i went here to get banh mi. which was my first mistake. but since there are no banh mi specific places in diamond bar, i thought i'd give it a try here. the bread itself is good. i ordered banh mi with beef. the beef however, is just pho beef. not the seasoned grilled slices that are typically used in banh mi. it also had a pile of onions on it. so basically, the beef banh mi is just pho served on a baguette. needless to say, don't buy banh mi from a pho restaurant. which i will never do again here. read more

Food is alright, but I've had better pho. Service was bad and barely there. The first time I was here was in 2018. Second and last time was a few days ago. The server never gave me my drink, or the bean sprouts and lime plate that every pho restaurant does. I was never checked up on again and it took forever for them to get my check too, even though it was pretty much dead in there. Can't believe I wasted half hour here. I used to live closer, recently moved 25 miles away, but I like to make a trip once a week to the H-Mart because they have some products that the 99 Ranch in my new neighborhood doesn't have. This is my go to place. My mom and I love the restaurant and the staff is super friendly. They even fixed me a beautiful spread to-go when I was too sick to come in (see photos). Their pho is always on point, never had a bad dish and their bun is also super tasty. Their iced coffee is nice and strong and sweet. My family used to go to Tai Nguyen in Rowland Heights until they sadly closed down so we were very excited to find this gem in Diamond Bar near H Mart and super close to our house. Pho Hana is a Korean style pho place that is next to hmart plaza. Parking is pretty easy and came here for dinner time. Ordered a large bowl of pho which is super gigantic and can be shared between two people. Just ask for a small bowl from the server. Also got a side of onions as well. The server was really nice and they also give you a free small boba milk tea. I like how the broth is pretty light and not heavy tasting like way too oily or meaty. So that was a bonus and the place was pretty empty so service was really fast for everything. The noodles weren't hard and were pretty much cooked the right way so they tasted really nice. They are open from 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM which is literally 12 hours so if you want to enjoy a bowl of pho for lunch or dinner this could be a spot. Date of visit: July 18, 2015 Who'da thunk that a Korean-run Vietnamese restaurant that's a bit out of the way in Diamond Bar (located near H-Mart, to be more precise) would be this popular? We came here this past Saturday for an early dinner and to get out of the rain - and with the weather, a nice bowl of pho sounded really good to us. I ordered my usual go-to pho order (the #1 XL Special Combination with rare steak, brisket, flank, tendon, and tripe), and my girlfriend went with a small order of seafood pho (sliced fish cake with 4-5 large shrimp). I also ordered a side of half spring rolls/half summer (egg) rolls; it's rare to see a Vietnamese restaurant offer a half & half combo, and seeing how Kathy had never tried either one prior to our visit, I figured I'd introduce her. For the most part, while our meals were delicious, I was a bit disappointed to see that there were more noodles than protein in my order, and I had to flavor my broth with the bottle of nearby hoisin sauce (sriracha is also available on the table). Then again, we did get a free small cup of milk tea and boba with our orders... The ambiance and service are pleasant and friendly enough; we didn't get that feeling of being rushed out the door like I've gotten at other Vietnamese restaurants. We did have to flag our waiters for takeout boxes and water refills (due to the drought, water service is on request only). And, seeing the restaurant fill up as the afternoon passed was a testimony to how good the restaurant was. Okay straight up. Pho Hana was not my first choice. It wasn't my second either. We pulled in front of Cherry On Top around 8:55PM and made our way to A&J. They were closing in 5 minutes DAMN! We then walked next door to Mr G's Pizzeria and they were also closing at 9 double damn! We started making our way down the strip mall and stumbled upon Pho Hana. I don't know how I feel about Korean-owned pho places. I don't really have any complaints. It was as I expected. Totally deserted but I will give them the benefit of the doubt with it being so late at night. Their interior decor was something I've never experienced at a pho place before. It was like I was eating at a Marie Callendar's or a Coco's or something. With all the fake potted plants and the furniture, it was like I was in a country-esque American restaurant. They offer three different sizes of pho: S, M, L. Normally you're only given the M and L options. I went with the small pho meatball, which only cost $4.99! As I was scanning over their menu, I noticed their house curry and fried rice. Yeah, definitely not a Vietnamese pho restaurant. They had some interesting drinks though. They had this drink called Moon which is fruit punch and homemade lemonade. YUM! I'll have to try that next time. Our orders came out almost immediately. I'm such a sucker. I was super excited for the free small boba milk tea. Anything that I'm going to get for free AND it's something I can eat/drink? You know you can count me in! The pho was satisfying. It obviously wasn't the greatest I've ever had but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. I'm not sure how to describe it, but the broth did taste a bit different. It had that Korean taste. The Korean Kick you could say. Portion was great. I got the small and I was already stuffed by the time I was finishing off the noodles. The service is great. Nice and efficient. I felt at home eating here and I didn't feel like I had to fish for some nasty foreign bug that may have fallen in my soup. Pho Hana is tucked inside the H-Mart plaza with with a modest entrance that leads inside the restaurant. The food arrives very fast and the feeling overall is unpretentious. For the average high school student that patronize this place, it will be ok. However, for more seasoned pho frequenters around the block, I'd have to say Pho Hana is on the lower end of the stick compared to most. Their soup tend to be on the acidic side. I believe soy sauce soup bases tend to have that taste. Bases that are brewed with real bones usually have a meatier flavor. The broth is very important component of the pho. I also don't like how little meat they serve for a large bowl. Above market price but below average pho, I'd consider some place else to get my pho kick. read more

Vegetarian Pho to go $8.75 Somewhat Bland. My husband was kind enough to pick up a soup from this Pho place on the way home. He eats here occasionally in a pinch but I had a feeling this would be just average, and it was. The broth was clear, nothing to write home about-did not taste house made-with some dried onion pieces floating in the broth. The noodles were plentiful. Veggies consisted of some cabbage, two pieces of broccoli and three thin slices of carrot. The side of basil was measly, 4-5 leaves at the most, and a tiny sprinkling of cilantro and one small dry piece of lime, I was able to squeeze out a few drops of juice. The condiments were just not plentiful enough to make my soup pop with the herbaceous flavors I am used to enjoying when eating pho. I got a togo order of the medium beef combo pho and the beef sandwich. I ordered through the phone and picked it up when I got there. My order was already ready for me within 10 mins! I did not expect the medium beef combo to be such a huge portion size. However, I thought the pho was just mediocre. There was not enough flavor in the broth. It was pretty much clear with lots of noodles and some pieces of beef. The sandwich was pretty good though. The bread was nice and crispy and soft on the inside. I come here a lot mainly because it's so close to my home but I also get great service. Pho is my go to when I'm sick so I usually call ahead and pick it up. Broth has a great flavor and noodles are always fresh. I use to work in the same shopping center and came before they were officially open for lunch (I had started early that day so my lunch break was around 10:30am), but because they knew me and where I worked the owner served me anyway - so nice. One of the worst pho's i've ever had. I support mom n pops shops, but this place is overpriced ($12 for a large combo), and they give you barely any of the meats and broth was super bland. So yesterday the husband really wanted PHO...why? Because he was hungover. This pho place is located in the plaza with the H-Mart in diamond bar. Walking in, it's clean and there were not many patrons...maybe because it was Super Bowl Sunday...anyway I wasn't the hungriest but that doesn't mean I don't have taste buds! We looked at the menus and I ordered a medium Pho Tai (rare beef) and the husband ordered a large seafood pho. The pho tai was a decent portion of food with LOTS of noodles and not much meat. The seafood pho didn't have much seafood in it...and what it did have was a couple pieces of shrimp, mussels, and calamari...mind you this pho is probably catered more towards a korean clientele. The only reason why this place didn't get a higher rating from me is because the pho broth was not flavorful. They did give a small sample cup of boba milk tea that tasted pretty good. Oh also, I was super tempted to order some coconut juice but they let me know it was from a can which was nice of them. I visited this location on a rainy Saturday morning. The restaurant is very nice and quiet with Asian decorations. The staff was friendly and very fast. We were on the road, so this place grabbed our attention for some warm pho. Ordered items: Large Brisket Pho and the spring and egg roll combo. The staff was very attentive and brought our pho very fast. It was served in a very large bowl, big enough to share with 2 or 3 people. We were craving spring rolls too, so we got a combo with 2 spring rolls and 2 eggrolls. The peanut sauce was very Delicious. Nice and thick for the spring roll. I really enjoyed the pho from this place. It had a unique taste and it was filled with plenty of brisket. The restaurant also brought us complimentary Thai tea!! Came in on a Sunday to get carryout for lunch. We ordered the Shrimp Rice Rolls (3), Vermicelli with Fried Tofu, Charbroiled Beef Rice Plate and a Beef Vietnamese Sandwich. We were disappointed to say the least. The Shrimp Rice Rolls had no vermicelli in it, it was basically a big ball of lettuce wrapped in rice paper (see photo). The Vermicelli with Fried Tofu also had barely any vermicelli, just basically a whole plate of lettuce and the fried tofu was thinly sliced and so overcooked that my kids couldn't even eat it because it was so hard. The beef for the Charbroiled Beef Rice Plate was literally the slice beef they usually have in the soup with no flavor. We've been to a few other Vietnamese restaurants around Diamond Bar and there are definitely better ones around than this one. I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this place, as I personally think it's pretty decent. The portion sizes are great and the broth is very soothing, albeit a bit on the bland side...but at least it's a good sign that they probably don't use as much MSG as other places? At least, I hope it is! On the other hand, their egg rolls definitely aren't the greatest and are actually pretty sparse, considering they barely stuff them with ground pork and they come served with a minimal amount of garnishes. I'd be interested in trying some of their other appetizers though, as their menu is really extensive. As others noted, this place is clearly owned by Korean folks, as they even serve Korean BBQ short ribs, so the pho definitely isn't the most authentic...but like I said, it gets the job done. As a bonus, the service is pretty attentive and they give everyone a complimentary little cup of boba milk tea, which actually tastes pretty decent (think Tapioca Express level) - definitely a nice little touch and pairs well with the pho! This place is like the OG of pho for me, this is the first place I ever had pho when I first moved to California from the snowy midwest. I'm sure there's pho out there, I just never had it prior. I eat maybe once every few years, mostly for nostalgia, and it doesn't ever disappoint. For $5, anyway. The price can't be beat around here, I'll give them that. This is like Westminster pricing, and I love it. The only draw is the "toppings". I wouldn't call them your very choice cuts of meat, but for $5 I guess I can't really complain... It does come with a mini cup of boba milk tea, so that's always a fun treat. We also ate the egg rolls we always do, just two rolls. Every time I come here the decor also changes. Disclosure: I am basing this on fried rice, not their pho! The chicken fried rice was beyond disappointing and I will not pay $6.99 for it again. It was a strange texture and very mushy. I don't think the rice was fried very well. It was probably old rice they used and threw in some eggs. The chicken was something else. I'm pretty sure it was steamed or it was two weeks old. It tasted soggy, not seasoned, and just plain old. Other people in my party ordered pho, but I honestly don't know how to rate it. We had to ask for the leaves, I am unsure why it didn't come with it. The water was not even cold. The free boba (yay) was hard. Not impressed.
