So so bad. Got the vermicelli with pork and shrimp. Something tasted fishy. I know, it comes with fish sauce. But this fishiness did not taste anything like the normal fish sauce that normally comes with it. The shrimp was burnt on the outside, despite being undercooked on the inside. I was also left famished after eating this $10.75 bowl of vermicelli (little overpriced compared to other pho places I've been to). Why? They only put two small pieces of pork in the bowl, and two shrimps. Barely ANY meat. The rest of the bowl was just vermicelli and some veggies, but I really think the portion was kind of small, which I wouldn't have minded had it tasted good. read more

If I could give negative stars I would; the worst dining experience I can remember. My fiancé and I frequent this restaurant because the food is good, however the service is consistently terrible. Today's experience was so awful, I can honestly say that we will never go back. Our waitress today was clearly flustered and frustrated for no apparent reason; they were not particularly busy. We were sitting at our table for at least 5 minutes before anyone even brought us a menu or took our drink order. Once we finally ordered, the food took unnecessarily long to prepare. Little did I know things were about to get much worse. Our check totaled $26.00. When the waitress returned with our receipt, she notified me that she charged us $48.00, but not to worry because she voided the transaction. I promptly checked my bank account and this money was already on hold in addition to the $26.00 for our actual meal. I asked how does this happen? What did you do? She clearly charged us for the table of 4 sitting behind us. Upon asking to speak to the manager, we were told that he was unavailable and were met with much attitude and disrespect from the waitress staff. I told them I would be leaving a negative review on yelp and was told they didn't care. Take my advice, if you value good food and a pleasant dining experience, you should look elsewhere. I sincerely hope this review triggers the management of this establishment to take a look at their staff and make some changes. They definitely just lost 2 loyal, frequent customers today. read more

So I come here once every month or so. Yesterdays will be my last. They really started skimping out quantity the last couple times and the broth started to taste watered down. My large bowl of pho had a ton of soup, but barely any beef and noodles. Whenever I go to other pho places, I can't finish the noodles but yesterday I finished everything and left hungry. I went to get wings afterwards. For 10 dollars a bowl, I expect a TON of noodles and much much more pieces of beef. Takeout is even more pathetic. Save your money and don't come here. This place was great. We went on a Sunday night when it wasn't very busy. I got Pho with rare steak and it was soooo good. The medium was cheap and the perfect size. My girlfriend got something with curry that she said was great. For dessert we shared mango mochi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The waiter was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Food is OK (don't get the Pad Thai, taste nothing like one) but when customers know better than the servers about where the dishes should go...there's something seriously wrong with service. Our waiter seated us and didn't come back till 15 min later. That being said, it's one of the only two places in the area that we know of serving Pho (the other being Thai place). The best pho chicken soup west of Boston! Very generous portion for a great value. Fresh chicken breast, great spices, flavorful broth. DELISH! The shrimp pad thai was also good but not the standard THAI pad thai we are used to. Very fresh and didn't feel as heavy as a standard Thai noodle dish. I am glad to see a good restaurant in downtown Framingham. I went there for the first time tonight because I had a Groupon and thought I'd give it a try. It was delicious! We started out with the summer rolls which everyone here seems to be raving about...and with good reason. They were light and crunchy and the peanut dipping sauce was good. I overheard the waitress at the next table recommend the seafood medley (or something like that) which is what I ordered. It contained a lot of different veggies and shrimp, squid and scallops. Very good! My husband got the sweet and sour chicken and the Vietnam fried rice , both of which he enjoyed. We thought we'd have so much to take home in a doggie bag, but we ate it all up because it was so good. Alcohol prices were reasonable and the food prices were reasonable. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the service was a bit slow. The owner explained that he thought it would be slow because of 4th of July weekend, but he unexpectedly had a full house. A nice problem to have. We will return again! read more

My husband is a Pho LOVER. Pho for a hang over, Pho for a cold, Pho because it's raining, Pho because it's sunny, you name it and he wants Pho. We were both so excited when we happened to go through down town Framingham last weekend and saw this new restaurant. We tried it out immediately. My husband, the Pho Lover, is understandably picky and gave the Special Pho two thumbs up. I'm not nearly as in love with Pho as him and I thought the Rare Beef Pho was equally as delicious. Our 18 month old baby loved the spring rolls, the noodles, and the bean sprouts, carrots, etc that came with the Pho. Overall this family was more than satisfied with the food! Finally, at 12:55, 5 minutes till we had to be back at work, we FINALLY get our food. Not once did the waiters check on us and we had to actually bother them ourselves. My family and I were very excited when a pho restaurant opened close to home (well, closer than Boston, at least). I've been there several times and the service has always left something to be desired. It can take a LONG time to get drinks, sometimes longer than it takes to get food, and the waitstaff seem generally lacking in knowledge of the food. I actually had a waitress tell me once, after asking for an opinion on a dish, that she didn't know if it was good because she doesn't eat Vietnamese food. That's it. Not even the stereotypical waitress "it's so good! Everyone loves it!" lie that everyone (including me) has told. At least she was honest, but very unhelpful. As for the food, it seems to be hit or miss. The pho can be bland and I'm usually disappointed by the portions of meat and noodles, but I've have other dishes that were consistently delicious, like the Mongolian beef or soft shell crab appetizer. All in all, it can be worth a visit if you don't feel like driving all the way to Boston and are craving Vietnamese, but don't expect to be wowed. read more

This place is not authentic Vietnamese pho. No one speaks Vietnamese. The large special pho I got had mostly broth and few pieces of meat and a little noodles. The broth seemed water down and full of msg since I got super thirsty soon after leaving. My coworker got an crispy egg roll appetizer and it seemed mostly of the wrapping around it. This place has above average pho prices. The service was pretty decent up to the bill part. We asked for split checks and he laughed and said no. However he was kind enough to tell us our separate costs were and charged us that. We went in for a 2 PM lunch! The place was empty and expected quick service, but it was slow! Took 20 mins for appetizers of an order of chicken and beef skewers, they were both dry and over cooked!! The main dish of beef soup (that we tried to have the waiter explain it to us), was not what we expected as how he described It, took another 20 mins,it smelled and tasted aweful to the both of us! When we told him that it was not acceptable, we were appalled when he told us that we still had to pay for it b/c we had ordered it and that he did not want to offend the chef!! Ate dinner with a friend last night at Pho Dakao and was pleasantly surprised at the great flavors. The service was extremely prompt and friendly. The menu serves up great Vietnamese classics. If youre looking for a great, authentic noodle shop I recommend Pho Sure or Noodle City. If your looking for a great case of food poisoning make sure you stop by Pho Dakao. For an appetizer, we ordered the crab rangoon. There's something really unique about these crab rangoons that really help it stand out from other restaurant's ; that being that the appetizer and it's sauce reeked of vinegar. The smell was so potent it smothered any appetite I had left. Then I ordered the Spicy Beef Udon and every single piece of "beef" was more of a fat cap, jiggling at me whenever I tried to eat the rubbery dog food chunk with chopsticks. The Udon noodles tasted and felt like they sat for days until disgustingly overcooked; gummy to the touch. The noodles came with just beef and broth ; to add vegtables cost 4 dollars. That honestly was way too steep for a few mushy zucchini and bell pepper slivers. As a man who proudly calls himself a member of the clean plate club; I must be honest and admit I couldn't bare more than a few bites of that babyfood. about 30 minutes later it seems my body couldn't handle it much either as I suffered indegestion and dirrhea all night following my brief meal at this restaurant.
