalities and attitudes of the waitstaff. (inhale) I am not new to Vietnamese cuisine, especially Pho, and I may be biased as I frequently dine at one of the numerous (more authentic) Vietnamese spots in N. Va. Pho D'lite (appears to be a chain) is advertised as a Southeast Asian Kitchen/ Fusion restaurant. This is evident in their menu, however, with the name one would be lead to believe that Pho was its mainstay. Pho D'Lite in Bowie is lite on Pho! This experience leads me to believe the owners of this establishment are either not Vietnamese, way too cheap to be restauranteurs, or both. Pho: What I was served appeared to be either an unimpressively stocked northern style (Pho bac) or a poorly accompanied Southern style (Pho nam). Wasn't sure if there was a style difference because we had to ask for the accompanying veggies/herbs. Assume they are just cheaply done Pho nam like most other establishments in the area. Either way, they missed the mark. The scoop: 1. Large odd shaped bowl to make you believe you are getting a large bowl, but not a traditional large bowl of Pho by any other standard. Nice look though. 2. Skimpy on lukewarm broth and needed more herbs (basil, ngo gai, bean sprouts, etc) to get any flavor depth. When added veggies and addl meat, broth soaked up like I had added crackers. Ended up with a crunchy, lukewarm mess. 3. Order of extra meats came out frozen in a bowl (not in broth) and had to add cold meat to an already lukewarm bowl of soup. 4. Order of extra noodles doesn't come in broth. Had to order additional side of broth to accompany noodles. 5. Shrimp Pho... where are the shrimp? 6. Can't order pot of steeped tea for the table, must order by the cup and with tea bags. Refills are extra. 7. Summer Rolls... again slacking on the filling. Exhale.... To conclude, save your $$ and go elsewhere. The Kids take: You can find better value and flavor in a bowl of microwaved Pho Bo (YEAH Oh'Ricey)!!! read more

Ugh. I generally have pho at least once a week. In San Diego we have almost as many pho joints as burrito stands. This was certainly the worst pho I have ever had. The noodles were cooked OK, hence two stars, but the broth completely lacked flavor and body. There are better options in the area.
