Sate is a fast casual vietnamese spot where you can get good value meals! I got the half pho, half banh mi combo. Pho: The pho is pretty good, strong fragrant flavored broth. The noodles are different from traditional vermencelli rice noodles I am used to in other phos; more on the thicker side. The brisket is a bit tough, but they give a decent amount. Classic Banh Mi: I got the classic which comes with thinly sliced pork belly, pate, mayo, and other cold cuts. I thought it was fine. The bread used was pretty good, crispy outside and soft inside. We usually do but, it seemed like everything needed to be customized. When I order pho, I expect the basic basil, mung bean, jalapeños. I didn't appreciate the kitchen adding the basil (whole top) and other items for me. When I order bun I expect the basic bun things. With so many questions of what noodle type, what toppings, things got a bit screwy with accidental noodles of different kinds, I recommend the house noodles for the pho and the vermicelli for the bun. Came here for a quick small bite. SATE Banh Mi & Grille is located in a big and busy retail center in Sandy Springs. Parking is always available in the big lot shared by all of the retail center businesses. Although this restaurant can accommodate a few groups of 4 people, I wouldn't come here with a large group, since there won't be enough seats for everyone. The dining area was well lit and clean. Service at the counter was quick and efficient. Ordered a grilled pork banh mi sandwich split between the two of us, since we wanted something small. What a delicious experience! I decided to try SATE after back to back meetings and appointments and I wasn't disappointed. I love a great banh mi so when I saw that SATE wasn't far from where I was, it seemed like an easy choice. Located in a busy plaza that includes Whole Foods, retail and some other great shops, there's plenty of parking and action here. SATE is one of the smaller businesses in the plaza but as soon as you walk in, you feel the good energy. It was so colorful in there! I could tell that they really put thought and time behind their decor included the artwork on the wall and the rattan/bamboo art display. There were a number of tables ready for you or however many guests you have in your party. When I first walked in I saw 3-4 self-checkout stands - cool concept! I like that the employees were super helpful and more than willing to take my order. But when one young lady told me that the kiosks had special sandwich deals, I was set on using it. The kiosk was incredibly easy to use and navigate. I was actually blown away by the prices and deals available! $5.50 banh mi, 99cent drinks with another purchase, and more. Such great prices for some amazing menu options. I decided to go with a brown sugar boba latte, the honey pork banh mi, a summer roll and shrimp chips + pate and it totaled just under $25. What a steal! The portions were great and enough to share, (but I did not lol). The brown sugar boba was sooo delicious. Not too sweet but just the perfect amount of flavor paired with the boba. The summer roll was even better than I expected, especially paired with the spicy sweet chili fish sauce. I love sweet chili flavors but the fish sauce took it to another level, it also had the perfect kick. And the banh mi! The honey pork was such a perfect choice, I just wish I had purchased two of them. The pork paired perfectly with the toasted roll and crunchy veggies - I'm still dreaming of it. Absolutely delicious and locally owned. The combos all looked great. It was a tough call. The owner saw me struggling on a decision and masterfully guided me with helpful suggestions. I got the half bang mi with tofu and pineapple. It is a great combination that the owner developed himself,-made with fresh pineapple. This place is great! I had a little Hiccup with my first experience via DoorDash and Ton was so very gracious. Not only did he fix the issue that day, he sent me a message asking me to revisit. I brought my family in today. It's a smallish spot but bustling! It's a family friendly sport that has something for everything. I love the inside decor. The painting on the wall add to the ambiance. My boys loved their pho. I got the beef stew bahn mi again.. incredible again. I live an hour away, but this will be a place I always visit when I'm nearby. Randomly picked this place since we were passing by. It's an absolute gem. Ton was very patient, friendly and informative. He helped us guided our process since we didn't know what to get. We ordered the classic banh mi, beef stew with fresh noodles and summer spring roll. Order came fast and was delicious. The vibe is fast-food, order at the counter with food brought to your table. Edit to add: Ton was considerate and mentioned different sauce for the summer roll as compared to the classic peanut sauce. Okay so I was shopping in the plaza and I saw this restaurant that's sold Pho. I haven't found a place here in Atlanta that had a good one yet. It's always been my go-to food when I'm sad or not feeling my best. It's healthy and it tastes so good. Well I walked in the place was empty but clean and I met Marvin. Such a very nice man who knew a lot about the menu. He helped me decide on the chicken Pho.Okay I'm just going to get right to the point it was really really good. I love the beef broth it was delicious not too salty. With a hint of the chicken fat oil in it very smooth. They gave me slices of chicken breast which was awesome that I could actually see that it was a breast. Not the usual shredded chicken that is so dry sometimes at different places. The noodles were not the thin rice ones but a little thicker wider noodle which was a unique texture change. It look like a linguine noodle but made of rice. I can explain how amazing it is to have found someplace that is easy and convenient and quick when you're craving a Bun Salad! This little diner is clean and has plenty of seating inside. There are a couple of tables outside as well. I came in just after the lunch crowd, and there were still quite a few tables filled. While someone was ordering at the kiosk--which is convenient--I was able to walk right up to the register and order a Bun Salad with vermicelli noodles, grilled chicken, all the veggies, and the chili fish sauce dressing. UH-mazing & filling. The bowl didn't seem like a lot, but was just right for lunch. I had to try a side of the corn with little shrimps as well. The corn was warm, buttery, & good. I didn't see the shrimp, nor did I taste anything like shrimp. It was still good. I gotta say, too, that the guy at the counter was super welcoming, helpful, & friendly. I'm not one to go to pho spots. And of the banh mi's (that's my usual pick), I'm just so so with most places. I'm pleasantly surprised by the food at this place. The prices weren't amazing, but it's also this immediate area. I definitely enjoyed the flair in their menu: combo to mix and match and food choices like the wrap. The wrap was pretty tasty. I guess if you're not into the extra carbs in a banh mi, you can get it in a wrap form. The ability to customize the ingredients was also fun. Trying the Sate wrap was a great pick compared to more traditional items. I was super surprised by how much I enjoyed the pho (grew up eating too much of this stuff so now I'm just turned off by its smell). I'm not saying it's the best pho ever, but by having some here and there these past few months, this one here was really flavorful with a nice broth profile. The half banh mi with the small pho combo (#7) was tasty as well. The beef stew was really unique. It tasted like beef stew if you were to cram it into a sandwich form. It definitely made the bread more soggy, but an interesting banh mi none the less. And reading the description, I see that their butter is made in-house. Interesting... Something to keep in mind is that with the combo, you might be getting only half a banh mi. And with the pho, it comes in a plastic bowl. Where do I start?! I found this place on google while searching for something to eat while my son was in the area for his birthday. I wasn't able to try it but came back a week later because I absolutely love a good Banh mi. I was greated as soon as I walked in, and quickly helped. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable along the way since it was my first time. The food came out fast, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Even with the modifications I made they accurately completed the order in a very fast manner. The owner was extremely friendly and polite. He was an absolute pleasure and the service provided was amongst anything I've experienced in Atlanta recently. The space is slightly smaller but works perfect for the location. We were easily able to get a seat even during lunch hour before food came out. Over all this place is an absolute model business for what good customer service, good food, and fair pricing should be. We were looking for a place that had both pho and banh mi and we found it here. The parking lot is busy as it shares with the strip mall anchored by Whole Foods. We went inside and it is definitely a fast casual place. You order at the counter and get a number and they bring it to your table. It was BOGO 50% off on banh mi's, but they were a bit small. The pho looked good though so I went with that. The portion was small as well but tasty. The broth was nice and light and there was a decent amount of meat. The part I did not like was that it came with the veggies and accoutrement already in the bowl. I like to put it in myself and even though it was a good combo, I like to autonomy of doing it myself. This is in a pretty busy plaza so sometimes it could be a challenge to find parking close to the entrance but usually you would be fine. They have a self order kiosk but I decided to still order at the counter. I won't say that the customer service was bad but they just didn't really speak to me I guess? Idk it was awkward lol. I ended up ordering the grilled pork Bahn mi, their house made "chips" and Vietnamese coffee. Everything took no more than 10 minutes to come out. I took it to go and ate at home. The Vietnamese coffee is very strong and they don't really stir up the condensed milk well so I had to do that once I got home, so once I did that it was pretty tasty. The bahn mi was pretty good. The bread is super soft but I feel like the toppings were ok. Like I know it's supposed to come with cilantro but they literally just threw a whole cilantro sprig in which was a little lazy to me. When I ate the second half my bread was pretty soggy and a little greasy so idk if I would get it again. Maybe because it was grilled pork? I have no idea what the chips are made from but I really liked them lol. Overall the meal was tasty but idk if it was my protein choice that was the downfall. I got the chicken banhmi without pate (they'll always ask if you want to add pate, it's not on it initially) and a veggie pho with fresh noodles. The chicken banhmi was great and the bread was nice and hard on the outside but soft and chewy inside. They have sauces like chili peppers in fish sauce, garlic slices in vinegar (really like this condiment), and their special sate sauce (sort of sweet, onion, lemongrass, tangy taste). The pho broth is a little too sweet for my liking but the noodles are pretty good and there was a good amount of veggies and tofu. Service is nice and speedy. I love the atmosphere. It bright, funny and very clean. The person at the counter was very soft spoken but a little hard to hear. I inquired about gluten free items and he seemed to know. I ordered the fresh made noodles, which are gluten free with the grilled pork, bean sprouts, lettuce, carrots, red onion, cucumber and shallots. Celiacs Beware!!! I don't often write reviews, though I certainly frequently depend upon them. I wanted to make an exception after eating at SATE. SATE deserves every one of these five stars. I walked in and immediately noted that there was an absence of the old Vietnamese grandmothers (that often don't speak English) that run my other two favorite Vietnamese spots. I was wrong to judge this place so harshly. And though the banh mi I had (one with grilled pork and a second with mushrooms) were not exactly on par with the sandwiches I get from the more traditional places I frequent, they were pretty damn close. I also got a Thai tea milk tea which was pretty good, though not the best I've ever had. Lastly, what I liked also was the buy-one-get-one free offer they have after 3 PM. Buy one banh mi sandwich and get the second free, but only if you order from the counter. Do not order from the computer screen, if you want this deal. I tend to be too picky for my own good... and don't often return to many of the restaurants I try, but in this case, I will definitely be coming back. read more

First time visit for snowbirds passing through on the way home from Florida. This turned out to be a fabulous experience, as well as an INCREDIBLE meal.
