Service was super fast and efficient, and the restaurant seems very well run. There's a small parking lot in front, and we got lucky enough to grab a spot as someone was leaving. We ordered the Com Tam #40 and Banh Beo, and the biggest thing that stood out to me was the portion sizes. They are MASSIVE. These are probably some of the biggest portions I've personally seen at a Vietnamese restaurant, especially for the price. Even looking around at the soups and other dishes people were ordering, everything seemed consistently huge. We definitely ordered too much food for two people! The Com Tam was pretty good overall. I especially enjoyed the tau hu ky and cha, and the soup on the side was really tasty too. The thit nuong was good, although I've had versions I personally prefer elsewhere. It might not be the best com tam I've ever had, but I do think it's one of the best options in the area and a very solid choice if you're craving it. The Banh Beo was also good and came on a much larger plate than I'm used to, although I've had more memorable banh beo at other spots. Nothing we had was bad by any means, and I enjoyed the meal overall. I had a great experience at Com Tam Kieu and would absolutely come back. Next time I really want to try one of their soups, and I'll definitely be much more prepared for how generous the portions are!

Only downside is the line and to be honest, I would not stand in line for this restaurant but my aunt really wanted to come here for the bun mam. Which also ironically she didn't even get to eat it this time around because they only offer it on Saturdays and Sundays. FYI - Go to the other location on Garvey if you want bun mam. Authentic Northern Chinese flavors that isn't like your usual bowl, which almost always consists of light beefy and slightly acidic flavors. However, this bowl is super rich in tomato (I thought it didn't sound right because tomatos are typically acidic but it's just tastes so right) prominent beef flavor in the soup (+ more) that's incredibly comforting to enjoy whether you're sick, cold, hot, etc. I'd recommend the standard noodles btw. Price to Portion proportions are so good that your bar for beef noodle soup(s) will increase. Please don't come at me if I overhyped it, I love this restaurant's bns that much.

Lamb Noodle Soup - 4.5/5. So far, the standout for me is definitely the Lamb Noodle Soup. The broth is excellent - clean, rich, and flavorful without any gamey taste. The flavors are well-balanced and comforting without being too heavy or overpowering. I chose the knife-shaved noodles, which were cut with impressive precision and cooked almost al dente, giving them a satisfying chew. They were slightly starchy for my taste, but still enjoyable overall. The lamb itself was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a texture that's honestly difficult to execute well, but they nailed it. Steamed dumplings - 2.5/5. On the other hand, the dumplings were a bit underwhelming. They weren't bad, just fairly average compared to the noodle soup. The wrappers leaned a little too doughy, and the filling could have used more seasoning and flavor to really stand out. Overall, I'd definitely return - both for another bowl of that fantastic Lamb Noodle Soup and to explore more of the Shanxi specialties on the menu.

I can't believe Lee's Garden has been here since 1984!!! I think my family have been coming here…read moresoon after they opened but have not been back in awhile. To my surprise, it's the same boss still sitting up front reading the newspaper in between customers. I asked him if he plans to hand the business over to his kids but was told that they don't want to run a restaurant and that it's very hard work (sad but true). Made me think of that Donut King documentary. Always been a fan and most people come here for the combo meals which are tasty and reasonably priced but this was my original go to place for Taiwanese snacks (xiao che). Got some xiao che to go and it was a nice stroll down memory lane.

The sesame Chinese pancake was out of the world with the layers of "man tou" like dough that was dense but not heavy and had a pleasantly chewy center. We had the dan dan noodles as well with the handmade thick noodles. The handmade noodles were al dente and had the perfect chew. The sauce was a bit sweet, but overall decent.
