Sup is one of the ONLY good Asian cuisine near Stony Brook University. They have an amazing lunch deal every weekday from opening till 3pm that includes a drink, appetizer, and main (pho or rice) for $17. Their drinks are okay as they tasted watered down however the apps and pho are delicious! I would recommend getting the summer rolls which always taste fresh. The service was great and sometimes there is a short 5-15 minute wait during lunch time.

Food: I love the food at Sup! Here are my recommendations: - pork chop over rice: really big portion of meat and corns with tasty pickles radish and carrot (5/5) - papaya salad: refreshing and I love the texture of the papaya and mango. The acidic lime hits the spot (5/5) - Thai iced tea: YUM!! Perfect amount of sweetness. - bang bang chicken salad: I love how it's crispy but also hearty with poached chicken. The crispy garlic and fried onions are crunchy and balanced out with vegetables such as cucumber and lettuce (4/5) - green tea ice cream (4/5) Service: the waiters are so kind! I went here for my friends birthday and they gifted us a dessert on the house! Ambiance: there's a great ambiance! Clean and beautifully decorated with florals. The eating area is clean. Overall, I am a regular at Sup. It's also very affordable if you come here for the lunch special! You can get a beverage, appetizer, and main dish all for 16 dollars. However, the portion is not the full portion you would get if you were to order it separately.

Delicious food, great lunch special, super fast service (I was in and out in 20 minutes). Healthy food, cute restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Great for Stony Brook students or anyone in the area!

food is delicious here I've never eaten Vietnamese food before and I went here for a work lunch with my colleagues we all enjoyed it. The lunch menu was very reasonably priced. The chicken wings were so delicious. Honestly, some of the best I've ever had. I don't usually like bone in wings, but these were amazing drinks. Very delicious too and the chicken pho was very delicious. Only thing lacking is the weight staff attitudes I think sometimes they come off a little rude, but maybe not intentional because they are close to the university.

Honestly, I can't think of a single criticism. Great service. Food is tasty and well portioned. Vibe is immaculate. Menu is modern and not common for our area. In a sea of typical pub grub and friend food, this place stands out as above the fray. Don't miss it.

Date night brought my boyfriend and I here tonight! We've both never had pho, so this was a new experience for us. To start, we both had watermelon juice. It was so delicious and refreshing. For an appetizer we had Vietnamese Sunmer Rolls. They were very fresh and yummy! The peanut sauce that accompanied them for dipping was very good as well. For our entrees I had Pho Ga which was a chicken broth with grilled chicken and noodles. My boyfriend had Pho Sizzle which was a beef broth topped with grilled ribeye steak and noodles. Both were so good and flavorful. Service and ambiance were great. We agreed that we would come back and we are adding this to our rotation of places we go to. For everything including tax and tip it came to $75, which is very reasonable! 5 stars!

We were looking for a nice spot to eat before dropping off family at Stony Brook. I was so excited when I saw a Pho restaurant! Food: 5/5 I really enjoyed the bowls of pho we ordered and their rib special. It was a great dish to split with few people while they had their own dishes to dig into. My favorite dish was that special because it felt the cost for the dish was great value. They gave a significant amount of meat some lettuce and picked radish for texture. Very tasty! Service: 5/5 The waiter was very nice and great at recommending item on the menu. Like they recommended a tea we could try and it was delicious. They were also great at explaining the menu to my friends new to pho. Also, since some of friends had the dietary restrictions, they were super accommodating and get a suggesting alternatives. Really great service. All in all, it was a great experience! I would definitely go back if I am nearby. I had no idea such a nice place was so close to the university.

We got there close to closing time (around 8:30 pm?) but the sat us right away and got us going. Get the chicken wings. Definitely get the chicken wings. They're filled with umami flavor, with a crispy exterior and the juiciest meat. That set things off to a great start to our dinner. I'd skip the spring rolls, unless you're craving them intensely. The pho was delicious, with a deep soup flavor, like they make it in-house. The spicy basil fried rice was presented in a pineapple, which I thought was pretty cute but not very functional. I saw a lunch special (~$15 for 1 drink, 1 appetizer and 1 entree), which I think is a GREAT deal. I'll probably come back for that.

What the cake was supposed to look like. The packaging we wanted to keep so we can take some good pictures with the cake :(

When it was 6:30 and we haven't arrived at our 6:30 reservation, they called us saying they'll give up our seats if we didn't make it any sooner. We then arrived in 3 minutes and they said they didn't give up our seats, but we had to wait another 20 min to be seated. So they didn't prepare for us like at all because they kept running around saying they had a reservation for 7:30 for 10 people. Why are you preparing so early for them and couldn't even hold a 5 people table bruh. Why say you prepared (or didn't give up our seats) when you clearly did? Also, we went to celebrate a friend's BIRTHDAY. We handed over a nicely boxed birthday cake and asked them to put it in the fridge. The person who took it TOPPLED THE CAKE OVER THE COUNTER and it ONLY remained undamaged because my friend CAUGHT IT in time. Then, after the long wait, we finally got seated. The server then said they'll provide us with water, which never came. We took 10 minutes to pick out the food, and by then, the water didn't come. The water only ca when we reminded the waiter TWICE! Also, the food took another 30 minutes to come. While serving the food, the waiter also mixed up our orders (pho king as pho nam). Like what if we had a allergy towards a specific food? Next, after the food, we asked them to bring the cake out. For some weird reason, they took the cake out, took off the wrapper, and put the candles on without asking us first? Okay, maybe they do it for all costumers, fine, but whoever took off the wrapper did it in such a bad way, at least 5 parts of the whipped cream on the cake came off with the wrapper. IDK about that person, but when I took the wrapper off my birthday cake (because in the restaurant I went to, the workers allowed me my own moment to put on the candles and unwrap the cake), it resembled the original so much. For my poor friend, so many spots of whipped cream came off because the server didn't handle it with care. Imagined someone ruined your birthday because they didn't bother to take 3 extra seconds to carefully unwrap the wrapper. Afterwards, we talked to the manager because we were upset about the cake, and he kept on insisting it was our fault because we didn't specify. LIKE WHAT? We're the costumer, you guys are responsible for serving! Shouldn't you ask what we want to do with the cake?????? Do you serve us any food without asking us what we want??????? We only told you to put it in the fridge and take it out. When did we say, take it out, unwrap it, and stick the candles on it however you would want????? ^I attached an original pic of the cake and what the cake eventually looked like. it was in detrimental condition and nobody apologized for it until after we brought it up. Only the waiter came and said sorry. The manager didn't even apologize and prob thought we were karens or something. The restaurant does provide a free dessert for birthdays, and the first waiter said we could pick whatever dessert, but the waiter who then took the order didn't even let us finish our sentence before giving us two tiny scoops of ice cream. When we got the receipt, we saw that they charged us a gratuity fee. We had 5 people, and gratuity fees usually apply for at least 6 people. Even if it's a birthday, they messed every thing up so badly, I couldn't believe they bothered. AND WORST OF ALL, THEY CHARGED US WRONG! We ordered 3 pho nam and 2 pho king. They charged us 2 pho nam and 3 pho king. Unfortunately, we only realized it after we got back. Even though the difference is $1, it's still scary to believe how a restaurant can make so many mistakes in one day. I really hope they take the time to train works on 1) how to recognize the dishes that they're serving, 2) how to ask costumers on what they would like before doing still without permission (aka whatever happened to the cake), and 3) to be extra careful always.

THIS PLACE COMBINED THE NOODLES WITH THE BEAN SPROUTS AND LIME!!! You are not supposed to do that! You are always supposed to package them separately. On top of that, the pho broth lacked a lot of depth of flavor. Also, pho is supposed to come with tripe, eye of round, beef ball, which this pho had none of. Bun bo hue is supposed to be spicy and have pig blood, which this one didn't. It was also not flavorful and was just lacking. The egg rolls also did not taste right and the fish sauce was off. I'm very disappointed with my experience here. This is not an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Long Island.

My wife told me about this place she liked by her nail salon. She'd stop in for a Vietnamese coffee…read moreand a Spring Roll before her appointment. My niece is home for Summer recess and she said for her birthday she'd like to go to her favorite spot, The Rolling Spring Roll. I've been to this location before and ordered the Banh Mi sandwich, it's always my go to at any Vietnamese restaurant. I had plans to order the same sandwich but my other niece said I should try her favorite, the Angus Beef Short Ribs platter. I'm into a new dish, sold! I ordered the Angus Beef Short Ribs platter with vermicelli noodles. For the table we ordered the famous Shrimp Spring Rolls as well as chicken wings. Both dishes came out fast, very fresh and enough to share. I guess there was a mix up in the kitchen, My rib platter came with rice and my sister in laws dish had the vermicelli noodles. Not a big deal, I didn't feel like swapping items. The Short Ribs had a terrific marinade and they were grilled to perfection. This was a nice treat to eat. I was noticing the other customers, they are all just in the zone getting their Rolling Spring Roll fix. This is more of a casual eatery, like a pizza place. Zip in and zap out, no tablecloths at this spot. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food. My niece was happy so that makes me happy. I would love to try their Vietnamese coffee!
