Nice discovery on this part of Long Island. Always good finding good Viet food (so hard to find in ny!). Prices ofc are NY price points but they have nice sized servings here. The pho and rice vermicelli noodle dishes are on point and hit the spot when we were craving Viet takeout. Also order the pork spring rolls cuz that's what I do to gauge how authentic a Viet place is. If you mess up the spring rolls...well... Theirs are tasty although minus pts since they use spring roll wrappers instead of the authentic rice paper. The other minus was the ziploc baggies of bean sprouts and thai basil, they weren't super fresh. Otherwise, no complaints. We'll be back! read more

Love this place! Probably the best spot I've found since moving out to Long Island! But fair warning.. the prices is a bit steep and the portion size a little smaller than a typical viet restaurant. Everything we ordered was great. The dumplings came out hot and crispy. The pork/veggie inside was still moist and not dried out. The shrimp summer rolls was refreshing. The 2 bowls of pho we ordered was outstanding! The broth was flavorful and meats were very tender. But like I said, the portions is definitely less compared to a typical viet restaurant. So for a 18$ bowl of pho I was expecting a bigger size.. We even ordered the grilled pork chop rice dish to take home because everything was so great we wanted to try the rice dish as well. And that was delicious as well... but I think eating it there would have been better than take out. This restaurant exceeded my expectations for both the food and service . Food was fantastic and the service was great as well. From start to finish they were on top of everything and they made sure appetizers were finish before the entree. Service: Different. I have noticed that Foreign forward restaurants do not have the same quality of service as American ran restaurants. There aren't warm welcomes or check-ins on how your food is. The welcoming feeling was lacking in this place. I thought it was great that they give you an iPad to order your meal so that you can customize your dish but it takes so much longer for multiple people at the table since they only provide one tablet per table. Food: Pho Combination - Best pho that I've tried on the island so far. The difficult to achieve clear broth was flavorful and the meat selection was a decent size. The massive bowl of pho is too big for just one person to finish but I would definitely get this again when I am missing home. Pork Spring Rolls - Okay. They come out hot. I ordered the pho with brisket and the broth was saltier than I'm used to. It would also be more appealing if the bowl was smaller compared to the amount of noodles and soup you get. However, our food came out fast and the place itself is clean. The bathroom was also spacious and nice with some two-ply toilet paper! If you asked me when they first opened I would say 5 stars and expensive but worth it. Now they are super Stingy with food. $19 beef pho with only 5 small strips of beef if that. It was all broth and noddles. Vietnamese rolls were 4 small ones for $12. I did door dash. So a $40 lunch ( with tip) for nothing. Taste is there. But quantity is cheap. I will not order again. The food was delicious. My girlfriend and I had the beef noodle pho! And it was cooked perfectly. Seasoning was just right and not with MSG which I can tell because my stomach would get upset. Visited this spot after an appointment for lunch and during COVID-19. Seating outside only and although they took my order at the make shift window or speaker system there are signs all over that they prefer for orders to be called in. No bathroom access at all and asking for extra napkins (I ordered 2 appetizers and 3 meals, close to $70 order), and soy sauce was a chore. I was literally given 3 napkins. The food was great. We all loved it. Restaurants in the immediate vicinity have bathroom access. Pho Fans had two table settings, comfortable but I could imaginéis limited during more peak times. Right now this is great if you don't care for scenery (outdoor mall setting) and just prefer to take food to go. And I hope you don't have to use the restroom. Oh almost forgot to mention. They had no bread today so the entire sandwich section was not available for ordering and we weren't informed until after looking over and deciding for 10 minutes. read more

Wow this pho place hits the spot every time I'm in the area. Clean and nicely decorated place with friendly, efficient service. Hot tea was provided as soon as we sat down. We ordered two apps - fried oysters (great flavor) and the summer roll, which was fresh and a much healthier option than the latter... if you care about that (diet starts tomorrow, right?) The broth was flavorful, and I love how they provide spicy sauces on the side for spice lovers like myself. The noodles had just the right amount of bite to it and the meat wasn't chewy! We enjoyed their Thai iced tea and the Vietnamese drip coffee, which was my favorite of the two. It's made with condensed milk and had a rich flavor. Pho? Long island? Yes way! Pho fans is the way to go. Look, realistically speaking, the only other place that is close by is Casa Saigon which is 20 min down the road, so naturally they are going to get compared to one another. Casa Saigon has gotten comfortable in their niche, but that has been working against their favor. Pho fan is coming in hot though. We ordered the shrimp summer rolls (in the middle of winter... w/e dont judge), grill chicken breast, beef combination pho. Shrimp summer roll was pretty nice. Im used to a vegetarian summer roll. It was minty and light. A nice peanut sauce was included which was a heavier savory contrast to the dish which was a cool touch. The grilled chicken is very similar to chicken satay and was served with a sweetened rice vinegar. Very delicious. A tad bit over prices for a small piece of chicken you are given, but if you are looking for something flavorful The main event. The beef combination pho. First off the portion size is large. The broth is very meaty, well seasoned, and delicious. Many of the low ranking reviewers say otherwise, but i had a really bold broth. Now disclaimer. The beef balls here has tendons in it. On top of that there is tendons throughout the dish. So if you are not into the tendon/cartilage (slightly chewy and bouncy) texture i would suggest you steer clear of this dish and get a dish with no tendons in it. Overall an amazing dish. Definitely will be my go to when i go here. Staff was super friendly. I had a hard time operating the app, and i think they had a hard time with it too. Honestly, they should just go back to taking orders by hand. I turned in 2 orders and my drinks lost in translation at one point, and i ordered 2 of the same dish and only one came out. It could have been a user error (most likely), or a tech error. Either way, this probably could have been avoided if they just took my order by hand. read more

I would rate Pho Fans four and a half stars. We kept our order simple and classic. We started with a summer roll and then shared a bahn mi. The summer roll was a big portion and came with a superb peanut sauce. I'd highly recommend the summer roll as an appetizer. The bahn mi was solid too. Again, a very reasonable portion. I was pleased to see how clean the tables looked and the waiters were very kind and sat me immediately. I started with shrimp summer rolls with peanut sauce and it was very fresh and good. I did use the peanut sauce but switched to Hoisin sauce as it was also very good. Went with girlfriends after a hike and had a good experience. The summer roll was nicely balanced. The vermicelli noodles was light and didn't taste grainy. The round eye beef in the pho was fresh. The broth was clear and wasn't overly salted. One of the best pho broths around. They gave us basil with the sprouts! Many other pho restaurants started cutting corners by omitting the Thai basil. I was so excited for another Vietnamese restaurant to be opening and boy was i highly disappointed. They have the fancy ipad ordering system. My friend and i ordered 2 phos, a drink, and spring rolls. The service wasn't great. We had to keep flagging down servers. We got our pho and still didn't get the ice tea we ordered so we had to ask again. By the time we were 3/4 done with the pho and the spring rolls still didnt arrive so i asked them to cancel it. The pho broth was one of the worse i have ever had. It definitely did not taste like a pho broth. The portions were nice and big but that broth sucked! Finally we asked for the check and we noticed they still charged us for spring rolls we never received! We were looking for a place to eat pho at we wound up at Pho Fans. It's tucked in a strip mall in Smithtown. It's a little small but nicely decorated and very clean. The food was wonderful and served quickly. You order from a tablet. I guess it's a thing nowadays but I prefer get a real menu.
