I've been here for a good handful of times now, and just wanted to say the food and the staffs are really amazing. Been wanting to write a review about it. This plaza has gotten a lot more popular in the recent few years, which made the parking lot very challenging, given how small the parking lot. But worth it for visiting an excellent authentic Vietnamese restaurant such as this establishment. The restaurant itself is cozy. A lot of open ventilations. Floor to ceiling glass window for wall that opens up for air and breeze, which honestly makes dining in quite more enjoyable. Something I don't know how many people realize. It's busy enough to be lively, but not too crazy enough for a long wait. At least not personally every time. Hats off to the chef, owner, and the staffs for making this business fun and enjoyable. I don't know the name of the owner, who I believe goes around and checks on the customers every time I visit. Also, another staff, Marie, who always serves my friends and I, is one amazing person! Very engaging and fun to interact with! One of the best employee (sorry if you are actually one of the managers) I ever met. I actually don't need to say anything much about the food because everything I've tried was great! You can't go wrong with anything at this place. Summer Rolls third location/concept. This location serves the iconic nem rolls and all other classic from the original location. This location does serve alcoholic drinks. Nem rolls - iconic, flavorful, warm, delicious. You can't go wrong with ordering this Banh Hoi plate - basically a deconstructed spring roll without rice paper. You use lettuce to make a roll instead. Banh mi - made with a bread roll kinda bread instead of a baguette. The different bread was nice and soft but yet still kind of crispy. We've been visiting this restaurant since it first opened, and the gentleman who appears to be the owner has always been friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a completely different experience. A woman, who also seems to be an owner and is usually behind the counter, approached the table next to ours even though we had arrived first and the restaurant was empty at that time.She stood between our tables with her back toward us instead of facing the customers she was speaking with, which made us feel ignored and disrespected while she was being very friendly to the other table. After taking their order, she never came over to greet us or take our order. We waited for a while, then decided to leave. No customer should be made to feel unwelcome like that. We also noticed an unusual odor when we walked in, and compared with other restaurants serving the same cuisine, the food here is no longer as good as it used to be. To the lady: Please remain professional. The restaurant business is built on hospitality and treating every customer with respect. The summer rolls here are great! Some of the best I've had in the SGV region. They're quite big and are filled to the max with ingredients. 10/10! Also had their Pork Shoulder Rice plate. Worth the Parking Struggle! The only downside to trying this new spot? The parking! We thought Summer Rolls in Temple City had a rough parking situation... this one somehow topped it! We're huge Summer Rolls fans, so I've been wanting to try this place since it opened, and tonight was finally the night! #36 Charbroiled Pork Shoulder with Shrimp Cake & Shredded Pork $16.50 Rating: 9/10 Let me tell you... the char on this pork was phenomenal! It had that beautiful smoky flavor that only comes from perfectly grilled meat. Huge kudos to the chef because this was honestly one of the best charbroiled pork dishes I've had. Not too much fat in it, so it was perfect. But can we also take a moment to appreciate the broken rice? I'm usually not the biggest rice dish person because most places simply serve regular steamed rice... but this broken rice? It could honestly un-break a broken heart. It was light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. It paired so perfectly with that smoky pork that I found myself finishing every last grain without even realizing it. And one more thing... BEWARE of the spicy sauté sauce! I repeat... do NOT scoop a giant spoonful onto your rice or your Bún Bò Huế like I confidently did with my 2 spoonfuls of rice since we were sharing! Our friends recommended this place. We saw the size of the plates on the tables around and decided that the two of us could share one plate and add on sour pork summer rolls. We got #38- charbroiled lemongrass chicken, steamed egg with minced pork and shredded pork skin. Super yummy! It was just enough for both of us - with the summer roll. Such a yummy meal! My friend and I got the Nem Nuong Summer Rolls (for 2) and the Ban Xeo. Definitely a lot of food for just the two of us, but we finished it with full bellies. The Ban Xeo was so delish and crispy. It also had a good amount of seafood! The Nem Nuong was also good, but nothing you can't get anywhere else. The SGV might not be as blessed as the OC when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants, but Nem is a great addition! The family who runs it is super sweet. My table ordered the bahn mi and the filet mignon pho. Bahn mi was great. The ciabatta bread was a nice twist: no way you can cut the roof of your mouth with this softer bread. The runny egg added a nice extra layer of flavor. Filet mignon pho - my friend who ordered it is a pho fiend. She really enjoyed it and said it was a solid bowl of pho. My hubby and I arrived at 5:30 pm on July 3rd (Friday). We got lucky that there was a table available and we were seated right away. In a short while, the place was packed and not a single table was empty. We both ordered the bun cha - mine was the charbroiled pork and his was the charbroiled beef. This dish is a cold vermicelli salad with lettuce, bean sprouts, carrots, cucumber, Thai basil, two pieces of shrimp egg roll, shrimp cake and crushed peanuts. Each order was $16. When our order arrived, we were shocked to see two pieces of grilled sausages, instead of actual pork and/or beef. In all the other Vietnamese restaurants we've been, this dish would have actual bbq pork and/or beef slices, not sausages. The sausages were flavorful but had a gummy texture. This felt like a switch and bait. We also wished there were more veges such as lettuce, carrots and bean sprouts. The egg rolls were very crispy but I did not taste the shrimp filling. It tasted like mostly fried egg roll wrapper. The shrimp cake was good and the dressing was nice, but alas! They were not enough to save the dish. I do not like giving negative reviews but I gotta keep it honest. A lot of people obviously like to eat here because the tables are constantly turning over - as soon as a party leaves, new ones would immediately replace them. Maybe their other dishes were better? One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants at the moment. This spot is just as good as Summer Rolls in Temple City, maybe even better. It has a clean and modern feel inside the restaurant. Both the food and service were outstanding. Pho is exclusive to this location, so my husband and I really wanted to try it out. We shared the house special beef noodle soup containing filet mignon, well-cooked beef, soft tendon, and beef tripe (pho dac biet). The broth was hot and flavorful, the noodles were the perfect texture, and all the ingredients seemed fresh. We also had the dry vermicelli with charbroiled sliced pork shoulder, shrimp egg rolls, and shrimp cake. The portion of this was quite big. I really enjoyed the pork, which had a smoky, caramelized flavor. The shrimp egg rolls added a wonderful crunchy texture to the entire dish. Very delicious! Pork nem summer rolls are an absolute MUST. This is their signature item for obvious reasons. Each order includes 4 rolls and is served with a sweet and savory orange sauce. A new Summer Rolls spot in SGV and this one is just as good compared to the one located in Temple City. Upon entering, there's a Yelp waitlist kiosk for when it's packed which is already a huge plus. My wife and I were greeted by staff and seated immediately. As we were scanning through the menu, we noted that this location has Pho options while the other location doesn't have any. We ordered quickly and our food arrived fairly quickly as well, pleasantly surprised as the restaurant was quite busy. We ordered the Charbroiled Beef Vermicelli, Pho Dac Biet, and some classic Summer Rolls which is a MUST whenever visiting. Pho Dac Biet is such a classic dish to get, as good as any standard pho can get. I was pretty addicted to the broth as it wasn't too salty. Portions are quite big and there's no size adjustments, 10/10. The Charbroiled Beef Vermicelli is another classic dish to order. Presentation on this dish is spectacular and is a white overwhelming with the amount of ingredients on the plate. Each bite is full of flavor no matter what combination of ingredients you go with. The beef is tender and not too tough, very easy to eat as well. 10/10 Class summer rolls is of course, their signature dish to order. Providing with 4 full pieces, easily a shareable dish. Highly recommend to order every visit as a dish to share or as a snack. Location/Parking: Located in a plaza on the SE corner of Mission Rd. and Las Tunas. Next to Paris Baguette. Parking can be found in the plaza's shared lot or you can park on the street. Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings. Service: Service was alright. The owner's husband, Devin, was friendly and informational about the shop. I also believe I've played pickleball with him at Live Oak Park before. I'll have to strike up another conversation with at a later time. Food Of Choice: I've tried one item (BBH $16) so far and I thought it was quite good. The only negative is that there was less protein. Would be nice if they had more meat. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the egg rolls were crispy. The fish sauce here doesn't taste as strong compared to Summer Rolls, but it is still good. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. There are also more food options at this place but one downside of this place is the parking. It has a medium sized parking lot, but it is also shared with other restaurants. The place has a more modern vibe and is much more spacious, however, service is okay. Otherwise, I thought this place was still good. They also serve beer here so it's a nice well rounded restaurant. I've had the Summer Rolls in Temple City and I absolutely loved their banh mi, which was served on two runny eggs and a square shaped baguette. When I found out that San Gabriel also had a Nem by Summer Rolls, I knew I had to come give it a try. I came with some colleagues on a weekend. The restaurant is very clean and bright. We arrived at around 11:30 AM, and by noon the restaurant was completely full and there were long waits. The staff kept asking us to place our orders ASAP, perhaps because they were expecting the eventual rush of customers. I eventually did order the 33, which was a grilled pork chop with broken rice and also an egg crepe. The food came out fairly quickly. The pork chop was solid, but slightly firm. Fortunately, we went and got a table for nine people. We order the Banh Mi Thit Nurong with charbroiled pork shoulder and runny eggs on ciabatta bread, and Dac Biet Banh Beo Chen with famous central Vietnamese steamed rice cake with ground shrimp, sautéed onions, and fried pork skin, Nem Nurong Cuon with pork nem summer rolls, Cha Ram Tom Cuon with just shrimp egg roll summer rolls, 2 bowls of Bun Bo Hue with central Vietnamese-Style beef noodle soup (beef shank, pig feet, and pig's blood), and Pho Dac Bien with house special beef noodle soup (filet mignon, well-cooked beef, soft tendons, and beef tripe). The owner, Devan (sorry if I spell your name wrong), who took our order and accidentally ordered three bowls of Bun Bo Hue, was very gracious to give us one bowl for free on the house. Even though the restaurant was packed with diners, the service was excellent and attentive. My in-laws rarely compliment outstanding food and service, but they enjoy the cuisines here and want to return again. We were going to eat Poke, but we decided to try this newly opened restaurant. We have tried other Summer Rolls locations before, but we definitely like this location. The dishes were fresh, not greasy, and well seasoned. Don't be discouraged ordering Banh Xeo. You may need to wait a little, but it was worth the wait. They didn't disappoint with the stuffing either. Service was great, and the ambiance was pleasant. We are glad we went to Summer Rolls. We will be back! read more

I forgot to take pictures but the #31 banh mi bo xa and nem nuong cuon are so good, especially with their fish sauce! The fish sauce is slightly sweet with a very subtle fish sauce and it goes really well with the summer rolls. The lemongrass beef was so herbal-flavored and was FILLED with meat. It's also quite large for what you pay for so very worth! Super nice family works there and they are so friendly! read more

A fairly new addition by Summer Rolls has opened up and it is named Nem. Came here for a birthday lunch in San Gabriel and this was delicious. I ordered a pho and the soup broth was so tasty! Order number 18 pho dac biet which has filet mignon, well-cooked beef, soft tendon, and beef tripe! The tendon was definitely soft and everything was delicious! They have other items besides pho, such as meat rice plates, banh mi, and vermicelli bowls with meat. Shrimp rolls are also delicious! Come hungry and leave stuffed to the max. Service was fast and there were some nice staff members helping us since we were a party of six. read more
