I went a few times and it was fine. The food was good but the servers always seemed miserable. It wasn't until my last two experiences there I felt I needed to write a review and not return. The reason I will not be returning is because the last time I ordered take out they over charged me and didn't give me all the products I ordered. When I called to explain I had missing items when I got home they said they didn't end up charging me for the things missing which was a lie because there's no way the things I actually received would have cost as much as it did they also fail to give me my receipt in my bag. The last straw for me at this restaurant was when I went in the other day with a friend and again the staff was miserable but we like the soup so we tried going one more time and the reason I will not be back is because the waitress at the end of the night when she came to collect our check and cash legit begin counting the cash out loud at our table in front of us which made for a very awkward experience for my friend and I! In all my years of going out I've never had a server do that! I've also been a server and the proper etiquette would have been to take the check with the cash over to the register and count there not right at the table with your guests. I ordered hot pot. My broth has a huge mosquito in it. I sent it back. Later to find out that they gave me the exact same broth back. I know this because there were mosquito legs still in it. They didn't acknowledge this or compensate us for it. No new broth. They literally gave it back on purpose within 2 minutes. Intentionally trying to deceive us. Also they didn't give us water. Came here with a rather large group of family members when I was in town. My cousin suggested this place and I'm glad he did. The pho here is really good, I will give them that. No oil slick broth anywhere and tastes rather fresh. I just don't like how they limit the toppings, there weren't much on the plate they gave us. The prices were reasonable and my sister got the chow foon, which was really well made with tons of gravy. I had some and it was spot on, done correctly. The decor is nice with fish tank and all, dim lighting to set the mood, or rather, make you eat more, lol. The second time we came here, I got the chow foon and it was delicious. If I could give negative stars I sure would. From entering the place, to being single out because I ask to see the sizes of the soup bowls as there were 3 sizes. The waitress thru the menu on the table and just walked away. Didn't come back until I called for her. Tried to order fried egg rolls and she dismissed my question. When I asked to see the sizes of the bowls she demonstrated with her hands & I told her No I want to see the bowls. Another waiter came and stated "You are the only one to ask for the size just order!" Once I saw the sizes, I made my decision. He went to the back and you could clearly tell that he was complaining about me as he yelled. Second restaurant I've visited since moving to Lowell and I must say it's a lot better than the first one I visited. This is a Vietnamese restaurant with all the classic dishes like Vermicelli, Pho and rice platters. The selection isn't all that bad and the decor was great. Here's the breakdown. The Meal - Appetizer - An order of egg rolls. Two crispy egg rolls with a side of fish sauce. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they didn't cut it in half (they're pretty long egg rolls), but besides that little fact, they weren't that bad at all. Entree - I ended up ordering their Crispy Noodle Chowfoon, special (beef and chicken) but I also elected to add seafood for another 2 dollars. It wasn't all that great but it wasn't that bad either. The sauce was very bland with little flavor but the meats were good. Overall, I thought it was a little overpriced compared to other Vietnamese restaurants though. Desserts/Drinks - I didn't end up getting anything for desserts and for drinks I just had a glass of water with lemon. The Ambiance - The restaurant itself is very nice. It's a new place and they set it up very well. The tables each have a little stove for hot pot and the decor is nice and clean. Overall the place is very well kept in of itself. I did notice that some of the silverware and plates that we were given weren't all that clean. I could see a lot of hard water stains on them. The Service - The service was excellent, very attentive staff who catered to our every need. They weren't busy busy but they were somewhat busy so I give them credit for keeping up with us. The food arrived in a timely manner (if anything, it arrived quickly) and the servers all had smiles on their faces. They came by numerous times to ask if we needed anything and the manager even came by to say hi (which is pleasant for a restaurant like this). Overall, my experience here has been good. Though the food itself wasn't spectacular.. it wasn't bad either. The portions were OK, nothing crazy. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was very clean. Love the food. My family and i have been going here for years although it takes about hour to go. We are picky eaters but their noodle soup is the best in Massachusetts. However, their service is terrible. The worst of all the restaurants i have been to. Very rude and unpleasant in person and over the phone. Their extra large soups changes prices every visit. One of our items were missing so I called back and was told that they were out of it completely- after confirming with me upon pickup that it was what I ordered (and what I was paying for). Seems like suburban Viet restaurants in New England go a little lighter on the seasonings, especially the fish sauce, to keep the locals happy. Too bad. Decor very pleasant, seating comfortable, service very good. Typical Viet menu, with a few cheesy Chinese/Thai dishes thrown in for the amateurs. Crispy noodles good, but served tepid instead of hot, which dulls them. Veggies good. Pho Ga (chicken noodle soup) decent with clean broth. Plenty of moist chicken, ok noodles, nice garnishes. Rice dishes seen pretty decent. Only one clear loser: spring rolls COMPLETELY lacking in flavor. No mint? No cilantro? No carrots? Nothing except flavorless Vermicelli, dull lettuce and boiled shrimp? Don't believe me? Look at the attached picture: white on white. Yes, the accompanying peanut sauce was very good, but it's supposed to complement the rolls, not rescue them from blandness. There has to be something inside the roll giving it texture and flavor! We'll give them another chance, because comfortable surroundings and good service DO count for something. But would it kill them to buy a bunch of mint? read more

This is a decent moderately priced, good for groups, workday lunch place. The service was quick and non-intrusive, and the food was - hey - A-ok -- although I felt like the lunch items tended towards the smaller side, without being reflected in the pricing. Be warned they will charge you with anything they possibly can. For example, you ordered any portion of soup for 1-2 or 3 or even 4 people they will give you a small ass portion of vegetables, not enough for even 1 person. You asked them for some extra vegetables they will charge you extra money it's not the few bucks extra but it's the principle!!! Don't bother going unless you want to be ripped off unnecessary. Honestly if I could give no stars I would. I only write this to forewarn others, as I would want someone to warn me. The food here is ABYSMAL. Truly. And I am not a finicky eater, I'm not the type to send food back or complain to the manager. But I ordered a rice plate with a pork chop and egg and egg rolls. Pretty easy and standard for a Vietnamese restaurant I thought, so I figured I'd try it out. The egg rolls were dry with zero flavor. The pork chop had either been frozen, or cooked a couple days prior. It did not look fresh, smell fresh or taste fresh. I should note the food was also lukewarm. The egg was burned. The only thing edible was the steamed rice. Terrible food. I will say that the customer service was nice. But the "chef" needs a vacation. I will not be back. Maybe you will have a better experience. Nice place with good food. Seating is ample and even on busy nights it doesn't feel overly crowded. They have a gorgeous fish tank that separates the dining area from the bar. I went with my sister a few nights ago and ordered the pork lo mein with eggrolls as my appetizer. BIG fan of the eggrolls, cooked perfectly and great flavor. The lo mein was ok but not as great as the eggrolls. I'm not sure why but they felt a bit heavy and greasy which is not my expectation for Vietnamese food. My sister ordered Pho with meatball and it was outstanding. They brought her a generous side of herbs, sprouts, and jalapenos. Made me wish I had ordered that instead. The food is very reasonably priced. She ordered the small wich is about $8 and is a great portion. My plate was a big portion as well for just under $10. The service was ok. She wasn't amazingly attentive or extremely welcoming but she got the order right and quick, so no complaints. read more

Solid food, pretty nice ambience, and a great waitress. From a Pho perspective, you have the big 3 (Pho da lat, Viet Thai, Pho 88). The Pho is very good and better priced than Pho 88. Flavor wise, very comparable. A bit less steak than 88 but they do give you jalapenos, which 88 does not. Trade offs. I don't know our waitresses name, but she was delightful. Very personable, knowledgeable and attentive. All in all, I'll still frequent all 3 establishments - but Pho Da Lat may have a slight edge for a more relaxing/group atmosphere. read more

When dining in I just ask for some garlic oil (that is usually complimentary) extra charge, can I have some more line seeing that we are a family of 6.....extra.... More bean sprouts since we are a family of 6....extra charge ..... And they give u an attitude . One a they don't tell u about the extra charge until u pay. I have no problem paying for it as long as I am aware. The seafood pho is not great but their number 15 is good! Although I feel like it's a little greasy. Ordering for pick up, takes forever too, but when u get there they don't tellu they probably haven't made it because I don't know why it's taking so long. And if u ask for any condiments which u should already have extra charge again. Came here for hot pot because our group was looking for a local hot pot place and were not up for driving into Boston. First off, we had to push our table back ourselves in order to plug in the table for use with the hot pot. Secondly, after looking at the prices for the different options we were severely let down. The portions were extremely tiny and that would be generous to say that. An order of quail eggs came out with five eggs on a very barren looking plate. For our soup base we got a half and half order of Tom Yum and Beef broth. The Tom Yum flavor tasted like it was a mixture of water and instant Tom Yum paste. The beef broth looked and tasted literally as if they took it from their pho broth. After getting through our meal in silence and depression we were running low on soup for our hot pot. When asking for more liquid we were advised there would be an additional fee for the minuscule amount of liquid the restaurant initially provided. To add to my already low view of the restaurant, I can say without a doubt that I will NEVER be eating hot pot here or referring anyone to this restaurant again. read more

Warning: Hidden charges on new menu. I've been coming to Pho Dalat with my wife and friends for years, but this last trip may be the last. They have recently updated their menu, and not only does it have higher prices, but they hide upcharges at the bottom of the sections. My #30 Vermicelli with egg roll and meats was $1.99 more because I ordered it with beef. Beef is listed as a meat choice at the top of the Vermicelli Bowls (Bun) section, with no indication of the upcharges. There's no indication at the #30 either. After seeing on my bill, I was able to find a tiny red text that says "beef add $1.99" at the bottom of the section. I find this deceptive. I tried to point this out to staff, but the only response I received was the person I spoke to denying that they had been the one to change the menu. No concern, no apology, no offer to share my feedback with management. So, Pho Dalat, congratulations: you have screwed me out of 2 dollars... And lost my business. I think Pho DaLat bought this location because there are lots of hungry people around Drum Hill tech park, and Pho 88 can't handle all of them. The taste and the price are the same as the one on Rt. 110, since the location is closer to home I'll come here more. I do see Pho DaLat get more business over Pho 88 because their soup doesn't have as much MSG as Pho 88. But, Pho 88 do have hotter waitress, so they do track more males eaters ; ) The decor is the trendiest among their 3 locations. Hope they do will. read more

My husband came home all excited that there was a new Vietnamese restaurant for us to try. We love different kinds of food. Last night was our 15th anniversary and we decided to order in and Pho Dalat sounded like a nice way to celebrate. We were very disappointed with everything we ordered. The Spring Rolls were rather tasteless as was the dipping sauce. The grilled shrimp with vermicelli was a bit expensive for 5 small difficult to peel shrimp in the shell. The rest of it was just blah. The beef with straw mushrooms was not only tasteless, the straw mushrooms were raw and out of a can. The other tasteless item was the Chowfoon. The meat was tender but the chef needs to use a heavier hand with spices. I don't think I've ever written a review where I used the word tasteless so much. We won't be going back anytime soon. There was fruit flies in my pho and instead of offering to make me a new one or offer something else the waiter told me the kitchen is closed already even though it was 9:50 and I just received the pho literally two minutes ago and the restaurant closed at 10. The avocado shake was ok, boba was sweet and chewy at least. However, I didn't enjoy the Bun Bo Hue, it was bland so I added satay (house spicy sauce) and eventually all i tasted was the satay. It's my own fault but I wish the soup had more flavor to begin with. read more

Solid standard Americanized Thai Food. It's very convenient for us as take-out, but we have eaten inside a few times. The decor is very minimal, but the service has never been an issue. Our go-to dishes include the crazy noodles (otherwise known as drunken noodles in other Thai establisments) and the yellow curry. They have pretty darn good crab rangoons, but you aren't expecting too much with a crab rangoon to begin with :) The food is a little on the pricey side, which is the most disappointing part because living in Lowell we are surrounded with inexpensive & delicious Asian options. read more

The restaurant looks spacious and clean. The waitress was friendly and helpful, but the Chicken Satay was so dry and they offered a tiny dish of sauce for these big Chicken Satays. Their Maximum curry has no taste at all, so remember to ask them to put more spice and salt if you going to try this dish. read more

I have been here few times and I go there with my family once in a while. Overall, food is not too bad, very basic Vietnamese dish that I usually eat. For the food quality, I don't have much complains here. However, their services are pretty bad. It seems as though the waitresses are not that well trained. There was one time when the waitress actually forgot our order. And one time, I had to wait 45 minutes and the waitress told me to wait another 5 to 10 minutes. The people who arrived later than us got the food earlier than me. (I checked what they were eating and they ordered same things as I did!!!) So I ended up just leaving the place and went to other restaurant. I think I like place for decent food, but much improvement needs to be made in service and speed. I recently moved far away and I flew all the way to Boston Logan mainly to eat at this restaurant.
