The pho (we got the rare "steak" one) was tasty, but not the most flavorful we've every had. Sounds like a funny thing to say, but I was really happy that they were willing to make me a mixed coconut and red bean smoothie (they had both flavors on the menu but not suggested as a combo, but I highly suggest this if you like these two things). If I could give negative stars I would. Visiting from out of town and Well I can't tell you how the food is because we walked in at 9:39, we're seated 1 table away from a live band, given menus and 2 glasses of water. Then ignored. After the first 15 min I thought I was just impatient because I was hungry, but when it hit 10:00 We walked out. I've never waited 21 minutes to speak to a waiter in a mostly EMPTY RESTAURANT. To add insult to injury a waiter and waitress walked right by us a few times, not once did they ask if we were being served, apologized, or even acknowledge that we were there. I've never gotten such bad service before. I'm surprised they even gave us the water. The most messed up thing about it is we specifically asked if they were closed, as my BF is a former waiter, we didn't want to show up when the kitchen is about to close. They close at 11pm on Friday nights. If they didn't want to serve us and were winding down for the night a smile and honesty would've been appreciated. What was the point of seating us just to not serve & ignore us? I've gone places that had subpar food. I've had rushed & unfriendly service. I've even had experience where I suspected racial discrimination. But this is the first time I've ever gotten NO SERVICE & completely ignored. Won't be giving them the opportunity to do this again. Worse service at this restaurant from the server (Sabrina) and manager. Will never come back. They weren't busy today; the server had an attitude; then when we tried to let the manager know of our dissatisfaction with the service, all he did was cut us off and refuse to listen. We had a party of 7 and they automatically charged tip. I usually don't mind as I always tip 18-20% for good service because it's a hard job. This time, we received bad service. My family and I usually like coming to this restaurant so we only intended to let them of our disappointment then pay the bill (including tip), but the response we received from the manager made the situation worse. BAD service is when: we have to ASK the server to take our order after she takes the order from the party that got seated AFTER us; grab our own hot soup from the end of the table because she doesn't place it in front of the person that ordered it; walk to the register to ask for condiments for our order: grab what we need off other tables because she doesn't come back; get more water after we are already done eating; sit and stare at her so she knows we're waiting for our bill. Then she doesn't ask how the party is splitting it, but rolls her eyes when I ask her to split it appropriately. That's NOT service. That's entitlement that you're getting your 18% tip automatically and feel like you don't have to care about service. According the manager, the waitress just taking our order and bringing the food to the table is "good" service. No, that's the person doing their job! Friendly staff and a great place to meet with friends. Food is good. We ordered mussels, but unfortunately they were cold. They were still tasty. I had the Pho special. The broth was delicious! Been here a lot but getting worse. Noticeable portion size decrease. Tried take out but don't seem to care about take out customers as it took 1 hour to complete my order and I think the only reason I got it was I complained 2 times and all they asked was if I paid . Came in here recently for a quick bite to eat to go. I was super impressed. I got the stir fry noodles with beef and it was delicious! My family and I have been to their Worcester location a couple of times several years ago. Each and every time, it was more disappointing that the previous visits. So when I found out that these were the same owners, I was pretty skeptical about it and had pretty low to no expectation for the taste and quality of the food. There is nothing better than a well made chicken Pho, and they give you just the right amount of sprouts, herbs and jalapeños to make it perfect to my tastes. We go out for Vietnamese all the time and it was our first time here. My first thought looking at the menu was that it's pricey!! It's a very typical Vietnamese menu with pho, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, appetizers, even bun xiao. There were 3 of us and we ordered the soft shell crab appetizer, bowl of pho, bbq pork chop with rice, and a vermicelli bowl with pork and spring rolls. Spent $46 and we ate ALL of it because the portions are so small. The pho portion was like a XS portion but we ordered the large. Terrible. I'm giving 3 stars because the food was good but it was more expensive than what I'm used to for Vietnamese and the portions were small. I'm going to Dorchester or Chinatown next time! read more

I've been going to this restaurant for years! I love the food! Everything is great with the exception of 1 waitress, Sabrina! Every time she waits on me and my family, it seriously makes me not want to return. She's horrible, and rude. As I asked for napkins today she walked away. Service was lacking but likely because the server was alone most of the time. She came to our table about two times and our drinks were never refilled. The vegetarian pho was all right. The vegetarian spring rolls were crispy and had a great taste to them. The milk teas claim to be dairy free and are not. Shouldn't be on the menu as dairy free as people have dairy allergies. Pho Dakao - Beef lemon grass - Vietnamese Near Me - Framingham, Massachusetts

Was there recently with a friend for dinner. Nothing we ordered tasted remotely like any other Vietnamese restaurant I have been to. And i have been to quite a few in Boston, NYC and San Francisco... Even the table sauces were odd. Peanut sauce tasted more like liquid peanut candy ( way too much sugar). Quality of meat was poor (Duck dish used a sliced up ( through the bone) drumstick. Scallops were clearly frozen, rubber and fishy tasting. Spring rolls were odd... instead of the typical two shrimp, the replaced one shrimp with a piece of dry chicken. Pad Thai ( which is clearly NOT a Vietnamese dish, was the best thing we ordered but unfortunately did not look or taste at all like a Pad Thai. On a positive note, the ambiance is nice for downtown framingham and the place appeared clean. Our waitperson, while friendly disappeared during our meal and never returned to see if we needed anything. I had been hopeful that this was going to be a great new addition to the Downtown Framingham area as I work nearby... and I kept trying to like the dishes we were served. Unfortunately, in the end, we couldn't even eat the duck or scallops and made our meal out of the surrounding vegetables. One last note, along with a number of other reviewers I suspect they use MSG rather liberally in their food. read more

Decent Vietnamese food (the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area). We had take out so I'm not sure if eating the food at the restaurant (getting it fresh from the kitchen) would have tasted better. I ordered the pho (ok), spring rolls both fresh and fried (didn't like both), fried chicken wings (ok), grilled pork with rice noodles, grilled chicken and bbq pork (also just ok). This is an excellent choice for a healthy, tasty vegetarian Pho (#64!!) in metrowest. The other Pho options look good as well. We've been here many times, both for eat-in and for take-out (they do let you order pho for take-out which is great if you're fighting a cold and need some hot soup). I love this restaurant! It has an amazing ambience. The interior is very comfortable, aesthetic, and also well designed. I really like the modern look of it. The Vietnamese restaurants I've been to before, have never paid much detail to appearance, which hasn't been a concern for me in rating their food, but nice decor can never hurt. The prices are also very affordable, and the menu is pretty comprehensive. There's also a bar. I also like how it's never been too crowded for me in there. Overall, after recently moving to Framingham, Pho Dakao is definitely my favorite Vietnamese restaurant around the area. The portions are a bit smaller, and I will say that it is a little bit of a hassle to park near the restaurant, but I think it's well worth it. read more
