Picked up lunch here for the first time. The food is nicely packaged in a box with veggies and a cup of fish sauce. The food looked good but I didn't like the meat slices. It tasted different than other places I have been too. The rice noodle is descent but overall I didn't like it. It could be my personal preference so you can try it on your own.

    Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set

My bf and I came here for a quick take out and were in and out within 15 minutes. There was no line so we were able to order right away. They accept card payment, there's ample free parking in the plaza and there's several tables in the store to dine in. Food 3/5: we ordered their house special set and split it between two people. in terms of portions, it was good because i felt content even after splitting the food with my bf. the taste was okay, nothing too special. i did like their fried sweet potato, the nuoc mam and the take away packaging. ambience 4/5: the restaurant is nice, clean and convenient. it's a bit bland in terms of decoration. it's a very clean simple store, there's not much character to it other than the take away box. service 5/5: the service was quick! staff was also really nice. no complaints from that front :) not sure if i would come again just because i feel like there's a bunch of local viet restaurants in the area that sells this dish with more substance and for cheaper. but i do like this place as a quick and light take out if that's what you're looking for.

Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set / pork and shrimp banh xeo

I was craving some banh xeo and banh cuon the other night, so I decided to stop by Tay Ho. I called in my order for pickup and when I arrived everything was packed nicely and ready to go. I got the pork and shrimp banh xeo. It was a pretty big portion and came with fresh veggies on the side for wrapping. I also opted for the spicy fish sauce. Even after getting home, the banh xeo was still crispy and had a good amount of filling inside. My only issue was that it was a little on the oily side. I also ordered the Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set, which comes with classic rice crepes, pork and mushroom rolls, ground shrimp rolls, Vietnamese ham, and shrimp and sweet potato fritters. This was really good. The rice crepes were made very well and the spicy fish sauce paired perfectly with everything. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and I would definitely order it again. I also like how they package everything neatly in boxes, which makes it easy to bring home and eat.

I'm a fan of Tay Ho's lunch pack! Super efficient way when you want to buy something grab and carry... especially for lunch on the go or to the airport! Super efficient and nice meal packaging makes for a nice lunch -- both appealing in taste and presentation. This spot is gran and go style. I also like their Vietnamese iced coffee here!

TLDR: Banh xeo and banh cuon are solid picks: flavorful, comforting, and consistent. The wings and bun were disappointing, especially with soggy wings and burnt pork, quality hit or miss this time around We decided to order from Tay Ho again since I was craving their banh xeo. It's just as I remembered, crispy edges with a saucy, flavorful interior that makes it stand out from the traditional style. Appreciate the improvement with more pork belly in the banh xeo. The lettuce this time wasn't the freshest, but the herbs (mint and shiso) were great. The banh cuon is always a reliable favorite, and we especially love the crispy sweet potato shrimp fritter that comes with it, definitely worth ordering again. We tried a couple of new dishes this time: the Viet-style chicken wings and the bun Tay Ho. Unfortunately, both missed the mark. The wings lacked the bold garlic-fish sauce flavor we expected and arrived soggy (hard to review as we got the food delivered), rating them about a 2/5. The bun was decent at best (3/5), but most of the pork pieces were burnt, which made it hard to enjoy. Overall, still a good spot for banh xeo and banh cuon, but consistency can vary with delivery.

    Pork rice rolls were disappointing

Ordered a Too Good to Go Bag and was so excited! I got there around 7:45pm so it was completely empty. Once I arrived, the lady that was near the counter had her back facing me and completely ignored me for at least 5 minutes even though I tried to get her attention by saying hi and even knocking on the counter. After 5-10 minutes passed, she finally acknowledged me without an apology and gave me my TGTG box. Inside the box was a huge amount of pork rice rolls and I thought it was such a good deal for $5.99! I was so excited only to realize there was no fish sauce. The rice rolls tasted quite stale and not as fresh as I was expecting. I am extremely disappointed not only with the service but with the quality also.

Tay Ho is my new obsession:) Be sure not to enter from the side street if you park there, you'll catch the cooks off guard like me. lol. Anyways, you can order ahead on the app or go inside to order on the kiosk. Very limited tables available but its a eat and go, or takeout type of restaurant. Classic set- only good things to say about this. House dipping sauce is so addictive! i feel light and healthy after this meal :) Ube Vietnamese Coffee - i was debating between getting full or half sugar, and went with full. I'm glad I did so because the coffee was quite strong so the sugar and ube helped make the drink more enjoyable. Prices are so good and overall I can see myself coming here couple times a week.

Delicious lunch from San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California... I won two entrées from a Valentine's Day Instagram contest and Tay Ho was so kind as to let me redeem my prize in May! They clarified and understood that I would be in Los Angeles in May... not March... which are months apart! Tay Ho has two locations and I chose the San Gabriel one. It has a free, shared parking lot and a cozy, clean interior. The cashier was efficient and friendly! She told me that my order would take about ten minutes because bahn mi sandwiches are made fresh! I watched part of my Veggie Bahn Mi being made. The chef was careful with the ingredients! I appreciated the toasty exterior of the bread and the fluffy interior. The pickled veggies added the flavor and crunch to the sandwich. The cucumber and parsley were fresh! I liked the mushrooms and tofu - I felt like I was eating healthy! I couldn't believe that this sandwich was just $7.00! It was gigantic... like 16 inches? I didn't have a ruler, but I believe it was more than 12 inches, for sure! Wow! What a deal! I want to return and get a plate and/or a bowl of yummy Vietnamese cuisine!

    Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set

I grew up eating banh uot from Tay Ho in Westminster, so I was excited to see a location pop up in San Gabriel. I work in LA now and there's not exactly an abundance of banh cuon places in 626. The few that are there close earlier than I get off work, and Tay Ho San Gabriel closes at 8. So on days that I'm in the office, Tay Ho San Gabriel is literally the only place I can get banh cuon or banh uot in SGV.  I ordered online a few hours ahead of time and set my pick-up time for 7:20. The food was waiting for us on the counter when we arrived. I wish that there was table service available, but this place is a takeout spot. There are, however, a couple of tables inside for anyone that wants to eat there (which we did). Also, there is no bathroom for customers, so dining there was not the most comfortable option. For a takeout spot though, this was pretty good. The packaging and branding is really cute, and if I were to have this delivered to me via a food delivery app, I wouldn't be mad. I love/hate the assemblable chopsticks because they are so cute and look like lego lightsabers but are so flimsy and frustrating to eat with. I also think that the food, although still yummy and perfectly edible, did not exactly taste the freshest, probably because it is a takeout joint. Also, I really liked my lychee green tea.  For the foreseeable future, I will continue to order from this location for my banh cuon cravings when I go in the office... because this is literally my only option.

    Jenny T.

My friends and I love Tay Ho, our order is conveniently packed to eat and it comes with reusable bag! My favorite is the banh cuon and banh uot sets, specifically the set with shrimp and fritters. I also tried the garlic noodles here, it's a newer item on the menu, and it's pretty solid in my opinion. There's a few tables inside if you prefer to eat in store. Can't wait to come back when I'm craving for some Tay Ho!

I saw a lot of great reviews from Yelp, and being curious about this place. This place seemed pretty new to me. The cashier is very friendly and patient. She explained the difference between sandwiches with east and west influences. I bought the BBQ pork with west influence. The meat was very flavorful and tender. The vegetable is fresh and it matched well with the meat. I also ordered a ube coffee. The ube flavor stood out, and the coffee was not super strong, which made the two a perfect match. My mouth is watering as I am writing about that. I will come back for more food and coffee. There are underground parking space available. Parking is easy.

Ordering banh cuon could not be any easier when using their app! I'm so sad that I waited so long to finally try this place. I was pretty skeptical about the "aesthetics" of the food but I was really craving for good banh cuon and this place definitely delivered! Via the app, we got a good deal for two sets. Also ordered the lychee lemonade and salty kumquat lemonade and they were both so good! Will definitely be coming back soon for my fixing. Ordered about 10:30am on a weekday so my food was ready pretty quick so I don't have much input on the service. Since it was also early in the morning, parking was also not difficult in the plaza.

I can't believe I haven't been to this place sooner! We ordered it for a work lunch, and everything was delicious. I got the Tay Ho Banh uot set which tasted really fresh and flavorful, and I loved the variety of food and textures. My coworker got the garlic noodles with steak, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'm getting next time. Noodles were flavorful with tender beef. I can never get garlic noodles right at my house. Value: We originally came here for the lunch deal where you buy a set and get a $1 drink, which is such a great value. I hope they offer another deal soon because I'll definitely be coming back. Parking: Parking is plentiful on the street and sometimes not so much if the plaza is busy. I just parked on the street because I didn't want to deal with the busy plaza lot.

The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. I came by on a Friday at 7pm for a dinner (weekend before Mother's Day) and was able to get seated in 15 minutes. They have a Yelp waitlist but you must go in person to join the waitlist. There's a spacious parking lot but there's rarely any spots available and will require you to wait for a free one. The interior is honestly very pretty. It's decorated with overhead chandeliers with bright lights and marble tables. When your table is ready, they also give you a tray full of chopsticks, napkins, and forks. Each table also has hoisin, sriracha, chili sauce, and another sauce I'm not too sure about. After we ordered, I got my pho da biet maybe 5 minutes after. The cha gios also came out a few minutes after too. Unfortunately, my boyfriend's com tam was forgotten about until after I devoured my pho. We even asked them about it in the middle and it was checked on but we weren't updated and thought they had went ahead and cancelled it but it still came out. No biggy, we packed it to-go since we basically split the pho da biet. Food: Pho da biet (9.5/10): The pho was soooo delicious. It was meaty with a little bit of sweetness to it. This is one of the few places where I don't feel the need to sauce down my pho to enjoy it. There's a good amount of meat in here. If you're a tendon enjoyer, there's about 3 big chunks in here. I love the way they separate everything. If you order this, it comes with the stone bowl at no additional costs. They separate the noodles and ribeye on the side and let you "decorate" it yourself. There was also a good amount of noodles in here. Com tam (7.9/10): I thought that this one was just okay. We got the grilled pork and grilled pork chop and I thought that the meats were cooked perfectly. There was a nice char to the meats and it was seasoned deliciously. It came with a lot of rice and a side of soup to enjoy! I did enjoy this fish sauce more than the one that came with the egg rolls. Overall, I wish this dish came out the same time as the pho so we could've enjoyed it together. Cha gio/Imperial Rolls (7/10): I love egg rolls but this one didn't really stand out to me. It comes with a good amount of vegetables that you can use to wrap your egg rolls in. I wish the fish sauce that came with this was more salty. Maybe it was that day, but I couldn't really tell what was inside the filling. It was all mushed in together instead of different layers. The skin was very thin and crispy which I really liked!

Their prices have not changed in years and the portions remain the same versus shrinkflation. Their menu is not that big but it has your essential Vietnamese dishes. Today I ordered the banh beo bi, vermicelli with nem nuong and egg rolls, nem nuong coun and che ba mau. Banh beo bi are rice cakes topped with shredded pork. It comes with chilies and fish sauce for you to pour on top. The rice cakes are served warm and are super smooth and soft. The thai chilies it comes with are spicy so don't use too much. The vermicelli with nem nuong and egg rolls comes with a slab of meat and a whole egg roll. The bottom are the noodles and mix of veggie and herbs. The nem nuong is sweetened charbroiled pork that is grilled. Think of a sweet meat ball. The egg rolls are super crispy and filled with meat. The noodles go well with the fish sauce and there are a lot of veggies inside. The nem nuong coun is a spring roll that's wrapped in rice paper. It has the meat and lettuce wrapped inside and comes with a dipping sauce. I believe the sauce is made with ground shrimp. For $8 for 3 rolls it is a steal compared to other restaurants. If you are craving Brodards in OC this place can satisfy your craving. Their che ba mau which is a 3 bean dessert has a lot of beans inside topped with coconut milk and shaved ice. It is the person drink to finish your meal and it is not too sweet.

Com Tam is decent, rice texture is on point. Pork chop is marinated well but not enough lemongrass flavor, tender and not dry at all. Baked egg was good but not amazing, seemed like it missing shredded wood ear mushroom. Che Ba Mau by far hands down the worst I've had. Red bean wasn't soft, outer shell/skin was still pretty tough. Not much mung bean either after stirring it literally for about 4 seconds the mung bean basically disintegrated into the liquid. The liquid.. watered down skim milk, not a trace of coconut flavor anywhere. I didn't know you can mess up Che Ba Mau until I had it from here.

I ordered egg rolls and the Pho Dac Biet. The egg rolls came out first. Fresh from the fryer with lettuce, herbs and the nuoc mam/fish sauce. I ended up fishing that on my own (first meal of the day haha). I was wondering where my pho was. I flagged down the server and he seemingly forgot. He rushed to the kitchen to get that going and it came out within a few minutes. Broth check first. It was light and had flavor. Didn't need to add hot sauce or hoisin sauce. Dressed up the pho with the herbs and went at it. Finished that as well. Pretty extensive menu. Fresh food. Overall, a nice place to grab some Vietnamese food.

I've only dined in a few times because it's always crowded and usually has a long wait, so I typically order my food to go. I enjoy both the combination pho and the chicken pho. The broth is rich and flavorful, and their egg rolls are also very good. On my last visit, I ordered a rice plate with pork chop, egg rolls, and shrimp paste. The dish was tasty. The pork chop was well seasoned and tender. They included two egg rolls and two pieces of shrimp paste, which I thought was generous. I just wish the pork chop portion had been a little larger. The rice was also delicious and had a buttery flavor. The meal was enough for two people to share. Prices are a bit higher compared to other pho restaurants, but the food quality is consistently good. Customer service was great. I placed my order online, and it was ready when I arrived.

For our family of seven, we always call ahead and order their famous baked medium catfish the day before so it's ready when we arrive for our reservation. It's always the highlight of the meal. We also never skip the 7 Courses of Beef and usually order two sets for the table. Everything is delicious and perfect for sharing family style. What keeps us coming back, beyond the amazing food, is the warm and welcoming family atmosphere. The staff always make us feel at home and Kevin is hands down the best! He's friendly, attentive and always helps make our celebrations feel extra special. Great food, great service, and a place that truly feels like family. Our server, Kevin, truly made the night memorable. He is hilarious and charismatic, ensuring we were well taken care of while keeping everyone laughing throughout the entire meal. The food was fantastic, especially the large catfish we ordered along with several other dishes. A helpful tip for anyone planning a visit is to order the catfish in advance when you make your reservation, as it is a popular item that takes some time to prepare. The dining style is interactive and fun since you wrap your own rolls using the catfish and various meats accompanied by fresh vegetables and vermicelli. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday, and the staff was kind enough to keep our cake in the fridge until we were ready for dessert at the end of the night. Everything was delicious, and the service made the celebration even more special.
