A spot-on 5 star place in terms of food. We went on an afternoon over the weekend after a hike. The ambience of the place is just right after a long hike in the hot sun. Started off with Boba Thai tea which was perfect for a sunny afternoon and ordered a large vegetable pho to be shared among 3 of us. The pho here is the perfect dish in every way!! The super rich yet subtle flavors, from the broth,the quantity, the perfectly steamed veggies, super slimy noodles that melt in your mouth, everything about it is great!!! Even now as I am writing this review I can't help but drool over the thought!!!! Don't miss out on the Pho here!! Surprisingly, inspite of the light broth and veggies it is quite filling. We'd previously ordered take-out from Pho Dakao, but last night was our first dine-in visit. We were struggling to find an enticing option for dinner on a Monday night, and wanted to impress a visiting family member. Pho Dakao knocked it out of the park. When we arrived, we could tell that the restaurant would be a bit slower as they only had a single server working. The other server was busy putting together take-out meals for the steady stream of customers that came in. We didn't mind and only had to wait ~2min before we were seated at a comfortable booth. Our server was very polite and promptly brought us waters and table settings, as well as took our drink orders. I got a "miami mojito" and while I'm not sure it was any different than a regular mojito it was delicious and cold, with a nice sprig of fresh mint (no yucky, wilted scraps of a mint plant here!). Our server came back after a few minutes and took our food orders. Again, she was polite, prompt, and never made us feel rushed. We ordered appetizers with one alteration (asking for a tofu summer roll). Appetizers came out fairly quick and our food was soon to follow. My BBQ Pork Chop with fried rice was a plentiful serving with lots of meat seasoned well and the pork was nice and tender. My wife got an Udon soup which she found very tasty. Our server came back to check on us even though we saw that at least 6 or 7 other tables had been seated while we ate. Overall, I would definitely come back again to dine-in, would certainly bring friends here to share a delicious meal or cocktail, and Pho Dakao will become one of our go-to spots for take-out. Story time: TLDR: their customer service is absolutely terrible and they made me waste my entire lunch break to correct an error they made. I will never order here again, especially since they refused to own up to their mistake or offer me any sort of consideration. So I have ordered pho via Grubhub several times now. I've always enjoyed their broth and have never had issues. The last time I ordered I had the Beef Stew noodle soup and the broth was divine! The broth comes with beef and carrots and has a distinct taste. I was so in love with my meal that I decided today to order the same thing. My coworker got the Spicy Beef Noodle soup as well. When our order arrived, I added my noodles to my broth and when I took a sip I felt the kick from the spice. Upon further inspection, I came to realize that they sent two of the same broth (the spicy one) I called the restaurant and informed them of the error. The woman I spoke to put me on hold while she spoke with the kitchen. When she came back on the phone, she tells me that the kitchen sent us the correct order and that she had verified it. I politely told her that there is no way they put the correct order as mine did not have the usual carrots. After a bit of back and forth discussion, she tells me to stop by and pick up the correct broth. I tell her that I would also need noodles since I had used them and she tells me it will be $4.65 or so (can't remember the actual price). Initially I had no issue paying for the noodles because I just wanted my food. When I get to the restaurant, the woman directs me to a younger man who takes the broth I brought back into the kitchen. Moments later a man comes out and starts to speak with him in Spanish. I can speak Spanish fluently and I heard that he was saying something about the broth and it not coming with the correct noodles? Idk. So after he comes back with the correct soup I inspect to make sure that it was correct. I ask the man if I am all set and he reluctantly says yes.... so I left. As I get back to work since I've wasted an entire lunch break, the bag rips open and broth spills all over my pants. Furious, I head into my office and as you can see in the last picture I confirm that the broths are in fact different and I was not going crazy or being difficult. The redder broth is the incorrect broth and the clearer one is what I should have gotten. I am mortified at their lack of professionalism and customer service. read more

We normally get take out from here. My wife loves the chicken noodle soup. She also orders the edamame which are both equally good. The delivery is usually very quick and is always correct. We will need to make it a point to get into the restaurant but my wife isn't a big fan of the downtown scene as it makes her nervous. read more

Summary: Overall average pho, but I just don't feel you get the value. Was kind of a chilly afternoon so we decided to stop by to get some pho noodle soup. The exterior and interior Decour were pretty nice, and they do have a nice bar area. Really to get a feel for how good a Vietnamese restaurant is, you have to get the dac biet! so we ordered the large size, and it came with four small slices of rare beef, a small plate of vegetables. I don't know about you but are use a lot of beans sprouts, basil, and peppers. And if you request additional vegetables that's an additional charge. The soup was pretty good, but I definitely had a cleaner tasting soup in many other locations. We also had an appetizer of crispy spring rolls, those were pretty decent as well. The general vibe of the restaurant is that is trying to be upscale in Framingham, and I understand it's kind of the upcoming city, but I definitely get better pho in so many other places for a lot cheaper. Stopped by here on a rainy Saturday night. Came here for an early dinner. Ordered the soothing sizzling Mongolian chicken (sizzlers) and coconut juice. Chicken was very tender and just loved the onions in chicken. The coconut juice had pulps of the coconut and it was very sweet. It's one of those drinks that you just can't stop drinking. I was craving that salty delicious bowl of comfort and Pho Dakao did not disappoint. I came here on a Saturday night on the early side and the restaurant was fairly empty. My server was nice, attentive and accommodating. I am vegan and wanted the vegetarian pho, which is made with veggie broth but I wanted the smaller size because I have a hard time finishing a large bowl and pho is the best when it's fresh! She advised me to order the smaller size of the vegetable noodle soup made with veggie broth (on the menu this is listed with only chicken or beef broth) and add tofu (which is about the same price as the large vegetarian pho). My order was ready in about 10-15 minutes and was chock full of fresh veggies that were still crisp from being thrown in the hot soup, which I LOVE. They're not the most accommodating with their dishes. As a vegetarian, their tofu vermicelli dish is bland. I asked if they could add lemongrass tofu, what they use for their rice dish, but the woman said no. Also, when asked if they could add vegetarian spring roll to the dish, just like they do for the meat dishes, she gave this huge sigh like this was a major imposition. These are small gestures that would go a long way in making their dish more tasty and desirable. I don't get the sense they care either. Too bad. Great ambience, but bland food. I came here in a whim because it was on the way to a meeting I had in west MA. The reviews really hyped the place up for me, so maybe I just had lofty expectations. Going in, it's certainly the most "upscale" looking pho place I've ever been to. Everything was clean, sharp, and looked really out together. The booths were well maintained and the staff attentive. The food however was lackluster in my opinion. I got what I always get in pho places, the summer roll, and the pho with the most meat. The summer roll tasted fresh, but there wasn't enough pork inside. And the cold roll paired with the warm peanut sauce was a little off putting. It didn't work for me. What was great about the pho was that he garnishes were fresh. However the broth and everything in it was pretty bland. Maybe I just like it super salty, but I didn't enjoy this bowl. read more

I got take out bowl of a little over a year ago and didn't order from Pho Dakao again til today. I vaguely remember not liking the pho (hence why I didn't order from them again even though they are close to wear I live and Iovd Vietnamese food), but I was real hungry and decided to just try again. I really shouldn't have. I got takeout again this time ordering the "Vermicelli Fried Tofu" which comes with the sauce on the side, and Vegetarian Summer Rolls. I've never had such bland "Vietnamese" food in my life. I don't have super high standards, especially when it comes to takeout/delivery, but this was bad. The summer rolls were okay, and the dipping sauce was not as good as in used to getting or making myself (it's really easy to make). The noodle dish however was a major disappointment. I opened the plate to find completely white vermicelli noodles with cubesnod tofu on top, a cup of light orange sauce, and vegetables on the side The fried tofu was dry and tough. But if the rest had at least tasted good, I wouldn't have minded (again I don't have super high standards especially when it comes to takeout). The noodles were plain and I added the sauce but it was so bland it almost may as well have not been included. The the vegetables. They were just the plain, uncooked vegetables that are usually served with a pho dish. Not real appetizing with a cold brothless noodle dish . I didn't have anything appropriate to flavor the noodles with so I just got some soy sauce from my fridge. It didn't taste great but it was an improvement from basically eating plain wet noodles. The regular Fresh Summer Rolls had an odd smell when I opened them ( but the person who ate them mentioned no problem to me), and the Mango Smoothie had an odd consistency the top was smoothie like, but the bottom third or so was liquid. The person that ordered the smoothie ended up just pouring out the rest. I've never had bad Vietnamese food in my life, and from seeing some of these other reviews this place doesn't really specialize in Vietnamese food. To top it off it's overpriced. I wouldn't mind the price if it at least tasted good, but I paid a higher price for food quality that's below the quality I'd expect for even regular priced food. Lastly, how is Pho in the name but there are basically no "pho" dishes? The word pho isn't even on the menu. If you're looking for a Vietnamese food fix look elsewhere. read more

The restaurant is fairly spacious, and my friend and I were seated immediately without any wait. Got the fresh spring rolls with pork and shrimp in it to share for starters. It was pretty bad - vegetables inside were limp, shrimp tasted off and it was very bland in overall. For the main entree, I got the Pho Special which had rare steak, brisket, tendon and tripe in it. Medium size is pretty small. There was barely any meat toppings on the noodles and the soup came lukewarm. It tasted pretty sweet, and left me feeling very thirsty after the meal which makes me believe they use a lot of MSG. I think I'll stick to Pho Pasteur in Boston! If you're here I would probably recommend getting the Mongolian Beef instead as it smells good and seems popular for orders. read more

The food is good, but the service is not. I've been here about 5-7 times, mostly for sit-down dining but also a couple times for take-out. On more than one occasion I've arrived late afternoon (3pm-ish) and the place has been empty, yet the service takes FOREVER. This was my complaint on my last sit-down visit. The food is tasty (love the pho noodle soups and fresh basil and bean sprouts that accompany it.) Disappointed in the Vietnamese Pancake; it's very expensive at $11+ and nowhere near as delicious as the ones in Boston (like Pho Pasteur, etc.) It's nice to have a Vietnamese restaurant in this area, so give it a try and see for yourself. read more

There is free parking at the back of the restaurant so you don't have to use a meter. The beef teriyaki on sticks were the best I've had - fragrant with crushed peanuts, lemongrass and green onion. We are Pho regulars here the past 5 years. Price charge is high price relative to value you get- even at largest size upcharge doesn't get you a whole lot of noodles, ingredients, and even the garnishes compared to the other pho restaurants we been to. We keep coming back as there is no other decent Asian restaurant in the Middlesex county area where we get a hungering for pho! I had a bite and spit my chicken teriyaki out. I didn't know what I was tasting until I hear it up in the oven and cooked it through. We got raw chicken!
