    #9 Pho Ga (L) $13.99
    Erik G.

What We Ordered: -#9 Pho Ga (L) $13.99 -#12 Pho Nam (L) $13.99 My wife wanted pho, so we decided to try Pho Ga District since it was close by and my friend Cindy S. gave it a good review. Parking was a bit tough in the strip mall, but we found a spot on the side street. The restaurant was busy for a weekday lunch, but we were seated right away. I ordered the Pho Ga, but I wasn't impressed with the bone-in chicken; it was soft and rubbery, almost undercooked. The staff was friendly and helpful though. My wife ordered the #12 Pho Nam, and she loved the tender and flavorful beef. While we didn't enjoy the Pho Ga, we would definitely return for the Pho Nam. I'm still on the hunt for the best pho in the SGV! Hit me up with recommendations!

Was craving some pho, so ate here with my wife recently. I prefer beef pho so I didn't get the Pho Ga (but my wife did). Overall, the Pho was great, and so was the service. Great Broth. The ambiance is no thrills, but totally fine for a pho place in the SGV. Note: Smaller parking lot in a shared plaza. We had to park a little outside the plaza

My go to place for chicken pho and chicken rice. I usually get boneless chicken with dark meat.

We came to Pho Ga District on a Friday evening and found parking easily in the plaza. The restaurant wasn't too busy, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We tried the Gai Du Du Cho Bo (green papaya & beef salad) and the Banh Cuon (steamed rice rolls with shrimp). The salad had a slightly sweet dressing but overall a nice balance of flavors. The rice rolls were a bit watery and fell apart easily, but still enjoyable. A great spot to explore some lesser-known Vietnamese dishes -- worth checking out if you're looking for something different.

This place has the most pure, clean, clear chicken broth soup base I know of in a noodle restaurant, simple but flavorful. Clear broth, chicken on the bone (or boneless breast cuts, your choice) and rice noodles. No frills homestyle flavor. They have a small menu centered mostly around their chicken, you can order it whole or half with noodles on the side, or a standard bowl of chicken pho ga. Hainan style chicken rice and some Vietnamese mainstays such as egg rolls, beef pho, and bun cuon round out their menu. The staff is attentive and always refilling drinks, adding condiments, and cleaning. They don't do dinner service so check their hours before going and parking is tight as it is a small shared lot with other businesses but worth the visit.

One of the best chicken pho in the SGV! The broth was very rich, almost tasted like drinking a clean rotisserie chicken. It was hearty without making you feel too heavy. They were very generous with bean sports... that were boiled! Can always appreciate when the bean sprouts are cooked. It's a casual mom and pop shop with quick service for a nice and affordable lunch. Came for lunch on Saturday at 11:30 and got seated right away. By 12pm, the restaurant was packed and there was a waitlist starting.

Five stars for the chicken! It's a really small place, very friendly service and food was quick to come out. I got the chicken broth soup and my dad got the Hainan chicken rice. Both were delicious, highly recommend it. Please note the Hainan chicken is cold tho. Prices are average but parking is horrible. You can try to park on the street if the lot is full but it is a dead end narrow street. Not the best place for a meet up with friends due to limited space but amazing for a quick and comforting bite.

A little hole in the wall place that gets quite busy on the weekends. I came for the bahn cuon surprisingly, and it did not disappoint! My husband ordered a hai nan chicken that came with a delicious chicken broth, and I see why their main star here is the chicken. The chicken was juicy, tender, and that side broth had so much natural chicken flavor it was insane! I will definitely return to try their namesake dish.

Came here right at 10am when they opened on a Wednesday, and I was surprised that there was a good bit of people in here. It's not a large restaurant at all, and as people have mentioned parking is very limited. I ordered the Pho Ga as well as the Banh Cuon, The Pho came out very quickly and it wasn't the biggest bowl I thought it was fair. I normally don't eat pho ga but beef pho or pho tai (which they also have). However, instantly very impressed as it was super clean broth with a great chicken flavor. They allow you to get boneless or bone in chicken I opted for boneless. Banh cuon was pretty good. My mom gave it a 8.5/10. Overall, great experience the servers were really nice could speak English and Cantonese.

Pho ga boneless with fresh (wider) noodles, really fantastic broth!
    Jonathan W.

This is certainly the best pho ga option in the SGV: very friendly staff (that can speak Cantonese and Mandarin in addition to English and Vietnamese), the broth is very comforting, and the sauces to dip the chicken are the perfect accompaniment. I only wish there was a congee option on the menu!

I've passed by this restaurant a few times before but never dined here until last night. Service: We were seated right away and given some cups of water. I also noticed the waiters all stand by the cashier area so it's very easy to get their attention. Food: We ordered a half chicken, a large plain noodle soup, a banh cuon, and egg rolls. The chicken and noodle soup came out so fast. I like how they have sauces on the table so you can help yourself. I was not a fan of how they chopped the chicken because some pieces of bones were so tiny that I almost accidentally swallowed. The noodle soup was so good though. I can see myself finishing a whole bowl in the winter. I wasn't a fan of the banh cuon but my fiancé really liked it. The egg rolls were so hot and crispy. It actually came out last so we were busy eating everything else before we started eating them but they were still very very hot. Parking: They share a small parking lot with the other stores in the strip mall. A lot of the parking spaces are reserved for other stores. Also the parking spots are tight. Overall a very decent pho ga restaurant. I will definitely be back.

Decent chicken pho. My family loves their steamed whole chicken that we like to get to-go. The steamed chicken's meat is a tougher texture and it reminds my family of the chicken back in Cambodia because the chickens here in America are more plump but have a softer texture.

Large pho ga, boneless chicken, medium wide rice noodles
    Vivian L.

Best pho ga near me so far. Service is quick and friendly. Pho ga was perfectly done. I really enjoy the medium wide rice noodles. It's soft and slurpy. I like their sauces on the side to dip my chicken or to spruce up my broth. My favorite was ginger with the spicy soy. Simple and comforting of a meal. Pho ga is not as heavy as beef pho, but in a good way~ much lighter and clean tasting Lastly, my Thai tea was just filled with ice to the brim (like some places...) and not too sweet. It was perfect :) A pretty busy lunch spot, but tables move quickly. Support this small shop if you're a fan of chicken pho!

The 4 of us especially liked the white fish with basil and the shrimp with snow peas. The rice noodles with seafood and the kung pao were also good. That said, we like our food spicier, so we asked for chili oil and limes. Some dishes did have vegetables, but when I go again I'll order a vegetable dish. Service was stellar - personal, but never intrusive. I liked that we were seated immediately and still given time for our late guests to arrive. Food arrived quickly once we ordered. They were gracious about splitting the tab afterwards, but could easily have asked whether we wanted separate checks since we were 3 unrelated sets of adults that arrived separately. So, what could have been better? The chafing spoons were too small and too few, leaving us to pull the chafing plate to the edge of the lazy Susan and scrape. My dinner plate was too small, so I made a bit of a mess while eating. The main room is noisy, even with some empty tables, Next time I'll ask for a table in the quiet section (to the right when coming in the main door.) I've driven past Newport Seafood many times and not gone in because the parking lot was already full, and it's not my style to park elsewhere and walk over. However, on Monday at 5 PM, we found ample parking. All that said, Newport Seafood seemed at its best when serving special meals to large families all around us. I will think of them next time we celebrate a special family occasion.

Tip: 1 Duck platter order per 8-10ppl is typical (don't get scammed for more) unless you're a foreigner who doesn't share dishes (joke of ordering 1 steam fish for their 1 dish for themself). Duck and Five-Color with Mung Bean Noodle Salad are musts. Best for groups. Overall a decent group dinner place due to price and quality (excellent service, higher quality/cleaner processed food). Is it the best Northern food? No, but decent in Chinese food and priced well which makes this place a repeatable place. But it's not northern chinese food taste. "Depends on people but there was a small group that ordered 2, and then a group of 12 that ordered just one." For Chinese banquet style, usually 1 duck order per 8-10ppl is fine. It's like 1 birthday cake for 1 party table. - Ordering lobster dish ($200+$20 noodles) requires ordering early. We were able to order one at 1140amish for our 5pmish Saturday night dinner. We feels it's good to order for 8ppl+. - 2hr dining time limit. Musts - Five-Color with Mung Bean Noodle Salad: Doesn't taste like how it should but guess they tried? - Duct platter is good. For a party of 8ppl, most ppl will be able to grab at least 1-2 which is enough since there's other dishes too. Dinner for 8ppl (over ordered, and ordered via more meat due to meat heavy eater orderer for our group). I would have ordered more veggies (next visit). 1 北京烤鴨 (荷葉餅,配料) $95.00 Roasted Peking Duck 1 加荷叶饼 Extra Pancakes $7.00 (no buns were offered here). 1 鸭汤 Duck Soup $19.98 - Comes with tofu and cabbage in it. It's light, and good to have so you don't need to order a different soup. It's okay though. 1 六福大拼盘 Six Fortune Platter $48.98 - Center jelly fish was the star. Most eaters on my table talked about it. I was pretty happy with gluten, and pate type meat slice. Everything else was okay. This might be good for a party of 10ppl instead. I don't see it as a mist for our party of 8ppl. 1 五彩大拉皮 Five-Color with Mung Bean Noodle Salad $18.98 - Mix yourself. I usually eat this dish with a lot of the spicy mustard (like horseradish/wasabi) in it. But it's nice they have it on the side for each person's spicy level? I dont think I've ever eaten it with vinegar oil? I loved this dish as a kid for Northern cuisine. Unfortunately, this dish isn't to par. But okay enough. This dish is usually a must order/staple appetizer from northern cuisine restaurants. 1 梅菜扣肉 Steamed Pork Belly with Preserved Vegetables $22.98 - Not for me. 1 牙签孜然羊肉 Cumin Lamb on Toothpicks $25.98 - Done well. My SO loved it. Typical Northern western Chinese protein and dish. A dish that's become a typical bar food dish around 626. 1 西汁核桃虾 Crispy Walnut Shrimp $18.98 - Remember this isn't a canto restaurant. So this style is not the same from cafes, or canto seafood restaurants. Really good deal for the amount they have us. 1 葱油鱼片 Fish Fillet with Scallion Oil $24.98 - Particular texture. I love fish, but for some reason, this texture really confuses me. Like eating raw skin crunching fish? I just have to get used to it? Or I'm just the anomaly in this one. 1 招牌黑椒龙虾 Signature Black Pepper Lobster 5.50 lb @$35.00/lb $192.50 -加伊面 Add Noodle $20.00 Lobster 5.50lbs. This one was pepper vs Canto oil style. They'll ask you when ordering your food. That was the smallest lobster they had. Next one would be a 6lb lobster instead. 1 木耳山药 Black Fungus with Chinese Yam $18.98 - My type of dish. Light and healthier. 1 热水 Hot Water $0.00 1 茉莉花茶 Jasmine Tea $9.98 (pot worth) 8 冰水 Ice Water $0.00 Items in interested in trying next time with a group whose okay with dishes I usually go for - - Garlic shredded eel $32.48 (OR Spicy Stir-fried Pork)  - Special Shredded Pancake (OR Kurobuta Pork Meat Pie $14ish, Chive Pancakes, Chive Turnovers). - more vegetable heavy dishes. Service was amazing. Multiple plate changes, and ice water refills.

There are a few Canto cafés around here, but this one is definitely one of our favorites. Dim sum is pretty easy to find, but authentic Cantonese cafés are much more of a rare find. The lower reviews are probably due to the service, but in my opinion, a truly authentic Cantonese restaurant should have questionable service because that's exactly what you get at the good places in Hong Kong. The philosophy in Hong Kong is basically "food over service." If they're being too nice, they're probably overcompensating for something haha. Getting either the hot or iced milk tea or lemon tea is a MUST. It's the traditional way to do it, and they even offer unlimited refills! Just be warned that you might not sleep that night because Hong Kong-style tea is no joke when it comes to caffeine. Pro tip: If you get the lemon tea, you have to crush the lemons into the tea to get the right flavor! My friends and I are regulars here. They're open late, and the ambiance is so fun, with tables decorated with mahjong tiles and neon lights that basically scream Asia. The food is top tier and, in my opinion, some of the best Cantonese food you'll find in the U.S. Our go-to orders are the tomato baked rice dishes, stir-fried vegetables, 3-cup dishes, and brisket curries. For something sweet, we always share the classic Cantonese French toast with peanut butter inside or one of the pineapple buns. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for an authentic Canto café experience! :)

I came here a few nights ago when the hot pot spot I wanted to eat at was packed and I didn't want to wait. I decided to try HK Macau Bistro instead since I low key wanted to have baked pasta. Restaurant was packed but I was able to be seated right away. I ordered the following dishes: - Baked Fish Fillet with Cream Sauce / Pasta - 8/10. This was really good. The melted cheese on top made this dish so delicious! - Chicken (Half) - 7/10 - This was good but it just tasted like any the chicken at any other place. - Chinese greens - 7/10 - This was okay. Preferred stronger flavors as this tasted kind of bland. - Curry Beef Stew / Tendons - 9/10 - Very tender! I liked this a lot! Would definitely order again! Lemon Iced Tea was yummy! Service was good. Restaurant was clean. Love the H.K. Vibe.

OMG! If you're craving some REALLY good lobster and want to get your money's worth, Boston Lobster…read moreis definitely worth trying! I came here with a friend, just the two of us, and the portions were HUGE. We ordered a lobster that was around 3-4 pounds, and the lobster is priced per pound. I believe we had the Boston Lobster House Special, and we added the noodles for about $10 extra. Let me tell you and it did NOT disappoint. The lobster was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely mouthwatering. The noodles soaked up all that flavor from the lobster and seasoning, and everything together was just delicious. I kept wanting to eat even though I was already getting full! It is a little pricey, especially depending on the size of the lobster you choose, but they give you A LOT of food. There were only two of us, and we each had enough food left over to take home and have another full meal. Honestly, the amount we ordered could have easily fed four people. We also had the shrimp fried rice, which was delicious, and even the lemon iced tea was really good. I wanted to try more things, but there was absolutely no way, we already had so much food! This is definitely more of a family-style dining experience. In my opinion, this isn't your typical quick Chinese food spot or chain restaurant. The quality, freshness, portions, and overall experience put Boston Lobster on another level. I also loved the atmosphere. We sat near the live seafood tanks, so you can actually see the lobsters and other seafood in the tanks, which added to the experience. They also have their own private parking lot with two-hour parking, which is a huge plus. We didn't have reservations and were able to get seated, but I could definitely see this place getting crowded, so reservations may be helpful during busier times. For me, Boston Lobster is easily FIVE STARS. If you're in the Rosemead area looking for delicious Asian seafood and some seriously good lobster, I definitely recommend it. Just make sure you come HUNGRY!

They kept switching out our plates whenever they got filled with empty shells, so we always had a clean plate. The inside was also pretty nice, and you can see all the fish and lobsters in the tanks. Overall, it was a great experience! Definitely on the pricier side, but we had a good time and the food and service made it worth it. Food was everything we expected! We got: Steamed turbo fish 10/10 - it was really flavorful and the ginger and onions on top was an amazing touch. Clams w basil - was very good and fresh. We couldn't stop eating it 10/10 House special lobster - was fire!! It was very easy to take out the shell and it was so tasty. Would definitely recommend! 100/10 French beef - not the star of the show but still was really flavorful! 9/10 Sour soup - it was a good soup and tasted like all the other sour soup nothing too special :) 8/10 Ong choy - we needed some vegetable on the table and steamed ong choy w garlic was really good and refreshing. 10/10 Fried rice - matched w everything we were eating 9/10
