Food: - I ordered the vermicelli chicken wrap which was tasty. The wrap size was bigger than Im use to so when I had to dunk it in the water and place it on the plate, it was engulfing the whole plate so it was a bit tough to wrap. The taste overall was good but I would prefer the chicken to be more grilled. - we also orders the crispy spring roll which was crispy, hot and tasty. - my husband ordered the bbh beef stew and he liked it but also said it was just ok. We have had some really good ones lately, so the competition is tough. Service: We had a really nice waitress and she was attentive throughout. the food is sooo delicious ! the chicken pho is amazing with peanut sauce or even fish sauce ! the special pho is also amazing with the table sauces. Viet pad thai is a great choice as well.There are so many options it's overwhelming but you'll always find something you love; even on the dessert menu, the NY cheesecake is the best finisher to any meal.the servers are very attentive and focus on getting you whatever you may need. the music is always good, usually cover music but always something you know. We stopped by for dinner and I think this might be my new favorite pho place in the state. The broth is very authentic and tasty here, and the quality of the meat, including the tendon pieces, is unmatched. We also tried the barbecue pork dish and it was so delicious. Perfectly seasoned, slightly sweet, and reminiscent of kbbq beef short ribs but it's pork. It went so well with the rice, which the flavor seeped into. I actually haven't eaten *in* the restaurant funnily enough. Years ago, someone told me the rare beef pho was fantastic and I've had it delivered here an obscene amount of times. If you're wondering if you should try it, you should. Definitely add the hot peppers and if you're really hungry, add some extra beef for more protein. The broth is delicious and they always include the right amount of sprouts, cilantro, onions, and scallions. It's so good that now I think I need to order it again this week. Not sure why I haven't written a review of Pho Dakao until now as I've been here many times and have never had a bad meal! Last nights meal was exceptional. Apps: crab rangoon, crispy rolls, and fresh summer rolls. Rangoons and rolls came out piping hot. The crab rangoons and summer rolls are my favorites here. Main meals: Mongolian beef, yellow curry with chicken and veggies, and pineapple rice. Omgosh these were so good. Each with so much flavor. I had seen this restaurant in downtown Framingham and had never tried Vietnamese food, so we decided to give it a try. We had a nice open window seat, and a nice older gentleman as a waiter. We explained we had never had this type of food and asked for guidance. He was very attentive and explained different types of dishes. In the end we asked for his top two main dish recommendations and appetizer choice. He did not pick the most expensive items, but one of the cheapest appetizer as well as main course. We started with the summer rolls, nice large shrimp inside the roll with a good peanut sauce to dip. We then shared the spicy Udon soup and the Vermicelli combo. The soup was spicy but not overwhelmingly hot. Had a great flavor and a decent amount of beef in it. The Vermicelli combo was also a good size and had plenty of meat and noodles. Unfortunately, in it's current state, this place is mediocre at best. Came here after my last visit a year prior. While prices have remained the same, portion sizes are considerably smaller. My husband and I ordered an appetizer and two medium bowls of pho, and we both left hungry (and I weigh 115 lb soaking wet). Portions seem to be down by 30% -- noodle portions are smaller, there is much less meat, and it seems that they have attempted to cover for this by ladling in extra broth, which, unfortunately, is watered down and bland. Hot sauce now needs to be requested from the kitchen. Service also leaves much to be desired. When we were ready to order, I let the server know -- to which she told me that "the waitress will take your order." ...10 minutes later, nobody came to take our order. Said server eventually came back upon realizing nobody was coming to our table. Meh. Not worth coming back to; I would rather make the extra effort to drive out further away to avoid essentially paying for a meal-priced snack. I wish this business the best. read more

Me and my kids love pho and Pho Dakao does a great rendition of it. The only challenge I have is we have to get it delivered via Grub Hub, and they don't seem to take as much care as they do for dine in. My order of 4 Pho Tai last week was very short on meat (3 pieces in one, 6 smaller pieces in other.) this week I adjust and ordered extra meat. Lo and behold the base meat was way more than last time and the extra was almost too much. The biggest issue was in this order they only shipped 2 of the 3 orders of Pho. Grub hub refunded but it is ultimate sadness to miss out on Pho so that my kids could eat the two orders. Please take better care and attention to take out orders. Food is happiness. read more

On a rainy and chilly day, this place was a blessing because it satisfied our pho craving! I didn't know Framingham had a pho spot until Yelp brought it to our attention. We were excited to see that it had parking in the back and that they had so many different offerings of Vietnamese cuisine (in Vietnamese too!). Will have to definitely come back some time to try more! For our visit we ordered spring rolls, Banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe), medium pho tai (rare steak), and Thai ice tea. I was surprised at how sweet the Thai ice tea was. I prefer less sweet but my friend really liked it! The Vietnamese crepe came out nice and crispy how we liked it. However wished they had more lettuce to wrap! The spring rolls were a great start to the meal and made perfectly. Finally for the pho, I really liked the flavor of the broth and how soothing it was for the chilly day. However I'm used to rare steak being rare or medium rare for us to then dunk in the soup. TL DR: Okay Vietnamese place, one of the few in the area. If you take out pho, recommend you reheat the broth at home before eating. Okay to be honest, I went to college and would often to Boston's Chinatown and then I moved to NYC so my standards for pho are VERY high... The pho at Pho Dakao is imo a solid 3 stars BUT I'm going to give it 4 stars in comparison to the Olive Gardens and TGIFridays and other restaurants chains in the area - it's pretty good. There's also not many Vietnamese restaurants in the area and they have a very robust menu so even though my mind was not blown, I do recommend stopping by if you're in the area and craving Vietnamese or pho. This is the second or third time I've eaten at Pho Dakao. I haven't eaten inside in a long time so I can't comment on the waiter service. For this time around, I got takeout and ordered the pho tai. They separate the noodles and toppings from the broth. The broth cooled down on the drive back which is to be expected to recommend if you get takeout to reheat the broth on the stove before pouring it over your noodles and toppings. The pho broth is very light, I personally think it tastes watered down in comparison to other phos I've had. But I do like that they didn't skimp on toppings for take out. They slap a basic pho item on their menu and try to call it Vietnamese cuisine. Well they done messed up. I ordered a very classic com bo noung, grilled beef rice plate, that should generally come with broken rice, beef and fish sauce. I received a beef stir fried dish. Not to mention i told them I had green peppers allergies. There are green peppers in this dish. Google it and you will get what the dish is supposed to be. NO one here speaks Vietnamese. Its like saying you have an American restaurant and no one there speaks english. They claim the owner speaks Vietnamese but they are usually never around. Perfect. Went last night, a quiet rainy Sunday with five adult family members full of expectation for an enjoyable evening. Came away quite disappointed. Right off the bat, though the bar is well stocked we learned that the only mixed cocktails they serve are the ten on the menu (Mai-tai, 2 margaritas, mojito, etc.), so no Manhattan or Old Fashioned's. As we were recalibrating our drink selections the waiter looked at his watch. We watched the margaritas being prepared and they were not made as advertised with fresh lime juice and Cointreau, but a watery, sweet concoction made with bar triple sec and sweet & sour mix. Service was poor. At each step - settings, drinks, appetizers, and entrees - the waiter stood at the end of the table and had us pass everything down, though the table had room all the way around. Two entrees came out, both Saigon noodles with seafood, which was good. Five minutes later, two more entrees came out. Fifteen minutes later, as four of us were finishing the last bites of our dinners, I got up to speak to the manager about my wife's Pho (which one would think would arrive first). At that point the waiter walked by with her soup, which she found surprisingly bland. For dessert we were all going to order either Ginger or Coconut ice cream. but as we ordered the waiter said they do not serve ice cream any more. As he already had the check ready, we paid and quickly left for the Ben & Jerry's store in Natick, where we spent the most enjoyable part of the evening. read more
