I've ordered several meals to go from Tay Ho and I've been delighted to find how nice the packaging is each time. They would be perfect for picnics as most of their meal sets come in nice form boxes. I recently ordered the grilled pork rice roll and grilled pork banh mi and both were excellent! There is plenty of easy underground parking in the back lot.

My bf and I came here for a quick take out and were in and out within 15 minutes. There was no line so we were able to order right away. They accept card payment, there's ample free parking in the plaza and there's several tables in the store to dine in. Food 3/5: we ordered their house special set and split it between two people. in terms of portions, it was good because i felt content even after splitting the food with my bf. the taste was okay, nothing too special. i did like their fried sweet potato, the nuoc mam and the take away packaging. ambience 4/5: the restaurant is nice, clean and convenient. it's a bit bland in terms of decoration. it's a very clean simple store, there's not much character to it other than the take away box. service 5/5: the service was quick! staff was also really nice. no complaints from that front :) not sure if i would come again just because i feel like there's a bunch of local viet restaurants in the area that sells this dish with more substance and for cheaper. but i do like this place as a quick and light take out if that's what you're looking for.

Picked up lunch here for the first time. The food is nicely packaged in a box with veggies and a cup of fish sauce. The food looked good but I didn't like the meat slices. It tasted different than other places I have been too. The rice noodle is descent but overall I didn't like it. It could be my personal preference so you can try it on your own.

Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set / pork and shrimp banh xeo

I was craving some banh xeo and banh cuon the other night, so I decided to stop by Tay Ho. I called in my order for pickup and when I arrived everything was packed nicely and ready to go. I got the pork and shrimp banh xeo. It was a pretty big portion and came with fresh veggies on the side for wrapping. I also opted for the spicy fish sauce. Even after getting home, the banh xeo was still crispy and had a good amount of filling inside. My only issue was that it was a little on the oily side. I also ordered the Tay Ho Banh Cuon Set, which comes with classic rice crepes, pork and mushroom rolls, ground shrimp rolls, Vietnamese ham, and shrimp and sweet potato fritters. This was really good. The rice crepes were made very well and the spicy fish sauce paired perfectly with everything. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and I would definitely order it again. I also like how they package everything neatly in boxes, which makes it easy to bring home and eat.

Hubs & I ordered through DoorDash from Tay Ho over a month ago, and I totally forgot to write a review! I loved their delivery boxes, utensils & bags! I absolutely love banh cuon and would definitely return just for theirs! We also ordered their DacBiet Special Banh Mi sandwich (japalenos were SPICY!); Shrimp Mi Xiao (Garlic Noodles) were good, a bit oily but tasty; and Che (Tri-Color) Dessert - can never go wrong. Everything was packed so nicely! Will definitely eat/order from Tay Ho again =)

I'm a fan of Tay Ho's lunch pack! Super efficient way when you want to buy something grab and carry... especially for lunch on the go or to the airport! Super efficient and nice meal packaging makes for a nice lunch -- both appealing in taste and presentation. This spot is gran and go style. I also like their Vietnamese iced coffee here!

TLDR: Banh xeo and banh cuon are solid picks: flavorful, comforting, and consistent. The wings and bun were disappointing, especially with soggy wings and burnt pork, quality hit or miss this time around We decided to order from Tay Ho again since I was craving their banh xeo. It's just as I remembered, crispy edges with a saucy, flavorful interior that makes it stand out from the traditional style. Appreciate the improvement with more pork belly in the banh xeo. The lettuce this time wasn't the freshest, but the herbs (mint and shiso) were great. The banh cuon is always a reliable favorite, and we especially love the crispy sweet potato shrimp fritter that comes with it, definitely worth ordering again. We tried a couple of new dishes this time: the Viet-style chicken wings and the bun Tay Ho. Unfortunately, both missed the mark. The wings lacked the bold garlic-fish sauce flavor we expected and arrived soggy (hard to review as we got the food delivered), rating them about a 2/5. The bun was decent at best (3/5), but most of the pork pieces were burnt, which made it hard to enjoy. Overall, still a good spot for banh xeo and banh cuon, but consistency can vary with delivery.

    Pork rice rolls were disappointing

Ordered a Too Good to Go Bag and was so excited! I got there around 7:45pm so it was completely empty. Once I arrived, the lady that was near the counter had her back facing me and completely ignored me for at least 5 minutes even though I tried to get her attention by saying hi and even knocking on the counter. After 5-10 minutes passed, she finally acknowledged me without an apology and gave me my TGTG box. Inside the box was a huge amount of pork rice rolls and I thought it was such a good deal for $5.99! I was so excited only to realize there was no fish sauce. The rice rolls tasted quite stale and not as fresh as I was expecting. I am extremely disappointed not only with the service but with the quality also.

Tay Ho is my new obsession:) Be sure not to enter from the side street if you park there, you'll catch the cooks off guard like me. lol. Anyways, you can order ahead on the app or go inside to order on the kiosk. Very limited tables available but its a eat and go, or takeout type of restaurant. Classic set- only good things to say about this. House dipping sauce is so addictive! i feel light and healthy after this meal :) Ube Vietnamese Coffee - i was debating between getting full or half sugar, and went with full. I'm glad I did so because the coffee was quite strong so the sugar and ube helped make the drink more enjoyable. Prices are so good and overall I can see myself coming here couple times a week.

Delicious lunch from San Gabriel, Los Angeles, California... I won two entrées from a Valentine's Day Instagram contest and Tay Ho was so kind as to let me redeem my prize in May! They clarified and understood that I would be in Los Angeles in May... not March... which are months apart! Tay Ho has two locations and I chose the San Gabriel one. It has a free, shared parking lot and a cozy, clean interior. The cashier was efficient and friendly! She told me that my order would take about ten minutes because bahn mi sandwiches are made fresh! I watched part of my Veggie Bahn Mi being made. The chef was careful with the ingredients! I appreciated the toasty exterior of the bread and the fluffy interior. The pickled veggies added the flavor and crunch to the sandwich. The cucumber and parsley were fresh! I liked the mushrooms and tofu - I felt like I was eating healthy! I couldn't believe that this sandwich was just $7.00! It was gigantic... like 16 inches? I didn't have a ruler, but I believe it was more than 12 inches, for sure! Wow! What a deal! I want to return and get a plate and/or a bowl of yummy Vietnamese cuisine!

I grew up eating banh uot from Tay Ho in Westminster, so I was excited to see a location pop up in San Gabriel. I work in LA now and there's not exactly an abundance of banh cuon places in 626. The few that are there close earlier than I get off work, and Tay Ho San Gabriel closes at 8. So on days that I'm in the office, Tay Ho San Gabriel is literally the only place I can get banh cuon or banh uot in SGV.  I ordered online a few hours ahead of time and set my pick-up time for 7:20. The food was waiting for us on the counter when we arrived. I wish that there was table service available, but this place is a takeout spot. There are, however, a couple of tables inside for anyone that wants to eat there (which we did). Also, there is no bathroom for customers, so dining there was not the most comfortable option. For a takeout spot though, this was pretty good. The packaging and branding is really cute, and if I were to have this delivered to me via a food delivery app, I wouldn't be mad. I love/hate the assemblable chopsticks because they are so cute and look like lego lightsabers but are so flimsy and frustrating to eat with. I also think that the food, although still yummy and perfectly edible, did not exactly taste the freshest, probably because it is a takeout joint. Also, I really liked my lychee green tea.  For the foreseeable future, I will continue to order from this location for my banh cuon cravings when I go in the office... because this is literally my only option.

My friends and I love Tay Ho, our order is conveniently packed to eat and it comes with reusable bag! My favorite is the banh cuon and banh uot sets, specifically the set with shrimp and fritters. I also tried the garlic noodles here, it's a newer item on the menu, and it's pretty solid in my opinion. There's a few tables inside if you prefer to eat in store. Can't wait to come back when I'm craving for some Tay Ho!

I saw a lot of great reviews from Yelp, and being curious about this place. This place seemed pretty new to me. The cashier is very friendly and patient. She explained the difference between sandwiches with east and west influences. I bought the BBQ pork with west influence. The meat was very flavorful and tender. The vegetable is fresh and it matched well with the meat. I also ordered a ube coffee. The ube flavor stood out, and the coffee was not super strong, which made the two a perfect match. My mouth is watering as I am writing about that. I will come back for more food and coffee. There are underground parking space available. Parking is easy.

Main concern was the hairs we found in our food. When scooping out sauce, there was a hair that was in the chili oil jar. It was quite long and wavy and was mixed into the chili flakes. When we picked up the spoon, we saw it and pulled the hair out from between the clump.. I didn't take a picture at first excusing that it happens since it's a public condiment. However, I did take a picture of the second hair. I ordered the signature Pho and after a few bites, as I pulled up more noodles, I saw this quite long and kind of gross hair entangled in my noodles. Hopefully it's not from where I think it came from but as a guy, the shape and texture of this hair doenst look like it comes off your head. This being in the soup that comes from the kitchen and is most likely shared by anyone who orders pho is a bit off putting. We did not complain since it was closing time already by the time we got our food and I didn't want to hold them up any longer. It also is not my hair because the hair on my head doesn't look like this. I'd eat here again in hopes that hair in our food doesn't happen after this.

The Bon Rieu had the depth of flavor that I crave. Honestly, I judge most Vietnamese pho restaurants by their Bon Rieu because some places simply use seafood powder in their stock to fake it. What results is a very thinly flavored broth that has very little umami. Bon Rieu should have THE MOST umami of any soup dish because of its tomato and crab base. That's how you can tell if a place is cutting corners. The Nem Cuom is huge and the dipping sauce is generous. The House Special Tea is reminiscent of a passion fruit green tea from a boba place. Sweetened just enough to not be saccharine. Ambiance: Quite small. I believe one of their main issues may be parking during peak hours as it shares a tiny parking lot with many other businesses. HOWEVER, neighborhood parking is plentiful and just around the corner past the Sheridan Hotel and Starbucks. Round the corner and you'll find plenty of parking throughout the day.

I found it to be a little too salty to my liking but my husband enjoyed it. We both thought the soup was seasoned perfectly and was flavorful. ---------------------------------- (Total= $28.71 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly but minimal. Overall, we had a good dining experience and I would come here again.

If you're in the SGV or surrounding areas this place is a must try!!! The restaurant is small but busy, it's lined with booths and shared tables. Nothing fancy, the food is the reason why people come. The staff is friendly, fast and keeps everything running smoothly. The menu is huge, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I've never had a bad meal here. My favorites are the pork chop over rice, the beef banh mi and tom thit kho with dry egg noodles and broth on the side. Everyone loves the pho here but I haven't gotten around to trying it. The crispy egg rolls pair well with everything. Make sure to wrap them in lettuce and dip them in nuoc cham and you'll see why they're a must try. No reservations so expect a wait. Get there early to avoid the long line. They're open everyday from 10am to 8pm, except Wednesdays. Parking in the shopping center can be tough but there is plenty of street parking nearby. They have a second location in Temple City but I'd stick to the OG San Gabriel location. Try Golden Deli for amazing Vietnamese food at a reasonable price.

I recently ordered a chicken pho and it was laden with msg. I feel like I was drinking 3x more water than I usually did and felt so thirsty the whole day after. Portion was pretty small. Service is good and friendly, they're great place to bring young kids / toddlers.

The catfish skin was crispy, while the meat was tender and flavorful. There was no grassy smell/taste that is typical of catfish. On the other hand, I would skip the name sake of the restaurant. The bo 7 mon was underwhelming, and the only dish of the 7 that was enjoyable was the bo la lot (beef in bezel leaves). The vinegar shabu beef, lemon grass grilled beef, steamed meat cake (I'm skeptical that this was beef as its color and taste was more like pork) and beef porridge weren't good. The veal salad and meat balls were good but not great Definitely come for the catfish!

For our family of seven, we always call ahead and order their famous baked medium catfish the day before so it's ready when we arrive for our reservation. It's always the highlight of the meal. We also never skip the 7 Courses of Beef and usually order two sets for the table. Everything is delicious and perfect for sharing family style. What keeps us coming back, beyond the amazing food, is the warm and welcoming family atmosphere. The staff always make us feel at home and Kevin is hands down the best! He's friendly, attentive and always helps make our celebrations feel extra special. Great food, great service, and a place that truly feels like family. Highly recommend for any family gathering or special occasion!
