#2 combo regular with combo spring rolls and egg rolls
    Rosemarie E.

My first time here, and the broth was really Good. Noodles were chewy and it was a great size (#2 combo regular). At the time I went there were only four other people, but it was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly, and I heard from the other table that the strawberry smoothie was so good he ordered another to go. It's close by a Super H Mart, but I didn't have a hard time finding parking. Check out the pic :)

It smelled like pho! And looked like pho! 'Twas not pho. My dad and I lunched here today. We each ordered a bowl of pho which costs $11.99 for a regular portion regardless of which meats you choose. It's deceptively aromatic in the restaurant, however, after sampling the broth, there was something very off about the taste. At best, it resembled the kind of broth you'd find in an instant pho bowl. The uniform cuts of meat were fine. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't good either. I can see why people patronize this establishment, but it'll be a hard pass for me.

I have seen this Pho place for years and finally tried it out. Pho soup is delicious! Curry is not my type. Super quick service and not crowded.

Pho Hana has always popped up as a restaurant close to my home, and I've always thought about trying it. I never had the opportunity until discovering it while walking around the H Mart plaza tonight. Service was rather quick at 8pm. I entered, was able to sit anywhere, and water was served promptly. One awkward interaction was with another server who asked to take my order, although I only had the menu for about 20 seconds... was 8pm, and they close at 9pm, so I didn't understand the urgency. The interior was on the darker end, perhaps from dimmer lighting and the darker wallpaper. I ordered the beef vermicelli. While waiting for my food, I browsed the most recent Yelp reviews, which led me to a light panic. I wished that most were false, but I didn't let me stop me from enjoying dinner. When the beef vermicelli arrived, I tried each part one at a time. Everything was as expected, although I found the beef to be interesting. The crispy texture had the consistency of KBBQ beef brisket, except it was rather dry. It was on the saltier end as well, but still tasty. The egg roll tasted lukewarm and reminded me of airplane food. The sauce was tasty, but it left me with a sore throat by the end of the night (not sure why). Overall, I enjoyed dinner here and would likely return in the future to try some other menu items. Pho Hana sounds like a fusion between Vietnamese and Korean food - a first for me - and I say this because I saw kimchi / Korean items on the menu as well. The menu is fairly small, and it made deciding on food a rather seamless process.

    Pho plain large.

The flavors on the plain pho were delicious. I like to take a sip before adding any additional sauces or toppings. I knew it was going to be good when I walked in. It smelled like a rich and flavorful bowl of pho and i was not disappointed when I got my bowl. The servers were so nice and hospitable. The music was low and the space was tranquil. Not super busy and maybe that's why it was so chil.

The food is absolutely authentic and delicious. You can smell how fragrant the broth is the second you enter the restaurant. This place is underrated for sure.

    1. Beef Combo Rice Noodle (To-go)

Continuing my conquest to find the best spots for Pho in the greater LA area, I decided to search Yelp on a lively Friday night for a place to eat. I found Pho Hana, located in the same center as Diamond Bar's H Mart Plaza. Even though the 3.5 star rating seemed off-putting at first, I later decided that it would be worthwhile since many Asian restaurants get lower ratings compared to other cuisines. Though I typically order vermicelli bowls when I visit Vietnamese restaurants, I was in the mood for a good bowl of pho because of the dropping temperature. I ordered a Combination Pho over the phone and the waitress told me to come in 15 minutes to pick up the food (which was pretty quick). I arrived around the 15 minute mark to see only two tables of people eating inside. Granted it was around 8:30 which is well after the average dinner time. I paid around 13 dollars for the bowl including tax and walked out to enjoy my meal. Dropping the top of the box, the first thing I noticed was the amount of ingredients far exceeded my expectations. In one corner, the meat assortment of flank steak, brisket, tripe, shank, and tendon were given in a large amount and layered on top of each other. The meat looked vibrant when raw which to me signified the meat was fresh. The noodles were given in large mass as well and I had a problem placing all of the noodles inside the plastic container provided. The final corner had toppings such as cilantro, onions. In addition to the box, the broth was given in a good quantity as well as it was in a wide and deep box. Lastly, a side of beansprouts, lime, and pepper were given on the side. For quantity, this was a big hit and I left feeling filled. Did it taste good, though? In short, yes. All aspects of this particular pho tasted great! Beginning with the broth, it was lightly sweet, deeply savory, and refreshing at the same time. As a fundamental part of the pho, it held its own and impressed me. The onions and cilantro were fresh, but altered the taste of the broth which made the pho taste less cohesive. (Keep in mind though that firstly I don't really enjoy eating cilantro or onion frequently, thus I am biased in this regard. And secondly that this is why the cilantro and onions came on the side) The noodles were fresh as well and were easily pulled which gave a smooth but not gooey texture. Furthermore, the noodles absorbed the broth which gave them a good unintended flavor. Finally, each of the meats tasted great. Starting with the flank steak, the pieces were a good balance of thickness and flavor which can be a hard balance to strike due to the thick nature of the meat. The brisket had a deserving portion of meat, unlike many places that will give you mostly fattening pieces. Though the brisket had some fat, it did help give the meat extra moisture and flavor that it needed. The tripe was given in large pieces, which I appreciated and gave a good contrast to the other softer items. The shank meat was cut into thin pieces which made it easy to eat compared to other restaurants that leave them in large blocks. The shank was more flavorful and easier to eat as well because it was cut in said pieces. Lastly, the tendon was probably one of the best parts as it was very juicy inside. I could taste a variety of sauces that seeped out which added supplemental flavor to the broth. In sum, I am going to give Pho Hana 5 stars. The food was the main highlight for me as the ingredients were fresh but also flavorful. Making a dish that can achieve both at the same time is very rare, so I will applaud Pho Hana for making a taste-filled pho that also tasted light. The food was also given in generous portion sizes for the price which made me feel respected as a customer. Though the Yelp average for this restaurant was 3.5 stars at the time, I definitely think it should be drastically higher. Really great job Pho Hana, I will for sure be returning to get more pho and try other items in the future.

I ordered a house special pho, egg rolls and Vietnamese hot coffee with condensed milk. I was expecting the pho comes out first as usually that's the case since the soup is ready made, pho noodle doesn't take long to cook. but the egg rolls actually came out first piping hot. I was also pleasantly surprised that I can taste some meat inside the egg rolls. Pho and coffee came about the same time. pho noodle was standard size with enough pho noodle (still too much for my taste). the beef slices do have some pink (raw) color when it was served. soup was flavorful enough. coffee was too sweet for my taste. I even asked for more coffee to dilute the sweetness but didn't help much. total bill was around $26+tips for 1 person.

Community staple and favorite. This restaurant has been here forever (pho-ever, hehe) around 2020…read moreand I just only recently had it with my mom. I guess it used to be a Japanese restaurant, but it always looked so fancy on the outside that when I was in MS/HS/college, it looked too bougie to go to. Now 15 years later and with paltry income, I can treat my mom to lunch here! They're open at 11 AM, but we went in at around 10:50 AM since the Open sign was turned and the Open lights were one. Worker there greeted us with a smile, checked up on us the entire time, refilled our waters, brought us bowls to help us split food even when not prompted, and had a smile on the entire time. For the hour that we were there, a single diner came in and a party of 8 as well. They have a written wait list in front and a to go order kiosk, so you can tell they're pretty popular. Both of us got custom pho, which is $17 (the lowest base price unless you get plain) and you get an option of 3 proteins. Add an extra $1 for fresh noodles. We both just opted for the classic thin noodles. I ordered without beansprouts thinking it was already going to be in our broth, but it comes out as a side dish but the plate was enough for my mom and I to share. HUGE portions of pho. The bowl size is easily a large at any other pho restaurant. Both of us finished all of the meat in our order, but there was still a decent amount of noodles left so come in hungry. I ordered my custom pho with beef brisket, flank, and rib eye. Some of the cuts were a bit more fattier with big chunks of chewy gooey fat, which I'm not a fan of and left in the bowl. Other than that, pretty good meat quality. Not the most tender, but not tiny pieces or too dry either. Broth was pretty flavorful, nice depth of taste with the beef stock flavor, the onions and other garnishes. It's a bit fatty in taste, but it makes it richer in my opinion. We got a regular fried rice to try and take home for my brother's lunch. It's a plain one with carrots, peas, and scrambled eggs with some onions, garlic, and pepper (the spice). Light in flavor so it's not mega greasy. Just add some sauce on the side to taste. Overall, not a bad experience.
