This is my 2nd time eating at this establishment. The first time was nice. A teen was working as a waitress and was an absolute sweetheart... But as soon as I walked in this 2nd time I should of known it was going to be a bad experience... The table were sticky/dirty and so were the utensils to eat with. When I asked the waitress/cashier for a towel to wipe the table down. She gave me attitude and told me to sit at another table which was less sticky.. Smh.. I sat down at my new table and ordered pho and a fruit smoothie. 10 mins go by and my food and drink are brought to me. I start to pour housin/siracha into my pho when i realise the soup is lukewarm and to make matters worst there was a fly in my drink!!! I called the lady over to show her and to my face she tells me, that must've just happened because the restaurant doors we're open. I told her no that fly (which looks like its been dead a long time) had been in there since she gave it to me. She then apologies and takes the drink to the kitchen, where i see her show the cook the fly in the drink and they proceeded to laugh about it. At that point, I called her back to my table to tell her I wont be eating there and that I was leaving.. She had the nerve to still try charge me for the fly drink.. I've been going to this restaurant for years but haven't been for a bit. I think that they've changed the broth recipe. It's distinctly sweeter. Actually, quite sweeter with a strong hint of nutmeg or possibly allspice. I don't really have the palate to know the difference but it's sweeter and it's not a straight-up sugary sweetness. You know, I don't like it. It's not that it's bad; it's just different. It's not for me. Others might like it but I don't. That's one star lost. The other issue is that, yesterday and today, the broth has been lukewarm. It used to come out blazing hot. I used to like the feeling of the broth cooking the rest of my mixed ingredients and all that. Putting raw meat in and then having it come out perfectly rare. Now it feels that the meat's just hovering about, thinking, 'Okay, what now?' One time of getting lukewarm broth, I can forget. Twice? And when the broth has seemingly changed? That's another star. Now, here's where the star system fails. Sort of. It's a great restaurant run by great people. It's clean; the staff is great; they're clearly dedicated; all the ingredients are fresh, and awesome, and delicious, and I would recommend anyone in the neighborhood to give it a go. And the lukewarm thing? That's correctable. But the change in the broth? I dunno. It's a matter of taste, obviously. It's just not for me. The nutmeg-like notes just ruin the whole experience with me. Will I give it another go? You bet. It was the place that made me a phan of pho (see what I did there? L@@K AGAIN.). And maybe that's why I'm so put off by the recipe change (if, indeed, there was one; maybe it's me that's off) because it's like going back to Mom's and finding out she's switched out recipes on you. The broth is still good, still delicious, but, eh, it's just not for me. If it had been just the broth change, one star. If it had just been the lukewarm broth twice, one star. But the both together? Over two visits? Sorry, two stars. HAHAHA LOOK ME THINKING MY OPINION IS THAT IMPORTANT THAT I HAVE TH EXPLAIN oh god nevermind -------------------- Okay, quickly going back quickly and with great alacrity, celerity, and speediness bumping back up a star because now I'm completely paranoid that they haven't changed the broth recipe and it's my palate that's changed. My reasoning is because I'm in the process of trying to, once again, give up caffeine and--more importantly--Coke Zero. Haven't had any in days. Just thought to myself, 'Oh, right, that'll be nice. A bit of Coke Zero.' Opened a bottle. FSSSSST. Had a sip and it was brutal foamy mouth death. This place was a good pho place to go when I moved up here from Seattle 7 months ago. Not the best but good enough to satisfy your craving. We came back 2 months ago for pho but it was disappointing. Despite the place looks cleaner, the name and menu have changed under new ownership. It's still Pho Mai outside on the sign but on the menu it's Happy Pho. The taste is noticeably different. We ordered a large pho but it came out bland, the tendon had a bad beefy smell, and within 5 minutes, the noodle has completely absorbed the broth due to bad portion of noodle vs broth. We have to ask for an extra bowl of broth and again we had a pretty hard time communicating with waitresses. The 2 girls took time to understand what we requested so the noodle got soggy by the time the broth came out. We also ordered a togo milk coffee ahead of time before finishing the bowl. Still we spent time waiting for it as they seemed don't know how to make it properly. Sad experience since we used to love this place. We may give it another chance later but won't be back for now. read more

I came here to order what I usually order in pho restaurants: 3 order of spring rolls without noodles. The girl attending was nice and smiley, except that she ask me if I was going to be able to eat the 3 orders. Hmmm wrong question to ask a customer. Anyway my order came and it was actually kind of bland, made with iceberg lettuce, rolls didn't have mint or a roll of eggroll wrapper, sauce didn't taste to peanuts, it just had sprinkled peanuts on to. Ive been here a couple of times before, all the food fly out of the kitchen pretty quick. Everything about the pho was delicious from the broth to the meat, even the portion was just right! The spring roll came out pretty quick as well, although that leads me to believe that its made ahead of the time because the wrap was a little dry. Service on the other hand was horrendous, the waiter dropped off water when we first got there and that was the last time my glass was filled. When the spring roll came out, it was on a dirty plate as was the extra bowl we asked for. As a staff member approached our table she stopped at a table to grab a napkin to wipe off whatever was on the bowl.... we had to wipe it again after she handed it to us. Probably my last time here due to service, the ordeal was rather embarrassing because i recommended this place to the party i was with. Looking for cooks and wait staff. the last pho I ordered, was LESS than appealing and was awful tasting. I am not sure what these new reviews are about, have you guys EVER eaten good pho? Not gonna lie, came here because of the name. I mean damn, I could; I would Ordered a medium pho with brisket and steak, chicken banh mi (sandwich), and chicken wings. I'm really particular in what my pho broth taste and this place almost got it. Noodles were fine but the brisket and steak was gamey. My friend ordered the chicken banh and chicken wings. We love this place! Location is convenient for us and service is always very quick! Food is good and their bubble tea is my favorite!

This used to be my favorite quick lunch spot, but it was recently sold or something. It is truly horrible now and I would recommend avoiding it, at least until they figure out how to run a restaurant. We attempted to visit here on our lunch break today. After we arrived there were several other tables that filled up, but when we first walked in they weren't that busy. I noticed there were more staff in the restaurant than I've ever seen there. After they took our order, the waiter said it may be 15-20 minutes to get our food because they had a new cook. I immediately assumed we were screwed and asked for our food to go. I had to get back to work by the end of the hour. In the time we were there, I think they tried to bring us the food for every other table in the place. Our food for the party of six came out one at a time over the course of more than 30 minutes. We never got a few of the items but we gave up on them. When the food finally did come out it was not very good. I'm sad we've lost our favorite lunch spot :( read more

Affordable noodle house prices, but better food and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended! I went in for the first time last week, and I was really impressed! First, the food was delicious! My friends and I had spring rolls and shrimp skewers for appetizers, and I ordered one of the noodle dishes. So good! I couldn't believe how much food I got for the price. Just like a standard noodle house, the food was really affordable and served very quickly. Unlike a noodle house, the restaurant is really nice, bright, and relaxing. It was definitely more upscale, and I didn't feel like I had to hurry to eat and leave. What a great combination! read more

My husband and I went here last month to try it, and it was awesome, and have eaten here a couple times since (sometimes with take out). The service is AMAZING, the Pho is GREAT, and all the appetizers we've tried were DELICIOUS. My husband tried the Iced Coffee, and it was really wonderful. My favorite is the coconut juice. (Just to try it, we gave one of their competitors a try last night--- Pho To Liem, and had a horrible experience. Not only did we NOT get served properly, but the waitress spilled my hot soup all over me and my nice clothes, and burnt my hand and knee. They did not offer to take anything off of my bill!!! I wish I could give them zero stars! My daughter and I ordered and sat there for a half hour while everyone around us, including people who came in after us, was served! We even had a nice man who came in after us come over to our table and apologize that he got his food first. What the hell is that?! I have ordred here a few times and it was good, so I Called n asked if they had a chicken broth for the chicken pho and was told yes.When i proceeded to tell her i thought she gave me the wrong broth, she initially apologized and said they ran out. I wanted to venture out and try a new pho place so thanks to yelp, this was the chosen one. As soon as we walked in we were greeted (good job). The server was friendly. Since it was a new place, we all decided to get different things: spicy bun bo hue, combo pho with meatballs, and vegetarian pho..........I was able to try a little bit of each and they were all delicious BUT my fav was my combo pho, of course. I live only a few blocks from Pho Mai, so I was there often. I love the food, and kept coming back. The waitress is very rude, and treated me poorly. (probably because I interrupted her, checking Facebook on her phone!) This is the third consecutive encounter with her, and her attitude has remained the same. Ok, so it's pretty good food. I come almost every other weekend after work. I don't eat the soup but the vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, pork/shrimp skewers. It's good stuff! In terms of service, well... Don't expect too much. They'll take your order, give you water, bring your food and you won't see them again. It's not that kind of a place. I wish I didn't live so far from Everett! Met some friends here for lunch on a Monday. Fairly busy, but the place is spacious and feels very open. Lots of natural light coming in from all the windows. Started off with he fresh spring rolls. They were fresh and the dipping sauce paired well. I tried the mixed beef-cut pho and some lemongrass chicken. The pho had a very clean flavor and came with plenty of lime, basil, peppers and sprouts. The chicken was amazing. All of the great lemongrass flavor without any tough bits of lemongrass. The coconut water was also a refreshing surprise. Topped off with a complimentary creampuff, I was stuffed. Very reasonbly priced, especially compared to what I usually see in Bellevue. read more

Everyone knows I love Pho and a place closer to work is even better. Great location and facility is very clean, that alone would beat the rest but the fact their they added sandiwches to their currently great menu is even better. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. First off, they do not speak English. I had so much trouble ordering extra noodles with my pho. Also, this is the first restaurant that I've been to with extra hidden fees everywhere. Most pho restaurants offer free extra noodles, but they charge an extra 60 cents here. And, as an added bonus for them, if you use a credit card for purchases under $10, they charge you 75 cents. And, if you take out your order, that'll be another 60 cents added to your bill. RIDICULOUS. The noodles have been cooked way too early prior to you ordering so they are all stuck together, and the cream puff may seem like a nice surprise but are soggy and almost gone bad. Also, they don't give you hot sauce.. which angered me very much because I love a little bit of hot sauce in my pho. DO NOT go to do this restaurant. read more

I was always curious about this restaurant & how authentic it would be, being a lover of Vietnamese food and all. The restaurant is open, big, and very clean! My bf had the grilled BBQ pork skewers with shrimp cane & egg rolls over rice noodles, and I had the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef & pork noodle soup). He loved his dish, as it was flavorful and well executed. Most importantly, his skewers were grilled perfectly & the fatty pork caramelized. My noodle soup was good, not great, but just good. I felt it could've used more lemon grass and spiciness & the slices of beef could've been more thicker for more authenticity. My family makes amazing vietnamese food which explains my tough critique... ;) I will still come back again in the near future and try the other dishes, the menu is huge and looks delicious!
